send call, 000000 as the password.

no CDMA settings
I did try that but there is no CDMA settings, I have attached some pics of the options and the info about the phone and it says network unknown.
Any ideas?

Service manual?
Does any know where i can get the service manual for the droid 2?
Thank you.

hope this helps
here is the motorola support page for the droid 2: http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-EN/Consumer-Support/Mobile-Phones/Motorola+DROID+2 this might help
and here is the verizon support page: https://smartphones.verizonwireless.com/SupportDetails/Phone/Motorola/Droid2#/zip|94707/page|275/products|1000:2125/filters|1:6
the user manual which comes with it from verizon is right here: (couldn't upload it to xda so it is on megaupload, you could also find it on the verizon support page)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VFVG15TE
Hope this helps!

service manual
thank you, but what i need is the service manual, not the user manual i have it.
I need it to try to configure data with a movile carrier in Mexico, voice and sms are working but not my data plan
any ideas?

solved
Finally, I figured out how to do it.
Basically is like the Droid, just you dont need to boot the phone pressing the "T" key, what you have to do is put the phone in usb PC mode, and from there is the same as the original Droid. Create a virtual com port and connect with QPST or CDMA WS.

Droid2 Simple Talk and Text flash to cricket

Hey guys,
Trying to do a little contributing, thought I would let everyone know something I found with the Droid2 when trying to flash to cricket, it will help you skip allot of steps in some other tutorials..
With the droid 2 in factory default settings, meaning comepletly reset and not activated on any network yet, get past initial droid set up screen by touching the four corners of the screen, starting upper left and go clockwise..
after you are past that skip over the setup and get to your home screen, open your dialer and dial *22804 and send, this will write a cricket prl and your nam to phone..
talk and regular text will work perfectly.. on my phone it downloaded PRL 32100 on the Droid 2 which is set up in crickets system as the (Sanyo M6000), on my actual cricket android device (Sanyo M6000) it has PRL 42100.. they are both on the 60Z android plan.
why there is a difference, I do not know.. In another thread I read that with the new plan etc.. all you should need is a evdo prl to get internet working on the phone since that plan needs no proxy, so autostart.sh and u2nl is useless, but internet will not work just by doing this simple programming method.
I would love to try and pull off the 42100 prl from the cricket android and write it to the droid2 to see if it solves the inet problem, but I have no software that can do it.. my trial for cdma workshop expired a long time ago, and I dont have the 100$ to pay for a single phone flash..
If anyone knows any other program that will copy and write PRL's on droids, if you do I would be happy to post the new 42100 prl for everyone, as well as any other files from cricket android that would be of interest.
p.s. after you program with *22804 you can start using just the base *228 without a problem.. if you try just the 228 first it will just try to activate on verizon instead of cricket
p.s.s. I really hope this is the correct place to post this and its not breaking rules, I have not seen this easiest way of doing this posted anywhere yet, so I just thought I would try and share
Please tell me that this is not serious?
If you activate the ESN to your account and dial *22804 or *22809 in some markets, it will download the prl file and program the MDN, MIN, and SID.
This is way old stuff and does not work in many markets, as it does not here in Houston, TX.
Thanks for trying to be helpful. I didn't mean to clip yo nuts.

Send MMS with LG Optimus 7

How did I solve MMS problem!
Once in the MFG Menu...
1. Click 7 for Engineer Settings.
2. Then click 6 for Other Settings.
3. Select Set ADC (auto data configuration);
4. Set Enable;
5. Shut down, change SIM card and restart;
6. Reinsert your SIM card and restart;
7. In Setting/Celular/ Data Conection ON
8. Send MMS!
Let me know if this help
This really works. When I installed the Open EU firmware, everything was automatically working after the first reboot, including the MMS
nope...doesnt help me at all
This works for the majority of American and European carriers. However, if your service provider does not support ADC, then you are out of luck.
Hi,
did you try this app from lg store?
(Network Setup.xap)
I run this one in my phone and voilá, MMS is enabled.

