Proximity sensor..prob during call - XPERIA X10 General

Hi guys..the above prob does not happen when during the call i use the slide dialpad..at that time screen gets locked!!
Is any settings that i have to change?

It keeps your face from inadvertently pressing the cancel/end call button. To unlock screen during call, double tap screen.

But when i dont use the slide dialpad the proximity sensor doesnt work..thats the problem..

Check the Android Dev section of this forum you might find some answers there... or...
Try flashing your phone again.
I'm not an expert so that's all I can tell you. Maybe others have better solutions.

I read other threads too..some guy is doing some kind of a experimnt..
Can u confirm if u r facing the same issue or not?

Got a task killer? If so, remove it and see what it does. Had something similar happen.

First step is to see if your proximity sensor works at all...
Go to the lock screen and press:
Menu Back Menu Back Back Menu Back Menu Menu Back
Find the proximity sensor test and press your finger against the phone just above the screen.

No it does not wrk..if m on call n want to see any contact then wat exactly i shud do?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Press the home button. Then the phone call continues but it will be in the notification bar and it will show your home screen.
If this doesn't work for you then it's really too bad as it's the only way.

I cannot leave the call screen on rooted 24. Pressing menu either does nothing or disconnects the call.
And what is the deal with the screen living? It is just seconds.
On a call related issue, anyone else ever get the phone ring but no way to answer it? It has done this since new, on 16 fw so I know its nothing I've done lol fairly certain it is not a hardware fault as I know others with the same issue around here.
Swyped from my rooted X10i using XDA.
Sorry should have said screen locking, not screen living lol

push back button (arrow) and screen will come on. unlock, then if you want to see your contact list, click menu botton (4 Sqaure), add call.
Thanks all..but still no solutions..
The only useful button is the centre button (single square) it took me to the home screen with call showing at the notification bar..but when i clicked on dialer again it come back to the ongoing call..will try certain things after my office n share

I think it will work by pressing the home key for few seconds.

I got the solution..
During call just press centre button (single square) and then to find the contact click Phonebook NOT the dialer..

If you're wanting to conference or make another call in the middle of a call, press left button. Bunch of options will show up. If you wanna do other things like surf, check MMS, emails, or play games, download apps, etc, press middle button. I do this all the time. FYI, mine is still build ***024 (if that makes any difference).
yes! my phone also can't do this!
Check my previous post..n then lemme know the problem

[Q]Unlock only with powerbutton

My phone still unlocks at the worst moments ever.. Could someone write an unlock program that lets you use one key. Because my pants is calling people behind my back ;p
Why not just set a lock pattern under security options

because after five or more "tries" and when you are walking the phone moves in your pants, the pattern is locked for five minutes, not really what I need when I have to call someone immediatly
Try Widget Locker in the market.
thanks +1 I"ll try

Same thing happens to me also, widget locker somewhat fixed it. It still does it but not very often

You can try this build http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823471
When in standby, you can only wake the phone up by pressing the power button or the "accept calls" button.
The middle two buttons are locked and won't wake up the phone.
At least that's what I found in my phone anyway.

How to disable the camera button?

For about a week or so now, My camera keeps popping up, and taking pictures without me knowing, or when I'm in the middle of something when the screen is on. I've look at countless threads on other phones and it seems to be successful for others, But I'm guessing this device isn't similar. Anyone have any clue on how to disable the camera button on the side?
I'm on 4.2 and sometimes my pocket can unlock trigger the camera from the lock screen. If that's the case, there's lock screen policy in the market.
Theres also button remapper somewhere on xda to disable the camera button. Can't search since I don't have my computer with me.

Thanks for the heads-up on lock screen policy. I always hated pulling out my phone to see the camera was on.

[Q] Disable keylights on PAC

Hey just signed up with my new email and I am unable to post of the PAC forum yet. so i figured i would get some help here. Anybody have any idea how to disable the back and menu key backlight. I hate the lights coming on even for just a second, its a unnessecary (but small) battery drain, and i really like how flat and black my phone looks and would rather not have those buttons show.
You may disable key light as it. Setting/my device/display /touch key light duration /always off. If I helped. Press the thanks button.

Thank you but i think that is how to disable to lights on the stock rom. I am using the 9/4 nightly of the PAC rom. the setting is not under display and lights.
It used to be under advanced settings. that is no longer an option. any ideas?
Use a different launcher like nova, apex or adw, long press the home screen and add shortcut. Add advanced settings. There ya go

Move settings across to the left so you get the screen with PAC settings scroll to 'buttons' down the bottom and you can turn them off in there

no no its not the google, speak and screen shot app its all the apps installed on the phone in one quick menu but you can edit which ones you want on the menu
App Panel
Darkfang, i am guessing you are referring to the app panel. The only way i know for it to show is if it is set to pop up when, ie: dock phone, plug in headphones, usb storage. I never use it and dont know another way to make it pop up. You can find the setting for what i mentioned under settings-->general-->accessory.
