Beta testers required for 6.5 test rom - TG01 ROM Development

I have built a rom using WM6.5 and my sense hybrid at the request of some users in my 6.5.5 rom thread.
It flash's and boots, but thats as much testing as i've done. So now i need beta testers to flash it and give me bug reports.
Please understand this is a BETA and may have limited functionality, i make no guarantees. If you break your phone its not my fault, you download and flash this rom at your own risk. That said i have flashed it 4 or 5 times and was successful on each attempt, but i have no time to test it fully.
I look foward to your reports

Part 2

Known Bugs:
Code:
Menu button doesn't work on any tab except home.
Start menu icons aren't complete.

reserved..........

You can post images of the rom? Thank you.

i can give you feedback during next week. Little busy right now.

just loaded the rom, will play for a day or two and give feedback, looking good though, i like the android icon for the start menu
tested for a while and noticed also that the menu button on weather crashes manilla (send error report), so can't set up location, also every time the screen turns off after a minute and when i press the power button to show lock screen there is nothing so i have to hold the power button for about 15 secs untill it reboots, i found this frustrating so i reloaded your last rom,
i have to say though that this rom will be the better rom when all the issues are ironed out, i thought it was faster and on first boot every thing was set for the u.k.
great for us living in england, I will be looking forward to loading this rom when it is faialized, great work from a great chief

Will give a hand testing this rom.
One thing from first look, it works pretty fast and looks quiet well, but the icons for the buttons look kinda strange if u ask me.
And the amont of ram available is really low, 35 mb at softreset
This is no critic , it's what i saw in the first place
Will test more and see if i find some bugs
Due to less amont of ram I can't use this rom because i need it for opera and other stuff i use simultaneously and that it slows down after using it a while.
One bug i found is that the comm manager always pops up on startup without any reasons.

You can put images of this rom? Includes editor cht? Answer me please thanks in advance

To unlock you just press the left soft key labelled unlock. Took me a little while to figure that out to.

It's the same as the 6.5.5 rom, but with a 6.5 sys and xip.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm away for a week from tomorrow so there won't be any updates or replys for a week.

is stable? Again the animation is as fast as the weather wm6.5.5?

news?
hi is there any news on this rom, i look forward to a final new release
imho, i think you could perhaps re-cook ffboys 6.5 sense rom, it needs bug fixing especially because ffboy has apparently left the forum...

Looking for help with Manilla2D. Device running EXTREMLY slow =(

Well I did 2 hard resets to see if Manilla2D was the problem and i'm using just that and the stock sprint 6.1 ROM and all of a sudden im having a couple annoying problems and wondering if there is any fixes to them.
- When I click on a Text Message from the main screen and it brings up the threaded texting, when im using XT9 and I start typing it will type as if im holding down the letters like if I press the "as" button "?" will come up, and for me to type normal i have to go to Start>Programs>Messaging, which is really annoying lol.
- Another one is im using the TouchFlo2D Dialer, if i switch to keypad from call status the whole phone freezes up and i have to soft reset
- everytime i restart my touch i get a startkey.exe error and i just hit dont send and start up touchflo.
- last problem/bug that i can remember is that my phone is really really slow and i have nothing on it except manilla2d.
these are the steps i did to install manilla 2D idk if it will help solve my problem:
copied the "EMPTY" biotouch.exe and 3 other files I got from XDA and put them in the "Windows" folder, then used resco registry editor and disabled the cube, then installed all the cabs for Manilla2D to my "Device" not storage card, (it asked me to soft reset after some of them, but i didnt since i was going to soft reset after i finished installing them all.) then soft reseted and manilla2d works just is really laggy =(
any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you in advance =D
I had the same problem with my phone running extremely slow whenever i tried installing manila 2d on my phone through the cab installs. I flashed to a custom rom with manila 2d built in it and the problems went away. It runs extremely smooth now.
ive never flashed my phone and only way i would do it if i had someone walk me through it as im doing it=\
How did you get the 6.1 ROM? You would flash it the same way as you did that one.
i just installed it from the htc site or whatever, but for custom roms dont you have to do all that unlocking and what not?