LG E900 Optimus 7 (Maximo 7 in Portugal)
I have an unlocked E900 (bought SIM free) with an Orange UK SIM card - tried the MFG method, no dice. Installed the App from the LG section of Marketplace (after changing ADC back to disabled), MMS worked straight away - thanks to Marcus for the pointer.
Neither option has worked for me (T-Mo USA network), though I didn't remove my SIM, restart phone, shut down, and re-insert the SIM again. Is this necessary?
Hi,
The above method stated by the original poster did not work for me but the following method did:
( I have my sim card in for this)
1) enter the MFG app (dial ##634#)
2) Input the password 277634#*# and press enter
3) Choose No. 7 engineer menu
4) in the engineer sub-menu choose other setting.
5) Choose Set Network Profiles
Let the list populate
6) Scroll down the list and find your appropriate carrier and select the appropriate xml, so for me in the UK:
on Vodafone it was: _PROV_VDF_UK234_15_ENG.xml
7) Exit the mfg app, restart phone
8) confirm that data connection is active in settings>mobile network
That's what fixed MMS for me, hope this helps.
I tried all of the methods listed in this post, but nothing worked for me with my LG Optimus 7 on the T-Mobile USA network. Specifically, none of the included profiles were remotely close to what I needed.
Anyhow, finally Laquox helped me work it out in this thread -- and now I'm up and running with proper MMS support. Nice
Help
I tried all the above no joy.
I checked the config on the phone which was branded to Orange but unlocked to Tesco and I notice I have 2 entrys for MMS One O2 one Orange any ideas.

You need to add the proper network profile. Follow the steps posted by Tatteltale, until you get to step 5.

Thanks for the reply
But when I check for the list it doesn't populate a list at all.
Also when I check the registry I notice I have O2 and Orange listed as MMS providers.
I was thinking the only way to aviod this is to install a EU unbranded Rom.
Any ideas?

Just wanted to say thank you for everything my MMS now works.

it Works well !

When I try to access the "set network profiles" menu, as it populates the list, the system seems to crash and bring me back to the applist on the home screen.
Is this as a result of mango update? It was working only a couple of months ago, weird.
Any ideas?

I had your same problem. So I just uninstalled the app, then reinstalled it by the original procedure, and then I could access the "set network profiles" menu again. Finally I was able to set my profile, I thought it only listed the network profiles for the operator in the countries where WP7 are sold but it listed most oi not ALL operators. It listed all the operators in my country.

