Maybe he copy-pasted from a forum that has one?

I am following 100% tutorial but I am unable to unlock my I9000. Look at the screenshot for the error that I encounter.
I have put the update.zip in root of phone memory, root of MicroSD etc but no chance. Do I need to root the phone or what's the problem?
Thanks

Hi,
I have a NSPRO box and read the unlock code, but as I insert it, it doesn't unlock the phone.
As this didn't work, I tried your method, and the code that showes up is the same as read by NSPRO box, and... it still doesn't work.
Attached is the printscreen of the HEX area where the code is. I've noticed it says "18146D" and not "181460" as your indicated. Could this be the reason why the code doesn't work?
Please help...

Creating apk and obex list.

Things you need:
Windows computer
Android SDK (on the root of your C:\ drive)
A phone running Android (duh)
Your SDcard inseterd into the phone
USB charge/data cable that came with the phone
A few mins of your time
The purpose of this is to show you how to create a text file listing the applications in the '/system/app' directory. This is where the apk and obex(program) files are located. There are so many in there it's nice to have a list so you can pick and choose which ones you want to remove OR move to your SDcard incase you want them later.
When I downloaded the SDK from Androids site I just extracted it and renamed it sdk and placed it in the root of my C: drive. Open a CMD window or terminal and change to 'c:\sdk\tools' directory.
With the phone powered off plug it into the computer with the USB cable. Hold the POWER button + VOL DOWN while the phone turns on. Choose RECOVERY, when it appears, with the VOL DOWN key and tap POWER. Again with VOL DOWN choose 'partition menu' and press in the OPTICAL MOUSE button. Using the VOL DOWN key you want to highlight '-mount /system' and
'-mount /sdcard' using the OPTICAL MOUSE button to choose each one so they should change to '-unmount /system' and '-unmount /sdcard'.
At this point focus your attention back to the terminal or command window that should be sitting at the 'c:\sdk\tools' prompt. Type in 'adb shell' and press enter. Leave off the ' in the command. Once it connects to your phone change directory to the '/system/app' folder by typing this out...
#cd /system/app/ <hit enter>
Now type
#ls > /sdcard/applist.log
That's it! You should now have a log file on your sdcard. It's so much easier than reading the screen and making a quick decision to remove something that might be bugging you now when you MIGHT need it later. Hope this helped someone!
Once the command is finished (it only takes a second or two) unmount the SDcard and /system folder and reboot your phone.

Rooting Kindle Fire 10.2.6
I was able to get my Kindle Fire .v2 rooted. I ran through the process again. This time going back to the beginning.
I wasn't able to get it to run, so I refreshed the files, and ran it again. It took 2 attempts to get the first script to run. I thought it didn't run, so I was searching for a reason why. Then I looked up, and the script had finished. Then it took 3 times for the second part of the script to complete.
After getting the the launcher I wanted installed (APEX failed, so did Novo and a few others) AWD worked, but I was unable to get it to be the default launcher. (the kindle launchers 'default' settings were grayed out.
I then went into /system/app and renamed Launcher.apk to Launcher Default.apk and the com.awd.launcher-1.apk to Launcher.apk.
the system didn't respond when I pressed the home key, so I took a chance and rebooted my kindle.
When it rebooted, I was asked which launcher I wanted to use, so I clicked set as default, and clicked on AWD.
All is good now. Thanks

[Guide]Data Recovery -Internal [Note 2 or Any Android]

