[FIXED]help, phone stuck at boot screen! - Galaxy S I9000 General

I tried this method ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8366966#post8366966 --- to root my phone and now my phone is stuck at the boot screen!
Luckily i wrote down the info before i tried to root!
HGJG3 2.6.29 [email protected]#2
that's all i know about it
I tried to flash it first with the CF-Root-JPH-v1.1.tar.
after that caused it to be stuck at boot, i tried it with 2 diff pits - 20100513, 20100803.
I can manage to get into recovery and the odin flash thing.
I've only had the phone for a few hours now, i've EXTENSIVELY searched google for over an hour!
however for some reason the xda seach won't work
I searched google with xda in front of my searches aswell with no luck. So sorry if this has been covered!! (it probably would've)
I understand that if i can get into recovery i'm not bricked or anything, but i'm a COMPLETE noob at this so could anyone PLEASE help me?
Thanks ALOT,
Brandon.

Have you tried vol up + home button + power button
Wipe Data
Internal sd
and cache ?

lol yep, like 10 times!
Luckily chainfire helped me.
I tried to root my phone when i was on the wrong firmware!
lol, Thanks for the reply!!

yea, pretty much unable to brick a sgs =)

[Q] Stuck in Samsung Recovery Utils

Hey everyone!
I have never posted anything on a forum before, so please tell me if I do anything wrong. I have searched everywhere to find a solution for my problem, but I found nothing.
Today I accidentally got into the Samsung Recovery Utils of my galaxy 3. I have done nothing to the phone, all original, nothing flashed or rooted. But now I can't get out of this mode, if I restart the phone it automatically goes back into it.
Does anyone know how to get out of there?
Thank you a lot for helping me!
And I hope that this is the right forum to ask this question, as I said, I have never posted in a forum before.
Usually you should be able to reboot from recovery mode. Scroll to reboot Phone with the Volume Keys and klick with the Home Key... Your phone should restart.
Otherwise remove the battery, wait a few moments, plug the battery back in and try it again.
Good Luck
Thank you, I tried both several times, but I always end up in the recovery mode... I have no idea how i can get out of there! Do you maybe know something else I could do?
do the battery thing mentioned above. turn on your phone with vol up+ vol down+home +power (hold them for a while) and then try rebooting from the menu
here's the solution

Hey.. If ur on a Android 2.1 firmware and stuck on recovery every time...
just use the volume keys and chose the option "reboot" ... by the way.. its on default there.
after that just press the central key or called the "home key" two times consecutively..
ur good to go
I tried this several times, but I always end up in the Recovery Menu. When I pull out the battery, restart the phone and hold all those buttons including the power button my phone shows the Samsung Galaxy Logo and then reboots again, and then shows the Logo and reboots again. Only without holding the power button, and only the other ones I get into the Recovery Menu again. I really hope there is a way to get out of this mode! Thank you for all your help so far!
Hey I just saw the post in front of my other one
So yes I'm on Android 2.1 if that helps. And I tried this method several times, but when my phone restarts I always end up in the recovery mode by pressing nothing.
But thank you
try wipeing data and cache
I tried that out, but still rebooted into recovery mode all the time.
Because I couldn't find anything that solved my problem I just decided to flash my phone to a newer original firmware via odin. I just finished flashing and everything works fine as it did before, till now tho. I used the tutorial that is on this forum for flashing my I5800 and it worked perfectly fine, thank you for everyone's help anyway!
Now I hope that they will soon bring back froyo on kies, because it was deleted from the servers again today in Germany so I can't update. Hope that will happen soon!
I would recommend to forget about KIES... I am sorry but this software is a piece of crap!
Keep using the Odin Flasher. If you have some spare time install gsams nice lagfix and be happy about a very fast Froyo I5800
Edit:
Another funny thing about Kies: You can download the current version by using a US Proxy Server, which is also free of these annoying error messages at startup. But still there are much better alternatives, and the newest version (Kies 5 I think) is also incompatible to the I5800 Phone :-/
Yes, I really hate kies, that software is nothing good!
I think I will follow your advise to continue using odin flasher. Which froyo version is the best to install? I still have 2.1 on my phone. and then how do you install that lagfix? Sorry for all those questions, but I'm new to all this.

