[HOWTO] Guide to themeing on Android - from one noob to another. - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello all. I have been using the various android builds for the past few weeks, and much respect to all the developers.
I have been unable to find a central guide how to apply themes on our HD2 android. However, through some trial and error, I have been able finally apply a theme in a relatively straightforward way, without using terminal or coding or whatnot.
Note, this was a themeing attempt on a cyanogenmod build (there are several out there).
Please feel free to add-on or modify or share your comments. Let's help each other enjoy our phones!
------------------------------------
You need to have AndroidSDK installed, as well as droid explorer. Make sure adb process is running; I believe when you install androidsdk, this will start automatically.
Fire up your android build, and connect via usb to your computer.
Run droid explorer, and your list of directories should show up. Now, open the folder of your dark cherry theme. In the "framework" folder you should see framework-res.apk. Drag this file into droid explorer under /system/framework on your android. This will change the theme, and you need to reboot (from the phone, not from droid explorer).
If you want the keyboard and other apps skinned, you can copy the .apk files from the app folder (in your dark cherry folder), and drag them to /system/apps on your android (via droid explorer). Now reboot again (from phone, not from droid explorer).
This is what worked for me 99%. The only issues I noticed was that zedge would keep asking me to upgrade whenever i rebooted. Minor issue really, but otherwise, the theme worked fine, as did the keyboard and all.
* Remember, when you download the theme from the website, make sure it is compatible with your cyanogen build. I was using bangster's build, based of cyanogen 6.0.1. So on the theme website, I downloaded the build under nexus one cyanogen 6.0.1.
Hope this helps, and good luck.
-----------------
I found androidSDK on the web, and there are also web guides on how to install. I am using Windows 7 64-bit on my laptop. My phone had vbn's clarity rc1 droid rom. My android build was bangster's 1.3.

Thanks for the guide maqsur,
but a couple of questions:
Could you please link the site where you got the themes from?
Does it have to be 6.0.1, because I only see 6.0.0 themes for nexus one :S (http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/5977-theme-full-desire-cyanogenmod-600-final-90210-fixed/)

The dark cherry theme that is in the "screenshot" thread is from a site by its creator, and it had a link to 6.0.1. I am also using google to search for "cm6 final themes." I just downloaded a "Black and Bold" theme from droid forums. It's all experimentation at this point, because dark cherry was the first one i ever tried.
I believe most of the newer builds for our HD2 are based on cyanogenmod final 6 (cm6). So I believe if you look for themes like that, you should be okay. I am still trying new ones, and will post screen shots when I can take them.

A note: depending on your build, read the original post for that particular thread, and confirm which rom the cyanogen is based on (nexus one, evo, etc.), because themes that are out there are based on phone models as well as mod versions.

Rom Cooking

I posted this in Q&A but I think this may be a better audience for my question.
Hey everyone. I am on my fourth Android Device now and want to start developing (cooking) custom ROMS. I have a pretty solid understanding of Linux fundamentals and have a programming background, but no java. I know this isn't a huge roadblock, as I am not looking to develop apps right now, but I figured I would mention it.
My current development environment:
- Mac OS 10.6 (Primary)
And any number of the following virtual Machines
- Windows 7 32 bit
- Windows XP Professional
- Fedora 12
- Kubuntu 9.1
- openSuSE 11.2
- Ubuntu 9.1
I am trying to develop for the Motorola Droid. Many of the Droid Roms are currently being delivered as Nandroid backups, with the exception of a few coming through as update.zip or .rom.tgz.
Here is where I need some help. I realize that update.zips have to be signed. I have seen a lot of methods on signing update.zips /apks on this forum, and have tried a ton (AndroSign, testsign, and several others) and any time I get a signed update.zip, the installation halts on my device. Is the signing method device specific??
To create an update.zip or a .rom.tgz, do you need to have boot.img, recovery.img, data.tar, META-INF and system.tar? or can you create any combination of them?
Finally, what source file should I be using? One thread I saw recommended creating a nandroid backup of a clean 2.0.1 install + su + busybox and pulling apart system.tar. To my knowledge, there is no "factory recovery rom" for the droid like the RUU for some HTC devices. I pulled /system from a fresh backup and tried to pack THAT into an update.zip and rom.tgz and could not succeed either time. update.zip wouldnt install and rom.tgz installed but got stuck at boot loader.
Any help would be much appreciated!
I have scoured google, xda, modaco, alldroid, etc. and havent found the right answers, so now I am reaching out here.