It's not terribly hard - in fact, the unlocking process is very similar to how you flashed the official ROM update.
Just use COKE's unlocker (just an app like the flasher) and install any custom ROM you want
this slowness has happened to me with a custom rom, i think its manilla.
it was very wierd, overall the entire OS was mega slow and un-usable as the OP said
I found what works best for me is piecing everything. I took everything from Update 19 except M2D-Beta-x.xx(Update19).cab. I installed M2D-Beta-x.xx(Update 15).cab (anything after made my device slow). I installed the latest version of Opera.
(sorry for the dots I'm just looking at them on my phonenand it's not showing all of the titles on some.)
First I ran:
HTC.home.v2.1.1005.722.directory.and.......... .cab
So From 19:
Enchasement..outlook.and.picture...... .cab
Audio Manager_2.0_1819.2129.cab
FSP, DShow, WMP, Youtube, Video Fixes.cab
Album_2.0_1818.3829.4.cab
Task_Manager_2.1 34837.5.cab
GoogleMaps_compressed.cab
HTC_Opera9.5.2392_www.cab(This is not from 19 Found it in another thread)
YouTubeQVGA1_5_1819_1531.and.mhubVO.cab
From Update 15:
M2D-Beta-0.08(Update 15).cab
Good Extras:
digital clock
Ringtone_plugin_1.00.080416.2.cab
Volume_control.cab
UI Tweaker
If you need this packaged let me know.
Great manilla2d rom
Hey guys.
If your looking for a good, fast, stable rom with manilla29 PLEASE flash this rom..............
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432487
NFSFAN has spent lots of time on this and is by far THE BEST manilla2d rom there is out there. He is constantly update bugs and getting the fixes out as soon as possible. This is the closest thing you can get to the diamond/touch pro without buying one. Any questions please feel free to ask BUT READ ALL DIRECTIONS ON FLASHING IF YOU HAVE NOT YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to second that.
I used to have the stock Bell 3.09.666.10 ROM, with (my last incarnation) update 21. To get all the parts of M2D running (yuotube etc) you have to install alot of patches and tweaks.
My theory has always been, if you have to add too many parts to get something to work, maybe you should start over. Google "Beech 1900D" to see how this applies to aircraft!! A custom ROM with everyhting cooked in oem style runs much better than a Frankenstien special.
It is fun trying to get everything to work though.
When I first added M2D to my device it was extremely slow. After playing around for a while I found that the page pool played a huge roll in the speed of the rom. My page pool is set at 24 and I have no problems at all. I have had no problems with NFSFAN's roms. I believe the PP is already set to 24. Hope this helps.

[solved] Quick List & Power off -> SYS 21898 problem!!!

I updated my kitchen to Sys 21898 and now I recognized the following problem:
If I long press the right button for the Quick list and push then "Power off" the device turns off... fine... but if I want to turn it on again with pressing this right button again, nothing happens. To turn on the device I have to push manual the reset button on the back.
Anybody a hint what went wrong and where to look?
Edit: After testing a week I found out it was a problem with the newest Sys 21898, go back to 21895, also confirmed in kwbr thread (update from 21898 back to 21897
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6089404&postcount=1644 )
Well it seems like that my snd battery ( east Asia product) was the reason of this behaviour. after using my standard Htc battery everything is normal again.

Hell, I blame the wrong things all the time. A couple of months ago, all of a sudden my boot-time (after a soft reset) increased by about 20 seconds. It drove me nuts. I have pocket digital clock on my Today screen, and I would see it skip seconds (2 or three at a time), then freeze for a good 17 seconds before it would start going again (32, 34, 36, 39, 56, 57..., lol). I hadn't done anything obviously stupid to cause it to happen. I went back to some older builds, and kept seeing it. I finally figure out what it was last night-one fricking shortcut in my start menu was causing it. I'm not sure why, maybe it has the wrong resolution of or something, but if I remove that one shortcut, the boot-time is 20 seconds shorter, and pocket digital clock doesn't get constipated. (It's for Panoramic Guitar Suite, which I never even play with, btw.)
Yes, that's quite funny - but took a time to find out
I flashed a lot on Monday and was running out of battery, so I took my spare battery (Ebay) to go with flashing.
Normally I don't use the inbuilt power off function...
Thought all the time I made a mistake with updating the kitchen, because I updated - for me the first time - Base und Sys together.
Sorry, I think it's also in the wrong area then...
Edited first post, it wasn't a hardware problem! Perhaps useful for others...
I'm having no such issues, 21898 works like a charm out of the box.
There's nothing wrong with 21898 to my opinion.