you are new to this? ok, then go to the development section and see the READ FIRST thread
I have already read through those threads, I just meant that I just started some days ago, I'm not a pro, I'm only someone who just started haha
So today I flashed to xxjpf froyo and I'm having no problems so far. everything is fine so my problem is solved and in addition I have froyo now

[Q] HTC Wildfire bricked? need help /will give reward

hello i just wanted to see if i still could get help with my useless device
Ok so yesterday ive rooted the phone and today i tried to install cyanogen mod 7 rom
i used rom utility which i ve downlaoded from android marketplace
now sometimes my phone boots and gets to the logo loop
ive heard that clearing cache and settings would work but i cant access these menus as my hboot is not reacting to my key presses , i tried to reflash the phone but nothing came with success.
I used android sdk and RUU but nothing with success .
maybe anyone would teamview me or give me step by step tutorial how to get this phone alive again would be appreciated
You will be rewarded
You rooted the Phone with a App from the Market?
You need if your HBoot is lower then 1.* the unrEVOked Tool.
If its 1.* there is no way to flash it.
Okay, maybe it worked with yout root app from the market, dunno, but i dont think so.
So you cant access while pressing volume down (keep holding) and switching on the phone the bootmanager? oO thats no good.
The Logo will stay up to "15minutes (<-?)" after flashing a new Rom. In this time its possible, that you Phone restarts automaticly. its normal. Switch it on an wait up to an half hour. If it keep staying in the boot sequence while showing the logo you got a problem .
I think there isnt a more unsave way than a "Flash by teamviewer". You have also pay attention to the phone while flashing. on TV you cant keep an eye on it.
But how can you reflash your phone without getting access to the bootmanager/ HBoot? I think you habe to access the clockwork to flash cm7 *thinking*.
If u nowhow to use adb try n get a adb logcat if possible
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Hi borris and daddyspud thanks for your reply ,i cant move around in hboot ,my hboot version i 0.80.0003
Ive rooted it using unrevoked with clockwork mod on it.
now even when i get it to boot it just loops in cyanogen animation, should i leave it for 15 minutes to do its thing?
also im new to this so i dont know anything about sdk and adb,all i did is saw the tutorials using it ,so i thought i would use it just to give it a go
HBoot 0.8 is rootable, so its okay.
If there is still an animation while you see the CM Logo everything is fine.
If it freeze for some minutes is there a problem. The Animation shows you "i am working / installing".
Yes, let him do his thing for some Minutes.
I think everting should be okay and after some minutes it will work like normal.
It reboots sometimes it self, but this is also okay.
I dont know... does the new CM7 also install a new HBoot? So its possible why you cant move around in it.
Do you wait about 10 seconds before you try to move around in it? Because in the first seconds it looks like it freezed an then it start a test or something. this takes about 10seconds then you can use it.
Its not bricked if its turning on.
Can you get into recovery? If you can try flashing the 4.1 kernel.
If that doesnt help, go into recovery and do a full wipe. Clear cache and dalvik, and under partitions menu format everything except SD card. Then flash CM7, then the 4.1 kernel
Remember first boot will take 10-15 minutes. Be patient. If youve done everything right you shouldnt have any problems
Hi and thanks for cooperation ,i left my phone on cyanogen animation for an hour and nothing is happening just animation loop constantly.
I've just tried hboot and it searches for the PC 49 DIAG and says not found after that it freezes and i cant use any menu navigation buttons . in hbot and fastboot.
I dont even know what to do next
Much help appreciated guys
oO
thats weird.
the PC49DIAG is a part of the rom it self. So i think you have to try to re-flash it. Did you try it with or without a goldcard?
before you flash your phone whipe ALL datas on it!!!
If i start in bootloader mode i get also all the "missing" errors but i can still use the vol up/down buttons to navigate around.
That should help.
I think you did something wrong while flashing.
the root failed?
you got an error while flashing?
goldcard?
Try to flash a RUU from shipped roms. DONT flash a Froyo rom, you will get the HBoot 1.* if you do this.
Recoverymode doesnt work in the hboot?
If you try recoverymode you will get a blackscreen with an triangle.
most say "press the power button" to enter the recovery mode. if this doesnt work press the "volum up button (hold it) then the power button" this should enter recovery mode.
**EDIT**
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Buzz use a www-rom its without a branding. and use a RUU rom.. and pls dont use a froyo rom. after flashing this your root is gone i think but your phone will be alive again.
dont try the cm7 this time. use a stock rom.
is it alive again?
i talked today to someone who hat exactly the same problem like you.
it was simple to fix the problem... he (you also?) didnt
whipe the phone before he flashed the cm7. thats why it wont stop looping
in the cm7 animation.
after whiping and reflashing everything was fine.
... did you whipe it b4 flashing?

