AmazonMP3 - Droid 2 General

After searching the web for an hour or two my search has come up empty. So I was wandering if anyone have the stock AmazonMP3.apk for Droid 2? I would really appreciate it if someone could link it. I have downloaded various other AmazonMP3's but none of them are the ones that came with my Droid 2.

I was able to find this by downloading an entire backup of the Droid X, getting the Amazon file and pushing it to the sdcard then pushing it to /system/app. Then resetting phone back to factory settings. Just for anyone else who deleted this app and needs it back. If I get the ok from the admins, I will post the official AmazonMP3 app.

Market missing?

Hey,
I tried searching but i cant seem to find this anywhere.
I tried to flash a new rom, decided i didnt like it, went to do a Nandroid backup, and when i did the market is just missing. the icon for it, the actual program, i cant find it anywhere. In fact every nandroid backup i have doesnt even have the market anymore.
I cant seem to find a solution to this on XDA or on google. Anyone have any idea what happened?

Anyone? I just installed darchdroid 2.6.5 on my son's hero and the market doesn't show up in the apps drawer. I can see /system/app/Vending.apk but I can't see or run the app from the OS.
I did 'adb push Vending.apk /system/app' then rebooted but still no joy. Any ideas?
try navigating to the .apk on your phone with a file explorer, click on it and choose Install. It should reinstall the .apk.
Also try the "fix uid mismatches" in recovery>other
Thanks nebenezer.
The install didn't work from file manager but your comments made me remember what the problem is. I had it on my Hero before but forgot.
I had flashed a blue theme so the /system/app/Vending.apk and /data/app/com.android.vending.apk files were different and wouldn't work for whatever reason. I flashed darchdroid last night without wiping so I guess these are incompatible. So far haven't seen any other problems.
Anyway I just pulled those two files off my hero and pushed them to my son's and everything is good.

[Q] Mynet.apk problems

*Update*
n00b 1 - mynet.apk 0
Maybe I can help some other folks with what I have found out today.
The problem I was running into is that I was downloading the wrong mynet.apk from chadhaney.com
I was needing the .516 files not the .604 files that are listed on that page. Go to the top left of the page and look for the "Get 1.113.516 default files here"
Give it a try and maybe it will fix your 3G Mobile Hotspot problem too.
Hello all.
I am a total n00b to this whole rooting deal. I had been waiting for an extremely easy way to root. I found z4root for download on the market and boom I was rooted. So I immediately went to removing crapware. THEN I decided to do some reading after I removed the stuff and decided to reinstall and rename.
I had zero trouble with anything except mynet.apk.
I have downloaded it from a couple of different places, no dice.
So I am hoping that someone would be nice and kind enough to help a dumbazz noob out with a complete walk-thru of how to reinstall this to my phone, I will beg if that is what it takes.
Thanks,
Brent

just put it in the system/app folder. use Root Explorer app to make sure the permissions are the same as your other apk's. then reboot phone.
here a link to the stock droid x apk's http://www.chadhaney.com/droidXDefault/
I still have yet to try to fix this problem past what I first tried.
My question now is what makes mynet.apk any different than the blockbuster.apk? Why the permissions need to be changed for this and none of the others.

you might not need to. i just mentioned it to make sure.
With the other apk's I just put them on my sdcard and used astro and it very simply installed with no trouble. Mynet.apk goes thru the same process but ends with it saying ''application not installed''
Ok I broke down and bought root explorer. I placed the apk in the system/app folder and changed the permissions to match up exactly with the other apk's.
But I still can not get this to install. What to try next?

[Q] reinstalling a few stock apps on Droid 2

Alright so I have a D2 running the latest Fission rom(2.2.2) and I want to install so of the apps from the stock rom back it, but I am not sure how to. Right now I am trying to put back DLNA(two files) via root explorer by adding in the systems/app folder, but no dice. I even marked the appropriate check marks in properties of both apk per instructed in another thread, but again no dice.
The other app I want maybe a little harder as I was told it may require the MotoBlur framework and stuff. I want to install the Audio enhancement apk which adds some eq presets on to many motoblur devices(I know the Droid X, Defy, and Milestone have it). Is there anyway I can have this installed, or do I have to be stuck using the laggy MotoBlur?
Finally think I want installed is the a different stock browser. I am right now using the stock browser, but not really liking how it looks or works. I previously came from the Eris(Hero), which had a customized stock browser, where in the menu there was back and front arrows(while I only have front, and have to use the hardware back to move back a page). I'd like to know is there anyway I can install the HTC or Samsung browser, which is essentially just a themed stock Android browser, or does that also require their respective frameworks(Sense, and Touchwiz)? Thank you.
Anyone please?
I have a Droid X, and I am also looking for dlna, and a different stock browser help would be appreciated.
anyone please?

4.5.602 .apk`s that can be removed.

I have seen all the threads about apk`s that can be renamed or removed froyo 2.2 on a few different websites.
could someone make a current one for GingerBread 4.5.602 now that we have a working root?
would very much appreciate it as i dont think all the files are the same as they used to be in froyo 2.2
there are so many threads on what to remove and what not to remove from all around...
no one has made a thread about .apk`s for 4.5.602....so someone has a chance to be the first.
make a new thread or use this one i dont care...in the end i just want to know what we can remove and what we cant.
the names that root uninstaller shows would be great if someone could cross refrence to what the actual .apk is.
thanks
Bloatware .602 APk's that can be removed...
I would be THRILLED to be able to get a list of bloatware .602 APk's that can be removed without affecting the OS or any 'tangential' functionality. I prefer to stick with the rooted stock .602 ROM...
Anybody have any ideas?

How to stop OTA upgrades
I use Titanium Backup Pro - it's not perfect, but darn good. I started getting the OTA upgrade from Verison in a popup message, with a timer on it. I could click yes to do the upgrade or no to not do it, and the time was counting down in seconds at which point when it reached 0 it was going to do the upgrade if it did not get a response. I got this repeatedly.
I saw another thread that explained that if you 'freeze' (within Titanium Backup Pro) the application named "Updater 2.3.3" then this would not happen any more. That resolved my issue. This did not have any effect on the upgrades for which I got notices and could check on from the Amazon App Market or the Google Marketplace.
What bloatware can be removed? I have removed "City ID" and it has not seemed to affect me.... anybody know what else can be removed safely?
When I first looked around on the internet (and I'm good at doing search) I didn't find any lists of applications you can "freeze" (rename or move to another folder until you need them to update) specific to Droid X Gingerbread. Then while researching other issues I bumped into a fairly complete list (hope mods here don't mind me posting link!)

One issue I've run into is that if you use Titanium Pro you have to translate the actual .apk file name into what it displays. The Titanium devs should add the underlying apk file name to their list. I just upgraded to Pro because I've been using the product for backup/restore and was tired of renaming .apks to .apk.bak to freeze them. I like being able to have a freeze list I can save for the next time I upgrade. I suppose I should learn a bit more linux and create a script but...

Items are vanishing from my Download folder; can they be recovered?

I had saved a bunch of images, videos and docs in my Downloads folder and they were there as recently as yesterday. Today I went in and noticed that they were all missing except the very oldest item and two others I had saved today. I rebooted the phone thinking something was wonky and when it came back up I went into the Downloads folder and only 2 of the 3 items that were in there before the reboot remained.
1) Sound like a virus?
2) Best way to recover the deleted items?
I'm not rooted. US version of phone running latest firmware.
I disabled a few apps the other day like Google Music and TV&Video but I can't imagine that would cause this.
Any help appreciated. It will be a PITA to reassemble this collection.
placeholder post.
I know of a few apps that can recover files but you'll need root
