Add language to device (HTC Legend) - Legend General

Hy all,
is it possible to add a language for my phone?
I would translate it, and make everything but I don't know how can it be done.

You'll be surprised how many languages it comes with, try more locale on the market and see if your locale is available

Unfortunately it doesn't come with Indonesian. And am sure there are many other popular languages missing.
So I would like to know a better answer to the question of the OP also.

I want to make hungarian language, 'cause I think its not made for the Legend. I searched it for day and night but I can't find it on the internet. So my straight question is: how to make and add an extra language to my phone?

LG KS20 Language

Hey everyone,
First post here, but I've been reading for a while, since I was deciding on a new phone.
Anyhow, judging by the title you can probably guess what I'm interested in. I recently bought this phone as I'm studying abroad in Greece. But my Greek isn't that good and apparently the phone (or windows mobile 6, I'm still new to this) is hard coded in Greek.
I really want to change the language, and I know a few things about computers I believe
So, is there anyone knows if there is a way around this? I'd prefer not to flash my hard drive as making a 350 euro phone a brick with no warranty seems to not entice me.
1) Is the language embedded in the LG KS20 or Windows Mobile 6
2) Is there a string in a .dll or something I can change to reset the language to English? Or, any software you guys know of capable of doing this? Or should I just go back to the company and ask them to mail me a new one (which will prob take a month )
*Ps: I saw the plugin thread that seems to be a hot topic, but I saw that it was originally in French or Dutch (not sure what ROM was dumped) and was translated to English. But I didn't know if it was the same for all language, as I said I'm new to this.
Best wishes, and hope I can get some feedback,
Sheky

Changing the system language on the fly?

Dear Friends,
I am going to buy an Android soon from internet without T-Mobile contract in Germany. It will be in German language, so I would like to change the language into English. At this point I want to know if there is option in the settings to change the system language to English on the fly or one has to reflash (that's the word I know from my experience with the HTC-prophet) the ROM?
Thanks for your time on this silly question, but I will be counting on you for answer fellas

HD2 Language change !!!

I read a few threads regarding the HD2 but I didn't found a clear answer to my problem:
I wanna buy a HD2 but the language on it I understood that is German.
The person who sell's it don't know to tell me if it have also English language, or can I put myself English language on it !
Thank you for an urgent answer in order to decide if I change my 3GS or I will wait for another offer !
Cheers !!
Which threads did you read then ?
Cause most of them would tell you it cannot be done just now.
Other threads would tell you that you CAN change the Sense homescreens language with a registry hack.
That's the bottom line.
Thank you for clearing me on this matter ... So I think I will look for another offer !

completely lost - adding a language

First of all, I'll go ahead and apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge.
I purchased a usa tmobile hd2 last week. I was told it could support THAI language. (purchased the phone for my gf)
But, once we took it home - it was not an option. Figuring this was one of the latest phones.. I haven't returned it yet!
however, I have no clue on how to start. I've been reading tutorials but so far.. nothing makes sense.
So my question:
Is there a simple way of adding THAI to this phone?
?
what do you want your phone to do? do you want all the language on your phone to read thai or you want to be able to just read your language in certain programs like e-mails. also do you want to be able to input in thai???
please be more specific
^ korean flag.. I'm also korean
anyhow.. figured it out. (somewhat)
found a .cab file that allowed "thai" to be an option under language/region settings.
so, my gf can now read emails from her friends.
Now, I installed a thai keyboard.. but when you send texts or emails, they show up as "?" marks.
Ideally, I think my gf would prefer the entire phone to be in thai
whole phone

there are couple threads on the windows app and developments thread that allows your gf to change every font on her phone to thai. there is also a reg edit you can do to get other languages on your phone. do a quick search. as far as the ? i believe the receiving party's phone has to support other languages. pm me if you need farther assistance. good luck
just type in language support in the search engine

Go to the settings ("Einstellungen"). Then select Language & input (German: "Sprache ...") and then "Sprache auswahlen"
ok so i was sure you wouldnt understand me.
that is why i attached 2 pictures.
i am already in that menu and there is no language other than german to select
please take a look

So you're screwed. Bring it back. It only has German. No possibility to switch to another locale, no matter how hard we try to understand you.
i understand that this could be a solution yes.
but i was thinking maybe somebody knows if i upgrade to 3.1 with usb host cable....maybe that would work?
and also since that 3.1 rom image is taken directly from google, shouldn't void my warranty right?
i am waiting couple more hours for more opinions maybe someone here can help me!!
then i take it back to the store
i can tell you this thing has ruined my user experience ...a lot!

I think it's to early to tell if the 3G Verizon 3.1 image might work on a German 3G Xoom. If I were you I would trade it for the Galaxy Tab 10.1v. They should be available in Germany by now. It's a perfect Honeycomb tablet and will support English. (You need to double check this of course in the store)
Good luck, take it easy
thanks appelflap!
i have an update for those who are intrested in this... just called motorola germany, they speak english, and i asked them if this is a policy of motorola or it will be available in the future.
motorola support told me "no no no, no way its our policy" and by next official update i will definately get english. they said its just because its the initial release of the honeycomb thats why... i asked them when the upgrade and they said they dont know and they prefer not to speculate.
oh well... should i believe them? i still have 14 days by german law and also according to the store policy to take it back so i figure i just wait a little bit...
galaxy tab 10.1 might have been a very good option ...if it had hdmi and microsd, which is important for me...
You can try to install a free app called MoreLocale2 from Android market.

Only works if they have built in the locale translations in the Honeycomb system. Could be working for english because Honeycomb is original in English. Don't see why they have hide the English locale though. BTW it will not work for the keyboard.
With such a switch you ask apps to look for translations. Apps need to provide the translations though.
everything is in english now. keyboard also, skype, google maps, android market, everything in english.
i selected us english in the MoreLocale2 app, even though in the settings/ language options i still cant chose other than german, which is so weird....
i will post a pic later, now i am playing with my new toy
thanks so much for help. if anyone else has the same problem i am glad i opened this thread...

That's great. Congratulations. Now if this only could work with dutch
Very strange they decided to hide this locale option on the German Xoom.
Well this is great! It also works with the Galaxy Tab 10.1v for Dutch. The translations aren't finished yet but it's working, sort of. Now I won't have to wait till they release the translations here in the Netherlands.
Ha! Now I don't have to return the Tab and can I sell the Xoom to my neighbor
Thank you!