[Error/Bug] CMW 4.0.1.5-atrix3.3 [SOLVED]

yesterday i found a kind of error/bug in this version of cmw, and i mange to reproduce it, so heres what i did
enter recovery
wiped dalvik-cache
then i was at the begining of the advance section and i pressed vol up, vol down, vol up and the back key was disabled, then i pressed vol down, vol up, vol down, vol up and the back key was enabled
ipressed the back key and it worked
then i enter partion sd card, i selected 0MB and it started partitioning (didnt ask for swap size), it finished and i reboot
when it boot the Morotola logo was gone and insted there was a menu with boot options
tried to enter recovery but it was gone, like if i erase it
power down the device, power up, normal boot
when the boot finished the screen was all messed up, the 4 buttons (menu, home, back, search) didnt worked, if i press them is like touching the screen
is like if the screen got bigger
after this i search hera and google, i found a coplu of post with similar problems were they say that with a wipe the problem would be fixed, but no
wipped everithing using CMW and fastboot, flashed 4 different roms, the problem is still there
here are some images
yea ive had it happen i dont rhink ive seen it after i updated my cwn

haha i TOTALLY did that by accident the other day..
I had to
1) Use fastboot reflash Romracers recovery
2) Luckily my internal SD card was still there, just restored a backup i had.
2b) Like you, my screen was messed up. Luckily I had backed up my pds partition a long time ago. Using fastboot, I just flashed it back.
3) The logo was gone, but there was another thread to creating new logos -- using fastboot flashed a new logo.
4) all is well.

It happened the same to me... and I did all what the guy who created this post did.
But, Why I CANT flash the nandroid? ... I can flash any other custom rom, but not my own nandroid.
Do anyone knows what really happened to us?
We could fix the "visibles" problems... but I really think something's still broken inside.

[Q] ms2 - bootloop - last chance?

hi there...
just installed CM7 this weekend. worked fine for 2 days
After restarting the ms2, it got stuck in a bootloop.
I can flash a sbf with rsd lite from, finishes OK, but when it says, rebooting, well...
it still stuck in a bootloop.
In recovery mode, i can do a cache wipe and factory reset. But there is a error message at the bottom, telling:
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/caller
Could I successfully flash with RSDlite from Linux? which version?
Is there a way to restore the ms2 from dev console?
Thanks a lot
Do you test to Wipe Data with stock moto recovery ?
Here step 7 to 11
I think your request must be on "General" section
I suspected it might be related the CyanogenMod intstall. But move to "general" if necessary
Have done steps 7 - 11
but still ms2 bootloops
OMG - if broke it - my wife kills me
I hope your wife don't kill you LOL
See this thread and particulary this with r2beta0 tips:

I have do this (all step 1 to 11 because "boot up the phone manually" ) with the sbf 2.2.2 officiel but modify whith this post :

