Zune pass works with the droid 2 - Droid 2 General

I don't know long this will last (hopefully forever) but a quick test by me shows that all my zune pass music actually works on the droid 2. Its a little buggy like it refuses to play the last 4 seconds of some songs but I believe that's on the licensing side of it.
So if your one of the few who actually have this service I hope it works as well as it does for me for you.

i wonder if thats exclusive to Droid 2 or if it will work on the Droid X too. Too bad i dont have a Zune pass account anymore.

HTC Hub new app / plug-in?

I got a notification a few minutes ago about a new app or plug-in available but when I tried to see what it was the HTC Hub app failed to pull any data from the Sense site. Did anyone else get the notification and if so, what is it? Curiosity is killing me!
Its HTC Media Link, the details say:
HTC Media Link is an accessory that lets you send music, photos, and videos from your phone to your TV or stereo wirelessly. If you have the Media Link accessory, install this app to make connecting your phone to Media Link easy.

CM7 + Honeycomb Music App = Cloud Music Sync NOT WORKING :(

I reporting back on something I stumbled on yesterdays after updating to the latest CM7 2.3.3 build. After updating I have been removing the sock music app then replacing it with the Honeycomb version. Upon that I was prompted with several permissions request and accepted them all. Syncing then started and I checked that under that under Account and Sync notice Music was syncing. This synced overnight. I put in a empty SDcard in. Then I went in to the Jumper Test that comes along with the Music app started the peer under the Controls tab, Ran a test under the Logs tab ( showed 785 files and the files names below) went back to the music app then went to music settings and checked Stream Music and my music started to show up! Played a few songs no problems at all. Let me know if this is working for anyone else.
*EDIT*
So I guess this inst working anymore. I did test this when I originally posted this but i cant get it to work anymore. Sorry guys not yet
is there a way to access those files from a computer too? i mean since its synced in the cloud, could be really useful.

If your objective is to have your music available everywhere, try AudioGalaxy. it streams to computers, android and iDevices.
How did you replace the app? I tried to but the honeycomb music just keeps FC'ing
As far a a URL to go to on a computer I haven't found anything. Ill post the apk i used when I get by a computer sometime later. Basically I just used root explore to delete the stock music app then installed the honeycomb player.

Gotcha. Did that, syncing now...
So, I have a question..
If you already have these songs on your phone, why would you want them "put them in the cloud", so you can play them on your phone, where they are already???????

So you don't have to keep gigs of music on your ad card. This is great news!
If they're in a cloud they dont need to be on his phone. In return he saves space on his memory card. However, if they're not on your phone they're not going to play when you dont have a connection.
I wonder if running a logcat during sync would reveal where this cloud is?
ah, that makes sense..
although, I have a 32 gig card, so i dont care that I have 10 gigs of music on my card..
Plus, thats a good point about not being able to play your music if your connection goes south...
Wait does this download the songs back into the SD card or does it stream your synced music from the cloud?

Honeycomb music sync Works! -Kind of! Maybe?

Looks like googles music sync is up and running for the honeycomb music app. It installs and runs on the epic, but I am passing in and out of a codine/nyquil induced acoma. Someone want to look further into this and see if we can get sync working? It appears to do something for me, but I'm no sure where the music syncs too to prove it works...and I'm not getting out of bed to get my laptop...not sure id make it to my desk...
A jumpertest app gets installed with it, and appears to impot and export...it also logs debug info...kthxbai *passes out*

Audio policy manager keeps erroring with unknown stream type errors on logcat...Interesting.... Need more cough syrup to sleep on it
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Pretty interesting. I'd love to do this. The more my phone can sync with Google...well, aside of the potential security risk, the better!
Here's a link to a tutorial, I haven't tried it yet. But I'm about to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11916958#post11916958
gonna try this too
The only issue I have ATM is knowing where the music is at. I can't tell if it is playing locally from the SD Card or if it is playing from the cloud I have no idea how to tell....
Ok so over night I let it sync, uploaded around 50 seconds to the cloud. This morning I deleted them all from my phone, went into Music > Options > Checked Stream Music and get Error "Sorry the player does not support this type of Audio file"
This is where LogCat goes nuts with Unknown Stream Type errors, in Audio Policy Manager...
I wonder if we can edit E/AudioPolicyManager to accept this new stream type, assuming that is where the issue is, and we knew what the stream type was...
Yea I also ran into that problem, so far nobody knows how to get around it. Some say it might be because the version of Android you're running or the ROM
Sent From My Command Center... (aka basement)
Out of the 50 songs I received this error on all but 2 of them. Maybe it just hasn't finished syncing? I don't know.....
I guess the good news is I was able to stream 2 of them.
Yeah if you got 2 of them to stream, then its only a matter of code to fix.
We're on our way to honeycomb! Baby steps..

