Managing start-up apps??? - Droid 2 General

I'm new to Android, but I have a rooted Droid 2 and I have gone through and renamed some of the bloatware apps already... I was wondering if there is a way to better control what apps auto run on start-up? Things like last.fm that have no reason to be running automatically at start-up. Right now I am manually killing those apps after a reboot, but that is a pain to do everytime. Thanks for the help!

Where did you get this "library" rom? And what do you mean you still have pix from your old rom? What kind of pix?

Sorry its liberty rom and this site and the Motorola pix is gone then you first turn the phone on its the liberty logo and not the Motorola one

Oh ok, there's a thread on here somewhere on how to get the moto m boot logo back. Just search a little bit (probably in themes and apps).

Cool thanks I was looking on the developer form not the theme and app

Check Myn's rom page, there is a link. It may only work with a sense rom, i;m not sure.

Download those and keep them on your sd card. That way you can always install them with each new rom. Don't forget the flash fix. That's essential

This is an awesome tutorial. Thnx!
That tutorial seemed really complicated? Idk if I'm just dumb but seemed like a lot like the hex editing deleting and reinstalling apps? Isn't there an easier way to do this?

Use a rom that has it built in
But I'm in love with miui

Contacts not loading

Hey guys. Running GB on my Bell Atrix (unlocked, rooted) and it works great. For some reason, when I try to open my contacts, I get a force close every time. Anyone know why?

Updated market

I saw this posted once on Droid forms or xda but can't fnd it and I'm on liberty 2.0.1 and is wondering if I can get the new market update without changing roms

Try using rom manager to download and flash the most current Google apps pack. That should work...
Dispatched at the Speed of Light from my XOOM
Search for the new market on 4shared, install it then.

OK I looked at the Tom manager could not find what u were talking about unless u had to buy it so I ended up trying the 4 share download and all I get are force closes now no app market

Try placing in system/app and reboot.

Rooted Stock Razr M is extremely "doggy"

My Razr M over the past couple days has become increasingly "doggy" (for lack of a better word), by that I mean when touching an app on my screen it takes a few seconds to load, etc. I want to try to figure out what the issue is myself but I am not well versed in the best way to do this. When I look at the battery stats the top two drivers are 'Display' and 'Android System', which I think is fairly typical. I am not sure if it is a RAM issue or something is eating my Processing or what.
Any tips, ideas, suggestions and/or tricks that anyone can provide me with to troubleshoot this? I would greatly appreciate it.
Check setting , apps, running apps and see if something is hogging memory. Wiping your caches will probably help too.

I am not sure at what line an app is considered to become a hog but here is the top 5 on my list
Settings (52MB)
Norton Mobile Security (23MB)
Amazon Appstore (39MB)
Swiftkey (24MB)
FaceBook (25MB)
What's your total memory used at the bottom of that screen and try using seeder from the play store it helps with lag a bit

Yep that's low. Do you have a ton of apps installed? If so have you tried Greenify to hibernate some while not in use? Freezing some bloat may help too

I will try that thanks

Is there a list of bloatware that is safe to freeze?

I know this is vague because everyone's definition of bloat is different but I froze a lot of crap

I froze some stuff and it's helping but I don't want to freeze something that will screw up my system.

As long as you're not messing with the system services your not going yo break anything that can't be easily fixed. make a backup just to be safe
