Droid 2 Listen Podcasting Issue - Droid 2 General

I listen to podcasts all the time with the Listen app from Google. With my Droid Incredible which I have set to vibrate when a phone call comes in Listen automatically pauses the podcast and I then know I have a phone call coming in so I never miss calls.
On the Droid 2 however, with the phone set to vibrate, when I receive a phone call it still keeps playing the podcast until I actually answer the call. Is there any way to set the phone to pause a podcast on Listen automatically when your phone gets a call?
Thanks in advance to anyone who might have an answer to this question!

Did you have 2.2 on your DI? I haven't been able to use Listen on 2.2 on my D1 or D2. It gives an account error when opening the app, I thought this was a universal problem with Listen on 2.2

Yes I have 2.2 on my Incredible.
I was able to get Listen to work just fine on the Droid 2 other than the podcasts not pausing when receiving calls.

Receiving calls using Bluetooth unlocks the screen

Hi any ones knows who to prevent HD2 to unlock the screen when you answer a phone call from the Bluetooth?
Just saying because it's really annoying when you are listening to a podcast while you are walking work/home then wife call you and your answer the call from your nice Bluetooth Stereo headphone having the £500 phone in your pocket then press play to resume the podcast UI change to the music tab and since the phone screen is unlock any small touch will change the the track.
What a lack of testing this is!!!!!!!!!
+1 Same problem every time when I use my Nokia BH-503. Sometimes after call the phone back to music player and start to play 5-10 sec. of every track and skip to the next one. Only way to start normal playback is to stop and start playback again and lock the phone manualy... It will be nice to find solution for this problem...
I am having the same problem with my HD2 and my cars blue tooth system. I answer a call in the car and fter I hang up my phone starts making calls on its own. I'm on T-Mobile in the US.
I can't believe that they didn't find this after 6 months of use in Europe.
Same issue here. Whenever i answer a call with my bluetooth earpiece, the phone unlocks. This is annoying since it would it would open all sorts of apps and change settings without me knowing.
So there is no way to prevent android to unclock screen himself? It is very annoying thing.

Notifications and ringer through headset only?

Hello, after being on the iphone 3g for my 2 years the one thing I really liked was the ability to have the phone on vibrate but, at the same time I could hear custom ringtones so I knew who was calling.
Is there any way I could turn off the sound completely to to handset speaker and have go directly to my headset? I did a search I may have overlooked it a I played with the settings with headset plugged in and to no avail
Booo on this feature.. unless I'm missing something..
Sadly, that's either a feature of Android OS or Motorola.
I had a winmo phone as well, HTC Fuze that sent everything to my BT headset, which was nice, I don't even remember having to silence the phone as it sent everything to my headset.
I had the Droid X on Verizon, and I couldn't get it to do the same, played with all the settings, nada!.... was thinking it was just the Droid X...
Now on my Atrix, same thing as the Droid X.. which makes me believe it's the Android OS. The only way I know if I get a txt/phone call is when I'm listening to music, and it get a quick pause for when a text/email notification pops up. Same with phone call, goes silent longer, so I know my phone is ringing.. which sux, cus then I have to go see who's calling cus I can't hear the custom ringtone in my headset....
Wow! That's how I noticed as well when the music stopped. Yeah sucks now I gotta look but I guess that's what we get for being lathargic lol. I do hope they come up with a remedy for this though.

[Q] notification sounds over BT?

This has been a flaw in android since day one. You can't get actual notification sounds over BT. It is rumored to be running in 4.2. Is there truth to this? I'm still waiting for them to be available to get mine... but curious still.
just tested this and it is working for notifications. Although if it is a short notification sound, and it plays only once, it will not come through due to a slight delay between the phone and bluetooth device (but I can hear the headset turning on as if to play something and then turns back off). Works fine for longer notifications.
I get notification sounds over bluetooth when its connected in my car, always have even with ics.
I get notification over my Bluetooth headphones. No problem here.
Tho notification tend to stop my power amp player for some odd reason....

This happens to me too. I thought it was just a bug on the ROM, but may be the app.

This is true you can hear notifications if they are long enough although the first second gets cut off due to lag i think...... but this is not the issue we were discussing on the google forum. CANT POST LINK SORRY............
The issue was that we cant hear our custom ringtones thru Bluetooth. I have the Galaxy Note and a Motorola HX550 and i can get all voice commands, and even hear notifications, and hear it read my text messages to me, but i cant tell whos calling when my phone is in my pocket on vibrate. I want to hear custom ringtones thru my bluetooth so i can tell whos calling. And i believe the same issue is with car bluetooth from what i read in the forum on google this forum started in 2009 about this no ringtone thru bluetooth, and there are still no fixes or apps that can let us decide what sounds go where.
For example it would be nice to have an app with check boxes available to make ringtones go to bluetooth, and notifications be muted, music go thru headfone jack, etc... This is a long time comming just read the forum and look at the start date 2009..... 4 years and noone fixed this issue.
XDA please help us even if its just a quick someting to get the ringtone to go thru bluetooth.... PLEASE someone!!! :crying:
That link you mentioned you can't post is the one in my sig.
Yeah posted that back in 09.... Recently some one official took "owner ship" of the thread and said it was fixed. However it isn't. Flip phones that existed before the smart phone era were able to play custom bluetooth sounds. Yet the most advanced phone to date can't.....

[Q] Issue receiving incoming calls

I've the S4 for a little over a week, but it's been a rather busy week so I haven't given it my full attention as yet. I really like it so far, I haven't gotten all the bells and whistles to work and I'm testing battery life with them disabled vs enabled etc. But I'm not really doing much else with it yet.
The only actual issue I'm having is receiving phone calls. When someone calls me, it takes a couple rings on their end before my phone starts ringing (I've encountered this with Sprint before though) but then when I try to answer the call, I don't get the person on the other end. I get a recorded message telling me I've got an incoming call from (name of caller in my contacts list) and if I want to accept to press 1 now. The message takes so long to get to that point that by the time it tells me to press 1 to accept the call, the call goes into voicemail.
I don't receive a lot of phone calls, but I would like to be able to actually answer them when I do. As of now when someone does call me I have to call them back.
This message plays AFTER I've 'accepted' the call on the screen and it plays through the handset not the speakers. I have Google voice set up for my voicemail.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like you have google voice setup or you used to. You will have to go to the site on your pc to disable it.

I thought Google Voice had something to do with it but I didn't think of checking the settings via PC.
For anyone else with the same issue: Google.com/voice>settings>calls> call screening off.

BT too quiet for voicemail -inaudible until switching to speaker?

Hello,
When people call me I speak through BT and they sound loud an clear. However when I try to listen to a voicemail I have to be in a dead silent room to even remotely make out what they are saying when playing back through Bluetooth. I have the BT volume turned all the way up. I switch to speaker, they are loud and clear. I'm not sure if this is an android issue or an LG issue.
Also no problem with google driving directions through Bluetooth. THe only time BT is too quiet is when playing back voicemails. I have to switch to speakers every time.
How do you listen to voicemails? Through phone by dialing the voicemail number or through a voicemail app?
Good question. It turns out that the apps is what is quiet. When I dial *86 my voicemail is loud and clear. Any suggestions (other than not using the VM app)?
I ended up trying another VM app and it didn't have the volume issue. Thanks for pinpointing the source of the issue.
Glad it's fixed. Ive only ever tried the T-Mobile voicemail app and it works alright except for the fact that it doesn't turn the screen off when trying to listen to the voicemail and if I manually turn off the screen then it stops playing so the only way I can listen with activating stuff with my face is speaker mode or Bluetooth headset.