Well I read your thread here about the SOD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=658360
Perhaps it's useful to compare the SYS-files:
I am not a pro, but for me it defintely hangs together with the SYS 21898 files from here (working with Vistang-Kitchen)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6019219&postcount=499
Then there must be some faults in these files.
Hmm also kwbr went back to older build.
The conclusion should be that the SOD depends on how to gain/handle the SYS-files or perhaps also the Kitchen (!).
hi guys
i didnt wanted to start a new topic as this one is also about the long press end key
i have a problem with it wich i cant figure out
where are all the places to set what long press end key should do?
i want it to lock the phone
in the dutch verison i cook it works like this way
in the wwe version it is set to disconnect data
in the wwe and nld kitchen i use the same packages and have the same certificates and it is driving me nuts
can someone please tell me where to set the behauvier of the end key
If you're using the HTC longpressendkey package, then it should just be in the app.reg; I believe it's set in HKCU\Software\HTC\Longpressendkey. I personally haven't used that package in a long time, because it has like 200 files to just assign one stinking button, in typical HTC fashion. The default setting for the raphael is to lock the phone with long press end, so it seems like a huge waste to me. Just leave that crap out of your rom, and you should (well, may) be fine. I'm not sure if it's an oem setting or if it's a microsoft setting, to be honest.

thanks for the rep farmer ted
i did use a htc package called long press end key
and there are only a few files in there(in every long press end key package i have)
but i will try to leave it out and see what happens as the registers for nld and wwe packages are both the same:-o

[10-Aug-2010][WWE] Pajerm Beta1 ROM - [SYS 21907]

Hello everyone!
Many people asked me to create an English rom. After two weeks of hard work here it is! probably suffers many bugs and so it's still a beta. I ask you kindly to try it and leave me a feedback.
Features:
- This is a lite rom: FREE RAM over 60%
- Manila is not cooked in, but I leave you a Manila themed cab:
http://www.4shared.com/file/gRnpBXUr/2DManila_201919143204Pajerm_MO.html
- This rom is already overclocked at 276MHz and then do not install other overclocking tools
- If you use operamini here is the cab:
http://www.4shared.com/file/DM-6KS5d/mini5wm.html
- I made several customizations that I hope you like them
How to install:
- Flash this ROM as usual
- Reboot your phone
- If this rom becomes slow and you can not open the CommManager or homsettings then install this cab in the phone memory:
http://www.4shared.com/file/fndT0s2N/fp7_ppc_en.html
- Apply the Acid Green theme in homesettings, I created it for this rom.
- If you like manila now you can install it and then restart the phone
Download link:
http://www.4shared.com/file/-L6ZW83g/WWE_Pajerm_beta1_10-08-2010.html
Screenshots:
thanks dear Pajerm
will try it
I downloaded the ROM and have loaded it and my first impression is that it is a very fast, smooth ROM. Of course it is overclocked so that could help a little bit too.
I did have a problem getting the volume buttons to work and having it slow down and freeze when trying to get into the CommManager but after installing this that all went away.