Hello here is a guide to Recover Deleted files from internal memory From Any android Phone
You Need
1.Rooted Android phone ( In my case i used Note 2 N7105 )
2.Install busybox ( Note : Install in /system/bin NOT at system/xbin )
3.Drivers Installed on your computer
4.Download The Recovery Tool.rar [ https://www.box.com/s/zw0sfprtlx4dqysd018o ]
5. Download Recuva [ http://www.piriform.com/recuva/download ]. This is the Software going to recover your file , or you can use your favourite Data recovery software . But i suggest Recuva
Steps :
1. Take your rooted phone . Go to Setting->Devoloper Option -> Tick on Stay awake and USB debugging
2.Connect your Phone to the Computer , Let the driver Install .
3.Extract Recovery Tool.rar to c:/ ( You will Find two folder AB and Cygwin )
4.Click Start -> Run ,
Type " CMD " Press Enter
5.Dos Window will open up Now Type " cd c:\ab\ " Press Enter
6. Type " adb devices " Press Enter
** Make sure it returning out Some numbers (IMEI) under list of devices
7.Type " adb Shell mount " Press Enter
Now this is something important , After the command adb shell mount it will give a long List you need to fine "dev/block/mmcblkop"xx" /data(or user data "
Note : The xx can be any number
In N7105 its " mmcblk0p16 " is data Partition .
The last two number (xx) will change from mobile to mobile . Just note the partition name . In my case its " mmcblk0p16 "
8.Close the CMD window . Go to My Computer->C:/->Cygwin->Open Cygwin Terminal
9.Type " export PATH="/cygdrive/c/ab":$PATH " Press Enter
10.Type " adb forward tcp:5555 tcp:5555 " Press Enter
11.Type " adb shell " Press Enter
12.Type " su " Press Enter
13.Grant Superuser Right on your Phone
14.Type " /system/bin/busybox nc -l -p 5555 -e /system/bin/busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p16 " Press Enter
15.Minimize the window , Open another cygwin Terminal i.e. My Computer->C:/->Cygwin->Open Cygwin Terminal
16.Type " export PATH="/cygdrive/c/ab":$PATH " Press Enter
17.Type " adb forward tcp:5555 tcp:5555 " Press Enter
18.Type " cd /aa " Press Enter
19.Type " nc 127.0.0.1 5555 | pv -i 0.5 > mmcblk0p16.raw " Press Enter
20. Now let it Run this will take long time for me it took me One hour to complete
21.After it Compltes Click start->Run Type " cmd " Press Enter
22. Type " cd c:\cygwin\aa\ " Press Enter
23.Type " VhdTool.exe /convert mmcblk0p16.raw " Press Enter
24.Now Close Everything .. Right Click My Comuter->Manage
25.Now Select Storage-->Disk Management.
26.In the menu select Action-->Attach VHD.
27.For Location enter " c:\cygwin\aa\mmcblk0p16.raw " and select the OK button.
28.Right-click on the name (e.g. "Disk 1") to the left of the Unallocated space and select Initialize Disk.
29.Select the GPT (GUID Partition Table) radio button and select the OK button.
30.Right-click on the Unallocated space and select New Simple Volume...
31.In the Wizard select Next>, leave the default for the volume size, select Next>, select a drive letter (e.g. K), select Next>, MAKE SURE to select
the 'Do not format this volume' radio button, select Next>, select Finish.
32.A box will pop up asking you to format the drive. You DO NOT want to format the drive at this time.
33.Right-click on the RAW space and select Format... MAKE SURE to change the File system to FAT32. Set the Allocation unit size dropdown to 'Default.' MAKE SURE that the Perform a quick format checkbox is CHECKED. You do not want to overwrite the entire new drive with all zeroes (0's) and destroy your data. Quick Format means that it will only attempt to destroy the index for the drive by establishing a new index. Without this box checked the Windows operating system will write zeroes (0's) across the entire volume, potentially destroying your data. Select the OK button.
34.A box will pop up saying that Formatting this volume will erase all data on it. That would be doubly true if you actually didn't check the 'Perform a quick format' checkbox. Double check that you actually did check the box and select the OK button.
35.Open the Piriform Recuva application. In the wizard select the 'Next >' button. Select the 'Other' radio button and select Next >. Select the 'In a specific location' radio button and enter: k:\ (assuming K is the drive letter you chose...) Select the Next > button. Select the Enable Deep Scan checkbox.
36.The application may take about an hour to do the 'Deep Scan.'
37.Once the application has returned its results you can choose which files to recover using the checkboxes. Select the 'Recover...' button and choose the location to which you wish to output your files.
No need to Thank me , This is not my work , i just gathered information and some Copy/Paste . Have a nice day
Note : Im not Responsible if you brick your phone . I did this and it worked for me . So im Sharing with you guys .

If you have used external SD Card as the location for saving raw image, this guide would have been less scary
Good guide though :good:
Thanks but since Jelly Bean I have resigned myself to the fact that there is no practical way to recover data from the internal storage (the lack of a recycle bin is one of the very few Android's big flaws) so I keep my data on the 64GB external one. I reserve the internal storage only for whatsapp and viber photo and video, Navigon maps (the whole European set), apps and the few other things which are always kept there (like SMS messages, e-mails, Dropbox offline files etc etc) . Doing so I have less than 3GB free on the internal memory so I would be keeping my data on the external SD card anyway...
Now this is something important , After the command adb shell mount it will give a long List you need to fine "dev/block/mmcblkop"xx" /data(or user data "
Note : The xx can be any number

Data Recovery from a Locked Samsung Note Tablet.
Does the procedure posted by Capt.Nizam work for the tablet with forgotten password? Since it has a password on, the device will not mount on a PC or Mac. And because of Samsung encryption recovery through regular means might not be an option. How can I by pass the password and get into the flash chip to recover the data.
I posted the following on a forum with no response; does anyone have a better solution?
For the past few days I have surfed the web looking for a solution to recover my data from the Samsung Tablet 10.1 Note. I forgot the password I had and cannot loose the data by doing a hard reset/factory reset. There has to be a way to get back into the flash chip and recover data; even if it means physically opening up the tablet and removing the motherboard.
Since the password encrypts the data, the tablet shows up on a pc or mac when connected with a USB cable but shows no data.
Please, is there anyone who knows a way around?
Thank you in advance.

