Hi,
I am in canada and recently purchased a Beta Dell Streak that originally came from the USA. The phone works great. i love it. I also have a sony X10 but i am more inclined to use my streak as my primary phone.
But i have a problem with the 3G Data. Everything works. I can make the calls.. I just can't go on the web using my data plan. does anyone know why this could be?
Nevermind... I made a mistake in my APN settings. Works like a charm!

if so, whats the network like, does the youtube app, mobile tv work alright?
also, have u had any problems?
No probs for me. I'd say slightly worse 3g reception than my old Tytn, but not enough to bother me. Youtube works, don't use mobile tv. This is with an unbranded htc handset.
Works great.
I've had no problems with You Tube, Internet, Push Email or anything

Works great for me although no 3G in the US for my TMobile
I´m using my HD with German T-Mobile and everything´s fine so far

thanks for the replys, am in the uk, havent bought the phone yet although will do in the next few weeks.
seems like everyones happy with the t-mobile, and the data allowance.

Had my phone for two weeks now and it works great on T-Mobile and the data allowance it better than orange.
I live in the USA and use T-Mobile. The HD works just fine even on this network for push email, You-Tube etc. Travelled to the UK and roamed there as well in late November - no probs!

nope. I tried with both mytouch 3G and Nexus One (which tmobile does not officially carry)
They can tell you have an android Operating system regardless of the phone. Faking useragent didnt work. To get Tmobile data for android phones you need the android data plan. if you get it online its 30$, but if you call Tmoible and ask them they will give you it for 25$
guy above is very wrong.
I've been using a Nexus One with my 2.99 tzones for a while now.
I think the key is not buying a phone within the tmobile IMEI range. Since the N1 was sold directly by google and could work for both ATT and Tmo, it was outside of the range.
Maybe someone can confirm my reasoning but the Nexus One works great on tzones. I get 3g speeds easy
I use a T-Mobile prepaid SIM with an unlocked Samsung Captivate and it works just fine, although on EDGE not 3G. I get the T-Zones website where I can manage my account. T-Mobile has also recently added a option for 24-hour data at $1.49 and that works as well.
Best Android phone that works on tzones is a WM phone. HD2. Flash android on it and you've got a stable android phone rooted and unlocked that works on tzones. Been using it for about 2 months now and it is AWESOME. Great thing is, the HD2 is cheap on craigslist.
Tzones uses what ? Edge or 3g.
Wife has an hd2 I flashed a nand rom on it. Id like to know if for sure can switch out over to tzones and still get great speeds

I've had the 5.99 t-mobile for years.. been through all my Moto and HTC phones starting with the first smartphone good ole MPX200 "when data was free!" not many phones at the time could even use web! 3G works great on my Nandroid HD2 currently.
N1 works on tzone. and yes, best phone that works best on tzone with 3g is the hd2 on android.

Anyone in the US use AT&T and an HD2 and SMS? Any trouble? What are your settings? ROM? Are they stuck in the sent box? Outbox?
I put my iPhone sim in my HD2 once i got it and SMS worked fine. I think trouble started about a week later when i went and registered my IMEI with AT&T to get off the iPhone plan. SMS show as sent but they arent nor do i receive them. I even got a new sim today. no luck. I've tried the hotfixes and flashed to the asian 1.66 ROM. Still no good.
I would give anything for a fix.
I feel like an idiot now with this cell.
ive been using the hd2 on att in chicago for about 2 months and I haven't had any issues with sending or receiving sms. I did not register mine with att. I have also tried more roms and radios than I can remember and all have worked. im currently using the newest Dutty rom with the 2.07 radio. my settings are the default ones that load first time you launch new rom. pm me if you need them. good luck.
i've been using mine since friday and never registered it thru at&t since i was an iphone 2g user and since their network will never detect what phone im using now i would think it will benefit me i.e. my iphone 2g plan is $20 bucks that inckudes 200 text message and unlimited EDGE (which is medianet) and since the unbranded HD2 that i bought only supports edge thru at&t which realistically is the same as my iphone 2g plan, i didnt bother reporting it. To make it short, i just inserted my sim card from my iphone and HD2 setup everything and working like a charm!
now your quivk fix would be, calling att using your iphone and tell them you would want to use it again and they will revert everything back as it used to, after doing that go ahead and swap your sim back to HD2.