You are right, the icon isn't there but it does appear to be syncing up with my headset.
One thing I have found is that with M2D v1.2 that I can't create a text message from the M2D shortcut. But if I go through the start menu to Messaging and then create a new text message it seems to work fine. Sorry, I did have M2D v2.0 loaded first but never tried texting from it before I hard reset and then loaded M2D v1.2.
Am typing this out as the ROM boots for the first time, have to say its off to an imressive start, the boot animation is sweet, super fast ROM!! The stock keyboard seems ever so slightly larger. makes typing very much easier, though i think there is a small glitch in the messaging section. the msgs dont get saved in the right order and instead of showing the time of recieving the msg it only shows the date. Tis' true that there is no notification of the bluetooth running but it does connect succesfully. Part from these minor issues this ROM is beautiful and can say without hesitation that this is one of the BEST ROMs i have ever used, will test battery life etc (bugs as well, if i can find any that is.)
Request you to make these changes ASAP, and there would be nothing better.
1) change the volume adjust style to that of stock (non-windowed type).
2) the volume adjustment bar and other such bars are extremely small and hard to use. Would be nice if you could increase the size.
If the problems cannot be addressed right away would be very kind of you to tell us how to resolve this problem ourselves, and i do hope i was clear enough to get my points out clearly.

I just hard reset the phone and then reloaded Manila v2.0 and I can't create a text message through M2D with it either. So it appears that it could be the same issue with both versions of M2D.
I do remember a problem like this happening with another ROM too. I'll try and take a look around the forum and see if I can find it and if they came up with a solution.

Iswear this was a better rom than jagans...not trying to dissapoint any1,but i have found some problems so went back to the stock...well,the volume is a problem...but still,i liked the rom...
Test Drive
Today was first day of the test drive, noticed a few glitches.
1) clockspeed drops to 186MHz after a while, not sure as to y it drops
2) Manila (the one you included) has problems in the music section, continues to search and search.
3) Windows Media Player is unable to handle 320kbps audio easily. (Just skips tracks)
4) Not having the scroll bar i thought was a good idea but i did notice that some apps become hard to use such as OMAPclock itself (It uses a sideways scroll bar, i think and not having the scroll bar leaves us unable change clock speed manually,
5) Battery gets consumed really really fast, (its not a side affect of the overclocking). Only while the screen is running.
6) On install of Ezinput, the ROM has to be restarted but it hangs in the Primary Splash screen itself.
7) Realised mp4 is not supprted. (This isnt a glitch and not sure if it really does need to be include, this should depend on demand.)
btw, amazing boot speed!!!
As far as the Manila "Music" Tab goes, this cab file should help. Something i downloaded a while back right here at xda
Am amazed at your working speed. hats off to you.
you rom is good, but I can't use this. internet and Camera can't

[Q] blackstone virtual button doesn't work

Hi all.
First time in this part of the forums, so please excuse if it will sound like noob.
I've searched and couldn't find it so decided to post it...
I have a Touch HD Blackstone phone, I'm trying to cook myself a very small and quick ROM for it, as I do not need most of the apps you get with the other ROMs. When I cook plain ROM then virtual buttons (green, home, back and red) on it doesn't work. When I use one of the ROMs you get with the kitchen these work but got a lot of other apps.
Can someone tell me which module/ext package is responsible for handling these buttons? I really do not fancy trying them all 1 by 1, there is quite a few over there and cooking + flashing isn't the quickest thing to do.
Thanks in advance,
Yeramihi
Just be sure to include:
- ButtonSetting (i use version 3_16_0_0)
- TouchFlo (I use version 3_0_19142028)
and every thing will be OK

Thanks for reply.
Well, I have deliberately excluded TouchFlo from my ROM. But following your advice I Cooked empty ROM with just TouchFlo and ButtonSettings. Unfortunately On my phone it causes lots of problems. On same screens (regardles of app or menu itself) it takes over a second for the phone to register and acknowledge taps. And it always happens on the phone keypad.I can dial first two numbers but after that I need to hold my finger/stylus on the screen for at least second to be able to tap next number. Or any other key on the screen in a fact. I've managed to put this down to TouchFlo...
For some reason this happens only with SYS starting from 25xxx (more finger friendly version). I wouldn't mind using old one if I could only get some stock release of it from which I could start my work. Most of the old ones I could find are either fully modified (and I would like to start from square one) or links are expired.
So next question will be: can someone provide me with stock ROM for TouchHD version 21xxx please?
SiemensLover - Thanks for your advice - turned out to be exactly what I was looking, although it gives me another problem :/
Cheers
to solve the screen tap delay, be sure to have the following entry in ur registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Touch\Filter]
"MinimumTapTime"=dword:00000000
It will solve ur problem!

