[Q] About rooting - Click General

well i didnt root my phone but im actually thinking about it so i want to ask you guys a few questions..
1) my android isnt english (its turkish) so if i root my phone and after few months later i change my mind and i want the default one back. can i have it with all the same exact functions/menus/dictionaries in my language back? i mean my recovered files will be copied just the same way? like i never rooted?
2) if 1 is yes, then can i get those dictionaries to my new rooted one? just for sms typing.. menus and things arent so important tho..
Thanks..

It is possible to unroot your phone. Although in the process all data on your phone will be lost!
You have to backup. When unrooting, use MyBackup, because it's sadly the only way to restore data without root.

Yes, it's possible. But you must find the official turkish RUU.

I don't understand what you mean.. If you root it, and you keep the original firmware, you can get the files from the internal memory (ex. with rootexplorer). But I don't know why you need dictionaries..

Just to clear things out since there is two conflicting answers, francians is right about the unrooting process. The official turkish RUU will unroot your phone given that it contains the bootloader. Flashing back the original RUU will also set your phone back to how it was when you bought it, that is, with all the functions/menus/dictionaries.

dictionaries.. not like english-turkish dictionary.. im not talking about applications here.. what i want to say is, the dictionaries for auto completion when im typing.. or corrections..
for example;
when i write pwncil it corrects me to pencil..
or when i type penc and i press space bar it writes "pencil" (but in turkish of course )

Prototype x10 running 007

Hi all, before writing this i spent hours reading through the forums for answers and found this to be on hell of a forum, nice work!
This probably should have gone to the x10 debranding thread so if any mods are here and think that that is a better place for it, please, transfer it.
Anyhu, here's the sit...
So i'm from Croatia, Europe and i got my prototype x10 from Poland. It was really cheap so i didn't complain but i just recently found out that i'm running R1DA007 which probably none of you have. I've had the phone for about 2 months i think and it's been one hell of an adjustment from my old w810i...
The problem is, when i run SEUS it says that there are no updates available. The phone is unlocked and my carrier is Tele2 but i don't think that has anything to do with my problem.
I really have no idea what would happen if i tried to debrand this phone and get the 016 update that way. I'm guessing none of you know the answer as well but some of the experienced users might have an idea of what i'm getting myself into.
The thing is, i don't have any insurance for the phone nor do i have the money to buy a new one so i won't do anything which isn't at least 99% sure to work. There are no guarantees in life so i'm not asking for 100%.
With that update, i'm hoping to get a better software solution for my camera which is excellent in macro shots but sucks big time in landscape shot and such, take a look: img707.imageshack.us/img707/8921/dsc0064nv.jpg
Also, the keyboard just sucks. Hitting "a" or "l" is almost impossible from the first attempt so i tried installing this: xperiax10.net/2010/04/07/installing-the-htc-keyboard-on-the-xperia-x10 - but with little luck. I can now see the HTC_IME mod under locale & text and i click on the check box but still, the original android keyboard remains.
Also the white keyboard was "automatically" replaced by a grey /black one which i liked a lot more that the original white one but then it "automatically" disappeared after i restarted the phone. I couldn't find an option to change the current white one, how do i do that?
I need your help guys, any ideas/comments are welcome. Thanks in advanced.
You can't update your X10 until a flasher for it comes out.
at first i would choose the "repair" option in SEUS.
SEUS will then download your current firmware from the server.
you will need it if you want to try the debrand-option and also when something goes wrong.
PS: does your pre-version still have the front-cam in ?
It won't work. SEUS sends a query to the server with TAC and CDA. If one of them is not found then it doesn't update.
I've a proto and I cant update or repair

sorry for my ignorance, flasher for the prototypes or for the regular x10 devicer or it doesn't matter
is a flasher something that has to do with the device being rooted first? so i have to wait for the root and than wait for an application (i presume?) that can
flash my rom?

can you access the bootloaders or do you still get the permission error?
Yes, you need an application that can flash X10. From what I heard SETool team should have X10 flashing and unlocking soon.
interesting, so i flash it with just the updates or i have to have the whole package?

