Unable to synchronise Facebook contact - Galaxy S I9000 General

It just keeps saying "Sync is currently experiencing problems" It happened two days ago. I try to fix with factory reset but it doesn't help.I try to sync with my friend account with no luck. Does anyone experience this problem?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk

Facebook sync doesn't seem to be working anymore. Others are experiencing this so I'm guessing it's the same for every GS owners.

Maybe you right, Davith.
I see other experience problems on Samsung Galaxy S facebook page.
I contact Samsung service but it seems they can't fix my problem.
I suspect that there are problems with Samsung mobile application on facebook.

first i am using built in app to sync contacts - not working
fb 1.3.1 syncing but inside contacts visible as unknown contacts with no photos...

Do not install 1.3.1 FB app!!!!!
if you do, NEVER tell it to sync your contacts.
use only the internal built in sync feature of the SGS!
Check thread #7695544 as well

Yep,
having the same issue as well..

I have the same problems with facebook and sync. How can i fix that??

just a suggestion, you can uninstall the facebook app from market
boot to recovery mode, wipe the data and also wipe the cache
then use the build in Samsung facebook app

I've given up on Facebook sync. It hasn't been working for about two weeks now. SyncMyPix is the way to go if you want to get your contacts' pictures.

Funny thing, it just started to work for me again.. Anyone else?

same here, I thought by doing some stuff like setting a new fb password, cache clearing and such I had resolved the prob, but maybe it was some general problem caused by facebook itself, not caused by any phone settings.
Well, it started working out of nowhere, let's hope it lasts ;o)
-com

Finallyyyy,
I got crazy trying to fix that f****** issue
100% sure it was Facebook's fault

Just started working here as well. GG Facebook.

Lost access to GMail

Hey all
I just had a strange problem with my Vibrant. Perhaps someone can help.
I don't know if this is the correct forum to put this in... if not, apologies and feel free to move it.
For the record I am running Vibrant9 on the phone, and everything has been running beautifully for a few weeks.
This morning, in fact, everything was running just fine. Then, all of a sudden, my phone lost all connectivity, both mobile networks and 3G. I rebooted the device, and the mobile network and 3G seemed to come back, but now it will not connect to my google accounts. I get messages saying either the account has changed, or the password is wrong for both accounts.
Web seems to be working over 3G, and I can make calls, but I cannot look up e-mail, and I get notifications saying my google accounts are failing to connect.
I'm not sure how to move forward with this, and I've never seen anything like it. I can log into my google accounts on my PC just fine, so the accounts and the passwords are OK... seems to be the phone.
I will keep looking, but has anyone seen anything like this before ? Anyone have this happen in the last 10 minutes ??
Any help appreciated.
Well I'm facing the same issue. Can't sync my mail, no apps can be.downloaded from market...its a issue.from Google.side I guess.

Until I can get 2.2 installed, I've given up on the existing gmail app that comes with 2.1. The gmail market app that is published recently is only 2.2 compatible. I've been using K9 for both gmail and my imap account and been far more pleased with it.

Really ? That's interesting. So google's mobile connections might be down ?
I can't find anything about that online... anyone else wanna weigh in ? Is this just a problem for every android handset ?
How frustrating.
Are you able to log into gmail on a computer? I had that same message the other day. Wasn't able to connect, my account had changed or password was wrong. Turned out, at 4 am there was spam sent from my gmail to 5 of my contacts. Gmail caught it and made me revise my password. After that, all is back to normal with market, gmail, etc...
Good thought, but I can actually log into gmail from my phones browser just fine with the same address and password.
Still have the same problem. Can log in to my mail using the other android email app. Just not the default app. Market broken, and anything needing that google account.
If others aren't having the problem, then it must be me, but I'm damned if I know what it is.
Might try restoring my nandroid backup.
Any other thoughts?

Odd. That may be your best bet...
Hi I just started having the same problem as well. Computer based gmail is working fine, but I can't access my two accounts through the gmail appand my mobile network connection seems to be down.
Edit: mobile network is back, but my accounts still aren't connecting.
Ok I just resolved this problem. Guess how?
I restored the nandroid backup that I took yesterday. Working fine now.
And what has changed since I took this backup? Only that I installed the overclocking kernel released yesterday... Could it be that?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Ok strange new symptom.
My nandroid backup doesn't replace the kernel, so I'm still overclocked and still running the new kernel.
However, since restoring now my google accounts seem to work (market ok, voice ok etc.), I can receive email, but not send it.
This is really troubling. Anyone have any similar problems, or ideas?
EDIT : The kernel I flashed yesterday is "[KERNEL] [2.6.29] [Flashable-.zip] [BFQ] [Oc] [Uv] #1 "Finally" '9.8 Linpack!'", which as far as I can tell is the only difference since this started happening.

Well I'm still facing the same issue. Can't sync my mails, unable to download apps from market and no friendstream either. So whts wrong guys? How should I resolve this? i uninstalled the updates from gmail and somehow it started working for few hrs but now again its dead :/...

Hi.
Bought my Samsung Vibrant a few days ago and I have not been able to log in to my google account. Due to this I have not been able to use any app or game...
Can someone please guide me on how to resolve this issue? I will be really greatful!
Thanks a lot!

SMS doesnt show pictures

I cant seem to get my linked Facebook profile pictures to show up in my text messaging app (the stock one). Only 1 picture for 1 of my many contacts displays, never updates though.
M using syndicate rom, Andriod 2.1. Anyone else experience this problem before?
I remember seeing a post about this a couple of months back. I don't recall whether it was resolved or not, but you should try looking around the forums for it.
Download SyncMyPix
Settings-> accounts and sync-> delete both facebook acounts. Then add facebook account back on from the same screen. Then login to your facebook app. That's how I got mine to sync a few months ago.

