[Q] Widget problem or it is just me ? - Streak 5 General

First of all , if i did repost this issue , please let me know and i will remove it immediately ..... Currently running 2.1 beta on my streak and i noticed alot of widget fails 2 function or not functioning properly .... For example , Retro Clock ... The calander is working , most of the time and then stop working the next day ; retro clock is not moving at all ..... Battery widget also failed to work on my side and APN droid ; the list goes on .... Does anyone else faces this problem ?

I've had problems with them not moving, or trying to move them and they go tight back. I had to play with them for a while to get it right, but I noticed it was only on the home screen.

Lost HTC Icon Image

For some reason the graphic for HTC People - HTC Calander and HTC Music have disappeared in the start menu and shows a blank white window with its blue border. Even though this isn't a major problem I've set a Quick Link from the home screen to music and showing that white window loses the eye candy. Also the slider icons are working fine so its not a problem there. I'm sure if I reset the ROM it will fix it but I was wondering if there was another way to do this instead of having to lose everything and start again...
Thanks in advance !!
I dont know a solution, but partly the same icon problem here; HTC People icon in white/blue, Calendar icon okay, Music icon not there.
So you're not alone Ashley
Just reinstalled the ROM and its all back to normal, guess we couldn't fine a workaround no worries though !
any fixes without reflash.
did you try Change Start Menu Icons?

just deleted them, thanks for the info

Every time I shut down my XPERIA, the icons lose their arrangement. When I turn it on I arrange every icon on it's correct place but the shut down keeps reverting them to other positions.
How can I lock the possition of the icons on the grid? Can you help me?
Kind regards,
I am facing the same problem even after the new update 2.3.3 ....

Clock widgets stop working on ICS

I have been seeing an issue on my Arc S where, after playing something quite memory intensive (such as Draw Something). when I return to the home screen my clock widget is not showing the correct time (see screen shot - note the time in the top-left is different to the widget). It's driving me nuts. Any ideas? Here's what I know:
I have seen this on GB before back when I first got my Arc S in December last year. Again when using a lot of memory (Maps for example). So it isn't necessarily a new issue.
It is much worse since the official release of ICS. I don't remember if this happened on the beta but it's possible I wasn't using my phone to play as many games.
It affects all the clock widgets I've tried. I have tried the supplied analogue clocks, digital clocks and the HTC Sense 4 clock pictured.
Sometimes if I leave the screen on the clock will sort itself out.
Sometimes it stays like this for good until the widget is deleted and re-added.
Sometimes locking the screen for a little while will fix it.
A full reinstall doesn't fix this.
I am now on 4.0.4 (clean install last night) and the issue persists.
I am running the stock ICS kernel with CWM (from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591279)
I know of one other user having this issue (and he's on Arconium)
I think this is probably an issue with the Sony Launcher but any suggestions are welcome because it's most annoying that I can't even rely on my clock widget to tell the right time!
I might try the Nexus launcher and see if the problem persists.
So I tried the stock ICS launcher (Launcher2) and the same problem exists.
Perhaps this is a kernel problem.

Your clock widget gets killed due to out of memory when you run heavy applications . See "Running Services" at Settings>Applications. You will notice that the widget is 'restarting'.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA
So why doesn't it restart properly? Seems odd. Even if the launcher reloads completely the clock stays "stuck".
Guess I'll have to live with it.
I could give SuperCharger a go and try to make the clock widget HTK...
This also happened to me while I was on Gingerbread, and I was unable to find a solution...
P.S. I accidentally pressed thanks button on your last post rec71, LOL

[Q] GT-I9300 Missing Home Screen Icons After Nightly Update

Hello, hope I'm posting in the right area?
I would like to start by extending my sincere appreciation to the OmniROM team for the wonderful work they have done and continue to do on this ROM. I have been using it for a month and don't see myself moving back to stock Samsung GT-I9300 ROM anytime soon.
I have been updating it every night using the built-in updater and have not had any major issues so far. Currently I am on the version for 20140211, i.e., for last night.
Just one quick query, I keep loosing all the home screen icons after the update, i.e., the ones right at the bottom are all still there , however any icons above them disappear after the update completes. This is the second or third time this has happened, so can not tell if it is an issue with the way the update process takes place or have I missed something in the way I set the icons up. Attached is a screenshot of the home screen after the icons have disappeared as well as the About phone page.
Thanking you in advance.

Nexus 4 Icons smaller after update

HI !
This morning updated to Lollipop OTA and the update was successful .
But it was laggy so I immediately Reset to Factory settings from my Settings on phone and format.
All my apps came back ( except for Facebook , Viber and Line - which is not the issue here ) but the ENTIRE ICON HAS NOW BECOME SMALL , SMALLER THEN WITH KITKAT AND NO MORE TYPICAL ANIMATIONS OF 5.0 FROM THE HOME BUTTON ANYMORE !
Please can someone help me here ?
Even the Calender now shows the Month with days at the bottom half hidden and not complete. ( numbers like after 20's show half face )
Should I reset again ?
Thanks !

Install Google Now launcher or a custom launcher. The stock lollipop launcher in N4 is horrible.
