Does this enable app sideloading?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App

Im having some issues...
I had to restore to the base image .. again after trying out the i9000 ROM, and now when I run your update.zip from here it only roots the phone.
Nothing else is done.
I have tried running this twice in a row. Let me know what I am doing wrong.

pretty cool.

One thing to note is if you are running the lagfix or intend to it will not work with the newest version of busybox. You will have to revert back to 1.17.

Awesome, I'm looking forward to seeing some buglessbeast on our Captivate!!
You might want to see if you can get this update.zip added to ROM Manager
Good job, flashing now to see if it effects anything else on my phone

One comment. Busybox 1.18 removes a lot of commands, and those of us that want to use the ext2 lagfix have to revert to the more capable 1.17.1. I'd recommmend that you include 1.17.1 in this file instead of 1.18, until a better version of busybox is released.

Update:
Just Flashed Via ClockworkMod Recovery, After Reboot the ATT Startup animation, and sound were still there.
It also did not remove My Files or Google maps, leading me to believe it didn't work.
in clockwork it ran through the updatezip and had said it install successfully
Update2:
Ran through it again, and it said it successfully but did not apply any changes to my current ROM
Update:
Ran in normal recovery and it has seemed to work fine.. I wonder if this is a problem with your update.zip or with clockworkmod recovery

x2 on the ext2 fix
I am watching this thread with much anticipation...
Also, since you can remove the AT&T startup screen, does that mean we can put in a custom startup screen?

I have a silly question. Will this update erase any of my settings ,applications (apps not listed in the first post), and internal memory?
Thanks Guys!

Just out of curiosity, what blocks the ads within the browser and apps? Is it just a host file with blacklisted sites? (kind of like adblock). I've already done much of what Unleash The Beast will do except for the ad blocker.
@Bigfan - I would not expect this to erase any of your settings or other applications because it just applies the root and removes bloatware, but like everyone always warns... there is the potential for it messing something up or erasing data.

I'm going to be following this thread with much anticipation. Keep up the good work!

No not yet. I may be able to create a script to do so. I will look into it.

Correct, just replaces a hosts file. You can still run it with no ill effect even if you have done most of it already.

Thanks for this. I really like being able to easily get rid of all the att crap that is on my phone.
It would be real nice to have it enable side loading apps as well. but thats still an easy fix.

Anyone have a download link to busybox v1.17.1? I seem to have lost it

Awesome work. Will try it tonight.
One quick question. Does it allow you to select which of the listed items it removes? If not, would be a good feature to add. The restore tool will be great too, just in case someone needs to return their phone.

It did the job even on the new I897UCJH2 rom. Excellent work! Thanks

this thing seems to have sped up my phone. Love it. Only issue I'm having is the tether app isn't working.

Simply put.......... get it, or find a different app with root access to freeze it.
We suggest titanium because its the best at what it does, and is worth every penny to a serial flasher.
That sounds a bit wrong!

Titanium don't help me
Titanium don't help me, but:
Root users:
1. Root explorer - goto system/apps (press mount r/w - if don't press that you will get message for read only)
2. delete "market updater" and com.vending... (something like that - file have vending in name)
3. reboot
4. download old market from here, and install
5. reboot
6. check again in system/apps if exists market update (if no exists, than is OK)
7. with titanium backup make market like system app
7. run market

How to put market back in system using titanium backup???
Don't just bluntly delete the apk, disable it! From a root shell, enter
pm disable com.android.vending.updater
There, it's "frozen". No need for a paid app, S-Off or whatever. Just root.
Yeh but not everyone is as fluent as you in adb, damn took me 4 days just to get it setup correctly and now a month later I'm still learning the basics. With TB its a simple long press on the app and freeze but if you don't have adb its a long process installing for first time and then learning the commands.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
4 days to download the SDK and run it? Did you order a new PC in the process?
EDIT: Consider installing ConnectBot or Android Terminal Emulator. That way you don't need adb and the soft keyboard is good enough for the occasional tweak.
Like i said smartass not everyone is as up to date as you may be, bear in mind that i only bought my first android phone 6 months ago, only found xda 4 months ago and have never really tried to hack anything before except a few games.
It wasn't the downloading that was the problem with adb it was the instructions i was following, they were a little misleading as to where everything should be so as i was getting errors left right and centre so i decided to look further into it and realised i was missing things and a few things weren't in the right place, i never asked for help though mate figured it all out on my own and it's perfect now.
All i'm trying to say is the people having these problems most probably haven't got a clue how to use adb or the terminal for that matter as if they did they probably wouldn't be here asking questions therefore giving them the easiest, quickest possible way to solve there problem is best imo.
You're probably completely right about that, sorry for being a "smartass".