[ROM] fxdjacentyfxd's 6.1 clean ROM - feedback/beta tests

Hi all,
Since I was beta testing fxdj's 6.1 clean rom and different versions, I have created this thread. I have sent few feedbacks already in 6.5 thread but since that was cluttering too much for that particular ROM, I've decided to put everything here and if fxdj wants, he can continue his further developments and updates on this thread. I am happy to rename the thread if needed later on.
DOWNLOAD LINKS NOW AVAILABLE FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BETA-TEST THIS 6.1 ROM-IN-MAKING
All credit goes to:
Fxdj for cooking
Mangasora clean 6.1 rom
feropont's kitchen
So here is the feedback for 3 clean versions and 4th Version which is nearly release candidate 1.
Fxdj said: "Version 1 (click to download): Should have about 4MB more RAM, be stable but may be lagy?"
My beta test results are:
Flashed using fxdj sddl+ as .tsw file and it took 2 minutes to flash.
Boot status – Normal boot – no issues
Screen alignment – Very quick
Auto cab install – 35 seconds
[*]Issues: After cab installation, the phone soft-resets and then freezes at Green Welcomehead screen. Battery had to be pulled out in order to restart the phone.
[*]Issues: The home button does not take me back to my today screen. I am not sure if in 6.1 ROMs the home button is meant to take me out of any program and bring me to today screen. I am presuming ideally that is what it should do. But in this rom, it's not doing that.
Performed the hard reset once the phone was on
[*]RAM after hard reset: 151.07 mb
[*]ROM after hard reset: 330.12 mb
Comments: Works very fast. No lags, no hangs, no freezes, all programs work as normal. Wasn’t able to test the call quality, but since it’s radio 1600, it is the one that’s worked the best for me.
Fxdj said "Version 2 (click to download): Should have about 4MB more RAM, but I do not know it is stable in all conditions"
My beta test results are:
Flashed using fxdj sddl+ as .tsw file and it took 2 minutes to flash.
Boot status – Longer boot. ‘Toshiba’ logo stays for longer time, don’t get scared. It goes away in few more seconds.
Screen alignment – Very quick
Auto cab install – 25-30 seconds
[*]Issues: The home button does not take me back to my today screen. I am not sure if in 6.1 ROMs the home button is meant to take me out of any program and bring me to today screen. I am presuming ideally that is what it should do. But in this rom, it's not doing that.

