I have a streak, but its with 2.2 and launcher pro. how old the vibrant? willing to trade, but my streak is locked to at&t, though i bought it straight from dell mobile devices, not dell att crap. let me know. Also, i'm on Pennsylvania..where r u?

I know in the US they are, but what about in the UK?
Just got one from Amazon UK. It's 2.1. Maybe Dell sells 2.2 directly.

That's odd. I thought the unlocked ones never got 2.1 only the O2 ones.
Hey does anyone know how u can find out what kinda of streak u have. I got my dell streak from ebay and I don't know if it was an at&t or O2 or rogers. If there a way to find out?

all of those are locked to their respective companies. so, for example, an ATT streak will only work with ATT sim cards, and so on.. if you want more informations, look in settings/phone info for the baseband version.
When I got mine it was unlocked and the baseband is GAUSB1A131921-US. Any ideas?

The reason I ask is when u boot the phone up it comes I up with the O2 logo and on the baseband it says US. Soon I assume that the person who owned it before me bought it unlocked in the US and install the O2 software on it since 2.2 it was available at that point and the US version wasn't. I don't even know if that's possible. And if it is, how do I if something has been done to void the warranty.
Sorry I guess should have started with this bit... I am a noob with android.

As you all know, the cost for unlocking a Streak locked to AT&T can vary from free to well over $50. I want to use my Streak with T-Mobile, so in researching, I found an excellent solution for only £5. Go to imeicodes.co.uk and find the item for unlocking any AT&T Wireless phone. I purchased this yesterday (through Paypal) and about an hour later, I had my unlock code. It worked great!

Have you tried calling Att for the unlock code before? If so,any sucsess? Thinking about doing it but would like to have some feedback aswell.

Once AT&T *unlocks* the phone, can you upgrade it to Froyo (or Honeycomb?)?
Yes. I called and after explaining to them what the streak was, they put me on hold for five mins and then came back with tge code. I have bussiness care though...ymmv with the regular 611 chimps.

you dont need to unlock to get froyo, and unlocking wont automatically get you froyo. honeycomb isnt on any devices yet.