I tried that but I couldn't update any app from the market when disabled.
EDIT: it is not because of that but after removing market udpates it behaves strange, seems that I am able to install 1 or 2 updates but any successive update fails. I will try to get the log to see what is the problem.
EDIT2: seem to be caused by low memory
That's odd, mine still auto-updates applications (but not the market itself).

Totally agree. I to this day still have no idea how to use adb or fastboot!!! When I have tried I have failed miserabley lol.
On topic, I personally just deleted market updater from the rom zip before I flash the rom and have no problems with AP updates.
Lol I must be a smarter arse to get away without using sdk, adb or fastboot for so long.

you do not need to use adb. Just open the terminal emulator and type
Code:
$ su
confirm granding superuser priviledges
prompt should be changed from $ to #
Code:
# pm disable com.android.vending.updater
thats all.
you can restore it similarily using the "pm enable com.android.vending.updater" command.

Mods:
-Download Green Super Circle Battery Mod (using version 1.1.8 T5 Base, will work for future versions until otherwise specified)
-Flash rom, boot rom, then flash mod. Do not wipe in between.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. MAKE SURE DEVICE IS CHARGED TO 100%.
2. USE ADB ON YOUR COMPUTER TO REBOOT THE ACTV INTO RECOVERY WITH THE COMMAND:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
(OR USE ROOT TOOL BUTTON TO DO SAME)
3. FLASH THE ROM ZIP THROUGH CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY (WIPING OPTIONAL, BUT RECOMMENDED).
4. IF ROM DOES NOT BOOT, RETURN TO STOCK WITH ROOT TOOL, UPDATE TO LATEST FIRMWARE WITH MOTOCAST, RE-ROOT, THEN TRY AGAIN.
Included:
-1.7.10 (same as 1.7.12) base (contains Golf)
-Rooted
-Added packageinstaller
-Changed Key Layout
-1% battery mod
-Mapped power button double tap to "home"

To Overclock:
Download Dproldan's Overclock from here and install on your actv with a windows machine. (requires root obviously, and is a bit buggy with battery drain even when device is turned off)
To do:
Still broken:
-Searching market (or google search). No known fix exists yet, that I'm aware of. Added Market Search apk to circumvent this issue.
-This rom does delete user data. Sorry, it can't be avoided yet.
-Zeam Power Control widget will not shut off wifi. Use Wifi Manager instead. Menu > Disable Wifi.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How do I install this Rom?
A: Flash through ClockWorkMod recovery directly from your ACTV. This rom is *NOT* in image format, so flashing with the image flasher will *NOT* work.
Q: How do I install a different launcher?
A: Either sideload through ADB, or from the market (search via Market Search app).
Q: How do I load from the market?
A: Turn on WiFi, open it, sign in, and download; Either from your "my apps" area, or using the Market Search app. Searching the market directly won't work.
Q: My widgets won't stay (or show up to place on the screen), what can I do?
A: Make sure your launcher is not installed on the SD card in the settings. Use the launcher to make a shortcut on the home screen to the Applications area in settings, find your app, and change it. This should fix the issue, and is relatively easy to do.
Q: When I plug my ACTV into my computer, I can't get Motocast to show up. What's wrong?
A: Nothing, your ACTV is in ADB mode. You can't do both ADB and Motocast at the same time, so open the adb manager app on your actv and "Stop ADB" to enable USB mode. When you're done, if you want to start ADB again, just "start ADB" in the app.
Q: How do I reboot into recovery?
A: Open the ADB Manager app, and press the button to reboot into recovery.
Q: How do I change Launchers?
A: Double tap start button on first run, and DO NOT select "Use Default". This way, whenever you go "Home", you can easily select which launcher you wish to use.
Q: Does this Rom include the stock MotoACTV software also?
A: Yes. Both stock ACTV and stock Android launchers are included, along with all the stock software (even Golf).
Q: Superuser doesn't work, how do I fix it?
A: Open root tool, and select the "Root Only" button. You don't need the bootloader, only to re-root. Not sure why, but root breaks upon flashing in older versions, and this fixes it.
Q: Power Control Widget doesn't shut off Wifi. How do I turn it off?
A: Zeam's widget will not shut off wifi after setting the timeout to 10 minutes in version 1.2.0 T2. Use Wifi Manager instead, it works just fine. Menu > Disable Wifi.
Whats some features of this rom? is it compatible with more apps than youre previous rom? What is different from the DPRom released on 1/3/13? Does it include a launcher?
It's a work in progress. I don't know yet. I'm working on this, a galaxy s3 rom, and several other projects at the same time.