Flashed using fxdj sddl+ as .tsw file and it took 2 minutes to flash.
Boot status – Normal boot
Screen alignment – Very quick
Auto cab install – 25-30 seconds
Issues: Home button issue again – it doesn’t take us to ‘today’ screen.
Performed the hard reset once the phone was on
RAM after hard reset: 155.61 mb
[*]ROM after hard reset: 330.12 mb
Comments: Works very fast. No lags, no hangs, no freezes, all programs work as normal. Wasn’t able to test the call quality, but since it’s radio 1600, it is the one that’s worked the best for me.
But, BUT – yes BUT : This version, seems a little only a tad slower than first 2. You can only notice this slowness when you have quite a few programs running. e.g. I had ALL the start menu apps running i.e. “MULTI-TASKING” and I found it only a little slow (in microseconds) – I won’t call it slow personally.
Fxdj said: "Version 4 (click to download) is fixed for SPB icons, is RAM optimized, has HTC menus, working home key"
My beta test results are:
Flashed using fxdj sddl+ as .tsw file and it took 4 minutes to flash.
Boot status – Normal boot
Screen alignment – Very quick
Auto cab install – nearly 2 minutes
Issues: SPB icons, still blank (same 3 icons) - see screenshot
Issues: HTC Menu - Since I've not used it so often, I might be wrong. But I think the start menu isn't displaying correctly- see screenshot
Issues: Your tweak icons are all in start menu. I have noticed they were in a folder generally in other versions - see screenshot
Performed the hard reset once the phone was on
RAM after hard reset: 145.85 mb
[*]ROM after hard reset: 295.97 mb
Comments: Home button fix works perfectly now! Works very fast. No lags, no hangs, no freezes, all programs work as normal. Wasn’t able to test the call quality, but since it’s radio 1600, it is the one that’s worked the best for me.
PLEASE NOTE:
I have followed a specific "safe" flashing procedure:
Hard reset current ROM
FLASH STOCK
Hard reset stock ROM
FLASH NEW ROM
Hard reset NEW ROM
Use it, test it, abuse it.
GO TO STEP 1
Reserved for screen shots etc.
It might be a good idea if users interested in a 6.1 ROM from fxdj, will come forward and show their interest here. Any suggestions for how the rom could be etc, would help fxdj to tweak further. Also big cooks like MIRO could tie-up with fxdj if possible to get some sort of sense (compressed one if possible) ROMs with 6.1 OS (with 155mb RAM to play, I think SENSE will flow smooooth!)
hi drupad2drupad,
thank you for opening this thread!
I am very interested in 6.1 ROMs as it seems that I get a much better battery life than with 6.5.x.
I would love a sense ROM with transcriber as an input method possible (the miro transcriber fix only works for 6.5.x ROMs).
Further it is maybe possible to somehow include a nicer built in lock screen. The problem here is that if you sync with exchange server the security policy forces you to use OS PIN lock screen of 6.1 and it is kinda ugly.

Hi all,
Since I was beta testing fxdj's 6.1 clean rom and different versions, I have created this thread. I have sent few feedbacks already in 6.5 thread but since that was cluttering too much for that particular ROM, I've decided to put everything here and if fxdj wants, he can continue his further developments and updates on this thread. I am happy to rename the thread if needed later on.
PS: I am happy, very happy, to share the DOWLOAD LINKS with anyone and everyone who wants to test this for fxdj BUT, I will wait till fxdj confirms that he doesn't mind his work being shared. If he says he is OK, then I will add DOWNLOAD links for Beta-tests too

Of course I do not mind anybody other test the roms so You can share the links. More tests - more knowledge whether any of the roms is worthy to deal with in the future.
It should be added , the roms are based on Mangasora clean 6.1 rom so thanks Him for this rom and
prepared in feropont's kitchen so thanks Him too for His kitchen.

It is well known problem of home button in my roms . I guess I can fix it in the same way ( in any of these three roms ) I did it for my WM6.5 roms. I think there is something with OEM packages, I partially cleaned up few months ago when I started my adventures with tg01.
I am really astonished this version freezes. I hoped it would worked the best
It was one time freeze or every time it freezes ?
So we have 3 versions and question which should be the base for adding some software ( of course SPB shell as a first ).

The freeze with version 1 was only for once. It followed cab install process after flash. Once I removed battery and started my phone again, everything was normal then on. I re-flashed it later on, and then the problem was gone. Hence I dont think it was anything to do with the ROM. May be a bad flash? or me being impatient?
If I was to choose from all 3 version, I would choose definitely the ver3 as it's got highest FREE RAM. So when we use TF3D or SPB MS, we still would have plenty of free RAM. But it will be interesting to see if two things can be solved before:
a) home button (for which you already know the solution)
b) The 3 missing icons in settings after we install SPB MS on 6.1 ROMs. It's not just this rom, but all other 6.1 ROMs too, that when we intall SPB MS, the 3 icons in settings don't appear. This makes it 'appear' less functional.
I have tried SPB Shell in ver3 today and everything works perfectly normal. There is no lag as such, but I still feel it to be less smoother than ver 2.
Ver 2. was the smoothest in operation even with SPB MS on it. But since SPB is taking up to 12-14mb RAM when used with 3D acceleration, I think having extra RAM on ver 3. is beneficial.

