No data isn't, but it will be by 0.2 or .3
Sent from my EzCaptivate

If Data is working, will we still be able to use the phone app to call?

I will wait for 0.2 then but thanks for the reply.
Will be there an option for people like me who don't use facebook to not have it!?

Sorry, I meant facebook sync - as it "sounds" like a process running in background but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong

That's great, once camera and data are fixed, I'll flash, if only to try if nothing else (even though I like touchwiz)
Also, what does AOSP stand for (new about this terminology)

great, thanks for your work, glad development is happening.

Yes, it's the same ROM. The OP in this thread will be working on the Captivate end of things to iron out the captivate specific bugs. The OP in the other thread is merely linking to the ROM in the vibrant ROM. This is all laid out in the first post... it specifically credits Eugene373 and barak.

Since it is vanilla, I assume there will be no Exchange support - that is not built-in until 2.2 - right?

Eclair (2.1) supports email and contact sync, not calendar. HTC, Motorola and Samsung add calendar sync (with GAL lookup) through their own firmware add-ons.
Froyo (2.2) adds calendar sync with GAL lookup.

source available?
hansmrtn,
is this available via github? That is, the build scripts and source? Thanks.

I'm going to assume some Google employees already have Froyo if applications are already starting to support it. Though, I don't see why they would make notice to us that Froyo support has been added to applications if it isn't publicly available or coming soon. Unless.. it is coming soon :/

What the hell is FroYo. I have never heard of it
Oh, codename for the next Android version. Sheesh
From the sounds of it, Froyo will be coming out around June/May, if I were a betting man. time line wise, and what not, it makes the most sense. Plus, with Flash 10.1 supposed to launch by June, it makes sense for them to launch the two at the same time.
Especially since Froyo is supposed to be the start of certain core apps being "add on" packs essentially, so that they can keep the system image smaller (hopefully means G1 support?) then the user just adds on what they want, ie you would download the Flash 10.1 app from the market. So it will be closer to a PC in its structure. I also think it is a sign that Apps to SD is on its way with Froyo or Gingerbread!

Not like I actually need this, It is just interesting to see what came come of it. I am extremely happy with the 2 roms im running now. Just to figure out which I like more now. Fresh Toast 2.1 or ZenEXP0.9.6

What comes of it is... 2.1 roms with ZERO bugs. Not even the audio bug.
I wonder if this is identical to the recent leak. I'm kinda hoping that we get the friendstream app or the updated sense running in Zen's ROM. I doubt that will happen. But at least we can have a stable ROM where everything will work off the bat.
Looking at the software versiom number, it's the same as the recent leaked version.

I thought 3.0 is only for tablets? I thought 2.4 was going to be the next Phone update.
Well, as we haven't even gotten 2.3 on the captivate yet..it will probably be a while for 3.0..hopefully it doesn't just work on tablets.
Well I heard news that the Nexus and Desire got a port of honeycomb, but they're non functioning atm

Truthfully...
Truthfully, I don't think that many developers truly tried to port 2.3 to us. Supercurio got that test demo out, but no one ever put out a legitimate ROM. And if we have to rely on Samsung... Well, lets just get used to having Froyo.
This just in: Cyanogenmod dropping development on CM7 for SGS.
Just kidding, but I couldn't resist. Lol

No it's a work in progress. If it was ready believe me you would know.
I've been using it for less than a day, but no show stoppers if you know what you're doing. phone works, mms/sms work, wifi can cause kernel panics if it falls asleep (just set to never sleep)... you can thank atinm and the cmsgsteam for it, but CM7 is VERY MUCH SO on the way and in progress

also, I already see this as going to be my daily driver at this point. the only "problems" I've seen are listed above (oh and the camera doesn't work quite yet, can't actually snap photos, just FC's on trying... but barcode scanner works)
not to mention the battery life is about 10% an hour on light usage
im hoping for the best and would love a solid release. I wish I knew more so I could help :/

Been my daily for 2 weeks.
If anyone is prepared to do some work the rom is there. Just don't show up and ask how to install Linux, what is terminal etc. You need to be self sufficient, its not a simple cwm flash.

If you make a phone sized AVD from the honeycomb SDK, you get a very functional phone ROM. Looks very similar to gingerbread.

[KERNEL][SOURCE???] Kernel 3.0.16 for Desire HD

Hey guys.
I just got an email from a friend who sent me a screenshot from htcdev.com website where apparently he saw that kernel 3.0 was released for DHD. I visited the website immediately upon receiving the photo but could not find it anywhere, anyhow..
If someone knows more about this please post. I'm not even sure I should be posting this here, and if not I'll close the thread.

Never said it seems legit.
In all seriousness. Never click a link I provide. 90% of the time it will be a Rick-Roll. Fact.
That does not apply to the CM7 builds I occasionally do.
But why we can not use the kernel 3.0 from One V? Because it has practically identical hardware.
There's a lot of sensation dls of the kernel. Can't these be ported somehow?
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
Nope. But folks are all over the One V kernel anyway. Just a matter of time now before it's ported. You can check out Nexxx over at Desire S forums. He's building a custom kernel 3 for msm7x30. He's done great load of work and still has a lot to do. You can follow the progress on his git.