[Application] Eris Master Application [R00T] - 6/20/10

This is NOT for those on 2.1 leak. It is ONLY for those on 1.5 Stock or 2.1 OTA OS version.
This is a Windows Only version. We are porting it to JAVA now for cross platform compatibility.
Major update - Re Uploaded the App
We have brought back the Eris Master App as the Android Master App. It has a new name in preparation for support for more Android devices. We are working on fixing the XP bug where files wont download. Until we get a full fix working, DO NOT USE IF YOUR ON WINDOWS XP Stay tuned for updates. We have also included an Error Log handling feature. If there are any errors, it will try to automatically send us an email with the log file. If it cannot send us the email, the log file will pop up for you so you can get in contact with us and send us the log so we can fix the issue.
Again, if you are on Windows XP, DO NOT USE. We have been getting a lot of email logs from those on XP, and we know its not working, so dont bother wasting your time trying to see if it works.
Download the application from here: http://tinyurl.com/2doknnb then run the self extracting .exe zip file, and let it extract to its default location, which is c:\AMA\ then go into the folder there and run the application. Select a ROM to download, and the Root Image, and Recovery Image, then start the downloads.
If you need any support, it is always available on the IRC server.
You can also follow us on Twitter: www.twitter.com/THE_ECLIPS3
Check the thread and the IRC server for updates.
ECLIPS3 and Jamezelle
- Fixed files not downloading in windows XP a little bit more, full fix in works
- Fixes a few minor bug fixes
- Streamlined the code more
This App is being worked on by ECLIPS3 and Jamezelle
We are now on Google Code. Please visit the page here to let us know of any bugs / errors you get while using the app. It is not meant to help you solve your problem there. That is what this thread or our IRC server is for. The IRC server login info is at the bottom of my signature. A web based IRC server is available through this link.
On step 2, when you get to the part of doing the update. our app will tell you to push volume up to start update. you might also have to push the trackball in as well. the link will say <action> YES. push trackball in to start update.
- Market updates for apps. (coming soon)
We have figured out how to restore apps, and restore market update links, need to roll it into the app, but it is possible. We might even have a way to restore links for those non root. Any other app that does market update links requires root first to backup the links.
UPDATE 5/5/2010
Version 2.1 (released 5/5/2010)
Files are now hosted on http://android.grdlock.net
-Fixed where app wont upload custom rom to phone
-New download links for files
-Ability to download roms via app, instead of including them
-Choose what rom to install easier
-Download of ROOT Image instead of including it
-Progress bar for downloads
-Splash Image install
-Cleaned up a lot of the code
-Many bug fixes
-Made user interaction a lot more friendly
-Fix device not found in app.
-Check if phone is connected to PC. If not, setup will not continue.
-Fixed spelling issue.
We have now finished the core of the Application. What it consists of is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) to make going from 1.5 stock to 2.1 root with a custom ROM installed. There is also an easy way to reboot your phone, enter the recovery mode, and enter the bootloader mode. Finally the third part available in this release is a way to backup all of your applications along with restoring all of them. Currently this is root only. We do have an update coming to backup apps for non root.
For rooting there is a 4 step process. Just go through the steps, one at a time and make sure you read and pay attention to the instructions.
We will be adding more functionality and options to this application. Stay tuned for future updates. If there is an update, just re download the whole app.
Please let us know of any bugs or options you would like to see in the application and we will do what we can to add those in or fix those bugs.
Prereq's for using the application:
You must have Microsoft .NET version 4. Direct Download Link
Then also download the drivers file. Unzip it to your desktop. Follow these instructions on how to install a driver. Select have disc, then navigate to your desktop, inside the corresponding folder, and continue the prompts.
Requests
- Support for other android phones.
- Save Layout and Scenes. (Working on now)
- backup apps for those NOT ROOTED (Have it working. need to roll it into an update)
- Restore email settings for Gmail and HTC Mail (Working on now)
- Download speed for file downloads
- Boot andimations (new name for animations)
- Progress bar for copying files to sdcard
So i tried this out and it works great. It is a really nice addition to the anyones android tool set.
I did notice that once i reinstalled all apps it did take quite a long time to load all of them again... 5 minutes. That was ok though because it saved me alot more time from having to download and install all of them again. I did i reboot too just to make sure.
Thanks a lot for this script!
note: put the scripts in your sdk\tools section on your computer.

