only sense-roms?
i see another thing: there are only sense-roms updated. all the others not. i don't like sense, i prefer ADW launcher, which gives me better possibility to change homescreen behavior.
i hope, we get sense-less roms again, also for nand.

there is nothing really to do for them besides focus on nand or fixing a camera bug lol but i believe all focus is on nand

So just install ADW and when you press the home button make it your default, you wont see sense again...

Slowed down?
On the first page of the forum there are 7 roms that have been updated / released within the last 5 days, including new desire HD and desire Z based roms.
I don't really see how that's slow!

Everything has slowed down coz Microsoft is about to release WinPhone 7. So developers are waiting to grab 7 rom from Mondrian and port it to HD2. Thats the next big thing. Or maybe Meego rom is about to be released. I get very confused now. I want nand and I want 100% working Desire HD rom. I also want ubuntu .3 version. Anybody for Windows Vista and 7 Lite??????

Gee, Thanks! I really didn't know that there was a way round to get non-sense on sense. Thanks again. Will try that.

There is no need to release further Android versions without NAND....

Your funny. Some ppl like me want to boot it from sd.

ADW rocks, I can now install any of the builds - stability and features should (and are now) be my only concern YAY! I was thinking I was going to be stuck with MDeejays Evo 1.6 final build ebcause the theme is so slick...
As to why it's "Slowed down" if you look at the version numbers of the builds, MDeejay has obviously been converting entire ROMs to the HD2 - HD, Z, LEX, EVO etc. A straight conversion may take skill but trouble shooting a ROM or a Kernal takes TIME (and occasionally source code).
I have been enjoying the rush keep it up

I second that. I also think devs have done a good job so far and almost all stuff are working on the haret. Let's go for the nand version now. Cant wait for that. I say, now's the time for some Paypal'ing for the devs.

I knew this is not about Android Development, but HD2 XDA, dont have another part to post about other SO developments.
I have read today in irc, that Cotulla, NetRipper and Dcordes, are going star today the project of porting Meego to HD2.
Lets see who gona have the meeGo on device, HD2 or Nexus(who start as well a project).
I would love to see meego in my HD2.

Cotulla as done his work in NAND project, like he did in SPL and HSPL, now the issues of wifi must be done by other devs, because in cotulla device works fine.

Awesome, I've been waiting for this. It will be an easier full-fledged Linux distro to use on our hd2s than ubuntu, as its meant for phones.

if its the nokia modified image I will be a very satisfied camper (have you seen it? I mean my god it looks amazing)
but meego in itself is a good thing on our hd2...I can't wait because this is a true linux mobile OS to grace our phones
I heard there were issues in the 3d department from qualcomm so I'm not sure how it will function on the hd2
on the n1 it is a bit slow...
Still a long way to go though, since calls part based on alsa is just far from being usable...
all the best for bringing this to a good end!
OMG .. FIRST ANDROID AND NOW MEEGO ?!
Even Money (Donations) can't show how much we ALL APPRECIATE THE WORK !!

Search Google. It's a high end Linux based phone OS being developed by Nokia and Intel. Unlike android, its a full fledged Linux distro, and is designed for small screens, so its another good option of phone OS that we could run on our hd2s. It will be great to have wm6.5, android, ubuntu, meego, and wp7 all able to boot on our phones. It gives a lot of choice.

Quick question, so now that the Gingerbread SDK is released,,what does that mean? Do that mean that Devs will start making roms based off that or that the official Gingerbread 2.3 is right around the corner?
Any word on whether or not they decided to use that BlindType keyboard that they bought earlier?
I KNEW IT!! haha thank you

I'm not going to lie. I'm not impressed. Android's copy and paste icons look like something from about 10 years ago to me. I like HTC's version better.
And the updated ui does look a little better now that everything is black with green highlights. Still an ugly ui overall.
It just helps app developers get up to speed. People have tried to do roms from these but they come out very hacky at best. The source for 2.3 is needed for full roms. The is the sdk.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I suppose that HTC has it in development already so they can inlay Sense over top of this. Also, now all the Dev's can start developing their new Rom's with this base. Hopefully Flipz is still on top of his game! No telling how long it will be before Sprint is done with it. I would imagine they will hold up any official update for whatever they have to do. It's just a matter of time now.
I swear I've embedded videos on the forums here ...
Android 2.3 sure looks ugly. I guess I'll be making a theme that makes it look like Froyo.
it means devs can start making apps for it im i think , but knowing xda theyll do their thing and have roms out before the official release

Either way we probably won't see a official 2.3 device on Sprint for at least a few months.