So I've tried the various ROMs available and have been happy using ClearDroid. What is improved upon in this version? Please be gentle, MotoACTV has been my first foray into Android OS.
Also, the reason I have stuck to ClearDroid has been due to it's compatibility with a large selection of resource intensive games. Yes, I game on this thing, ninja style. GTA3, Fruit Ninja, Dead Trigger, Battle Heart, Blood & Glory, Front Line Commando, Guerilla Bob, GBCoid, Nesoid, Minecraft, Mini Moto Racing, Mame4Droid, SNESoid, N64oid, Zombieville USA, Zombie Dash, Reckless Racing, Pacman, Race of Champions, Gun Zombie and Shadow Gun.
I'm dead serious, all of that runs on ClearDroid, lost about half of those when I switched to DProm, although I did gain access to Temple Run thanks to Gyro support.
My gf hates when i game on my phone, she doesn't notice as much when its on my watch

May be we should make a list of what modules are currently working on our lollipop moto e to keep a track.
Some one reported that xinternal SD is working.
This type of list will help all. What do u say??
Any one who got a module working can report here.
I read the comments youtube adway was working,,I didn't tested it on my moto e,will report and update the status soon..
Sure if anyone finds it can report I don't have any problems..
Not working on moto e 5.0.2 tried it yeterday, it flashes correctly via twrp but when u try to install apk it never installs, system becomes very very laggy.

It isnt working.... ie. framework not installing
and side effects are:
-All my apps on sd went missing(after restoring system partition i got it back)
-storage space was low it asked to clear out 250mb of space from system.....
-Lagged (maybe due to the storage issue in system)
anyway some 1 posted this:
Working on my OnePlus one. It wasn't working at first, but I got it by doing this
1. Flash framework
2. Install apk
3. Go back to recovery and flash the framework again

and other post
Using nexus 5 , purity ROM (lollipop version) tried two ways:
way 1:
1. flash the zip
2.install apk
shows xposedbridge.jar active , app_process doesnt
way 2:
1.install apk
2.mount system
3.flash zip
shows xposedbridge.jar active , app_process doesnt
i understand many people have it , but wrote it so you will save some time doing the steps i did.
EDIT - SOLUTION FOUND :
the solution is to install random modul (i choose chromepie) apply it and reboot - have fun using xposed

Can some1 try this?
It wasn't working when I first installed,I got full storage and phone lagged...
what I do to get it working was to reboot to recovery and factory reset, after reset I rebooted the phone,it took about 10-15 mins, after booting up I rebooted to recovery and flashed the supersu then xposed zip again, after reboot everything was normal no storage space error or anything,I installed the apk and all is working fine as of now..