[GUIDE] Flash Sprint Moto X to Page Plus

Hello all! I recently won a Sprint Moto X on eBay for the shockingly low price of $130, and I decided to attempt to flash it to Page Plus. So, in order, that others may benefit from this awesomeness, I decided to post a basic guide. One thing to note is that, if you have flashed Sprint phones to Page Plus before, the process is very similar.
DISCLAIMER: This guide comes with no guarantees of any kind. If you lose personal data or service, brick your phone, or lose your arm to gangrene, I am not responsible.
Stuff You Need
A PC running Windows
Motorola Drivers (download here)
SPCUtility APK (download here)
DFS (download here)
QPST (download here)
Page Plus PRL (attached)
10.key file (attached)
Stock, rooted Moto X 4.4.2 firmware (you can try an older version, but I've only tested on this)
How to Do It
First, if you don't have one, get a Page Plus phone number and account. You'll need it for manually programming.
If you have trouble getting Page Plus to accept your ESN (which is the MEID you'll find in Settings > About Phone > Status), try live chat until someone is okay with activating a 4G phone. They will probably warn you that they offer no support for programming 4G phones.
Make sure to Live Chat with Page Plus and ask for your MDN, MIN, and SID. Most likely, your MDN and MIN will be your phone number.
Once everything on Page Plus' end is set up, dial ##DIAG# on your phone. In the screen that appears, click the overflow button and choose Edit. Then set Diag Port to Enable.
Now install the Motorola drivers so you can connect your phone to your PC. This is sometimes a tricky process, and I don't know why. Google is your friend if you have trouble. When successful, you will see this in Device Manager.
Before attempting to program, you need your MSL. Install the SPCUtility APK and use it to get your MSL.
If you haven't already, install DFS. Open the program and click the Ports button in the upper-left corner. Then double-click the Motorola QC Diag Port to select it. (If you don't see this port, the drivers are not properly set up.) Close the Ports window.
Enter your MSL in the SPC box under the Ports button. Then click the SPC send arrow. Your log window should show DEVICE UNLOCKED. (If the log window is not visible, click the Log button in the upper-right.)
(Optional) In the General tab, click Read in the SPC box. Then replace the SPC string with 000000 and click Write. This sets your MSL to all-zeroes, useful for future programming.
In the General tab, click Read in the Config box. It may already read NV_ONLY. If it does not, set it and click Write.
Go under the NAM tab and click Read at the bottom. The fields will populate with your phone's current programming. Now replace the numbers in both MIN A and MIN D fields with your MIN. Fill the MDN and PCS fields with your MDN. Finally, in the Home box, fill in your SID and click Write.
In the PRL box, click Load and select the Page Plus PRL you downloaded. Click Write.
At this point, you may click Reset and your phone should have talk/text. Try taking and sending one of each to verify that everything has gone right so far.
Now go back to DFS and send your SPC again to get back to work. In the Data tab, click Read, and then fill out all of the UID fields and the HDR AN NAI field with [email protected] (the X's being your phone number). In the PPP SIP NAI, use [email protected]. Put "vzw" (sans quotes) in all of the password fields, and make sure the authentication box is checked. Click Write.
Go to the Mobile IP tab and click Read. At this point, I admit that I do not know 100% what I am doing, but that these settings worked for me. Basically, make your settings look like these ones, but input your number where I scribbled out my own. Also, for everything in the Selected Profile Settings box, put it in both the first and second profile selections. After filling each of those out, click Write current profile settings. Then click Write in the left box.
At this point, reset your phone. You might have working 1X after a minute. Irrelevant, because we're about to go for 3G. Close DFS.
Open QPST Configuration (install it if you haven't). Click Add New Port... and select the only available port. Click Okay, then go to Start Client > EFS Explorer. Select your phone and enter your MSL. It will take a minute to read the phone's EFS data.
Once the EFS data is loaded, right click the root directory and click New > Directory. Name the new folder DMU.
Inside the DMU folder, click File > Open and select the 10.key file you downloaded. Verify the target path is /DMU/10.key.
When the file is copied successfully, click Phone > Reset Phone. When the phone reboots, wait a minute or two. You should have 3G!
3G speed test results here
MMS Fix
Download and install 8sms from the Play Store or their website.
If you're using KitKat, be sure to set the new app as your default SMS app.
In the app, go to Settings > MMS Settings.
Now set the following:
MMS Network: Sprint
MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms?X-VZW-MDN=XXXXXXXXXX (the X's being your phone number)
MMS Proxy: leave blank
MMS Port: 8080 (if that doesn't work, try 80)
MMS over WiFi: Off
Volia! You should have working MMS.
Now, I freely admit that there are numerous places to go wrong here, but this is what worked perfectly for me. If you have trouble, tell me and I'll try to help. Also, check out this thread for general flashing reference. Viper is an expert at these kinds of projects.
Happy flashing!

Flashing between major, independent carriers is illegal. Legally we can only flash between MNVOs.

It wants your MSL/SPC code. Look for the app called SPCUtility.apk in the OP.
I downloaded it from an XDA page by the guy who developed it but I no longer have the URL and don't recall his handle.
It will tell you your subsidy unlock code, at least it did for me on my Moto X and for several other folks with other Android phones.

Windows Phone 8.1 MMS APN Settings Toggle

Update: Now that we found a solution, I am updating this post with the instructions instead of leaving the solution further down in the thread.
Solution:
On Verizon (and possibly others), the ability to edit MMS APN settings is hidden. Thanks to the help of @RustyGrom and @AlvinPhilemon I was able to leverage the HOWTO: Install Windows 10 for Phones on Non-supported devices (and other hacks) method and a modified WPFlights.xml to unhide the settings. This allows Verizon Windows Phones to run fully and properly on other GSM carriers networks (AT&T in my case)
I was not able to get this to work on Windows 10 TP, as there seems to be a few bugs in the way the APN's are functioning at the moment. Use this method if you want to enable MMS APN access in Windows Phone 8.1 (and most likely 8 as well).
Instructions:
1. Follow instructions from the thread created by @RustyGrom, however replace the WPFlights.xml file with the file attached to this post
2. If you are having problems downloading the certificate, install the full version of Fiddler and make sure to enable HTTPS
3. At the very bottom of the Windows Insider app, you should now have an option to "Unhide MMS APN" instead of "Enable Tethering" like in the original method. Click on the "Unhide MMS APN" and go through the instructions. Once you set it and restart the phone, you should see MMS APN
Warning: This could brick your phone, so use it at your own risk. I make no warranties on the method and am not responsible if it goes wrong