Guessing your going to have to do a full flash, but why not when cooked ROMs are about.
Can you see if you can extract the boot.img from your device?
sure, just tell me how do i do that and i'll try
i asked about doing the full flash because then i'll loose all my programs, data etc...i don't loose those when just updating, right?
No point.
1. You can't flash it back
2. I have already given it to Balsat who wanted to test it out
sorry i didn't get this
are you saying that there's no point in doing a full flash or?
edit: i get it now

are you sure that there are no repair-FW's for the proto on the server ? SEUS seems to know the phone ..
ok, thanks
the SEUS app doesn't let me choose anything, when i connect it, that is the only thig that it says, no repair/install options
you need to use the EMMA tool from sony ericsson to update prototypes, you also need to have a working user and pass for it
hm, i don't have it but i might be able to get one
i'll ask the guy who gave me the phone
ps. would that mean that i could update it to 016 or up to as far as prototypes were tested?
You need Emma OA or R&D access.
could you calrify just a little bit please? btw. thank you all, you've been most helpful
it means (if you have access to it) that you could upgrade to any X10 firmware released

Downgrading advice (2.37) i want to get rid of pre-installed apps.

Hi,
I have seen this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152233
It's a very interesting.
Basicaly i have a HTC Desire HD on Orange. Orange put like 10 - 15 stupid apps on there that cant be deleted. If i followed the down grading guide could i then un-install the orange apps pre-loaded on the stock rom and then re-upgrade to 2.3.3?
I'm quite nervous to risk my phone when i am not 100% sure of what i am doing....
If there is another way to uninstall locked apps on 2.37 without downgrading that would be great.
Any advice is appreciated.
Kind Regards
Chris

I rooted DHD any shiprom. You don't need to downgrade 1.32 . I will post GUIDE later...
You don't need to downgrade. What I would do (not sure if it's the easiest way but probably is) is root, then install Titanium Backup. You can uninstall and freeze (similar to uninstall) system apps with TB.
EDIT: Actually, you might have to downgrade if you want to root, since you're on 2.37. Not sure, though, haven't used official ROM's for a while.

Change SM-N9006 firmware to US?? HELP...

I am a total newbie to the Android OS... I have been using the iPhone ever since smart phones ever came out. I am currently in China, and purchased a SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 3 SM-N9006. I am not Chinese, so I can't read any Chinese. I have already changed my language options in the settings menu, but still, there are some complications in the applications that are always in Chinese, and I can't seem to change it back to English. The SAMSUNG store app for downloads are in Chinese, and other basic apps are in Chinese as well. I was wondering if there is any way possible to have the phone's firmware in English as if it were a phone bought in the US.... Please.. I have been searching all over the forums looking for answers... PLEASE.. ANY HELP PLEASE.... if there is a way to get this done, whether by rooting or ROMS (which I, honestly, do not understand how to do)..... could I please have a detailed, step-by-step version of what I need to do?
VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.... THANK YOU COMPUTER GENIUSES!!!!
:good::good::good:
The stores read of your sim card and ip address. So in theory if you were in an English speaking country, it'd show in English

I think changing the CSC to a different country will help you but it may cause other issues (with your mobile network for example)

AFAIK, the N9006 has some complications to it. I don't think you will find any custom ROMs.
If the language of the apps hasn't changed with the language of the system, they must be hard coded in the APKs.
You could try this. Root it, make a nandroid backup and push APKs from the standard N9005 ROMs to your system.

If the sim/location IP are reporting you in the US then yes, the language will be English AFAIK.

Install a custom recovery. Search the forums. There was a link for rooting/installing CWM on the N9006.
There will be an option for taking a backup in the recovery.
After that, just replace the APKs in the system partition with other APKs with some app like root browser.
I also have a N9006. Best bet is to root it and put google apps on. I haven't been able to find out if the firmware is compatible with the n9005 as far as I know the n9005 o ly come in 32gb and the N9006 is a 16gb only.
After you root you can delete all the Chinese apps.
Got a tutorial of how to root using urdlv here.

Umm not sure if it can be done without, you could try and if no good you'd have to use one.
Get yourself an sd card. You can't access internal memory so you are screwed until you get one...
You need to also tell us what version of Android you are on as the can be a deciding factor in what you need to do... Some things that will fix one version of android won't help the next... If you don't know what this means you should do A LOT of reading before trying this stuff again, read about Kitkat and Jellybean...

You right, i should read about it alot more.
I rooted my Galaxy s Advanced already with a noob guide, so i fould it would be easy to do it again.
Guys, im verry frustrated now, im a real noob who fold he could do this easily, without thinking or reading anything i tried to flash my demo unit.
Now i have a huge problem because this phone is not mine.
Anyone who has a solution, the thing earlier pronounced in this topic didnt help.
Get yourself a stock rom and flash it using ODIN and stock recovery might do the trick but make SURE you flash the CORRECT ROM.
Correct rom depends on what you had running. If you where running kitkat you MUST flash kitkat again. If you had 4.3 you better stick to that until it's up and running again.

