[Q] deodex problem - Droid X General

5. IMPORTANT: After you have run option 3, you MUST navigate to the xUltimate folder and find "origi_frame" folder, and delete "guava.odex". It's a bad file, and interferes with deodexing process.
Can someone tell me where I find this file, lol I just cant find it.
8. Go back into the xUltimate folder and copy "done_frame", and "done_app", and move them to the root of the sdcard.
I cant find these files either, I also did step 4 without deleting the guava.odex file, once I find out where the files are should I just start over or what. I know this is probably a stupid question but Im lost and I have searched for the answer everywhere before asking.

1. It's located in the same folder you ran the "Main" application from, once you finished option 3, locate "origi_frame" folder and navigate to "guava.odex" file to delete it, its right between framework-tests file and ime file.
2. The "done_app" & "done_frame" is located in the same location as the "Main" application.

They are not in the .zip... they are generated after some of the steps are done in the cmd and placed where ever the file was placed when you unzipped it and started with step 1. PM me and I will help you on gtalk

In the directory/folder that you unzipped xUltimate to and where the "Main.exe" executable is that you are running (most likely called xUltimate-v2.2.2), it should have created the following sub-directories:
(after successfully pulled the original system files by selecting option 1 & 2 of "main.exe")
origi_app
origi_frame
(after deodex was successfully run in option 3 & 4 of "main.exe")
done_app
done_frame

NHB extracting problems with 7zip and winrar

im trying to extract the nhb file from the open touch biggie ver 4.0. im on my last step and ive been looking around all day on how to extract that file. i have 7 zip and winrar and ive tried to use both but they would not work (i mean im know doin something right, lol) ive been reading all day because im reluctant to ask on here but i need help. what am i donin wrong. i read the noobs guide, the wiki guide and just bout every guide on here so please if you know can u help me. i just need this last step to finish my first flash
you downloaded the file, right? you should open the zip/rar file with 7zip or winrar. Then, drag/extract the file to your hardspl/uspl folder
yea i did dl it...that must be the step that i am missing dragging it to the hard spl folder. i used winrar to extract the files from the folder. then when the box comes up with the file drag it to the hard spl folder, then click that ruu folder? i think i might have to go back a re-read that last step because ive been so focused on getting that file out that i forgot what to do. thanks in advace for answering me
problem fixed. i was overthing things..after i downloaded the biggie file i extracted the file using 7 zip then i drug the file (nhb) and put it in the rom utility folder and ran it. problem solved this site is great. hopefully whoever else is searching for this problem finds this andit helps

Signing Structure and Contents

Ok, I've been trying this for 2 hours now and have read a dozen tutorials, heres all I need to know and if someone could help that would rock. I need to get an update.zip with 2 apks in it com.htc.framework.apk and framework-res.apk
I've tried a dozen different ways one way it says its missing the update script but most it just plain doesnt work, it seems when I sign it it puts the folder inside the zip and throws it all out of wack. Do i just zip a plain folder with nothing but those two files and the update-script? or is there something else I have to put in there?
With some help and an asprin maybe my headache will go away. Thanks in advance.

You need to put them in a folder called framework.then put that folder in a folder named system. Then zip the system folder with meta-inf folder. So you should endup with a zip that has two folders one the system folder with framework in it and the other folder should be the meta-inf.

Thank you. Just figured it out after testing a bunch of different ways of doing it, now I got that done and when I unpack it everything seems to be in order. I used fresh-pre-kitchen signing tool and it makes an update-script for me. However somethings messed with it and I dont think its my signing, its just not booting for me.

Um go to his thread, hit the download link then follow on from there?
Just use something like es file explorer then to move the files into your Android folder the same way you would on your pc, EXTREMELY straightforward!!!

The dev folder isn't needed for anything other than devs from what I remember, all you need to copy is the root folder (this goes in the android folder eg SD/Android/Root) and replace your existing zImage with the one included, simply put extract all minus the dev folder

problems with flashtool

im unable to make a ftf file with flashtool. i unzip the file. then search it, select it in source folder. The flashtool never opens the file and subfiles. It never displays in the left column. Ive started with a zip file, then unziped it. Ive also tried winRAR to extract the files. Im using 2.9.1 Java 1.6.0_24 os 6.1
Any help or tips would be appreciated
Hey, you must sure that in the zip file just one file .ftf, if so, extract it. If there are 4 files like system, data ... you must rename the .zip file to .ftf

OK, what you have is wolfbreaks rom, this is installed on your phone via xrecovery not an ftf file, if you want to install it you need to install xrecovery on your phone first, then install this from there.
You need a rooted rom for this, so is your rom rooted and what version are you on 2.1 or 2.3
I have x recovery on my phone know. That's how I upgraded from 2.1 to 2.3, because my phone is sim unlocked. Super user is v2.3.6.1 I followed a thread on the upgrade. I can link which thread when I'm home.

Snapdragon Camera V2 on N6P/N5X?

Has anybody figured out a way to install Snapdragon Camera on new nexus devices?
I have tried flashing the zip file as well as manually placing require .apk and .so files but it doesn't work. Camera app crashes as soon as it launches.

(using ES file explorer)
1. extract the zip to sd card somewhere
2. under "system/priv-app" > create a folder called "SnapdragonCamera"
3. give the folder "drwxr-xr-x" permissions
4. copy "SnapdragonCamera2.apk" to that folder and give it "-rw-r--r--" permissions
5. Create "lib" folder to "SnapdragonCamera" folder and give it the same permissions as the parent folder has ("drwxr-xr-x")
6. inside the "lib" folder make "arm" folder (give it the same "drwxr-xr-x" permissions)
7. inside that "arm" folder paste two ".so" files - give them "-rw-r--r--" permissions
8. reboot

Same here. Moved to CM13 over the weekend hoping it would work. Tried packages from all over the place, flashable, manual install, whatever, none worked.
Just found out about this camera and was hoping to test it out since the features look great, then I came across this topic and was disappointed. Surprised no one has put this together for this phone yet. Really I'd like to know why Qualcomm doesn't release and maintain this themselves though.
Any new discoveries by any chance? Would love to have it on my angler.
Would be great for my bullhead.