Hey guys, apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but given the registry tweaks/hacks that you have all discovered I was hoping you might be able to help me out. I have a Lumia Icon (930 for Verizon in the US) and there is a setting in the registry to hide the MMS APN, meaning I can't get MMS to work properly on other networks (AT&T in my case). It should be as simple as changing to a 0 or 1 in the registry, but I can't seem to find the location toggle (though I was able to find the XML in the ROM that sets the setting a few months back - same one that shows whether things like ##3282# or ##778# works from the dialer). You used to be able to use Access Point to set the APN, but now that it doesn't work on 8.1 there is no workaround.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need me to try to dive into the phone registry / settings with the webserver I am more than happy to, as that is how I originally found XML that specifies it should be hidden.
Thanks

It is:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Cellular\MVSettings\IMSISpecific\Default\CellUX]
"HideMMSAPN"="dword:00000000"
That's what it is on my Verizon HTC One M8 for Windows. It should be the same on yours.

Thanks, appears to be there on my Lumia 1520 (AT&T, which was hidden in W10) and should be there on the Icon. I am going to have to find a way to write to it now, since the Icon doesn't have an SD card slot. I wonder if its possible to use the Windows Insider App

Ok, I was able to get it to work using a modified version of the Windows 10TP for non-supported devices work-around. I edited the WPFlights.xml file to replace the "enable tethering" with "Unhide MMS APN". I am now up and running with on AT&T with my Lumia Icon (also tested/working on HTC One M8 for Windows from Verizon).
If you want to do this on your phone, basically follow the instructions here HOWTO: Install Windows 10 for Phones on Non-supported devices (and other hacks) but replace the WPFlights.xml with the one I have attached. One heads up, I had to install the full version of Fiddler and enable HTTPS before I could install the certificate

Yes, works perfectly. Basically turned the Icon into the 930. MMS group and picture messaging has no problems, and internet seems to be consistent, though only H/H+ at the moment because I don't live in an area w/ AT&T AWS LTE. Here are the APN settings I used: Programming non-AT&T devices with the correct APN and MMS data settings
On an unrelated note. Does anyone know where the registry keys for dialstrings are found? I'd like to try to re-enable Field Test Mode (##3282# on my 1520) to see if there are any hidden cellular bands available to be re-enabled (1520 actually does have 1700 Mhz AWS for H+, it just needs to be re-enabled in Field Test Mode settings)

Ohhhh so you aren't using the Icon on Verizon. When I tried my Icon with the W10 TP, my data would work until I tried to send a picture message. Then the picture message would fail and my data would stop working. I am having problems with my 1520 as well with MMS and Data, and it appears that other people in the other thread are having problems as well. I think its just buggy at this point, and I know there is something weird going on with APN's because I wasn't able to unhide the MMS APN in Windows 10, had to roll back to 8.1 to do it. Basically none of my registry edits were working as expected. The MMS APN even was hidden on the 1520 after it was showing in 8.1

Looks like we will just have to wait. It'll only be a month and then pretty much every other phone will be supported. We'll not only gain support, but probably a ton of changes and bugfixes along with it. I'm just so eager.

The registry entry for DialStrings are as follows:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Phone\Settings]
"PartnerImmediateDialStrings"
"PartnerNonImmediateDialStrings"
The CustomPFD is unable to read MultiStrings so it cannot be read, and WebServer NativeAccess is unable to reach this entry so you need to find other means of cracking this.
i followed all instructions and now have windows 10 TP ready for download, but cannot find the toggle to unhide MMS APN, and when I open the Insider app all it shows is the enroll Insider fast branch, which Ive already installed. I also used your modified file in place of the original. Help?
HTC One M8 Verizon factory unlocked running 8.1
still working?
Is this method still working or is there a new method I tried it but I just get a connection error in insider app telling me to check my time. :\
I tried this a few times, and am able to install the certificate, but don't see the option in Windows Insider, any other tips?
also, would someone please provide a print screen of the enable MMS APN? I can't seem to find where the option should show up
thanks!

Sorry for being an idiot. I'm coming back to Windows phone after years on Android. I am familiar with rooting/flashing on Android. Guess I'm a win mobile noob now.
In the thread we are supposed to refer to: HOWTO: Install Windows 10 for Phones on Non-supported devices (and other hacks)
Since I don't want to go to WM10...
Can someone summarize for a noob which exact steps I should follow to perform this procedure without upgrading to WM10?