I don't know if this is going to help, but you could try that anyway:
- Download MotoAndroidDepacker (utility to unpack/repack SBF's)
- Choose one stock SBF (2.2 FR for example)
- Open and unpack it with the utility
- Rename CG66.smg to CG37.smg (you are going to use preinstall image as data image, both are ext3, but has different sizes. Don't know if it's going to work).
- Use utility to open folder with unpacked images and repack it
- Put phone in bootloader mode and flash the repacked SBF (rebuilt/firmware.sbf)
- Post results here

I did exactly the same, as in the other thread.
And thank god, my ms2 booted up
So everything seems fine for now und no one should get killed
Many Thanks!
Nice for you
Moved to proper forum.
Hi all, Emiliano from Italy. I firstly wanted to thank you all for your support.
Even being my first post here, I've been following you since some time.
My problem looks exactly the same: bootloop... bootloop... bootloop.
No matter how many I tried flashing back the original ROM for my M2 (SBF file always worked before!!! so I'm sure is the correct one for my smartphone).
I tried also the procedure with depacking described above with no progresses.
Anyway I already had noticed that after renaming cg66 to cg37, depacker wasn't able to see it in the list of cgs before repacking, so that final fbs was 300MB less.
Something wrong I made? (tried on 2 pcs with Vista Home and Business)
Unluckily I cannot even try to wipe data because I cannot enter in recovery mode (On + X -> Android robot with mark -> but nothing happens after pressing magnifying lens or any other key).
Could someone, please, help me before using my bricked M2 for building a new house?

Hi Amir4Life,
thanks for reply and for your suggestion.
Unluckily I cannot access recovery mode.
All I get when pressing X is the green robot with Exclamation mark, but no matter which key I press after, it gets stuck at that point (so that I'm bound to take away battery to turn smartphone off) and cannot access or see any menu to operate wipe.
Tried also reflashing other roms through rds lite (bootloader works efficiently) or through ubuntu live cd "sbf_flash system", but the only fsb that always worked for me turns out to be a bootloop when rebooting.
Unluckily nothing seems to help me in this situation, so far.
It's still a bootlpop and no access to recovery mode.
Thanks anyway for your help and happy and special new year to you all!
At the 'exclamation sign + green android guy' screen, you have to press 'vol up + vol down' together.
Now you will get the options like 'wipe data' etc. etc. Scroll through options using vol up or vol down and select using power button.

Thanks Sahilarora,
If I had read you before I would have saved a lot of time trying all possibile combinations of keys on the keboards (since magnifying glasses didn't work)!!
Then just by chance I discovered myself volume up + down while pressing chaotically all buttons and it worked to my best suprise, showing me finally the belated list of options, together with blessed wipe data factory
Since yesterday evening my Milestone 2 is wonderfully working again, as fresh as a daisy!
Thank you so much for your contribution, hoping it could help also Amir4Life and oll pthers in a similar situation.
Happy new year (started in the best way).
Glad for you, I was about to tell to do what sahilarora911 told ya,
I expect i m the only one who stays with brick'd phone... my luck.

[Q] Frozen on Recovery Booting...

All right, I've spent a couple of hours not trying to sort this out, searched countless threads and articles but still have no found a fix.
Have the S4, was rooted and was attempting to put a custom recovery on it philz_touch to be specific. It passed in Odin perfectly fine, but when I went to reset it, it just reads "Recovery Booting...." and does absolutely nothing at all. I've tried holding Vol Up+Home+Pwr same thing, Vol Dn+Home+Pwr same thing, and finally I've tried powering it on regularly but with the same result. My PC will not recognize it and I'm pretty much at a loss as to what to do. Any threads I found point to wiping everything in recovery... but it won't go anywhere at all from the Recovery booting screen. Did I really just essentially destroy the phone? If I could at least get odin to recognize it... Well I'm going to try and convince myself to head to bed and let this wait till morning. Many thanks in advance for any help.
once booting into recovery appears try letting go of volume up ..hope that helps

You need to provide more info to get help. Did you update to the latest MJA software and then try to install recovery? Are you on MF9 still? Etc., we can't help if we don't have all the details on what you were doing.