Could You give me more details because I have only heard about mentioned problems but I do not know what is exactly on :
1) Mentioned 3 icons disappear after SPB Shell installation at all or rather we have three "standard" settings icons ( gears icons or similar )
2) For what settings are the icons responsible for ?
Because I like clunky methods to solve this or other problems, maybe I would be able to do any kind of patch.

Yes, it may be true and caused by other way of increasing of RAM.
It would be good any other person(s) test it but even if we not await any additiona tests, I will release cooked rom but people do not complain then, if any problems occure

I checked it under simulator. I installed there SPB Shell 3.5.5. WM6.1 was so called
"WM 6.1 professional"
What I noticed is :
1)
a) In pure system settings->system we have 15 icons
b) In settings->system under SPB we have 14 icons. There is no icon "Encryption" available in pure system settings
2)
a) In pure system settings->personal we have 8 icons
b) In settings->personal under SPB we have 8 icons too
3)
a) In pure system settings->connections we have 6 icons
b) In settings->connections under SPB we have 5 icons. There is no "USB to PC" available in pure system settings.
So I can see 2 not 3 missed icons. Are above missed icons the same as in real not simulated WM 6.1 ?

Hi,
The icons we are missing are:
System,
Personal and
Connection
The main icons. We get a text that says "system", "Personal" and "connection"
but on top of them, it's just empty space. When you hit that space, it takes us to respective sub-menus in SPB.
I guess it might be because 'system', 'personal' and 'connection' are 3 different tabs on normal 6.1 ROMS and hence have no icons of their own anyway.

I understand now. We have submenus but main three icons are absent - only texts say us what we have either "system" or "personal" or "connections".
Under simulator it looks better because instead any nice icon I have directory symbol connected with gear symbol. The same for all 3 mentioned icons.
So only problem seems to be how to change :
1) texts in Your case
2) this gear and directory symbols in simulator case
on any nice icons we want.
I will try to see what I can do with it. If under simulator it go ok, it should go ok in real system too.

Yes that's the exact problem!
I am more than happy to test version 4 with these changes, your magic and SPB Shell installed Also, is it possible to not have 'happy face' implementation and instead a 'black patch' that matches task bar colour? That way, even if by mistake a user was to click that top right corner, it would do nothing at all (in background obviously it will show this 'black patch' instead of smiley face).
This http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=580568 shows a taskbar where such patch is applied. As I know you like making your own, but if not, you could cook this patch in.
OR
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=812337
By doing this, you will more or less create a 'SPB ROM' - but with your 'double tap' implementation - it will be safe for users to still get start menu back if they tap twice on top left corner.

Hi drupad.
I did some experiment under simulator and changed "personal" icon ( gear + directory 'book' ) to other icon so I think that in real system there should be no any problems with it. I only have to find nice .png icons for "personal", "connections" and "system".
Maybe You can give me them ? I do not like to deal with graphic, brrrrr .
What concerns "face" , I explained You few weeks ago in any other thread that "face" is absolutely not needed in 6.1 so I am not going to use it at all. As people say, locking WM start menu in WM6.1 gives nothing as far as increase of RAM amount is concerned so why utilize it at all ? Apart from SPB menu we will "get" natural simple menu . If anyone does not want to have such menu it can be "mapped" to SPB menu as I know , in SPB shell settings. Maybe I did not quite understand Your concept ?
Rest of my software will be applied of course.
What do You think about HTC enlarge menu here ? You know my attitude to HTC but as You know I fixed existing htc enlarge menu .cab ( so can treat it as my software ) and can apply it as a .cab to all my .cab files in auto cab install.
I hope my explanations make You pleased

Hi fxdj!
Yes that all makes sense! I keep forgetting that winmo start menu saves nothing on 6.1 !!
It would be real treat to get those 3 icons. Could it be used from 6.5 ROM? Because 6.5 rom has 3 icons for these. That way it might save you time from re-sizing etc.
I also wanted to ask you if you cook 0321 version generally for your ROMs or do you prefer 1600? I was reading through radio changing kitchen thread and couldn't figure out if 0321 was giving best call quality over all for everyone.
HTC Enlarge menu_fxdjmod - Yes!! That will save us from coming across any small icons at all!! There is a 'today theme' that makes the actual line spacing in 6.1 a bit more finger friendly. I will try to dig that cab for you and put some screen shots. That will go well with HTC Enlarge menu. That will give us an option to change 'today theme' + make overall 6.1 icons smoother and finger friendly like 6.5 but won't affect the speed and RAM.

