Please let me know if you find a better solution. It took me a while to find this but the mms pics i recieve are normal sized now. I think you need to be rooted and have root explorer, at least i did. Read this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648396
All I did was go into system/app and delete MMS.apk and replace it with the Mms_3.apk you can dowload in that link. Then go to the settings in your messaging (you might need to reboot first) and you will have additional setting you can adjust. At the bottom you can use a Custom User Agent. I use the N95. I havent tried any of the others. Anyway...thats it! Thee are other settings you can change that really make the messaging app better..No need for Handcent anymore!
Let me know if you need more help and how it works out! Good luck.
Marty
Thanks Marty I want to try that but my Streak isn't rooted and I'm not sure that I want to root it just yet.

Hmmm....grrrr.... I made a backup of the original Mms.apk to my sdcard...
deleted it from /system/app.
Tried to install Mms_3.apk and it says UPDATE INCOMPATIBLE!!!
I'm on ATT 2.1 O2 ROM....
I tried to re-install the original Mms.apk but it says:
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT]
I've tried installing with adb, astro, and super task manager...all a no go...
Now I'm stuck with no MMS!!! Grrrr...
Any ideas on how to get it re-installed!?!
Thanks
I used Root Explorer and had no problem. I even switched back and forth once to see if I could go back to the original. Are you rooted?
Marty
Also did you reboot?
yup! rebooted a number off times.
Are you rooted? If so try root explorer. I can send you my original MMS.apk if you would like.
Marty
OMG!
I was renaming Mms_3.apk to Mms.apk...as soon as I kept the name the same...it worked!!!
Sheeesh...
Thanks!
Sorry i wasn't more clear on that. Yes you have to leave it MMS_3.apk
I tried this on my 1.6 OS and it didn't work. I follow the instructions to a t and didn't rename the file.
Basically, when I replace it, I lose the Messaging Icon. I can't find it anywhere...
Help please...
You have to go back in and install it, I'm on 1.6 on a Streak and it wouldnt install for me though.
Thanks for the help...I just installed Handcent and called it the day...

does the mms_3.apk work on 2.2? I tried loading it. rebooted. and I got multiple faid to load errors.
thanks!

I tried again. It loads and I can access the sms/mms... But as soon as I try to send a text it fails. And because its waiting to be sent, it continues to crash the program.
So if someone could figure out how to fix the sending part of it. It should work!
Yes the small mms image bug is still prevelant on 2.2.

Update Notifications

Hey guys. I know that there is an available atrix update, but I don't want to update. Att keeps sending me annoying messages to update. How do I get this to stop?

It's easy to block the update if you don't want to lose root and also want to get rid of the annoying messages.
Just rename the otacerts.zip and cacerts.bks certs in system/etc/security.
The update will download (you must let it download), but fail the auth check and not install.
This also turns off the reminder notifications.
Easily reversible if you want to get updates later.

Noob mistake. desperate for help

Ok, so I installed Droidsail to try and move my large games to SD card on my S4 to free up some space.
It didnt work, so I uninstalled it. before I uninstalled it I had changed a setting to 'install new apps on SD card'
Now I'm getting an error: Insufficient Storage Available whenever I try to update or install an app.
This includes trying to re-install Droidsail to fix the setting.
I also tried to install Rom Toolbox, and I successfully installed that!
But superuser is out of date so I cant use it to change the setting
Cant update superuser... see error above.
So does anyone know a way to install an app completely manually? Not involving clicking 'install' at all? or another fix?
Can you flash to stock?

Go to the development section and use the search function to find the stock factory ROM and directions to install it. I also suggest you take a lot more time to learn about Android (and the S4 in general) before you do anything else. Good luck.

8 minutes between my suggestion of going to the development section and searching you replying you couldn't find it isn't a very good attempt.
However, you need to restore your phone to the original factory firmware that is supplied by Samsung for the AT&T S4 (i337). There most definitely is a complete thread about this in the Development section. Take a little time and you might find it. I'm not trying to be mean, but if you are not willing to take a little time to look for information and learn about your phone you are only going to screw it up worse.
I doubt you are an idiot (as you stated you might be), I just think you need to learn a little about how these phones work before you end up with a really expensive brick. Good luck.
Try Kies (just as bad an app as iTunes lol)

[Q] Out of Space??? [SOLVED]