Under Accounts and Sync, my music has beem going on pretty much all day, but I still can only play 2 tracks....
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Watching logcat, two servers get hit. music.google.com/jumper and clients4.google.com/chrome-sync. So Id guess google will be opening a new gdata api soon...just wish I could get a hold of it to see whats in the cloud.

[Q] Switch between media and mass?

Hi all. I can't find the usb settings to pick either mass storage or media transfer? Am I missing something here. All other android phones I have had, I would just go to settings - usb settings - then choose what I wanted. Don't have that option on this phone. I have the verizon play. Thanks for any help
Go settings -> Sony Ericsson. It's in there
Yeah, I don't have that option either. No sony ericcson under settings.
verizon version of the play can only do mass storage. plus facebook does not work right. so verizon did tinker with the op system

Why would they do something ridiculous like that? If memory serves, PC Companion can only issue updates when you are in Media Transfer Mode. Disabling it blocks one avenue through which you can get updates.
you cant debrand a cdma handset... atleast until you can get root. and verizon only wants you to get there update OTA no download for us...
well verizon in there quest to screw the consumer took the media transfer out so you will have to use there media transfer tool(STUPID as we cant update) I can see me returning this phone if they dont do something to allow updates///

You can still update via OTA and I believe SEUS still allows updates in mass storage mode.

Cyanogenmod Desktop Application (Windows, Mac, Linux)

So I woke up this morning, made me a hot coffee and thought; hey, wouldn't it be awesome to have a desktop program for devices using Cyanogenmod?! Could be like "Kies" or Sony Pc Suite. I don't think I need to tell the consequences of such a program. Is there already some work in progress or am I the first one suggesting a project like this?
I don't miss Kies. And I hate iTunes.
Not having to rely on a PC sync application is one of the reasons why cyanogen/stock android is so great.

Ok. I didn't told you, it could be exactly like Kies or Itunes! So calm down, please. I thought it would make the whole update process from one nightly to a newer one more easy. So you wouldn't have to check manually, if there are new nightlys, for updates. Aaand, you wouldn't have to "put the zip into the sdcard, boot into recovery, wipe cache/dalvik, chooze zip, push one million time's volume down button to hit "yes"" With a desktop app it could look like this;
Plug in your cm device>open CyanMod Desktop app>Push the "check for updates" button>a. Updates available= Push the "Yes, please update without full wipe" button. Now, everything is being done automatically....>b. No updates available....
And so on! Just imagine. But if you don't like it, it's by you =) you don't have to.

I agree it would be amazing if there was an application compatible with cyanogenmod roms that would act as a desktop client for messaging, updating the rom and stuff!!

I think software like KIES or iTunes is useless...
I must say I like the idea. I see that we have a software for every task you could possibly think of. Nevertheless it would be great to have some kind of all-in-one program. But I think it would only make sense if it is not Galaxy exclusive. I suppose it would be quite hard to develop such kind of program, but it would definitely be awesome.
And it would not mean you have to use it, just that you *could*. (people are lazy sometimes)
I like the sound of this.
there are lots of people who slate iTunes, but after having an iPhone and moving to Android. I would suggest that people have not used iTunes fully. My wish list
Program
Links to podcasts (text, mp3 and video)
Option to auto download podcasts as above
Integrated music player
Integrated music ripper
Folder updater for album art, meta data etc
Integrated video player
Integrated video ripper
Plug phone in
Option to auto start a program
Option to auto sync
Option to auto check for update
So far if I want an auto sync comparable to iTunes I need a music client, video client podcast client and for backups, I need to root my phone and do it on my phone.
It is easier to have these clients on my phone but still not as easy.
Cyanogen mod do have an updates button in the settings. This could be given a short cut on the home screen. One click (check), one click accept. Phone auto reboots and updates. I believe this is only set up for release candidates though.
The confirm bit on cwm. in the clock work mod folder add a file called
.noconfirm
if I remember correctly this gets rid of the multiple no, no, no, no etc.
