Help please: stuck on phone to PC screen - Vibrant General

Does anyone know how to get into download or recovery mode when Vibrant is stuck in phone to pc screen? Is it possible or is it bricked? It happened after a failed Odin flash attempt. Many thanks in advance.

Actually, gettin' out was pretty easy. I've tried holding both vol and power buttons for 10sec, release power when screen goes dark and download mode will start. Now I'm stuck in cache.rfs.

Bricked vs980 can't access recovery or download mode

I have the latest TWRP installed. Flashed CloudyFlex 1.3 and noticed that if my phone was in a 3g area, it showed I was roaming. I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647122 and flashed the vs980 flash zip. Can't get the phone to boot. It shows the LG screen and then it fades away to black and nothing. Tried getting into download mode but it won't do anything. Tried booting into recovery and it won't go. Any help is appreciated, but it seems hopeless at this point..
Update: Interestingly enough, there's hope. For some reason, the usual way for entering download mode didn't work (hold volume up and plug in USB) I was able to enter download mode by plugging phone in first, then holding volume up and power. At this point the download process is stuck at 0%. If I get this thing unbricked I'll keep posting updates as to how
if u got it into download mode then this should work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960

Downloading the tot file now. It'll take about an hour to download. Thanks!
Phew...it worked!
It's odd that I couldn't get into download mode holding volume + then plug in USB. It works everytime if I plug in phone first, then hold volume+ and power. I see LG screen first like normal bootup, but if I continue to hold volume+ and power, it switches over to download mode.

I'm having the same issue. I can't get my phone into download mode or recovery mode. I tried to plugging in the phone first and hold down vol + and power. But still nothing happens, the red notification light blinks when I continue to hold the buttons down. Can you help me out with this?

HELP! S8 won't boot after updating TWRP

I updated TWRP to 3.1.1.2 inside TWRP. The issue I encounter now is that my S8 stucks on the very first booting screen. You know the very first screen where it stated "Samsung Galaxy S8" and down below "powered by android".
I can't do anything. It's just like the phone has frozen at that state. Nothing works anymore. Even If I try to turn it off by pressing Volume down + Bixby + power button, it just restart and get stucks at the boot screen again and again. There's NO boot loop.
I'm on europe version of the Galaxy S8
stock rom and rooted (Magisk)
Got TWRP installed but after updating TWRP the phone freeze at the very first booting screen.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks for your efforts!
First of all - make sure you have the correct TWRP for your device. I know for myself that by searching google I got the S8+ twrp at first and flashed it by mistake without noticing.
Then try this-
Connect your device to a power socket (pc or wall, doesn't matter)
When you are on the very first screen, turn off the device by pressing Power + Volume down. Your device will shut down and you will see the charging animation.
Once you see it, disconnect the device from the USB and try one of the following:
Power + Volume up + Bixby for recovery mode
or
Power +Volume down + Bixby for download mode
I think the download mode will work, then just flash a stock rom or the correct recovery and try again
I failed right at the second step. Once I connect my S8 to power socket and tried to turn of the device by pressing Volume down + Power, the device turnt off for about 2 seconds and then reboot again to the very first screen. Even if my S8 is on power socket, I do not see the charging animation. So that is why I cannot continue with step 3.
Any Ideas buddy?
EDIT:
I got it enter the download mode
I downloaded the TWRP img from here https://eu.dl.twrp.me/dreamlte/
After enter the download mode, I flash TWRP via odin. It passed via Odin but my S8 doesn't enter TWRP but instead stuck at the very first boot screen.
Any ideas, buddy?
EDIT:
I've solved it myself. Thanks for your efforts!
I got the exact same problem but how did u do it please help me
Hi I just got the exact same problem as you but I cannot get how I would fix it please help???
Edit: I got it to download mode but I do nut understand how I would flash it
The only way around this I found was to Odin back to stock https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/development/rom-galaxy-s8-t3749444
Then follow the instructions to reinstall twrp using odin https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-s8-exynos-t3847712/post77735501#post77735501

Looks like soft brick. Try power+vol down, then when phone screen goes off press bixby and vol down and immediately connect the cable, it soud put the phone in download mode.

or he might just have needed to do a factory wipe
Can be, but in that case it should be no problem to enter recovery, but he says that it doesn't go as well

A20e stuck in download mode

Hi,
I have a new a20e (a202f) out of the box.
I followed another guide to root and install twrp which turns out was wrong. I unlocked the bootloader just fine.
I have no backup, no personal boot.img or anything.
Essentially I am stuck in download mode and restarting takes me straight back to download mode.
Recovery: Error validating footer.
SW REV. CHECK FAIL (BOOTLOADER) DEVICE"
Cheers guys
What guide did you follow? You have to download your stock fw from sites like sammobile then from there you can have the boot.img and etc. Have you tried flashing stock fw using odin?
Note: Usually you flash vbmeta for footer error when you flash twrp.

