[Q] Brightness Problem - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I just finally learned how to installed android but the problem is when I just started Android on my HD2 and went to Setting for brightness, it ain't brighten up, how can I bright it up?

ah a little more info would help a lot.
but basic over all its just like any other device.
settings>display> adjust brightness>
also if you long press on the home screen it will bring up a menu where you can select widgets. From that menu select power control widget and from there you can also control the brightness.

quickly adjusting sound - like on the wizard

I am really missing the abilty to quickly change the volume of the phone using the up down wheel like you could on the wizard.
The fact the wheel allows easy access to the screen is great though.
The ideal solution seems to be to map the left hand side ok button to the volume control instead of the start menu when on the today screen.
unfortunatly the buttons options in the settings do not include the ok button.
Is anyone aware of how to do this?
Maybe one of Vijay's apps could achieve this...

[REQ] Screen brightness shortcut

On my Touch I had a short cut button to dim the backlight in about 5 different stages. Is there any equivalent button or program I can use to make it easier to adjust the backlight as it remains too bright when driving my car in the night. Or even adding a button to TT7 to adjust the backlight, this would be jsut as good a solution for me.
Going to settings and manually adjusting means that I spend too much time fiddling with technology.
you can try WKtask manager! it allows you to adjust sound and brightness by tapping in the top right corner of the today screen! some changes to setting required( easy enough tho)
its freeware and can be found on the forum
Many thanks. Just dowloaded it and works fine.

Volume on Today Screen

Rather than the little speaker at the top, is there a plugin for the today screen to just tap "ringer on / vibrate / ringer off" ?
I know there is one in the HTC Home plugin, but that takes up a large amount of space on the today screen, and would rather not have that showing.
Thanks for the help.
If you goto Settings > System > End Key, you can set it to Vibrate/Ringer On. It's a handy feature, don't know if it'll be exactly what you want though.

customizing buttons and a shortcut for comm manager

Hi everyone! Ok first, i'm new and i tried my best searching the forums but can't find what i'm looking for. I'm used to a Palm Treo Pro which has a wifi button and skip track buttons for music on the exterior of the device. I want my Touch Pro 2 to do the same. Isn't there an app that can turn the front buttons into a pause and skip track buttons? Everyday i listen to music it's required i turn the screen on and touch the screen to change tracks. Also, when you press and hold the power button that turns the phone off completely..how can i turn off the phone signal without digging into the start menu and settings. Why not have a button on the home screen that will let you switch on and off the phone and wifi. Thank you for your patience and answers
Search for AE Button Plus.

Thank you for your reply. I will try that program. Also, I found out there is an option to customize the front buttons. I simply went to Settings -> Menu -> All Settings -> Personal -> Buttons and now I can change (some) of the buttons around the device.

CM 10.1 - How do I configure the button backlights?

On CM 10.1 RC1, I can't find the settings that let me configure the soft button backlights (i.e. Menu, Back, ...).
The default settings seem to shut them off really quickly, and I'd like to be able to configure how long they stay on for. It seems odd that CM wouldn't have this, so am I just blind?
I can only speak for CM 10.2 but I doubt it would change too much. Its under Buttons>Backlight as opposed to Display & lights, where one would assume it is. There's a bar that allows you set the illumination time after you hit the Backlight button.

I don't seem to have a Buttons menu in CM settings.