Thanks for your feedback. I am working on creating a standalone application for backing up the apps, reinstalling, rebooting, rebooting into bootloader and recovery. It will also be able to install the bootanimation files amongst other things. hopefully i will be able to have it do the rooting process as well. though im not sure how often that will be used considering most have already rooted their phones. if some people would like to vote on those options and let me know what they want as well as requests for other features that would be great.
bootanimation is good and boot image logo like in here, maybe?

Thats not necessarily true, because 'all people' aren't trolling the internet like we are all the time.
So im sure there are people that dont even know we have root access on the eris. I bet there are also a ton of people that dont know what root is and even how to go about it, so an automated system would be a great addition.
Most of the world is not technology oriented. Think of (most)Best Buy shoppers.. hahah (i used to sell computers there) They look for someone to 'deal' with the tech for them.
i may just be a ritard but i plug my phone in to computer with debugged mode on, i have the skd driver thing updated and my sd card is mounted and it says error device not found any idea wat im doing wrong like i said im a ritard lol thanks guys yall do amazing work keep it up!!!!!!
I use these scripts whenever I flash! I will be glad to test your app!

the rom you ported, its a hero rom? thats probably why because i have found that roms that have been ported from other devices have issues with my scripts, which is because of how the rom and its core are built. will try and add that functionality at some point.
for everyone else. these scripts only are verified to work on eris based roms and legend based roms.
Great job! saves so much time and work!
UPDATE: Application is now released. please view first post for more info.
Nice work!

ECLIPS3,
Ok....Well my Eris now has the latest 2.1 ROM and when I ran the program it told me that the ROM installed is older that the one being installed. So if I replace the newer rom in the upload/root folder should I be ok?
-Tony
Re: [Application] Eris Master Application
Are you on 2.1 leak, 1.5, or 2.1 root? This only works on 2.1. The file in the root folder is the 2.1 root image. In rom folder is custom roms to install. An update will be released today.

[Q] Is there a newbie's guide for this phone?

I understand there's a tips and tricks thread that explains things in more detail but how does somebody go from just getting the phone to installing, or even understanding, things like obsidian, onyx, morphing and learning what the basic functions of such programs are.
The question I currently have is concerning flashing custom roms. In the tips & tricks thread, it talks of froyo builds (ex: bionix & frankin-twiz). What is it exactly? From what I understand, it sounds like a mini os that you install onto your device which helps in applying different functions to it, which makes custom roms possible.
I'm currently trying to get http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=845530 to work on my vibrant. Can anybody help a newbie out?

the link you posted is just to a theme.
to get the theme to work you'll need to be running obsidian first.
so lets see, the easiest way to explain the different versions 2.2, 2.1 1.6, 1.5 and so forth is this...
its pretty much like going from windows 95 to 98 to 2000 to xp to vista and so forth.
our vibrants come with android 2.1, 2.2 is the next version of the os to come out (basicaly like moving from vista to windows 7)
the different roms like obsidian and Macnut and such are just names that the developers gave their roms.
what happens is a developer starts out with a version of android (in the case of Macnut and Obsidian this is 2.2)
and then they add their own modified tweaks and such to it.
and so in the end they get Obsidian which is a modified 2.2
or Macnut which is also a modified 2.2
they differ a bit though as Obsidian is based almost totaly on a leaked version of 2.2 for the US vibrant, where Macnut is based alot on the 19000 version of 2.2 for the european phones.
so when choosing a rom just choose the base you want first: 2.1 or 2.2
then look through the tweaks on a few roms and read some of the thread for that rom untill you get a feel for what makes it unique
you can also just experiment by flashing a rom for a day or so and then switching to a new one untill you find one you like.
Morphing is a way to apply a theme to a rom, this does not generaly change functionality at all, it only changes apearance.
alot of themes are either morphs (you install them using metamorph, which is an app from the market)
or they also come in zip format (which are installed by flashing from recovery)
for the theme you posted you will need to flash obsidian, and then flash the zip for the theme afterwards.
have you rooted your device yet?
thats the place to start, if you need help just pm me or repost here and I'll do what I can.
also, there is a "newbie's guide":