Thanks mate for reporting. Even i had the lag issue. All apps on sd disappeared and a notification of 250 mb storage or something like that poped up and i went back to KK. I'll flash lollipop tomorrow. And report it here.
some modules that work good right now:
http://www.xda-developers.com/xposed-modules-to-install-right-now-on-lollipop/
App Settings [Lollipop Alternative by rovo89] [1]:
This was by far one of my favorite Xposed modules back when I wasn’t running Lollipop, and certainly the one I missed the most. With this baby you can change DPI per app (which allows you to keep whatever DPI you want on the rest of the SystemUI), as well as the application’s font scale, immersive mode, RAM pinning, and insistent notifications for those that don’t want to miss their valentine’s texts (and lose their heads over it).
Xposed GEL Settings [1][2]:
For those fans of the “pure Google experience”, this module can let you further customize your Google Launcher by letting you hide the search bar or individual applications, change grid, icon and text sizes, remove labels and more. It doesn’t make it quite as flexible as Nova, but it’s definitely a good module to have for those that love the Google integration of their launcher, and the cleanness and optimization of it.
RootCloak [1]:
Some apps detect root and either prevent access or limit your features as a preemptive method for security. While it is understandable some might want to further fortify their application, us XDA tinkerers can be left out of services due to this. This module hides root for the apps you choose, simple as that. We can’t specifically tell you what to use this module for, but if you’ve had problems like this before, look no further.
Advanced Power Menu+ [1]: This module lets you customize the power menu of your phone to add or remove items in any order you want. There are extra reboot options (soft boot, recovery boot, bootloader), a screenshot option, a quick-dial to call whoever, some connection toggles and a handy flashlight. I always have advanced power menus on my phones, and an Xposed module alternative is much easier than flashing additional zip’s. If this doesn’t work for you, the new Lollipop Power Menu module might.
XToast [1]:
This was one of my favorites back then, as it lets you add the Toast notification’s app origin into the message box by adding the corresponding app’s icon. That in itself makes it useful, but you can also customize said icon and add the name, or change the toast style back to older versions. The duration, transparency and where it appears also can be chosen. Basically, toasts are at your control to make them more informative and personal. You won’t know how awesome it is until you try it!
Lollipop Notification Ticker [1]:
This one was meant to restore the ticker on the status bar that informed you of the contents of your latest notifications. It was made before Xposed for Lollipop came out, which was a daring move that worked… partially. According to reports, it breaks heads-up notifications alongside fixing the ticker. If you dislike those in the first place, though, you might want to give it a try.
Native Clip board [1]:
Copying and pasting on smartphones was never the most fluid thing, nor the most consistent. This module adds clip-board management straight to the text-selection menu, and it allows you to theme the new menu, black-list apps and further customize it. If you happen to be working on your phone because there’s a document you might need to edit on the bus, this will prove useful.
BootManager [1]:
A must-have to those that want their device to be slim and efficient on boot. This module allows you to select which applications run when you power up your device, and those that don’t get allowed to do so usually stay dormant until you fire them up. If you’ve got a good amount of things that you don’t need right away but are hesitant to greenify, this can alleviate the dilemma of your user experience.

Empty galaxy rom...
I just wanted to let you know that I have it installed and have been messing with it for about an hour. Everything seems to be running quickly. So far the only thing I have noticed is that it seems to be running a little warm. I will report back with anything else I come across. Good work!!
I've been working on the theme but the ui is new to me. Still finding stuff. Thanks though @ITSAHERO hopefully as it set in it evened out the temp.
Couple questions
Hello there,
I am interested in installing the completely debloated version you did. Is the IR Blaster and the finger print unlocking the device working? Thanks in advance!!
I haven't tried the ir but finger print works. And you're very welcome.
I'll try the ir and report back. I'm in the middle of an install so it'll be a few..
Added
IR: Tested and fully operational
Best rom I've used.
Hi, downloaded the empty ROM on my tab s t700. Personally I'm not a fan of Nova so I tried installing google now launcher but it doesn't work for me? It installs and stuff alright but it just force closes on me. Now, I'm coming to this ROM from ironrom on which I was running google now launcher but I just can't get it to work on here. Am I the only one a facing this problem?
I'll download and try and report back.
Added-
Yes. You're right.
I removed Google search, sometimes I use yahoo so I like it out.
To use Google Now you need to first install Google search and go through initial setup then download and install Google Now.
The OP has been updated and the Empty Galaxy version has been updated to 1.3.
I had hoped to add a theme to it but it's taking more time than I thought to find everything.
If I get to a usable point with it I'll upload.
The rom ive been waiting for.. thanks dev.. what kernel suits best with it? Can you recemmend any?
I've been using the stock kernel so I can't really recommend yet. I'll give what's available a try today.
I'm using sky-high kernel with this rom, I have to say, my tab S 8.4 has never been smoother, almost as quick as my nexus 9.
Is this a US firmware? I have been using it and lost access to wifi channels 12 and 13. The tab could not detect my home network anymore. Europe here... Thx for all the work you've put into this.

My apologies, that didn't even cross my mind. This is a backup ran through a rom kitchen and cleaned up. But it was an ota so I've got to assume it's US. If I get a chance I'll look into it.
Best RoM used yet! Keep up the good work.
Thanks.. I'm not sure where I'm at with development on the tab s. Glad the roms are getting used. I'm still waiting for the official nl2 download. My favorite thing about the tab is having a device not connected to a carrier! And it really makes it so we don't need very many apps to start.

