Something wrong with my battery? - Galaxy S I9000 General

Twice this has happend. Phone was at around 70% battery. Then I rebooted the phone and battery dropped to 8% after reboot. Battery can't be consumed so fast as the phone was only brought off the charger at 8am. And it's 8% at 12noon with minimum usage.
Anyone experience the same?
Update: I rebooted phone again and battery went up to 25%.
Update2: Battery has stayed at 25% for the past 2 hours after the reboot. But when I looked at the phone again just now, battery went up to 42%! Gosh...what is happening?

Didnt have the problem till yesterday. Darn shocked I say!
I faintly remember there is a thread here on how to reset your battery if encounter this problem.
Hate myself for not bookmarking it earlier!

Have you ever flashed your phone with odin? If yes, the barrery stats may be messed up... This may happen if you flash your phone with less than 100% battery!
Here's a way to correct this failure that worked for me:

battery drains.. sort of

Does anybody know sone work around regarding this? Because its starting to annoy me, have you ever experienced when you are using your device, the battery warning suddenly pops up and says that you must charge already and the battery percentage suddenly changes to 3% eventhough awhile ago there is still 50% left, but when you reboot it chages back to 50%, what could be a possible culprit, this happens a few times to me a day and im tired of rebooting everytimethe warning pos up.
Any advice is appreaciated
Same experience. I posted this a while ago but no solution.

well this isnt an acutal solution but have you tried actually draining your battery down to 3% recently? By doing that you are "calibrating" the battery life sensor and maybe that will cause this issue to occur less frequently?
This happened to me once so I did that and havent had a problem since. Hopefully it works for you!
but how do you power it on if thinks the battery is critical
Somehow if ido a reboot it just goes back to normal..maybesomething is messing up with the battery sensors,i did let it drain but some how it still the same, i had read on a similar thread about a bump charge or something maybe i could try that and lets see from there
on verizon tab SCH-I800 - does the same thing ... mine seems to happen around 33% though. (i thought it was something with the 33% .. since it would drop down to 3%) ..
i think samsung should really push out an update to address some of the glitches in these tabs..
Tried the recalibration thing. Problem still exists.

thats a similar issue i get,. Yes i tried the recalibration charge also and still having the problem, i did a factory reset also and it did nothing.. Im really desperate for some fixes..
Mine jumps from 15% to 3%. Quite annoying, I assumed that it is because it is poorly calibrated and so it doesn't realise its actually critical until its 15%.
I tried calibrating it by running it until it switches off, and then fully charging. However, that didn't work.
If in reality the battery is at 15%, then its a pretty bad software bug.
Maybe deleting the battery stats solves the problem?
I think its getting worse on mine now after a full charge after i remoce the charge around 2min. It says 3% again what the heck?

Tried flashing with another rom but no help. Start to wonder if this is hardware related....

try to flash it with rotohammer rom JHA/JMC it might fix the issue. My problem with GT was battery draining too quickly but after flashing it's much better now.

This worked for me too, however I had to do it 2 or 3 times. I haven't had any problems since.
I think i sorted it out also by calibrating battery,i removed the battery stats using the root explorer, now im still observing the progress

I also have a sprint tab and it is three months old. I have not put another rom on it, only rooted it. It also has developed this battery problem recently. It will go from 53 to 3 all of the sudden.

Not too sure what's the issue but it does sound like a program consuming too much CPU or the battery calibration issue.

Nexus 7 dying at 25% battery

Without fail my Nexus 7 seems to die around 25% battery. Strangely, this only happened after I unlocked/rooted it, but now it happens every time. I even charged to full, used CWM to wipe battery stats and let it run down from there, still no dice.
Safe to say I should get a replacement?
No? I'd be surprised if I'm the only one having this problem... Seems like the Nexus 7's hardware issues are pretty widespread.
I must admit, when it died, I dont know what % the battery was at.

Since youve rooted it, your warranty may be void, assuming that it wont be have you tried a custom rom? as daft as it sounds i had this issue on my old HTC desire, but a custom rom did fix this.
I havent had any issues at all with my nexus 7, my nexus was down to 8% last night when i plugged it in to charge before bed.
Aslo i wouldnt assume there are "wide spread" issues with the nexus7, for every device ever made there are always numerous threads about faults and the odd pixel being missing, people like to come onto the internet to broadcast there views when they feel they have been slighted or wronged in someway, if there was any "widespread issues with the nexus" (such as apples antenagate issue with the iphone 4) then it would be everywhere over ever tech blog.
Jjust reflash a different Rom
》》》Samsung Galaxy S3《《《
Been down as low as 2% before relenting and letting the poor thing power up. Rooted and on jr5.
Thanks for the feedback all, perhaps I'll try un-rooting it while at 100% battery and see if it fully discharges. Perhaps it's just sensitive about the battery capacity when it changes ROMs/Bootloader status.
My Nexus 7 is doing the same thing at 20%. What happened to yours?
Have you tried a factory reset? That's fixed similar problems on other devices.
Factory reset yes, but not at 100% charge.
Mine dies at/or around 30% - I'm stock+not rooted.
Factory reset it. It doesn't matter what the charge percentage is. I did it to mine and it's working fine

I tried this and it didn't work for me. The only thing that did was a factory reset by flashing the stock image through the root manager tool.
A user named NeoMagus has received two units with this issue, but I haven't seen many people mention it otherwise.