lol true true
Before you even want to start with anything, you have to learn what 'rooting' your phone means.
Without root, you won't be able to do any of the above. You might be able to download the programs necessary, but you won't be able to use them.
For ex. Titanium Backup, ROM Manager, etc.
We use ROM Manager to install different ROMs on our phones.
Much to read, my young grasshopper.
OP, I made the Tips/Tricks sticky... would you PM be exactly what you think it lacks? I want to make sure it is applicable to everyone... I thought it was straight-forward, perhaps not.
my phone is rooted. So how do I go about flashing obsidian?
I thought roms were the same as themes? What's the difference?
And just to clarify I understand the tips and tricks thread is sort of the newbies guide but even then theres a lot of terminology that a new user wouldn't understand. I just wanted some basic information that would allow me to transition into the tips and tricks thread more easily.
I appreciate the responses so far
Have you download Rom Manager from the Market? If not, do so.
Then follow the instructions (in the sticky) to flash the recovery (it's the top of the list when you open Rom Manager).
Assuming you did that, you can reboot into recovery, make a backup of your system.. something you can always come back to (a timestamp of your system at that moment).
Download the ROM you want, put it on your internal memory (sdcard/....) NOT in a folder.
Go to Clockwork recovery, choose to insall a zip from sd card... select the name of the ROM and then click Yes to install it.
It will run it's course, then you can just reboot when done.
The first bootup will take a long time (10 minutes probably)... let it boot.... leave your phone alone for like 10 or so minutes after bootup (suggested by Team Whiskey, I never really do this).
It's that easy.
Think of a ROM as an OS... the developers take Froyo (2.2) or Eclair (2.1) and make a lot of tweaks, remove things, add things... basically anything to enhance the user experience.
THEMES are something you flash over a custom ROM... it can change the icons, graphics, notification bar, etc... they are cosmetic. You see in my signature I have Axura 2.0.3 (amazing rom and there is a newer version out) and then I have BlackFroyo (which is the theme) on top of the ROM to change the look of things. Axura has a steel looking notification bar, I much prefer black (hence the theme I chose).
The ONE thing that can be confusing... if you make a backup right now (you have stock eclair), if you flash a froyo rom... you would need to flash either the stock eclair kernel (the download link is also in the sticky) to restore your nandoid backup.... OR, you could just flash another ROM that has a kernel (most do) and you would be good to go too.
And addition to this is to make sure your phone is NOT hardware locked.
To test it:
1) Take out battery from the phone and put it back in again
2) The USB cable plugged into the computer (not in the phone yet)
3) Push and hold down both of the Volume buttons at the same time
4) Plug in USB cable and it should take you into the Download mode.
If it does you are good to go. Just read some about Odin and Stock Android
If it isn't you need to make sure to flash JI6 to your phone (also Stock) onto your phone using Stock Manager. That should fix your hardware locked. Go over the above steps to make sure that is the case.
At this point, I have rooted my device and downloaded rom manager.I believe I have backed up everything after following the directions and I do have the blackfroyo.zip on my sd card and for some reason it won't "go" (although I'm sure there's a step I am missing here, something with obsidian) so that wasn't much of a surprise.
Edit: I noticed I tried to use a theme on there and not the obsidian "OS" (idiot) when I tried the backup thing with rom manager. Where can I download the most recent version of obsidian and/or is axura an acceptable alternative?

Been working on updating the wiki. Please check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S_SGH-T959#ROMs for the different ROMs currently available.
^^ both are solid. I prefer Auxura *no touchwiz*.... download it from the development section. Place in on the internal (sdcard/ ) and flash it, reboot... I would let the phone chill for awhile then reboot again.... THEN if you want, start messing with the theme. You can see from my signature you and I are similar.
to the OP, I started a noob friendly guide in the Q&A section. Please let me know exactly what you want in there.
Here is a video guide, its kinda old but the principles are the same.

