phone was actin a lil buggy last nite(pics)

i had to take some shots of these while i can, it looked pretty freakin cool
As weird as it sounds... I like that method... wish we could change where the pull bar was on the phone. I would totally put mine on the side. And if we could change the notificiation bar to the bottom that would be a nother neat little tweak.
nice, looks pretty good on the side. would it be possible to mod it in someway to always be on the side?
I had ADP1 installed and my topbar icons were having a seizure. They kept flashing and moving really fast. I wonder if its a problem with ADP1. I went back to RC30 and no more problems.
Reveal your secrets!!!
That's pretty sweet. Wish we could do something like that on purpose..lol
I got those same effects with that one program I can't remember what it was. O yeah I think its called PHOTOSHOP. Nah I'm just jokin around. I was just surprised I was the first person to call shenanigans. That's pretty cool, I'm sure we'll have the option to do that soon. Thanks for the screenies. Please no flaming, as I said I was joking = D

lol its ok i dont kno how to photoshop anyway lol n i do wish there was a way to puposely move the tab and notification around
well im gonna say that this will happen with time! it looks as if the ui is all xml files which means as we start talking the android code more we will see some pretty trick stuff! this began to happen with my t mobile shadow! we could edit just about anything! so with time comes custom android! just remember thats android itself is fairly young! and it takes time to hack the sheezie out of these things! open source or not
Here are the XML files in question:
For landscape view:
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=pl...her.git;a=blob;f=res/layout-land/launcher.xml
Line 63:
launcher:direction="vertical" />
For portrait view:
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=pl...her.git;a=blob;f=res/layout-port/launcher.xml
Line 63:
launcher:direction="horizontal" />
my phone did that before. it happened when i first got it(stock rc30). a program was causing it to happen. i cant remember which one right now.. but it would force close and when i'd close the keyboard the screen would rotate with the apps bar.

[Q] In call color question

I'm running TAZv9 mod and have a nice looking color mod that makes my phone look and run really nice. Just curious if there was anyway to change the color on the screen that comes up when you are in a call. It has a red background when the call ends and green while you are in the call. Is there anyway to change this to a blue or whatever when you are in the call...basically is this something that can be skinned with one of the programs that is out there(MetaMorph).
I'm 41 years old and my 20 yr. old son has gotten me into this whole rooting thing. I appreciate you all letting an old guy hang in your forum. I write test software for a living so I am interested in maybe getting to the point where I can start messing with my own software apps, etc.
I'm sorry if the question seems really dumb to all you bright young people, but I couldn't find anything about it on the search button.
Thanks for any info and help,
THEEDGE
I can probably put together a quick metamorph for you. The file is in Phone.apk
So instead of the green gradient you want a blue gradient? And keep the red gradient when it ends?
Just place the attached file on your sdcard in "AndroidThemes" and use Metamorph.
Yep. That is exactly what I want. Thanks!

Hey, not sure if you have had a chance to make that blue gradient yet? I was thinking I might just try to do it myself. So, do I just find the file on my phone, copy it to my

Copy it to my computer and then use something like photoshop to edit it?
Sorry about the two posts...I was replying from my phone and somehow hit the menu and send as I was typing away. Is that file recognized by most picture editing software packages or do I need to convert it somehow? Thanks for any and all information. If there is a post or Wiki about this somewhere Im sorry...please point me in the right direction.

Just download the file and your computer. Hookup your phone and mount the sdcard. Then create a folder on it called "AndroidThemes". Next download "Metamorph" from the market. Run it and select the "blue-in-call" theme, and apply it.
Yes...I figured that out and it looks great. My questions were about what you used to modify the graphic (Photoshop)? Im hoping to start modifying some stuff and make my own graphics to use with Metamorph.
Thanks again for your help and for not flaming the old guy!

[Q]Changing (No Service) in Wifi only

I'm working on getting a basic theme together for the wifi only variants, I am looking to change (No Service) something else. Anyone know how to or even what file it is in.

I did that in my theme actually, because the GTAB has no cell....

Or if your talking about the drop down.. I can look into it.
I was talking in the drop down, I know for the droid it is in the framework somewhere and after I night of searching I wasnt able to find it anywhere and havent had the chance to get back on to it.

I'll take a look next time i'm in the framework, text color should be in /res/layout/status_bar_expanded.xml... I could change it to transparent..
Or that whole bar removed?
Thread moved to General, as it's a [Q]uestion.

