Your phone probably can't handle oc. You should try the 1gz kernel instead.
Thanks I will try, I don't really care for the speed but oh well

Exactly. My phone's the same way. If you're looking for speed on 2.1 I'd recommend Z4 mod.

Your post is already flawed since quadrant doesn't have good support for dual core... accuracy may be off. Try ChainFire.

unless you re-wrote the APK to support both cores, then you're gonna be better off using either Antutu or CF Bench.
Besides Quadrant not testing both cores, who wants to compare thier phone to the 2009 lineup? Time to upgrade your benchmarking app. I dont need an app to know the Atrix is better than the OGdroid. Quadrant sucks!

yea hopfully we can get some kinda superkernal 2.5oc to blow sg2 out of the water but i think our phones might blowup first; )

1. You could literally burn out your processor making your phone unusable at all (think of RROD for phones)
2. If it crashes while writing sd or nand you could loose data such as apps, texts from your boss, videos of your baby's first steps, pictures of your girlfriend and contacts of coworkers
3. Your phone could become less tolerant of workload and have random reboots even on stock RFS at 1ghz
4. A lot more such as battery overheating and possible exploding
5. IT IS A PHONE WITH NO FANS!
NEVER GO ABOVE 1.3 GHZ OR AT BEST STAY ON 1.0 GHZ (OR 1.2) LIKE SAMSUNG PUTS YOU ON DEFAULT (FOR A REASON)...
Please share your opinion of overclocking but don't be mean to others. There arrested some benefits but I say stay under 1.3

I have run 1.3 solidly since i rooted, no bad sectors or anything. I do understand there are recommended levels but is there any indicator one can use to notice degradation?
Sectors is the nand memory, not the processor. I am just saying the risks of it. Not saying that you shouldn't, just the risks.

I think it all depends on your surroundings, in a hot car I underclock and it still gets hot, outside or in a cold room I push it to 1.4ghz and it only gets warm. Also overclocking on the charger is probably a bad idea too. Just my 2 cents
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
I only overclock occasionally for bragging when a friend gets a fancy new phone or something.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Absolutely agree Marcusant. The only people I see random rebooting after release are OC'ing. My phone is superfast at 1000 Mhz and Legendary plus it barely does 1200 anyway so why blow it up?
Also aren't there galaxy s variants that come overclocked at 1.2ghz? Plus the moment was overclocked too. So I guess samsung is fine with overclocking.

I wasn't suggesting this was gonna get locked - just answering your question about what "L" in IBFL meant ....... I am in agreement about OverClocking ( and UnderVolting ) because some phones ( mine included ) don't handle OC/UV very well

exactly. the infuse uses same chipset but clocked at 1.2ghz factory.
Other than for bragging rights, overclocking a phone(especially on the epic) is almost pointless.
Its not like on a PC where you can overclock a CPU 50-100% of its original clocks to yield performance. A .3ghz overclock really get you nothing in the real world.
A year ago overclocking was marginal at best because no apps were able to utilize our phones processor but now with dual cores all around us it will be the only way we can keep up. Don't believe me? Try playing shadowgun at 1.0ghz

My result with CM9 v2.1, T132-ICS-CM9 Kernel and CPU set to 200-1000 MHz, ondemand: 2257.
Of course the NS can't mess with an GN, but i'm still impressed how much performance you can gain with custom-roms and -kernels.
I'm running gingerbread deck and the matrix kernel with an overclock to 1.2...(not live oc) and got a score of sound 2966. Hopefully the official 4G build gets ics performance up a little more. I find it hard to believe my device on GB out preforms a galaxy nexus by so much...
Lol nice update like how they slapped a galaxy tab score with io hack at top to make this crap look legit.
At least now you can distinguish actual hardware scores from IO.and supports dualcore.
about the only legit thing to go by in this benchmark is the CPU
anyways enough *****ing