I have been browsing around and reading on XDA since I got my G1 on release day. I have since upgraded to the MYT3G and now to the Vibrant. I have always used XDA as a source of information for rooting, etc. I don't post very often, but, I would like to throw props out to all the individuals in the thread, this is one of the few threads I have read on XDA that no one got flamed for being a "noob" and asking basic info, the information given was clear, accurate and very helpful. No one pointed to using the search function, everyone just gave good answers. AWESOME
I hope to see more threads like this in the future. Bravo and well done to all.
So I tried installing obsidian 5 and this is what happened. I first put the zip file on my sd card, I did all the necessary prerequisites (I think) using rom manager, flash recovery > vibrant yada yada yada and then pressed install rom from sd card and chose the obsidian zip file. Then the phone starts backing itself up and it finally reaches a point where it says (E: Can't open/sdcard/sd/obsidian_v5_beta.zip (no such file or directory) Installation aborted.
I then try to navigate to the file from the menu but whenever I click the sd file, it just exits, I think it says that no zip file is found or something but when I boot it up normally afterwards, the file is still there.
But the file is within the sd file . . . what am I doing wrong? I tried to fix permissions thinking it was that but no luck.
You probably need to move to the rom to the internal sd card. I thought you're able to add it to the external with the recent update but perhaps not

the rom IS on the sd card, unless you mean the memory on the actual phone itself
ROMs go on the root of the internal memory (no folder)... drop it in sdcard/
Also, this was mentioned in Post 8, and in team whiskeys install guide. Please pay attention to details.
oh okay, this whole time I've been thinkin the sd card folder was the root folder. Well I have finally put obsidian with success and now I'm having a difficult time implementing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=845530. I have downloaded the zip file but I don't understand what "flash it through clockwork recovery" means. It kinda sounds like I should use something in rom manager but I'm not sure, I have tried to reboot into recovery through rom manager with no luck.
I've also tried using metamorph but when i choose the blackfroyo.zip file, it says that the file is invalid and that the theme control file could be missing. Am I doing something wrong here as well?
Thanks for all your help so far, I really appreciate you taking time out of your busy life to help an individual with (what may be to you) simple problems

From where you are now. Make sure the zip file is in the internal sd card, Open rom manager go to install rom from sd card then choose the that file then click ok and CW will do its thing. Also this is only for Obsidian v4.2 and Auxura 2.05. Good luck! Also you should make a nandroid back up first just in case.

hi, the thinkpad tablet never came with anything lower than 3.1, also that isn't a valid model number for this tablet.
I think you must have something other than a thinkpad tablet
Cheers

Check here, shows the instructions for that model.

Yes i know this thread! But its just about rooting and installing google maps and the market... but the market in this thread isn't working anymore! i think the version is to old...
but i hate the lenove OS, i would like it to install another one or maybe develop my own one if CWM would work
it's this one: h**p://appserver.lenovo.com.cn/shop/shop_Detail.aspx?gdsid=A2100014142
Unfortunately, it's said that Lenovo has no any upgrade plan for this pad. LePad S1(Y1011) is the first mode of pad from Lenovo. the product, particularly its deep customized OS, is in very low maturity. short after its released to the market, it's ended production and replaced by A1 series pad. that's the situation, so disappointed, and angry. and finally, its ROM leaked.
i searched some Chinese forum and got the following leaked ROM:
* LePad S1 Ver_Wifi ROM here
* LePad S1 Ver_3G ROM here
* resource pack here
hope it helpful to you guys who may interested look into the code
Thanks for this informations! Does someone know what we can do with this files?

Some Games will not work bcause the OS2.0.0 The Hardware is god enough
So here are how to do it
Install LeTools on Windows 7 PC. it is assumed that LenovoStore on your Lepad is already connected usin wifi.
Connect USB cable with Windows 7 PC
unzip attached file to your PC.
1. Copy all attached files to your LePad using LeTools in any known directory.
2. Use LePad filemanager and click on z4root.apk and install it. Its icon will appear on last Desktop
3. Use LePad file manager and click on Root_Explorer.apk and install it. Its icon will appear on last Desktop
4. Click on Z4root icon to run it. select temporary root permission
5. Click on Root_Explorer icon. It may say that it needs a restart to gain root access. so re run.
6. Now little hardwork. Find the folder where you copied the files. You have to copy following files to the folder /system/app
a. Vending.apk
b. Network location.apk
c. Market updater.apk
d. talk.apk
e. googleServicesFramework.apk
f. googlePartnerSetup.apk
7. Touch the file name and hold for a second, menu will appear. Select copy and go on top of listed files where .. is there for going to previous directory. keep going back till you reach the root folder.
8. Go to folder /system/app and touch the copy button at bottom of LePad screen.
9. Repeat the process for all above files.
10. Change the permissions on each copied file by touching the file name and holding for a second, from menu selecting permissions.
Select permissions as follows
User - Read and write
Group - Read
Others - Read
11. Now shutdown the LePad and then Power On.
12. Use file Manager and go to folder where you initially copied the files. Touch the Vending.apk to install it.
13. Now you should have Google market icon on Last Desktop.
14. All the best. You are needed to have a gmail account to use Google market.
I will look were i can Upload the files. If you start and stop the market it will automatik update to the 4.3.3