I utilized 321 radio in the past but now I have 1600.
321 the best ? Hard to say . Some people have GPS problems with it
and I can ensure You it is buggy as far as battery charging is concerned.
I wrote about it in my WM6.5 thread. Even with orignal battery driver
user can not see any progress in charging. Only after system restart one can see that battery has been charged. Anyway, like in case of my 6.5 rom I can issue it with two radios - 321 and 1600

Thanks drupad.
It seems it is time I have to flash it myself so that to fix found errors
but I will see maybe it will not be needed.
But as I can see from screenshots, system menu seems to be enlarged ? Start menu is not displayed correctly
because in my oppinion I did mistake and one can see my three directories in the start menu not original items.
I can also see that software that should be in separate directories is all in "programs".
I can see files from my "WOWHD" directory and my "Tools" directory. What about "Power" directory ? Is it absent too
and its files are in programs directory like other files ?
And what about Your feelings ? Is this rom prospective and worthy to deal with it to fix it ? It seems the forum dies
Anyway, people will be very pleased because of free RAM
Can I ask You about whole rom registry ( via fdcTaskManager ) ? Maybe I will find there some answers .
Maybe I will be able to prepare something before 16:00 so that You could test it - if You feel like of course
And finally, could You execute fxdjWM61SPBIconsSettingsFix.exe You have in \windows directory ? Tell me two things
after execution:
1) Did the software display any warning/error message
2) If it did not display anything , check whether "three settings" have still only descriptions without icons.

The 'power' directly comes as it self but not as an icon in 'Programs'. Its as an item in start menu.
I have attached whole start menu in screenshots with this one. You will notice that you can't see these icons when using without SPB. You can only see your 'loose' icons in Programs when we see through SPB menu.
In another screenshot - you can see that there is no 'fxdjWM61SPBIconsSettingsFix.exe ' file in /Windows directory. Could this be the reason why the icons are missing? May be it din't cook the file?
Let me know what you need to do with the Registry and I will attach screenshots for them too!
What worries me is the absence of everyone in the forum. I am getting a feeling that this forum is dying slowly. Probably because it's 'upgrade' time for most users and everyone is moving to different handsets (hopefully not iPhones!) I have my upgrade due in few weeks too but I will be around in forums from time to time as I've literally loved TG01 since day 1!
radio 321 is the best, reasonable for uk compared to the other official ROMs. Good luck

Exactly ! Two files ( maybe ) are missing. One fxdjWM61SPBIconsSettingsFix.exe in \windows directory and fxdjWM61SPBIconsSettingsFix.lnk in \windows\startup directory ( can You check it ? ). I have problems with dsmeditor so maybe it is why it did not add the files to .dsm file.

Yes, it is what I said some day that without enthusiasm of drupad and Oly this forum would die. On the other hand, many people seem to have their tg01 from relatively short time. Unfortunately, many people have them bricked irreversibly.
BTH. Is the upper bar "original" ? I mean it is the same as in Toshiba WM 6.1 system ? Mangasora ported sys from xx56 to xx57 and as I remember my tests of His rom, I did not like it too much. Is it possible to change upper bar to the same I have in WM 6.5 ?
I would not like to install any "android like" and others.
And why You do not like iPhone ? I do not like too it because .... I do not like it . The same as HTC software...

(view at xda index) many other forums have large support aswell! soon my tg01 can become my flashing phone when i get a new one, so i'll be able to beta test.. i was actually going to order my Desire S on sunday, but o2 changed the tariffs round...
but soon i can test for all cooks but as you know fxdj.. i am busy these few weeks