+1 on that
I can confirm that this worked for me also when I was using Syndicate. For whatever reason, that Rom/version had 2 FB apps/syncs.
I could have sworn I did that once before without anything happening. Maybe twice was a charm. Thanks though

[RESOLVED] Facebook Login problem with JVB

I just updated to JVB using ODIN. Then i rooted with latest cf root for JVB.
After that i tried to add Facebook account to my phone (Built in facebook account).
but it keeps on giving an error saying Login Failed. Samething happens when i try to add twitter account.
But with Facebook app for android i can login successfully...
anyone facing this issue????
Yes!
I have the SAME problem... Really bugging me...
Same with twitter as well
Sooo annoying... The facebook integration is one of the key features of the Galaxy S...
I'm still on XXJVK and have the same problem, think it may be a server problem rather than ROM
It's well documented on the net that Google removed facebook syncing with contacts with the 2.3.3 update on the nexus s. Might be related.
That would definitely suck.

Email cant add yahoo accounts either. This is not the case in jvk.
**Fixed**
Just install email.apk from jvk
Thanks for letting me know guys
.. Thought it was a problem with my installation..... Lets hope itll get fixed soon...
Coz i dunt think its a issue with 2.3.3 coz it worked fine in jvk...

Are u using the built in SNS accounts to add fb and twitter or are you using the fb and twitter apps downloaded from market?
because the problem is only with SNS account. FB Android app works flawlessly.

I think that because the service wont let you connect to the fb/twitter service... cos of that it cant get the new data. Whatever you restored from the backup will show up. Thats just what i think....

I found this problem on friday...
everybody surf by chrome firefox or ie to m.facebook.com
use the browser that you don't connect usually to facebook... and than try to connect to facebook...
they an problem on their servers...
than try to install on your SGS hacked browser and use desktop agent... now you will succeed to connect facebook
have a good week
i also flashed JVB and did a factory reset...
now installed facebook from marked and would set up my account.
It displays an empty EULA field with accept/decline button.
But on this moment the app hangs and crashes. I removed the app and installed the app again, but the same behavior.
EDIT: Ok, after a reboot of my fone the app works and I have no login problem!
Well I'm having the same problem as you guys, though I'm using a I9003 and just did a factory reset!
Seems to be like Samsung's server or facebook/twitter has some problem, especially with so many people logging in after updating...
I revert to JVK and got the same problem
i Guess Samsung has a problem with SNS server
especially that Facebook tell me tht you some one loged in from a samsung mobile device

Emails stop syncing on Nexus S

Afternoon all,
Does anyone have any ideas as to why my Nexus S stops syncing emails after a day or two?
If I go into Manage applications and clear the data, then re-enter my account details it works again for a few days, then stops again.
It doesnt seem to make a difference if it the built in email app or a third party one.
Any thoughts?
TIA

i am having this prob too.
Try reinstalling the app if you haven't yet. I was having this problem with the Gmail app and it worked for me.

No it's just connecting to an Outlook Web Access address. An iPhone connecting to the same server doesnt seem to suffer this problem.

Is there a way to reinstall the built-in email app? I have tried a couple of 3rd party email apps but they suffer the same problem, maybe a cache somewhere is filling up?...
Just wanted to pipe in and say I've noticed this as well with the built-in email client. Connecting to Hotmail via exchange service if that helps. It used to work without interruption prior to 2.3.3.
Same issue here connected to a University msft exchange account running Exchange 2010. I found the only other solution is to reboot the phone, then it start working again... for a bit. Stops working eventually though and requires another reboot. Rinse and repeat...
Nice to know I'm not alone in this irritation though... anyone clever got any thoughts?
Same problem here. Very annoying and unreliable.

Setting up facebook sync returns "Incorrect email address"

Hey,
as I realized last week that my facebook events and birthdays are not in sync, i checked the account sync's status, apparently it had failed to sync and still did. Then I deleted my sync account and tried to set it up again. But this failed too:
After entering my login data for a new integrated facebook account, it just reports "Incorrect email address". I am 100% sure this data I used is the same as in a browser.
Using the facebook account delivered with the official facebook app works, but can only sync contacts, not the calendar. Can anyone at least confirm it is no general bug to the samsung delivered account style?
Thanks!

I did, even though this should not change anything (and it didn't).
My issue is with the Samsung distributed version of the facebook sync (which used to work even without a facebook app installed)
I'm having a similar problem with Facebook calendar:
Recently I changed my email address in Facebook, after that I removed my Facebook account on the SGS that contained the old email and created a new one with the new email address. Contacts are syncing fine but in Calender no events from Facebook appear.
Going into Calender settings I can see that it is trying to sync to my old Facebook email.
Is there any way I can get calendar to sync to my new email address?

Hi guys,
I had the same problem when I updated my rom.
You probably need to clear the cache of the phone by using the 3 button combo option of the phone.

That's very strange, normally clearing cache always worked for me... Then I dunno what else to suggest... But keep us posted if you find out the solution to the problem.

Of course I will. Since I have a custom rom (Darky Rom 10.2) I confirmed with a buddies identical phone that it is basically working, so no ( at least totally) rom related issue.
I just hope to avoid my last resort, that is reflashing.
EDIT: Solved it. Never trust those lists of system app's purpose. Apparently one of those 3 is important to register this kind of sync account, not to run it: Dlna, GoogleFeedback, Layar, MtpApplication.
As I cleaned them after setting up the rest of my phone (to make sure everything is still working, with obviously backfired), I never realized that problem, so for people that mess around with their phones, don't forget to check those messy areas (and don't forget them like I did)
Thanks for the help!