De-Bloater MIUI 8 China/Global Dev Roms [Recovery Scripts]

Background:
This is divided in 2 parts, depending on user requirements.
1. Flashing Miui_8_De-Bloat-Mover.zip will move/backup all bloats to Bloats folder in /system.
2. Flashing Miui_8_De-Bloat-Deleter.zip will delete Bloats folder, which can be done manually using any root file explorer or twrp recovery. It is done so that a user can move any required app by him to default location to restore it, as not all users requirements are same.
3. New Miui_8_De-Bloat-Mover_Extreme.zip is added. Some features are also removed by this one. See the list for more details.

Requirements:
1. Redmi note 3 (kenzo) on global/china dev rom.
2. TWRP Recovery
Downloads:
Miui_8_De-Bloat-Mover.zip
Miui_8_De-Bloat-Deleter.zip
Miui_8_De-Bloat-Mover_Extreme.zip
Procedure:
* If Clean Flash, Flash the rom and any required mods then boot to system, set it up, once done, reboot to TWRP and flash the Scripts. (Why?)
The scripts remove default keyboard so you may not be able to enter password when asked to unlock device. To prevent it, either move LatinIME/SogouInput back to its place or first setup the rom then de bloat it.
1. Reboot to TWRP Recovery.
2. Flash Miui_8_De-Bloat-Mover.zip
3. Use Twrp recovery to move any required app to its default location.
4. Flash Miui_8_De-Bloat-Deleter.zip
5. Hit Thanx on the Thread or your phone will brick
6. Reboot the phone.

More space in system so some apps can be moved to system by link2sd.
More free ram for better multitasking.
More battery backup.
These apps are safe to remove, some people (like me) don't use pre-installed apps (music, browser etc).

Being on dev rom enables to download ota from miui website and flash manually using twrp. No need of updater app.
Flash the rom and the ota, then any other mod you want, once everything done, debloat.

Dirty flash will work. I today updated 6.9.9-6.9.15
Also flashing xposed and super su will also prevent ota. You have to flash complete rom on every ota regardless.

I've managed to install systemless supersu and xposed and still successfully updated to 6.9.15 from 6.9.9. Well, I can download the whole update every time, but I would prefer OTAs. So, I will try your scripts for sure now.
And btw, is anyone else facing lags on the dev roms. The first time I flashed it there were none. Then, I moved to CM, RR, Exodus, Hexagon..... and after that when I came back to dev rom; because they were all lagging in gaming, even after trying radon kernel; the lag too cam along with it. So, now MIUI dev is also stuttering while gaming, which was not the case when I first booted it on my device. And, I flashed it through the fastboot rom, so there shouldn't be any problem.
Yesterday i got bootloop after manually uninstal gapps. Only gapps.
And I think this script will make bootloop too, because almost system apps are removed.
Nice De-bloater script. Yesterday I applied this on my Global Dev 6.9.20 and worked perfectly. No fc issues till now.
@Sudeep Duhoon, by any chance, can you create another script for removing some Google apps like hangouts, photos, drive, gmail? And if I want to restore any app(after flashing part 1 script), then all I have to do is copy from /system and put into /system/data-app?

Whole update is not needed everytime, you can download ota packages from website too.
Flash whole rom (6.9.9) then the ota (6.9.15) then any mod, and de bloat.

Suppose a new update comes 6.9.23, flash 6.9.9(whole rom as you have the zip), download ota 6.9.9-6.9.23 or 6.9.15-6.9.23, and flash accordingly.
It takes 1 more min to do this but gives more control to user (build.prop tweaks etc can also be used now).

Some GApps can't be removed like Google App. So you will get bootloop. Non of these are removed in these scripts and tested 4 times by me. Also If you get bootloop, just copy the required app from Bloats folder to original location and everything will be as before.
It is a good habit to make a backup before doing anything.

These will be some force close errors. As clean master, yellow pages etc. are removed, respective settings in security and dialer app will force close but that's obvious.
Sure, I will make a GApps remover too.
Yes, to restore an app, say system/priv-app/name, just copy the folder from system/Bloats/priv-app/name to system/priv-app