In my country (India), they just keep the Snapdragon version (official is the Exynos) for DEMO pieces and just rely on the region lock to keep people out.
I tried so hard to buy one of them, but nobody agreed. Finally got mine from overseas.

[Unmodified] Pre-rooted firmware for SM-G361F

Hi everyone,
Today I am posting this thread because of some idiots who are now sharing pre-rooted firmwares for SM-G361F that are full of bloats.
I am sick of that, this is why I upload the archive of the first pre-rooted firmware I got that was at least clean.
You can download it here: https://mega.nz/#!oqpRhZJZ!B18uTiB3TH-QfChoqjgWCNmaPjqInPZbFyI4u9-T8s4
Note: This firmware is ONLY for Samsung Galaxy Core Prime SM-G361F devices with AOG1 build.
Of course I don't own the firmware and I didn't root it, I just keep the right to upload it.

Pre rooted
Hey,can you find SM-G361F pre rooted version for this device?
BaseBand G361FXXU1AQA1
Build number G361FXXU1AQD1
I can't find it anywhere
I love what you're doing. All other pre-rooted ROMS are full of trash. Could you make it for G361FXXU1APA3?
Hum... OK guys thanks for the love but I have to remember you something.
I am not a developer yet and truly not a ROM unbloater: I didn't "disinfect" the firmware, I just reuploaded it (well after a fast check, I found I've already prevented about that, just read the thread please...)
So no dudes I can't do that, sorry. I COULD eventually do that, removing bloats and extract system image to make a flashable shouldn't be as complicated, but I do not have time.
Sorry to disappoint you.
Hey Atronid, you rock! I have the AOL1 but intend to give it a try cause I already rooted it but it's full of bloast. Do you know if I can flash another pre-rooted firmware considering I did this already? could this be harmul? -brickful? )-

I don't think doing this will brick your device, but careful. Ensure the usal requirements are here (OEM unlock, USB debug just in case...) and you made a backup, also in case something goes wrong.
But if you're rooted you got plenty tools that can remove bloats from your device, but I hope you're not easily scared because once removed system may spam that the bloat you just uninstalled has stopped. You can get rid of that by just rebooting your phone.
So you don't need to reflash any firmware if you just want to clean your phone up.
Yes, you're right. The problem was that the apps I tried to remove other apps weren't the right ones, but now that's sorted thankfully On the other hand, as I couldn't find an Android 6 ROM for my phone (not even a sorry recovery.... ) in the end I set my mobile to install new apps on the sd card by default. Actually it works similarly to the app Link to SD, so a part of it is on the SD card and the rest (like the data it generates) in the device storage, despite all the tutorials sell this method as "Installation directly on your SD card". You need a computer and official Android development tools (SDK). In case it's of any interest for anyone I'll include the tutorial I followed, but it turns out I'm not allowed to post links yet, so the title of the article was Cómo instalar aplicaciones DIRECTAMENTE en la tarjeta SD from androidjefe website. In English, How to: Force Android to automatically install apps to SD card from softonic website
I hope it helps

I don't think doing this will brick your device, but careful. Ensure the usal requirements are here (OEM unlock, USB debug just in case...) and you made a backup, also in case something goes wrong.
But if you're rooted you got plenty tools that can remove bloats from your device, but I hope you're not easily scared because once removed system may spam that the bloat you just uninstalled has stopped. You can get rid of that by just rebooting your phone.
So you don't need to reflash any firmware if you just want to clean your phone up.

Read first post. I don't think it will work if you have a build other than AOG1.
And you should not use TWRP to flash like this. Use Odin and Download mode instead.
Will this rooted firmware work with my SM-G361F phone? Need advice...
Hi there,
Will this rooted version work with my phone?
I'm new here and need some help and advice re Rooting this Samsung phone SM-G361F - I'M NO TECHIE but have ability to following instructions and make connections etc. My phone details are below.
Baseband G361FXXU1ASC1
Build LMY48B.G361FXXU1AQD1
Patch level is 2017-4-01
Security software version ASKS 1.2_161011
I did once try rooting a Samsung tablet using Odin and it all worked OK, but that was a while ago.
How important is it to get the identical build or baseband? Anything else I need to check?
I was trying initially trying to change the phone's MAC address, as I was experimenting with the phone, however I could not use an App to do this as it stated phone that the phone needs Rooting first for App to work. Also tried Terminal Emulator app but it kept failing to work as I was probably, unable to input the text commands required correctly.
I hope someone can please help and advise me on this.
M
Kind regards
