Yes, but mine actually works...That version didn't work for Mac. Since both versions require different code and steps to work I thought it would make the most sense to have a separate thread.

Coming soon in the next version I will make the file size a whole lot smaller and add more help information.

Am I suppose to mount the SD? I'm getting this message "strings: can't open file: ./nv_data.bin (No such file or directory)". Help please.
*Nvermind, got it working. Thanks for this easy program.

worked for me
Thanks a lot - worked at the first try for me (code generated on my MAC)
So from now on i can use my CAPTIVATE here in germany with vodafone
Will donate later..

Did you use version 2.0 or 1.0? If it is 2.0 then it would say when you start it up. I am just curious.

help with Android

hello! i have a verizon HTc Touch / vogue.
and i reall want to put android on there, i have an old android where all you can do is text, but these new ones seem awesome ex:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=603028
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577186
but how do i boot these? i used the haret for the android i have working now, but how do i get these ones up and running?
Same way as you did the "old android." Just check to make sure you have the latest basefiles from SourceForge and load up a system.sqsh.
You can also do the partition system if you want to, but thats slightly more complicated. But still easy to get up and running.
hmm so i put all the files i download into the folder where my haret is and then i run haret and i put "system.sqsh" where it says "defualt.txt" and i get a error and it says "keyword: sqsh cannot be found" am i doing this right? sorry im a major NOOB
heres a screenie of what i have in my android folder:
Run the "default.txt" not system.sqsh
i have made some progress it now goes into the CMD and displays some lines of code but then it just sits there and the latest code line says "/bin/sh: can't access tty: job control turned off"

so instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd post here for some help...
I was running an old version of android a while ago then switched to WinMo 6.5.1.. I want to give android another shot because of the improvements, I keep getting an error when running haret though:
mmc0: unrecognised SCR structure version 3
^ loops a bunch of times, then ends with
mmc0: init card failure (err = -22)
before looping "Waiting for SD card"
I've tried putting the files on root of sd card and within android folder, still no dice
can anyone give me a hand?
Thanks!

Arabic Support Update.

Hi to All.
I am new to Driod and this forum as well,
I bought Atrix From BELL.
So far I have flashed the ROM to the New OLYEM_U4_1.4.2 Telstra.
Rooted and Deoxed as well, I even got a Custom theme on it.
In short my story, I tried using the Arabic "Framework.jar" that is posted on one of the Dev-Forum on this site. My phone soft bricks.
Is there a better way to update the file. Or the file is just not compatible
What i have tried.
1 - Reflash > rooted > Deoxed > Arabic suport = Bricked ?
2 - Reflash > rooted > Arabic supprot = Bricked ?
Thank you
Anything
Yes, Please attache your original "Framework.jar" file for me.

chmod 4644 /system/framework/framework.jar
and should i do it ADB or just file expert.
Thank you for your great work.

Can you wait for few days. I promise i will make it work for you and i am trying to get the browser too. So if not today wait till tomorrow and it will work. If you reflash your device do not install anything just keep it Deoxed and rooted. So if we have any problem you do not lose your files.

HTC Magic 32B won't downgrade even with Goldcard

Hey everyone I saw some similar requests but it seems that no one has the same problem I'm having.
I've created a Goldcard from a 2GB Kingston MicroSD card and copied sappimg.zip to it.
But when I boot the phone using down-volume+power, it fails to load the updater.
If anyone could shed some light on the issue I'd be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Do you really renamed it to SAPPIMG.ZIP?
MS Windows can hide extensions and you see file sappimg.zip, but it is sappimg.zip.zip and phone does not recognize this file.
Double check that you are using right manual. Why do you need downgrade? It is not necessary
Thanks for the reply, Strogino.
Yes, I'm sure I've named the file sappimg.zip - I have hidden file extensions turned off.
From the two manuals I've looked at (CyanoGenMod wiki and theunlockr.com), I need to downgrade to the 1.5 firmware before I will be able to root it.
You said it is not necessary, can you show me the manual which does not require it?
Thanks,

As you have Android 1.6 - you can use UniversalAndRoot (but it is same like superoneclick)

Hi Strogino,
I posted the log in the link I sent, within code tags. I'm guessing your app Tapatalk did not display the code block.
UniversalAndRoot has worked like a charm, so I'll now go back to trying to flash my first ROM.

CIFSManager doesn't work in N7. Where is the CIFS.ko?

As title. I was using CIFSManager since my 9.7" AllWinner A10 tablet. After switched to N7, I cannot get it to connect any Windows 7 share drives. It always said "no such device". I see no "cifs.ko" in /system/lib/module. Will this be the problem source? Anyone know what causes the issue?
Thanks! :crying:
You can flash faux123 kernel that include cifs. The cifs.ko will be in this directory: \data\media\modules\.

Enable Adoptable Storage

Hello Folks!
This is my first contribution to the G5 Forum
! ADOPTABLE STORAGE !
You can simply enable it on the build.prop. Search for:
Code:
ro.lge.adoptable_storage=false
And change it to:
Code:
ro.lge.adoptable_storage=true
Reboot Your G5 and go in-to the Settings
Choose Storage and USB
Click on Your SD Card
Format as Internal Storage
Follow the Instructions and You're done!
Simple, or not!? I found it while playing with the build.prop.
More is coming soon! Join my Community to stay Informed
Reserved
If anyone can push better/english Screenshots... Please provide it! Thanks!
Are you guy serious ?
Enabling adoptable storage is that simple ?
I'll give it a try when back at home, but with only 32Gb of internal, that's a good news !
This is the method with root I imagine... Also maybe update the first post to include a way without root? I saw some methods in other sites and posts. But not sure if it would work for the G5

Really cool but doesnt seem to work with 64GB card.. At least mine is kinda crashing the phone when trying to use it as internal.. It jumps to 20% and then stays there for a while and then phone turns off and i have to remove battery... After reboot the card shows unusable... Have to go to recovery and fix it again to use it as external storage.. Any idea??? It's a sandisk 64GB

Will take a deeper look. I'm using a Sandisk 32Gb SDHC Class 10... I've formatted it before enabling the line on the build.prop. Maybe that makes the difference...

You're right... Don't know what the Problem is. I think it's just a matter of time to get it work. I don't want to do any Experiments before we have access to a Stock Firmware Restore. Bricked my G5 3 times Now. I'm just happy that everything works again... Can't live without this Awesome Device x)
Cleanmaster i.e. doesnt recognize the correct size. It simply ignores the adopted size.
With sdcard used as portable it does show the correct size. Somewhere i read that adopting can actually make a phone slower because it doesnt use the internal fast storage anymore or maybe i misunderstood this...... Looks like this option might not coming that handy as generally thought.
My computer doesn't show the sdcard volume when the phone is plugged.
I think this don't actually work. Just show it on phone screen, but that's all.
And the S7 methos seems to work (even without root) on the G5. I'll give it a try.
