Urgent help with digitizer - HD2 General

I recently broke the screen of my Leo T8585 and replaced the LCD + Digitizer with an original Hong Kong part.
After disconecting the working shattered part the digitizer never worked again. Even the shattered one ceased to work completely (LCD is working fine but digitizer has no response). A second replacement part was ordered and the problem persists, ie, replacement part is not the problem. Also part number is correct.
Can anyone tell me if there is a specific precedure for this replacement? Could there be a hardware/software lock I need to open? Strip contacts have been checked and are fine.
thanks in advance

I have the same problem! Did you find any solution? I think there is a problem with replacement parts but i still have not been able to try with an original one..

Digitizer Problem

I have a cracked digitizer and got a replacement. I've replaced this in the past no problem. However, out of the two new digitizers I've tried, none seem to be working. The screen comes on ok but cannot tap anywhere. I've hard reset the device and now I cannot use the phone as I'm asked to align the screen. Any ideas as to what has happened? I've opened it up a hundred times each time checking the connection. Now possibly I need to replace the whole lcd screen but am reluctant to do if it still will not fix my prob. any help is much appreciated.
I just know there are two versions of LCDs (with digitzer) for the P3600. You have to check the serial on the back and get the exact one. Maybe it`s the same for the digitizers and You got some from the other serial line ?

I've got the exact same problem. Replaced LCD and digitizer but it is still not working. Additionally the screen is a little yellowish. Anyone knows if this might be related and any idea who to possibly fix this?
Hi, I have exactly the same problems, even tried with 2 fresh new digitizers. Could it be that they are extremely sensitive on the inside? Or is it some glitch somewhere?
Extremely frustrating!
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

Help screen replacement problem!!!!

Hi guys, i followed all the indictaions on the official videos but i think i broke something! I had an HTC hd2 with a broken digitilizer but the screen worked fine. I bought a screen+digitilzer combo and replaced it but it didnt work.
The screen does not show anything (black screen) but the backlight of it is on!
I tought maybe was a problem of that lcd so i tested the original screen (that was working) and it does the same.
What could be the problem??
Please i need help
come onn, anyone ?
please guys, anyone ??
Sounds like a defective lcd to me. I'd try an RMA asap on getting another unit before your DOA warranty (if the lcd has one) runs out.
it's not the LCD. I had a working LCD but a defective digitizer, i bought the lcd+digitizer replacement and now both screens do the same , just the backlight is on. And before i change the screens the original lcd was working fine.
Could it be because the LCD is not correctly pasted into the chassis ? i really don't know what could it be the problem. The lcd is correctly connected to the mainboard. What could i broke in the process?
Thanks connexion2005 for the help anyways, is nice to see someone finally answered hehe!

If you were not really gental with the internal parts of the phone, more presisly the ribbons that connect each part to the main board you could have cause micro cracks in the copper strips of the ribbons. Look at the closely with a magnifying. glass if possible.
today i was able to sync it literally with no idea of what i was touching. I also figured that the digitizer works , i was able it dial some numbers. The phone appears to work.
So, Backlight is on, Touch (digitizer) also works, but not showing anything on the LCD.
Could it be a mainboard problem ?? I'm trying to use logic because i don't know anything about cellphones and how do they work in terms of components.
Could it be the ribbon ? I dont think so, i have two screens and both of them do the same (backlight on but not showing anything).
I'm clueless!
Don`t panic. Calm down, watch a demolution tuturial. You probably miss smt. Good luck
But it could be a ribbon...