I'm new to tablets but I returned a Fire with the same problem. I assume it's a freak battery thing and not something innate to this device.
Yup my first C6 and last C7 also had this problem. Charged/Decharged fine for about a week, then just started turning off at about 19-20%. The screen would also display in very small text "show low low battery logo". Re-flashing stock, wiping, calibrating by deleting batterystats.bin, nothing helped, always died at 20%. Just ended up exchanging both so don't know what to tell you guys, everyone else seems to be fine so my only conclusion is bunk battery

Flash back stock ROM, lock boot loader and see if it fix. At this point, you got back your warranty and can ask for replacement

I have the same issue on mine, which is stock/unrooted. I just did a factory reset and it's been okay so far, but it's a little early to tell if it really worked.
**UPDATE** - Doing a factory reset did not fix the issue. It died again after some more use. I'm going to return it to Google.
**UPDATE 2** - After connecting the device to the charger and powering it on again it reported 0% battery. I charged it back up to 100% and I've currently run it back down to 7%. I'm not sure how or why it's working now, but it does seem to be a problem with the software misreporting the remaining battery life.
Mine shut down at 9% last night. Not that bad but not ideal I think it should go to 2-4% or 'go down with the ship' at 0% like my phone does.
Oh well I'm going to get a replacement after my next trip due to audio and touchscreen issues, I've been putting it off in hopes that they iron it out but I can't wait much longer a dead left headphone and random zooming when I scroll is a drag.
Same here ,last week my N7 died at 15% battery
but now at 20% ..
no Low battery Logo show
Should i do Factory Reset ???

Just wanted to know if anyone else has problems with their Nexus 4 since the latest update?
So far, within 24 hours I have had to charge my phone twice fully.

mine today started to get really hot.... it froze
upon reboot, it lost like 30% battery...
froze again in landscape mode
after a few reboots it continue to run super hot... like 65*
battery is draining even faster than what Ingress. uses
still occurs in safe mode
is the hardware going bad? i saw a few other folks having this also happen in the last week without ant solutions

i have had my current setup since i got the phone.. AOKP, Franco Kernel, undervolted -25mv, with like 215 total apps.... decent battery like, usually about 3 hrs SOT...
but yesterday was among weird to say the least.... Franco monitor will show my CPU was up to 170* at one point... but yet, my CPU usage on my monitor was with core 0-1 being less than half throtle while core 2-3 were offline... so i thought it was weird that my CPU would be so hot, yet not ON....it was so hot the phone would shutdown as soon as it got booted...
then my battery was not hot, but draining incredibly fast.... like from 88% to 19% in less than 2 hrs....
my battery usage pretty much displayed that it was the Screen consuming most of my battery.... i didnt notice GS being a problem, but im sure i would have noticed if it was
So far, i went ahead and factory reset, formatted /system /cache /data and dalvik... installed my rom again fresh.... its not acting up yet.... but for some reason i cant shake the fact its using battery much faster... i went earlier in my break from 94% to 87% in less than 10 minutes... thats not normal..maybe its just me..
so tonight i am going to reformat everything a couple times, install all fresh and see what happens before i restore everything back in the phone.

I'm with the same problem you're with. I did format everything, and the problem persists, can't really find the culprit on this.
I'm using PA 3.99 + FK, but I've tried with stock and cm, with stock kernels also.
Please let us know if you did solve the problem, and how did it, because this is becoming difficult to manage the use of this phone for me, having to carry the charger everywhere I go.

So battery life has been horrendous. It dies much faster and takes long to charge. My car charger no longer charges the phone... yet my Gnex and N7 FHD charges on that charger fine....
Qi charging works fine too (thats next to my bed)
So i called assurant, which sent me to Tmo, which sent me to Google (got it at play store) and they are sending me a new unit, since this one will be covered until manufacturer warranty for malfunction, not physical damage
Im sorry i will not have a resolution, i will revert back to stock and re lock it before i sent it back.... Hopefully i get a good one and not one with issues...

Odd battery problems

Hello,
My N4's battery has been behaving really weird over the past days. My phone completely fails to predict the battery's current charge and it often would shut off at for example 40%. When I reboot it's at 0% charge and shuts down again. The battery at that point is 'completely' empty. Which means that even date and time have been reset!
You can see the sudden battery drop here:
Stats (after few minutes on charger):
The weird thing is, that although the screenshot says 4h runtime on battery, it was running more like 8 hours at that time.
The screen time is also calculated completely wrong. It should be more like 2 hours, but it says 43 minutes:
Besides that, it happens often, that I unplug it after a night of charging and while it says 100% while still plugged in, once I remove the cable it drops to ~90%, sometimes even lower.
This was today morning after a night of charging (same day as screenshots above). Mind, that I had to replug it to achieve 98%, after I first removed it before showering it was at 91%.
I'm running Franco Kernel and Mahdi ROM. Though the problem exists on other kernels and roms as well.
Should I revert to stock and completely whipe everything? The only thing I restored from Titanium Backup during Rom switches are user apps and wifi networks. So I wouldn't consider it dirty flashing, right?
I hope the battery itself isn't damaged, since I get a maximum of 2 hours OST, where a week ago I would get around 3,5h-4h..
Thanks for your input.
Edit: Forgot to say, that another problem is, when using the wall-charger, it would tell me after 20 minutes charging from 0% battery that it's at 100%, while after a reboot it again shows only 20-30%.

Thanks. As it has shut down again after about 3h on battery (1h of usage) I've noticed a relatively big buldge on the back of the phone. I think the battery somehow popped
I have absolutely no idea how that happened. Will write to the LG support now.

Question about battery problem

So here's the thing, I've been flashing ROM countless time and got to the point where I stuck for one ROM (in a good way). But whenever I charged my phone while turned off to a 100%, when I turned it back on the battery is not 100%, more precisely 87%. Do you think it's the battery itself, the OS, or the entire hardware?
Thanks.