[maybe a howto] Running latest MIUI ICS on HD2

As JB is new to HD2, I decided to install ICS, and the ROM I love, is MIUI. so here is how I did it, maybe others like me are willing to install miui android 4 versions
# before first(!) you must know how to prepare your winmo HD2 to be able to run Android. so search the forums here, and find out!
# I have CLK 1.5 installed on my HD2. I don't know how to use MAGDLR. this how-to is based on clk.
I'm not reponsible for the damages you might do to your device. do this on your own risk.
0- repartition your SDcard by a partition manager. to have a 1)data partition, 2)1024MB or 512mb ext4 partition, 3)128MB swap space. I use gparted in Linux.
1- download the latest ICS version of MIUI roms form here
This is a nonEnglish webpage, you should click on the white button to download the ROM. then copy the zip file to your SDcard
The further versions are JB, not ICS, which are less stable and still under development. I feel ICS roms are more stable for HD2.
2- Turn off your HD2, then turn it on, while holding back btn (next to the power btn). here, go to the "settings" and change the system partition to 240mb, and cache partition to 10mb
3- Then reboot and go to the Recovery to install the ROM on NAND.
4- After installation complete, MIUI just run and everything is OK except language and wifi.
# to change the language which is chinees, follow these steps:
open the settings. (tap on the settings Icon!)
go to the right panel
come down to see a keyboard icon. it's under the clock icon
tap on the keyboard icon, and then tap on the first option. then you can change the language to English.
# wifi cannot find networks. to fix this, first you should install a file manager which can do ROOT jobs. I use Solid Explorer. root explorer can also do the job.
download this attachment. and extract AND OVER WRITE fw_bcm4329.bin INTO "SYSTEM/VENDOR/FRAMEWORK". more info here.
Extra Settings:
# I don't like this huge icons. I used to install Hyperdroid ROMS which had a smaller lcd density, and I feel it was more eye candy. to make this back, open build.prop in /system and find this line: ro.sf.lcd_density=240 and change the value to 200. lower values causes problem. 200 is just ok.
5- If you like to remove the carrier text and some other extra settings, you should flash ControlPanelSuite.
download the proper version from here and copy the zip file to the SDcard. now reboot to the Recovery and install this zip file. Then you'll have a "control panel" app icon and can change extra settings.
6- I use Gmail and Gtalk, which are not included in miui. Download Talk.apk & gmail.apk from this post and move them to /system/app folder by your root file manager. and change the permissions to be like other apps there. Then download the lib files, and copy them to /system/lib and fix the permissions. (if you don't use videochat from gtalk, it's not necessary)
7- Install Link2SD. it's a good tool to move apps specially games to the ext partition. I don't like the native app2SD script in ROMs which link the whole apps to te ext. because if you remove sdcard, every thing begins to force close. because they were all on the ext partition. but in Link2SD you can keep important apps in the internal memory and link games or whatever you want to the ext partition.
8- any body has a good camera app?!
Why is this in the dev section?

I thought it's better to be here. because these are HD2 sections:
HD2 Android Q&A and General (t's not a Q&A)
HD2 Android SD Development (It's not SD)
HD2 Android NAND Development
HD2 Android Themes and Apps (It's neither Theme nor app)

MIUI wad my favorite rom. The problem is that with GB roms, there is no HWA. So I tried to do what you said here, but it seems very slow too, more than GB roms. Do you have the same problem ?
Miui rom 2.12.14 jb
For those who are interested in the latest MIUI Rom for the HD2, it's available on miuiandroid.com including a multilanguage pack.

I'm running it currently on my HD2-Tmous and it's really :good:

A little slowness yes, but it's not important to me.

These are weakly roms, and after 2.11.30 which is ICS, next versions are JB. I installed JB, but it was more slowner than ICS. more than that, in my opinion miui JB versions are still under development, but ICS has reached a little stability.
data partition? mount as /data? size?
