Have i bricked my phone?

Hi. I were running a rooted stock rom with the newest radio and spl and ra recovery. I decided to try rom manager(i think thats what its called). I flashed the recovery, i believe it is called clockwork. When i rebooted my phone it just keeps rebooting at the htc logo. I cant enter recovery or anything. Is there a way out of this or can i just throw it in the dumpster?
Can you get into fastboot? Take the battery out and pop it back in. Then try powering on holding down back+power. You should get a screen with three Androids skateboarding. If you can get the port the information here. If you can and it just does the boot loop, do the battery again hitting the back button repeatedly, give that a few tries and see where it gets you.

Thanks for your reply but i cannot get into fastboot either. Ive tried holding every single key while booting xD. It just keeps doing the same thing. Reboot at the "HTC Magic" screen. I hangs for some seconds so ive also tried to see if i could grab it from adb but without success.

Did they take it back under the warranty? Did you mod your phone?
Do you get the blue led & black screen when pressing trackball + power at boot?
I get blue led but no fastboot or recovery

Can u fix this

So that means your device isn't fully bricked - your hardware seems to be working, and you should be able to restore the device using JTAG (search the forums). Though I managed to restore mine by resetting some stuff with draining battery and repeatedly trying again. I'd recommend you to try too.

Bricked or fried?

Hello, i have an htc magic 32b with cyanogenmod 6. I installed the oc kernel from pershoot and when i click on reboot it rebooted but it stucked in the vodafone's logo, i removed the battery and now i can't start the phone. It doesn't do anything. I have tried to recharge the battery and to replace it, but the only thing i get is a orange led when i plug in the charger. When i press the red button nothing happens. I don't have recovery nor fastboot, and the pc doesn't recognize the phone. Any possibility to get back the phone?or i just have to send it to repair?
Thanks a lot

Sorry, the oc kernel was from dumfuq, not from pershoot, and was the one specifically for cm6 32b

I rooted the Defy then flashed CM7 and didn't know how to boot into recovery without CWM so I flashed an old recovery (Noob move) and sent my phone into a boot loop with the google cm7 logo and the battery died so I used the trick wire to to get power for RSD lite ... I start flashing the rom the screen says updating but when it goes to reboot it never turns back on ... can someone please help me if possible
Ps ty to whomever helps me ... kinda in a bad situation

Do a Google search for going into recovery mode for yor phone n then wipe cache n data...
Then reboot. Phone will boot

Thanks for the reply bro ... but the only thing I get out of the phone rightnow is the bootloader when its attached to RSD lite

perhaps easiest is to just start from beginning flash a clean sbf - root it again and install cm7 again.
after flash of sbf you should be able to get into the recovery menu again (press power plus vol - when switching on the phone), so you can clear cache. then booting should not be a problem.
Thanks for the reply ... I flashed the stock US tmobile 2.2.1 sbf and it worked out fine

That happened to me as well I think I read in one of the forums the reason for that is because you flashed the wrong sbf. Did the same thing as you I just flashed the nordic one instead and it worked out beautifully.
Yea worked fine for me with the name change ... only thing is the battery reads as a question mark ... I have no clue why ... but I use a battery dock to charge the battery instead of the phone

When entered into stock mode

If ur batteries not dead all u have to do is get RSD lite working on your computer an flash an official SBF and it will restore your phone to stock

If ur battery is fully dead which is the reason u can not get into the bootmode (Volume up + power) then you have to create a trick wire called the macgyver which u can find the instructions to do that in the Motorola Defy Xda Wiki ... once u get that working to power up ur phone thru ur computer then u can get RSD lite working

Why don't you folk read a very handy FAQ?
[FAQ] Cyanogenmod 7 by Quarx
I followed it and got CM7.1 installed perfectly fine.

Problem with no recovery mode

I have a nexus 7 (1st gen) sometime ago I rooted it but it appears that something didn't go quite right.
I can get into fast boot menu but when I goto the recovery mode I just get a dead android with "!" symbol.
I currently don't own a Windows computer of any kind.
How can I put a recovery on my nexus so that I can flash (or even do a factory reset).
Cheers

[Q] a501 bricked and the recovery mode does not work

I have a rooted a501 tablet and I accidentally bricked it after I tried to Install gL tools on it.
But when I boot into recovery it just shows some small white words on the top left corner then it shows and Android guy with a yellow triangle in it. And when I boot my tablet up normally it just shows the acer logo and it wont go past that.
I got one doing the same thing. Nothing has helped.

I did some research on it and i figured out that all i need to do to unbrick it is move some files around to fix it but i cant get my computer to apply the drivers for the tablet.