I guess this is what I will do. I originally switched because i thought MEdianet incurred extra cost.
I wonder however since i have now registered my IMEI of the HD2 with AT&T that if i switch the plan back to the iphone and then put the sim back in the HD2, AT&T will see the IMEI and know i am using the HD2 again. Anyone know?

I am using one on mine.
Seemed perfect at first, I just put it in and got on the net straight away WITHOUT putting in a new APN. Full H signal everywhere.
I got a couple of texts thru, but four hours after using the rebelsim, my missis came home from work complaining that my phone has been off for four hours. Sure enough, i put my sim back in my HD2 and a flurry of messages came thru!
Apparently, according to an email another rebelsim user recieved, you have to turn the streak to 2g only mode for a while then put it back into 3g when you need to use the net.
Ill test it out!
29-06-10- Just taken it out in town(1 mile), didnt loose H signal once. Ill be at work tomorrow which is 20 miles away so we'll see how it is after that...fingers x'ed

Right, well just got back from work. Lost signal as soon as I got to work, didnt get it back for aaages. To get it back....I put the sim in my HD2(without rebel) and still no singal, to get signal i have top manually select t-mobile, and network connectivity was restored. Then I put the sim back in my Steak and hey presto i got signal. Switched 3G on and all was ok, even got thru a few texts. But sure enouogh I lost signal again after about an hour, but i just put sim in HD2 then back in Streak and it works!
There is a pdf on the Rebel site which explains that the Network keys on the SIM are refreshed by installing your SIM in an unlocked phone. I have been using the streak in GPRS only mode and I have had no issues for 1 week. I switch to 3g when I need it but always return it to gprs-only after. I Google everyday to see if I can find an unlock code but none seems to be selling them.....yet.....But for now, I can live with this because the streak is just great. I sold my milestone and don't miss it.

I constantly loose my signal, using Rebelsim when e.g. i'm on subway or in a basement and Streak is unable to find my network again (no service message).
The only solution is to put my sim in another 2g phone and back to my streak, and it works. Ofcourse i have tried only using gprs or even no data at allo, but to no avail.
It is practically impossible to use my phone this way, because many times a day i enter areas where the signal is minimal or zero and my phone gets out of service and i need to swap my sim cards.
Any chance we could see a permanent solution (maybe an unlock software here, a site selling unlock codes or even o2 providing them now that streak is being sold sim free)?
I am desperate because i live thousands miles away from England and i see my hard earned cash streak becoming useless.
I dont understand how can rebel sim sell the product...it is not working at all...is anybody here using a rebel sim with full satisfactin..? without any problem..?

If the device looses signal for some reason then you should put your sim in another phone and vice versa to streak, for it to work. No matter if you have 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G,... Period.
Completely unreliable and unusable...
That's not good news!!!
I bought one from eBay , I will have it within the next days, and I was hoping that the rebel sim card would do the job.
As I read a lot are having problems !
Any other way to unlock the Streak ?
I also bought Dell Streak off eBay based on earlier thoughts that it would work flawlessly on Rebel sim. I guess living in AU has it's tolls. I think I might be selling it back to UK friends.
I am just holding back for a few days, RebelSim might have an update or someone will actually get a software unlock for us. Fingers crossed!

The product has always worked from the start
using the V1.1 it was more complicated to get it going none the less the solution was working and still no other solutions exist other Rebel Sim II
with v1.2 we added auto APN detection and auto Regeneration of authentication keys within the Dell so you never loose network and if ever you do then it can regain it self without taking out and also fixed 3G issues for users with free upgrade with v1.2

No, there is a hardware limitation in having it work. They discovered that when trying to get it to work on the HD2 running Android. Sorry!