Hi, [email protected], you can try Android Data Recovery. It is a powerful and useful recovery software originally developed to retrieve lost data from Android SD card. All lost data or deleted files, including photos, songs, videos and other data files can be restored as you want.

4.Click Start -> Run ,
Type " CMD " Press Enter
5.Dos Window will open up Now Type " cd c:\ab\ " Press Enter
6. Type " adb devices " Press Enter
** Make sure it returning out Some numbers (IMEI) under list of devices
7.Type " adb Shell mount " Press Enter
Now this is something important , After the command adb shell mount it will give a long List you need to fine "dev/block/mmcblkop"xx" /data(or user data "
Note : The xx can be any number
In N7105 its " mmcblk0p16 " is data Partition .
The last two number (xx) will change from mobile to mobile . Just note the partition name . In my case its " mmcblk0p16 "
8.Close the CMD window . Go to My Computer->C:/->Cygwin->Open Cygwin Terminal
9.Type " export PATH="/cygdrive/c/ab":$PATH " Press Enter
10.Type " adb forward tcp:5555 tcp:5555 " Press Enter
11.Type " adb shell " Press Enter
12.Type " su " Press Enter
13.Grant Superuser Right on your Phone
14.Type " /system/bin/busybox nc -l -p 5555 -e /system/bin/busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p16 " Press Enter
15.Minimize the window , Open another cygwin Terminal i.e. My Computer->C:/->Cygwin->Open Cygwin Terminal
16.Type " export PATH="/cygdrive/c/ab":$PATH " Press Enter
17.Type " adb forward tcp:5555 tcp:5555 " Press Enter
18.Type " cd /aa " Press Enter
19.Type " nc 127.0.0.1 5555 | pv -i 0.5 > mmcblk0p16.raw " Press Enter
20. Now let it Run this will take long time for me it took me One hour to complete
21.After it Compltes Click start->Run Type " cmd " Press Enter
22. Type " cd c:\cygwin\aa\ " Press Enter
23.Type " VhdTool.exe /convert mmcblk0p16.raw " Press Enter
24.Now Close Everything .. Right Click My Comuter->Manage
25.Now Select Storage-->Disk Management.

Unlocking the bootloader on HTC Desire 626 LTE (a32ul_emea)1. First of all make sure that debugging is enabled by USB (USB Debugging). --- Settings> Developer ---> Debugging via USB, and put the phone away, yet he will not be needed.

How I rooted the SM-G360P

I am posting this cause it took hours of trying everyone rooting method. This is the only way I got it
to work.
After reading through a couple more forums I found that it was the Samsung Reactivation
Lock that was blocking me. Upon booting the phone, going into Apps > Setttings > Security
and then typing in my samsung account password I was able to disable the lock
and then Download mode allowed me to root everything successfully and don't forget to turn off verify apps.
Make sure usb debugging is turned on.
Do this by going to setting, about Device,
and clicking on build number seven time.
exit about Device then you should see Developer option to get to USB debugging.
Make sure your battery is Full.
Power off phone.
Hold Home, volume down, and power button down at once until phone vibrate. You
should see a screen that say hold volume down to reboot or volume up to continue
push volume up.
Run odin_3.12.3 as administrator
Select ap
Then selct file G360PVPU2AOH1_G360PSPT2AOH1_G360PVPU2AOH1_HOME.tar
click start.
After restart verify your Software version number is G360PVPU2AOH1.
If it is use kingroot app to root.
After you have root use the mrw guide link or the
supersu-me app to get rid off kingroot su and install super su.
I did the mrw guide.
1)Install terminal emulator.
2)Copy and paste mrw folder onto sdcard and device/phone storage
3)Open terminal emulator and type: su
4)Grant root permission
5)Now type sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh
6)You should now see a new super user app after all said and done.
Make sure your battery is Full.
Power off phone.
Hold Home, volume down, and power button down at once until phone vibrate. You
should see a screen that say hold volume down to reboot or volume up to continue
push volume up.
Run odin_3.12.3 as administrator
Select ap
Then selct file TWRP-2.8.7.0-S820L
click start
You should now a have a new recovery by Power off phone.
Hold Home, volume Up, and power button down at once until phone vibrates.
I have attached all the file needed to do this.
https://www.mediafire.com/?eso4gaiv92v0ggl
Hope this Helps every one.
I also would like to thank all the people who I have found the files from. Without them this wouldn't of been possible.