Problem with HTC HD2 T-Mo

Hi i'm from México and i have a major problem with my T-Mobile HTC HD2... like 5 months ago the digitizer went unresponsive, so i used the trick "press the off button harder to make it work" so it did but 10 days later the digitizer just got unresponsive again, no matter what i did the digitizer won't response... so i read another posts and articles, and they say that replacing the digitizer would work... so my friend in california bought me a new digitizer and lcd "it was cheap" so he bring it to me in person... so i run to get my phone and test the replacement but "TADA!" still no response for it... the phone starts but i can get the digitizer to work.... i was wondering if the problem is the Keypad Flex? anyone got this problem before? Help appreciated!
no one? i'm desperate sucks that i bought the new digitizer and this thing is still not working
it could be that you have an hardware issue your mainboard could be broken not the digitizer...

3 possibilities(most likely):
#1: when you replaced combo, you damaged contact between MB and lcd connector on MB(it's not so hard, it happened to me too).
#2: new touchscreen could be faulty, testing it with another MB should be relevant.
#3: another hardware issue on MB, like some chip-controller of touchscreen, it happened to me once too.
Good luck!

[Q] HTC HD2 Touch replacement issue.

Hi guys..
I am new here kindly help me as this is my first msg in xda developer.
Ok let me start, I bought htc hd2 which had a touch problem only.. rest of the components are working fine. Now the issue is that i went to market for touch replacement but the shopkeeper said that this version of htc hd2 is very critical as the prints of touch pannel is not matching with other htc hd2 versions.. They replaced the whole pannel with lcd but it didn't work
Kindly tell me any help..
I am using tmobile version of htc hd2
Does not matter what version when replace with LCD as only difference is the solder & socket type connector used between lcd & digi.
All types will work on all models of HD2 when installed as LCD/digitizer set with no exceptions ...
I have done more than 30 HD2 digitizers & swapped LCDs & digitizers across model variants & had no issues.
If it not working they either had bad replacement parts or LCD ribbon connector on mainboard is damaged ...
Hi there,
First sorry for my bad english.
I have similar problem. Last weekend I replaced touch screen + digitizer. Everything went nice, everything works fine after assembly, but... sometimes digitizer did not respond. Usually it happens when I tried unlock the screen. Sometimes work immediately but sometimes I have several times press OFF button then tried to unlock. If screen not responding again OFF and ON. After several attempts it's works normal. Rarely happens during the normal operation, mainly when tried to unlock after wake up. What could be causing this? Faulty digitizer?
HD2 running original latest WM6.5 (firmware 3.14).

Could indeed be bad digitizer or perhaps bad button board or perhaps less than perfect connection on either digi to lcd or lcd to mainboard ...

Thanks for quick answer.
LCD & Digi I was bought is 60H00300 (socket one). Previous one (original factory) was soldered. I carefully disassembly and assembly and is 100% working except the digi sometimes not. But when I assembly everyting I do not apply double sided adhesive tape because simply I don't have at this moment (just yesterday I bought). Should I disassembly again, check connection lcd to digi and apply adhesive tape? It makes sense to do this? Is adhesive tape really that important?

So what holding lcd/digi assembly in if no adhesive tape present ?
It is possible some movement from your non adhesive assembly is causing the flex cable to have improper movemnt/stress thus intermittent connection.
Personally I would by another button board ribbon as only $2USD & with that it allows easy testing of device while open & assembly laid side by side plus if button flex is suspect you will have replacement in hand.
I would suspect a bad connection or if unlucky you got a bit of a faulty new lcd/digi assembly
since yours is new phone, they should just replace the whole set, should be still under warranty.

It's not under warranty. Phone is 2009 and I got it from my friend. Digitizer stop responding about two years ago and my friend rather than throw it through the window he gave it to me So I just replaced the screen & digi. Thats the story
htc lcd

I heard that HTC T-mobile has larger dimensions than normal HTC, and i think the LCD will also be bigger. Is it true?

Digitizer & LCD is 100% same size on all models with no exceptions.
The T-Mobile HD2 US version is 1.5mm longer but that is in the polymer housing at bottom of device under keys & screens are 100% same as I have swapped them & personally own a US T-Mobile HD2 & EU standard HD2
This info & more can be found in HD2 Wiki ...