+1 from me to
I'm looking forward to Ice Cream Sandwich. It's rumored to be out around June/July. Honeycomb is a Tablet OS. ICS is Android 2.4. I'm lovin Gingerbread on my HD2 and think ICS would only enhance the HD2 love.
I like being able to visit the local BestBuy and ask to see their Nexus S and then, after he brings it, say "Oooops...hehe....sorry...I already have one better than yours".

Cotulla wasn't the only one to get android and the linux kernel working in the first place... don't forget dcordes, netripper, letama, and markinus.... they were working on the project and got a lot accomplished before cotulla even joined the project.
This is really cool. But I think we can wait for Honeycomb for smaller screens or Ice Cream (IDK anymore if it will be Android 2.4 or what, there is way too big mess with this). It would simply be not convenient to use this OS on our 4,3" screens.
yeah i agree, and its very wide, hopefully someone could compress the screen resolution
It already runs on WVGA devices, as seen by running Honeycomb on the emulator at that resolution.
The question is whether it's worth it or not, as a lot of "native" functionality will be switched off at lower res displays. Only time (and great devs) will tell.
We should probably be getting more excited about Ice-cream (2.4) than Honeycomb.
2.4 will came out this summer, hope to see it on hd2!

So so true!!!
Honeycomb is not targeted at smartphones. Its a different matter that a few days back one of the guys changed some contrast settings only to discover that the underlying OS was Gingerbread. I guess they might have to enable call related functionality.

You don't even have cm or aosp working properly, a whole team hasn't managed to port sense over to the galaxy s 1. A sense port is in fact possible, but it will take ages and a great team to do the job, which I doubt will spent their time in which they could've made money on something a few users would kind of like. Get a professional team, pay them, and that is when you will see your proper working sense rom.
Don't get me wrong, there are people who would like to try, but they will come out disappointed, for they will have to create the entire processor sources and get them to work on a closed-source rom. Probability of a working sense rom are very low.
Miui on the other hand is a nice alternative, it looks good and is way easier to port.
Something I forgot to tell by the way, if your s2 has a tegra 2 processor and htc ever releases a phone with tegra 2, which is very unlikely, you are in luck. If you have a samsung processor you're out of luck, since htc probably won't ever use processors made by a concurrent.

windows phone 7 Os on SGS2

Hi
There are rumours floating around that Samsung is in the process of putting wp7 on SGS2 ( maybe a variant of it)
So was wondering if they did bring out one would it be possible to port wp7 onto out SGS2 sinse it would be the same hardware.
I would like to dual boot if possible( like the HTC HD2 ).. what do you guys think ?
cnet link Here
I've tried WP7 on both native and non-native devices and believe me, it works better on native devices, just like Android does.
Besides, it's fugly and too new to be even considered as an alternative to Android. Also, if it's a non-native device then you could have issues with registering it to its full capabilities.
And finally, I don't believe a word of that article. Sounds to me like someone's come out from under a bridge, looking for snacks.
* DANG DoUBLE POST * Didnt see the other post#
ANyways
I kinda like WP7 as I have HTC HD7 and I just love the facebook , twitter and email on my HD7, I still think android is not that good for emails
The only reason I love android more is cause of the apps, and googlemaps and the great old flash junkie in me which make me want android.
But yeah If some DEV does port it, it would be great ......
Oh I might be a happy bunny once I install mango as it seems to iron out some of the few problems currently WP7 user's have
I'd be interested in doing this. I would like to get on the development scene... Funny, I was thinking this the other day!
First, I have to build a basic C# app... Damn you High-School for taking my time!
Since I tried out Launcher 7 as my launcher and UberMusic as my music player, I've been very interested in having a proper WindowsPhone. If the clones are this good, how good should the original OS be?
It's looking very likely that I will be owning a WP7 device, if they open up the system. If I have to jailbreak to get basic things done like on iPhone, it's not even an option.

WP7 is actually pretty good. Stop being an Android fanboy.
It would be real treasure if Samsung gave us option to change our OS to Android or WP7 anytime we like...
This is basically the GS2 with WP7, minus the dual core processor.