It was a guide on 'unofficialtwrp.com' - I can't link things here yet.
I have since tar'ed an unpatched twrp (TWRP-3.3.1.0_A20_by_Agrim720.img) + vbmeta.img + boot.img (from https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/help/boo-img-a205fxxu2asfb-t4008739), then I flashed through AP on Odin and now I think it boots past the download mode but instead it now has fuzzy dark red screen with nothing legible.
Oh bugger, I've been a class A plum.
Can I get out of this horrible mess?

Well you have to use your own boot.img from your fw, not all of use the same fw that's why, some are still on u2, u3 and u4. Maybe the boot.img you got isnt the same as your fw.
Well you can start from scratch and reflash your stock fw in odin.

Try holding volume - and power and your phone will turn off, as soon as it turns off press volume + & - and plug your usb cable that is connected to a computer.
No luck with that. It displays the message about running custom os etc and to press power to continue. So I press it and it boots to the messed up red/pink/black display.

Do you mean like the one attached? If yes you havent booted to download mode.
Try booting to recovery by holding volume + and power while you turn on the phone.
There is a option there to boot to download mode.

Yes that screen. I've tried your suggestion with volume + but that also ends up with messed up screen
Yes so currently I'm unable to get to recovery (not sure it even flashed properly), unable to get to download mode, or to get the device recognised in odin.
I'm unable to power off. The screen is blank and when I press power it flickers shortly with some black/white/red pink colours around the edges, but the screen quickly turns blank.
From this position I can only restart by holding volume - and power.
This boots to the samsung logo and then the 'bootloader unlocked' warning. No amount of button configs have proved successful so far, and then I end up back at the blank screen.
I'm happy to start from scratch. I have downloaded the stock firmware but I'm simply unable to proceed.
Aslo the device is not recognised in windows at any point.
Thanks guys

Are you sure you pressed and hold volume +&- and plugging cable before the samsung logo pops up? You have to do it quickly right after the device turns off. You shoudn't see the bootloader warning if you done this quickly and correctly.

Hello -
Please trust me when I tell you that it can be fixed. I had the EXACT same problem and drove me crazy for 24 hours. You can deffinetly fix your phone once you get to download mode.
I had the same issue where I could not turn the phone OFF it just looped back and I pushed buttons for hours to no avail... Then some one told me it WILL WORK, it is just the timing of
the button pushing, AND the USB cable plug in. Sure enough he was right. It took me alot of tries and I even took my phone apart and un plugged the battery so I could controll the power
ON / OFF better and time the button's easier. Here is what I did ...
unplug battery so phone was 100% OFF.
Plug in battery ( phone is still OFF )
Hold Vol - then Hold Power and Vol -
As soon as the power started IMEDITALY PLUG IN USB ( have USB READY to be plugged in FAST )
DONT let go of buttons ... screen will flash quickly and then Imediatly let go of power keep holding Vol -
IF you timed this right, IT WILL proced to download mode. If not, then start over again from power OFF ( step 01 )
It took me 3 tries to get it ( after 50+ tries before ) lol
Now I am not sure about the battery unplugging ... maybe you dont need to, but it mad it work for me as I could control the power ON part of this now.
Getting to your battery is not very hard and there is a you tube video on how to do it... if you need help just PM ME.
Good luck friend.
When this happened to me all I did was hold volume up and volume down. Kept cord connected to computer. Connected to device during the bootloop and boom within seconds I was in download mode. It catches it once screen goes off in between the bootloop.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Thanks you guys. In the end the battery died and then I could power up whilst holding vol+, straight to recovery and then I could flash stock rom.
Much appreciation for your help guys, it got me out of a pinch - it is my mother-in-law's new phone!