Not looking for the whole bar to be removed, I didnt even think about just changing the text color. Though my computer is in for repair so I lost all the work on the theme I was working on for the time being.

developing for the atrix LED notification light

Since the LED is not on every android phone, i guess the adroid sdk doesn't have anything to support it. however, there are some apps on the market that support it, and i want to know how hard would it be to code something...
i currently use a blackberry and indeed the light is extremely useful. I bought a program that will let me assign a different color (even multiple colors) to almost all events , even particular contacts!
if some dev has some insight i would love to read about it

i am very interested in this as well as i see it has multi color support as i have seen red, blue, purple green etc already... first step will be to get logs of the led getting lit for all colors and compare .... i am working on a variety of projects so if you would start with obtaining that i will look at logs and see where to go from there
Check out general forum. Sounds like the app called blink is what you want. There's a whole post about led for notifications.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
i know there are apps for it, but the ones i have seen aren't open source therefore i can't learn from them unless the devs are friendly enough (haven't asked)
and for what i have read, most if not all aren't fully compatible with the atrix yet (mixed report on the blink one)

The android SDK certainly supports the notification LED, if the hardware doesn't support it then it just ignores what the program tries to tell it about the led.
See this: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/Notification.html#ledARGB
Light flow works with the Atrix and allows you to assign different colors to specific apps:

I would agree with that! I'm the author.
Yes the android sdk does support the notification color as s3gfault points out.
Motorola phones are one of the very few that actually implement the standard android notification method. It's all the other manufactureres that make general support difficult.

last time i tried that it didnt actually work, only worked when you hit test.
regarding LED flow, is there a way to keep stock colour on apps and only change gmail?
reason is whatsapp has a nice light blue but colour option is led flow is different and there are loads of apps i dont have installed that are supported but would want allow system colour and not blue. ...if any of that made sense
This app does NOT work correctly on ATRIX it has problems with the LED, also, it cannot show a charging LED for the battery, it just fails. I have tried all I can find and guess what? none do what I want. If the battery is charging, it should be solid red, if its charged solid green, turn off when screen is ON unless its still plugged in. Also, low battery warning notification with sound you choose, when I did this the notification went off when the battery was fully charged and there was NO LED lit. I don't understand.

custom navigationbar app (pc taskbar and mobile navbar and notificationlighting)

hi for the last year or so i've been working on designing a custom environment for android, i just released a custom navigationbar app called arc lighting navigationbar on the playstore allthough it has been used and tested on galaxy devices such as the note 9 it works on any other phone too, this app will let you customize the navigationbar extensively, which includes changing each button back, home, recent apps to various icons both presets and icons from any iconpack, you can also place colored layers behind the icons, each color can also follow your wallpaper or app, you can customize it so much that you can turn it into a taskbar for desktop use meaning you can use any phone as a pc without a seperate environment such as samsung dex, the app is called arc lighting navigationbar, i couldn't possibly describe everything it can do so you'd have to test it i don't think theres anything you can think of that you can't do with when it comes to customization, whats left is the dockmenu for true desktop and mobile environment but the developer i am working with does not want to finish the work until this app gets traffic as i owe him too much money for the work he did.
here you can see it on a s9+ https://www.facebook.com/symetium/videos/441167859757603/
and here you can see it on a xperia 1 including it's desktop ui

honestly it means a lot when someone truly appreciates my work i have to go through a lot of 1 star ratings for really weird reasons such as too complicated or uses too many permissions so it's nice when someone actually appreciates it thank you, and yes it is difficult to figure out as i wanted customization per button rather than all 3 at once, i could have made it simpler and had one light control for all buttons at once but each button has it's own full set of settings icon, color, light indicator, movement, layer etc i don't find it complicated as i designed it but i understand if other people do.
I'm impressed. To be able to do that without root is awesome since this thing is in root limbo. As soon as I have 6 bucks I'll donate. I'm on an N9... Can't get the advanced option to work... Any thoughts?

well i am really sorry to say but the advanced option does not work on galaxy phones for some reason so the app has been made to block the advanced option to function, we tried to get it to work but it crashes the phones ui theres something with oneui so you'd need to use the mode that requires no root or software, the difference between advanced and simple is simply no transparency theres no other difference so you get all the same features as advanced but instead of modifying the navigationbar it will place one ontop of the old one i recommend doing this with gesture navigation enabled as then you get a very thin navigationbar as well as the gesture navigation, but i am so sorry for this i should have been more clear on that, made me sad considering you liked the app.
Sounds great. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

you're welcome let me know if you need any help, as mentioned i do recommend enabling gesture navigation first this makes the navigationbar much thinner than usual it also allows you to use gesture navigation or taps at the same time.
