[solved] Gmail sync contacts problem

Hello,
When syncing my contact, gmail syncs the "All contacts" category. I used to use the Google Sync thought ActiveSync on my Touch HD: it was nicely using the "My Contacts" category to sync.
How can I have my Hero to sync the "My Contacts" category ?
Regards
try this
open the people app > groups > menu > sync groups and then deselect all contacts.
Thanks a lot that done it

Week numbers

With my HTC P3600 I could choose to show the week numbers in the calender.
Is it still possible to do this on my HD2?
It is possible in the standard calendar. Start > Outlook > Calendar, then Menu > Tools > Options > 'Show week numbers'.

But unfortunately not visible with the HTC Sense calendar, right?

Yet another Exchange question

I have managed to add my account via Accounts & Settings but only options to sync contacts and calendar. BUT when selecting synchronize -nothing happens - says its been synced but no contacts nor items in the calendar appears!
When going to Mail app and adding my mail account same way it says that it cannot connect to the server. WTF - does the exchange not working at all?
Did you try
Settings > Accounts and sync > under Manage Accounts > Sync Calendar / Sync Contacts "Touch to sync now"
you can set your sync settings here, did you enable Push and auto-sync?

You might need to confirm if there is any issue at your Exchange server (but Your Exchange Admin will never admit
ok, let's take 1 step back, and do some fundamental check
1. did you manage to login to your Exchange in the phone? (you should get a pop-up notification if you failed)
2. did you send any email out?
3. did you manage to receive any email?
It is working with HTC Desire so the answer is yes, my Exchange server is fine
any idea which firmware you having?

Google calendars X SGS Calendar - Fight!

I've been fighting with this feature and still didn't figured out the problem pattern.
Some calendars that I create online don't show up in the Samsung Calendar App.
I managed to export/import the events from the ones that don't show to the ones that show. But I would like to pinpoint this problem.
I installed another calendar app (Gemini) just to check. The app can show all the calendars unlike the samsung calendar app, but the events are still missing from those calendars that Samsung app hides.
Anybody experienced this?
I just flashed to JM6 and tested this right away. The problem still exists.
Your Samsung Calendar app syncs flawlessly with Google Calendars?
What is happening? Nobody has this problem?
There is no setting that prevents the calendars to sync with the phone. What could be happening here?
In calendar app, try Setting > Calendar and tick on your google account.
I wish it was that simple
Anyhow after scrubbing the web I found the solution. It's not that hard, now that I know how. This could be used for a lot of sync problems that have no apparent reason:
goto Settings > Accounts & sync > tap your gmail account > uncheck Sync Calendar
now,
goto Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > menu > Filter > all > Calendar > Clear data
back out to the Applications list and go into Calendar Storage > Clear data
This should wipe out everything in your calendar. Now go back into your gmail account and re-check Sync Calendar
Voilá!!!!! It works. I'm happy.
What a star!
I had this happen for the first time today, glad you sussed it for me

Prevent Syncing Multiple Accounts

I have two Google accounts setup on my Android. I only want one of the accounts to sync contacts and calendar with Gmail, but it automatically syncs both accounts. How do I prevent it from doing that?
When I try to delete one of the accounts, it gives me an error saying "This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults..."
If I do a factor reset, will it remove all my current contacts, calendar, messages, app, etc?
Try this:
Go into Settings > Accounts & Sync > click on your google account you don't want to sync anymore, untick the options for syncing.
I'm not sure if it will allow you to not sync but I can't see why it shouldn't

There is no "checkbox" to prevent syncing. If I tap on it, it starts automatically syncing.
I am running froyo 2.2