I'm about to destroy my phone and go back to iPhone 5 because that didn't constantly make me want to destroy everything around me.
I wanted to side-load an app. I just unlocked my bootloader and rooted it and was re-installing my apps.
When I go to install an app it says that there is no more space. the file is 4.85mb and I have 12GB of storage left.
I tried:
-Re-booting
-Installing other apps (which works)
-Clearing the cache
-Downloading Trail from PlayStore (I get the same result)
NEW:
-When plugged in via USB to my PC, device doesn't show up under "Computer" [Running Windows 7 x64)
What I did:
I backed up my phone and wiped the whole thing because I was running out of time last night
Thankfully Foxnov1990 and ImbaWind's tips worked. I restored the original backup and it solved my problem. Thanks so much! Love ya guys! :victory:

I get the attitute, but you might wanna at least try to be friendlier as we're just here to help.
But On-Topic: have you tried this?
File explorer (app)
Go to /data/app (in System (root))
Del this line
com.maxmpz.audioplayer-1.odex
I've had it before that on stock ROM (aka unlocked bootloader and rooted) which means that it's not DEodexed that some Odex files were left behind. Which means that whatever you try, as long as that file is there, you won't be able to install the app. (shouldn't happen but it's possible in rare occasions)
Hope it helped.
If it didn't help and the Odex file is not there, see if you have Lucky Patcher installed, deinstall it (it sometimes holds on to odex files), and try installing PowerAmp now. Then reinstall Lucky Patcher

Honestly, I have installed and deinstalled the app more than you can possibly imagine... and I've nearly never had issues with reinstalling.
And when I did get issues it was Lucky Patching (having patched the app) that was holding on to the odex and I couldn't delete it till Lucky patcher was deinstalled.
So not sure what **** you mean but there was always an easy solution for me

Oh yep, always happen when I use lucky patcher to removed the app's ads !
I've run into a similar issue before.
I've had similar issues when I've removed an .apk using adb or root explorer without removing its associated .odex file.
Use root explorer and try to find an .odex file that has the same name as the package that you are having trouble installing.
There are some cache cleaning utilities in the Play store that might assist you as well.

[Q] Bypass exchange security

Hey all,
I'm coming from the Samsung Epic 4G touch ..... thankfully off sprint ......... that was a horrible 4 years of abysmal coverage .. slow speeds when it would connect .. and random disconnects thrown in just for fun....
I'm pulling crazy fast speeds everywhere I go ... Hit 50Mbps this morning on my commute..
However, one thing I liked about my samsung was that there was an APK to bypass the exchange security pin ...
Anybody know if the Epic 4g Touch (Sprint version of SGS2) APK will work on the G2? or if there is a version out there that will accomplish this ?
I saw one for the GS4 ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2355654
Didn't know if this would work on the LG G2 ...
Thanks in advance!!!!
Thanks guys!!!!

Solution
I just did this on my own before seeing your post- hopefully you will find this useful.
I used this set of APKs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965468
Grab Email-JB.apk and Exchange2.apk
First, you need to completely uninstall (not just freeze) the LG Email app. I used Titanium Back to do this- make a backup of the app first in case you ever wanted to go back for whatever reason. Once the LG Email app is uninstalled, you can install the 2 AOSP APKs.
I didn't try installing them normally (download->open->install), it's worth a shot- instead I used the directions in the post to push the APKs via ADB.
You should see "Success" after pushing both via ADB (I did Exchange2.apk first, but I can't imagine it would matter). Unplug your phone, open Email, and you're set. My Email is syncing perfectly with my corporate email, no lock screen password required.

YES!!!!!!!!!! This totally works..
Thank you for looking out, and thanks for posting this ... I've been waiting to be able to add this .. and having to carry 2 phones to check email because I didnt want to be pinlocked on my G2!!
My procedure -
Rom tool box free for the uninstall, the titanium way didnt work for me because I have TWRP installed .. and when it would try the recovery removal .. it would boot to TWRP instead of the stock recovery ...
Anyways, Rom Toolbox free has an uninstall utility, couldnt be easier .. uninstalls without a reboot needed.
Turned on wireless storage, copied over exchange2.apk and Email-jb.apk and installed through android .. didnt use the ADB method .... it works perfectly!!!!!!
Thanks again.
That works. Only downside is it removed the feature of peak and off peak for message retrieval. oh well.

Tried this several ways, but it does not install. Can u give some more direction on this? Do we put itf in the apps folders? Flash it? Any advice would be appreciated. I like the lg email app and don't want to go back to the stock one if possible.
if someone figures out how to do this with the stock email app that comes with the att version, that would be awesome. I like that version better than the one you have to install to get this to work.
I really hate having to use a pin, but I have to give my work permission to remote wipe my phone. Is there any chance this could be flagged by my employer and they remote wipe my phone? That would really suck because of the lack of memory card. Anybody that has been remote wiped, did it affect the entire phone, or just the main system?
