[Q] Wildfire OverClocking - Wildfire General

Hi guys,
Today I heard about over-clocking for wildfire that can increase the performance of the CPU. Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks

Using SetCPU maybe? I;m not sure if it's on the market, I got it elsewhere. But I think you might need root access for that to work ;-)

you will need a kernel that have possibility to overclock. it will soon be here

do Puzzle rom support overclock ?

Check it out guys Good News for you

Yep, Im currently running on an overclocked Wildfire, with wildpuzzle ROM and the OC kernel from there. Awesome!

Which Version of WPR you have ? with the OC Kernel ? ^^

V 8.08 or whatever it is supports overclocking now

which means only rooted wildfire can be OC ? Haiz.. sad case.. 2.2 still cant root yet..

Hi there,
I'm now running the latest stable cyanogenmod 7.0.2, which also includes an OC-able kernel.
Linpack scores up to 5200!
Unfortunately you cannot install this yet if you upgraded your wildfire to android 2.2, there is no software rooting mechanism just yet. There is a hardware solution though, see the top 2 links in this thread for more info on that. (haven't tried these myself)
Hope this helps!

skype
Could you give me some highlights about how the skype's voice sounds with an overlocked wildfire? Has any glitches?

My buzz is overclock to 749 mhz but Skype dont work certo food

Very good not certo food excuse me

[Q] Overclock and OpenGL

Hey everyone was just wondering if anyone did the OpenGL ES 1.1 update to their Tattoo...that was done with the HTC Hero because I was reading a previous thread when installing the new Music Player 3..that I could install this update so that the UI and other elements on the phone relating to graphics would work better...so I just want to know if anyone did it..
Next..
I want to know what speed can I overclock my processor to..I am currently running it at 652 MHz..I am wondering if it can go higher..
I am running Cyanogen mod 7
Thanks for your help in advance

Easiest way to overclock

What is the easiest way to overclock, I know that a different kernel is needed to overclock, but does overclocking require a completely new ROM
Thank You!
You only need a new kernel if you're running stock froyo.
There's a lot of apps on the market that offer overclocking (SetCPU is a nice one)
Easiest way to overclock is choosing cm7. No extra apps or kernels needed. It has inbuilt oc kernel and options for setting CPU frequency. And greater stability at higher clocks too.

Sorry to be a pain; do you have an idea of which kernel I should use?
Some other user might give better info, since I'm not using an HTC Sense based rom/stock.

Fastest rom to overclock with?

Hey,
I see a lot of people using CM7 is this really the best one?
Also till how many mhz I can overclock on that one?
Yes Cm7 IS really great, in fact you can customize almost everything, and I really like that feature...
As for overclocking you can overclock I think to max of 768mhz(if I'm wrong somebody please correct me)...maybe you can a little bit more but I think it is kernel related...
Hope it helps,
Best regards

Irrespective of which ROM you choose, it is the kernel which allows (or disallows) you from Overclocking. Till date, there are 2 primary kernels which are available - HCDR.Kernel by Jacob and nFinity by arco, and both OC support upto 768MHz. (I think Deep-Knight has recently developed a new kernel for his ROM, which allows OC upto 600MHz)
Because of this, you can overclock your stock ROM also, if you so wish, by simply flashing a custom kernel.

Hi!
Which kernels can I use for original rom, if I want to overclock? HCDR, or Deep, or what? It will make the phone instable, or not?
Thank You!

You can use any. nFinity MC4 offers more features though, like Smartass Governor. It can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995301
Else, you can use HCDR Kernel also, if you wish, and decide for yourself which suits you:

It shouldn't make the phone unstable at all. But, in any case, make a Nandroid Backup beforehand.
Thank You
Well M using hell fire .. Cm7 based ....
Which is stable till 729 Mhz overclock m using max 729 and min 490 (I guess)
Phone is Much faster than before and love playing angry birds
I read all the 2 posts, but Im not sure to change the original slow kernel, for a faster. All have some bugs, battery life, wifi, etc...
I dont know, which could be better for the stock rom, or which could be better than the original.
Anyway, I want to try one of that, but I dont know which.
How can I flash just the kernel? And also back up my programs with titanium, or mybackup?
It clears everything like the rom flashing?
Ok, I made it, its cool, and faster. Thanks for the help.
is the overclocking "app" in standard cm7? Or i must go to market or anything else to download it?

AnTuTu Score of Stock Kernel Users ONLY!!

Hey guys!! all those who can't unlock their bootloader and can't get the most from your phone, here's a thread to share your pain and compare your antutu score with the people of your line ( like me )
Edit :- SD card score will not be considered as it differs acc to class.
Here's mine. I know its low but want to see what's the highest score on STOCK KERNEL and let's share what all tweaks we did with our rom.
* Rom - PrimeHD v6.0
* Tweaked to increase 2D and 3D score.
Here's my score before unlocking of course
1796
LinuXperia v7
Stock kernal
Now no pain
i hope u manage to unlock it

bro!! dont u use any tweaks or ram manager or something like that. If yes, please do mention, in the end we would b able to see which rom provides highest score
Froyopro v.2.4
stock kernel
CPU ondemand governor
no special tweaks
Tried PrimeHD before, but Froyopro gave better results.

Bro, there is a post above which has higher score. So what u think, want to give a try to it or u feel this to b a perfect rom?
I'm not glad to find that cose I like to experiment with new ones, but it seems that old froyo works better on stock kernel.
Edit: one thing I dont like about froyo is partitioning sd card
You shouldn't include the SD card when doing a benchmark test as everyone has different cards.

Primehd 6.0 for stock kernel without overclock. I think its preaty good....
Edit:I am not sure if the attachment Is all right because i am using xda premium .I will try again later. The score is 1642.
Well this is my personal rom. Hopefully I will get permissions soon to release it. But anyways this is a constant score I get with many apps installed and running. Stock kernel, overclocked at 768.

Overclock NexusHD2 JellyBean CM10.1

hi guys, i'm currently using NexusHD2 JellyBean rom. it can be overclocked up to 1.2ghz, but i saw on internet that with CM7 hd2 can be overclocked up to 1.5... i would overclock NexusHD2 JellyBean CM10.1 to 1.5ghz.. but i don't know how to... sorry for bad english
You need a kernel that supports overclocking to such frequency. I didn't overclock my HD2, and most times I used the kernel that came with the ROM and didn't bother to change.
Use the sticky in the NAND development section to look through kernels, and flash the one that has overclocking and works on your ROM.
Edit:
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322639 I think this should work for you, follow the instructions and, as always, make a back up. (Though if something ever happens, you'd just have to flash the stock kernel back but I'm telling you to back up to disclaim myself anything should happen to your device.)

Apparently not, lol. I don't think it's possible then. That's the only kernel I knew which supported 1.5 GHz. Try and search for yourself, you may find.

should I keep jelly beans on 1.2ghz, or should I install ICS on 1.6ghz?
I can't really tell you, because it depends solely on you.
Why not try both? You've tried JB on 1.2, backup and flash ICS with 1.6 and use it for a few days. See which one works best and use it. Good luck.

well, in jellybean or ics, i think overclocking more than 1.2 ghz is very risky. rom developers remove this option aswell as kernel developers, because in those builds it may brick your phone

May I know why/how?
@Marvlesz well, i'm not sure about what i said
but after gb, i've never seen an ics+ (or jb) build that has overclocking more than 1.2 ghz. gb used to have 1.6ghz AFAIR, but newer build are all 1.2 ghz and maximum. maybe it's related to HWA or such stuff
Edit: i just saw you posted about trying ICS with 1.6 , so nevermind about what i said
