I have a problem. Recently I 've installed new rom (touch-it 4.0)on my xperia. Everything was fine but when I plugged my phone to hi-fi, I started having problems.After i unplugged the phone the headphone icon was still on the display bar. I've tried to switch off the phone or even remove the battery but the problem still exist.I am not able to even make a call, without my headset, cause phone still acting like sth was plugged to the mini jack.
Please, do anybody know a solution to this case???

I've got the same problem. I didn't install any Mod Roms, but Ive heard it could be a hardware problem. All the suggetions didn't work... like unplugg it when you just started a call...
My main problem is that it doesn't play any sounds anymore... Coreplayer says: "Wave Output: Device error!"
Maybe its because i've installed WOW-HD Sound app...
Shouldn't have done so... I guess..
But the headset problem still exists besides the sound prob, cause ive read a lot of stories about exactly this bug...
It's the same at my phone: The headset symbol doesn't disappear when you unplug your headset...
I think i got the worst case: My sound doesnt work so i even cant make calls with the headset... means, left for me is sms and Internet...

I have a Rogers Magic, and I cannot for the life of me fix my microphone volume. Even when I restore a nandroid backup of the stock ROM, I still sound quiet and muffled. Is there a certain radio I should have flashed? I believe I am using the stock radio. I've also tried pretty much every custom ROM that will work on the Rogers Magic, and they all sound the same. I'm really stumped here.
Could it be a physical problem with the mic? Where exactly is it located anyway? Any help at all would be appreciated!
Try making a phone call, enabling speaker phone, disabling speaker phone then hang up the call. After that do a test call to see if that fixed the mic issue. Please let us know the results.

for the first time it was normal, but when I flash another ROM I have this problem, I tried several ROM for fix the problem but without result, I even returned a 2.1 eclair but without result,
Now I put an original ROM but still the same problem,
the microphone is activated only when I activate the loudspeakers during the call, and also for recording a sound it is sooooo low, you hear nothing

My brother just got a wing from one of his freinds today and we did a hard reset but cannot get any sound to come out of the phone when he is on a call. The speaker on the phone works fine, but not the regular sound. We can hear him fine on the other phone but he cannot hear us. Is there a registry hack that will increase the volume, or something we can do to make it work?

I am also having the same issue outgoing calls work just fine but not incoming. Nothing i have tried works i have flashed a new ROM to try and fix it and that didn't help. any suggestions would be great
Wonder anyone got this problem, make outgoing call or incoming call, no voice from internal speaker. But if I press "Speaker On" during call I can hear the voice of the other party.
Playing music song playback sound ok, only during call conversations , both outgoing & incoming, I can't hear any sound unless I turn the speaker-phone on.
seems there is a problem in the phone speaker, though the main speaker is working properly.
Tried hard reset and also changed the SIM, but to no avail.

My problem has been solved. I had created a backup of my system with SPB backup and it restored my phone back.
I think the problem arose after installing oldSAP speaker phone, which routed the incoming and outgoing call audio via speakerphone.
However, I cant understand that if it was a software problem, why could'nt it be solved by Hard reset.
Any suggestions ?

My problem with the phone speakers resurfaced, sometimes they behaved and sometimes did'nt, thereby forcing me to turn the speakerphone on for listening to calls.
I finally took my phone to a nearby Mobile Repair Shop. The mechanic told me that it was a common problem in most phones and the only way out was to change the phone speakers. The speakers available were Chinese ones for Rs 150 and what he called original ones for Rs 300. I opted for the latter and he replaced the speakers within 5 minutes, whether he changed the speakers or just refittted the Originals after cleaning? I do'nt know. However, problem solved since then.

I can barely hear other side, but other side can hear me great. When I am using SIM call everything is normal, even sound is more then good. During viber call i tried to increase with volume + button but there is barely change.
I try to use Mobileuncle MTK Tools but i didn't figure out what to change, and when i change something nothing happened (no changes after restart).
I only want to increase (boost, fix) call volume for viber/skype/whatsapp because other levels of sound are great (SIM call, headphones, back speaker , mic, media...) and don't need adjustment
