Help me root my spica - Galaxy Spica General

HELP NEEDED!!! when I try to root my spica every time the timer starts with no progress bar on Odin. It seems to get stuck at 'setup connection' in the dialogue box. I have installed all the drivers correctly and have put in the correct files. PLEASE HELP!!!

Are drivers correctly installed? Plug usb when in download mode and look if you get any errors in device manager. If there are errors- uninstall drivers, reboot pc, install drivers, disable KIES/NPCS and connect phone in download mode. If there are no driver errors start Odin

How do you disable nps?

Close the application, if it has system tray icon/launcher- close it too (right click for menu->exit or something like this). For KIES closing tray launcher was necessary.

Thanks this has worked and now I am rooted: D I am having some problems with apps2sd as I have said in new topic

trouble installing mytouch 1.2 usb driver plz help

so I have used USBDeview a million times to uninstall all the HTC drivers and then plug the phone in to install the drivers then I click on "Locate and install driver software (recommended)" then continue when asked for admin permission and then I get an error message thats pretty long but it sais
"newdev.exe - Dab Image" on the corner then
"C:\Windows\system32\wdfcoinstaller01005.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support"
I click Ok and then it loads for a bit and then tells me it encountered a problem installing (clearly) I've searched all over the forum and googled too but all I get are instructions on how to install but no trouble shooting
I have a mytouch 3g 1.2 and Windows Vista.
Bump
I too have vista and using the same steps. instead USBdeview doesn't seem to remove the drivers. but after I hiut uninstall I unplug and re plug my phone and Vista prompts me to install drivers. only it cant find them and the unlockr doesn't list the right usb drivers and I cant find them.
So in a nutshell I cant do ADB cause it cant find my phone. obviously, in debugging mode and not in debugging mode.
Should I try doing all this in Linux?
Linux will recognize it, you still have to "mount" the device by pulling down the "taskbar" and mounting.

Try downloading HTC Sync and installing it. Then plug your phone in and it will install the drivers. Worked like a charm for me
yes, download the new HTC Sync from the HTC website, 2.0.33 and it will work fine.
Or version 2.0.25

ADB drivers not working

Hello. I received the phone today. I had a rooted desire HD before this.
My windows 7 is newly installed so I had to install 32bit/64bit java SDK, and android SDK. I downloaded the usb drivers, the platform tool package and so on.
The problem is that, although the USB debugging is turned on on the G.Note, windows won't recognize it as a ADB Android Phone. Under 'devices' I can see:
- CDC Serial
- SAMSUNG_Android
Both with a "!" : needing drivers.
ADB is correctly installed, and if I type 'adb devices' in the prompt, no serial number of any device is displayed. If I try to start the root procedure (through the .bat file), WAITING FOR DEVICE : it just doesn't find the phone and nothing starts.
I tried searching manually for the driver: device - properties - SAMSUNG_Android - find driver manually - extra\google\usb-driver ...... but it doesn't install it !
I didn't have these problems with the desire HD....as long as the phone is not recognized as a Android Phone (without "!")....I can't start the root procedure !!
What am I doing wrong ??
Oh and also:
- tried changing USB port
- rebooted both systems
- uninstalled the 'SAMSUNG_android' device, then plugged it in again....same thing, not recognized as Android Phone
have you tried to install Kies?
i think i am stupid...that's the equivalent of htc sync right? i'll try again and hope that it will make the difference.
yeah, it should install the
right drivers. after that, be sure kies is closed properly in order to use odin.

Superclick One 2.3 Stuck On Starting ADB Server.

Hello Sir, I Am Using SuperOne Click 2.3.
First I Enable USB Debugging.
Then I Connect My Phone To Computer.
Then I Open Superclick One Then Click Root.
Then I Install Drivers.
Then Kill Server.
Then Starting ADB Server.
Now I Am Stuck On This. SuperClick One Stop Responding. Please Help Me Out. I Wait For More Than 30 Mins Per Nothing Happen..
Hi
I had the same problem.
The solution, for me, was to follow closely that_guy's advice about rooting the new Gingerbread firmware:
1) Dial: *#*#2846579#*#*
2) Go to projectmenu > background settings > log settings > log switch > set Log on
3) Reboot Phone
4) Switch USB Debugging ON
5) Download SuperOneClick v2.3.3
6) Plug your U8800 into your computer but DO NOT mount SD Card.
7) Run SuperOneClick and press the ROOT Button, and let it do its thing (say yes to install drivers if asked).
8) Your phone should now be Rooted.
9) You can now go back and turn logging off if you want.
I have highlighted the steps in bold that you did not say you had completed.
You need to follow each step.
I hope you are successful
I did everything you said but still same problem. I am using windows7 32 bit.

Try also the following:
1. Log onto an Administrator's account and try from this account.
2. Try to use a different USB port
3. With the phone connected, go into device manager, remove the phones drivers from Windows 7. Re scan and reinstall the drivers.

works every time for me just need the adb drivers and SDK to be installed
You did not state any other steps you took before trying to root. Try this all again and don't forget the parts I have put in Bold:
1) Untick Fastboot under applications
2) Tick USB Debugging and Mock Locations under development (or similar)
3) Dial: *#*#2846579#*#*
4) Go to projectmenu > background settings > log settings > log switch > set Log on
5) Download SuperOneClick v2.3.3 Official Link
6) Plug your U8800 into your computer but DO NOT mount SD Card.
7) Run SuperOneClick and press the ROOT Button, and let it do its thing (say yes to install drivers if asked).
8) Your phone should now be Rooted.

Keep at it - I took a while, but was successful in the end.
Try to flash another firmware version, it was my problem.
I was trying in the version V100R001C00B528G001 so i have downloaded V100R001C00B526G001 and root was easy.
Still no luck guys. I think I am missing something any option to be enabled in PC or mobile.i have enabled Usb debugging and am running as administrator.
And what is flashing ROM how to do it?
Thanks all of you for your support.

Computer USB Connection

I somehow hosed my USB Mass storage port after Kingo rooting and cannot get my computer to recognize my phone outside of charging it. The phone shows its connected as installer and will accept changes but nothing happens on the computer like loading drivers or opening files. My computer shows a yellow ? under USB Mass Storage Port when connected to the phone.
I have uninstalled everything (Kingo, Kies and Drivers) updated port drivers and still no luck. Disabled and enabled port. I reverted to stock slot on Safestrap and same issue. Downloaded updated drivers from Samsung and no change.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

one more: go to control panel -> device manager. If you see anything like samsung, android phone etc (check the usb tree there) - delete it (uninstall drivers) and reset PC.
