THANKYOU

The echo is only faint.
Slight annoying more than an inconvenience. No one has commented however I did hear it myself when I rang myself from another phone.
Certainly worth trying
The robot voice seems strongly related to the rom. I switched to Miri's latest and this solved the problem. Voice is unusable with robot voice.
I have been using Darkstones rom for 4 days now and all is very good.

[Q]Help from all Android developer, Call volume is too loud -even with volume at min

Dear,
I have this issue all the time , it seems that it happens on all Android Builds and i always use the volumeup workaround (volume up then volume down).
Is their any way to change the default volume value.
I haven't got that problem.
You should ask your problem in your build's thread, as it's build-related

I wish I had your problem, but then again whats loud to one could be soft to another, is your problem in call? or is yours the speaker is too loud? (Ringer volume)
If its the ringer volume, then I want your problem!
I have sensitive ears but my EVO in-call speakers are too low. The externals are really good though.

Lol idk about that..i just remember someone showcasing their hd2 to me and making fun of my EVO cause they had a faster phone with a bigger sd card and they could run android on it..

PPl. my problem is as follows :
1- make a call set the incall - volume to min
2- end the call
3- make a new call you will notice that the volume is still to high ( but the incall volume bar shows that your volume is min.
did you get my points
i tried 70% of the builds with different radio version and i still have this porblem

Got the exact same problem! I wish there was a solution to this as everything else is running flawlessy ([RAM] darkstone SuperRAM FroYo v1.5 [kernel: Hastarin custom])
Guys, I've also been having this same volume problem across three different Android builds. It seems it's NOT an isolated case. There are dozens of posts across dozens of bulletin boards. Here are just three such examples:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2973
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=10660
http://androidforums.com/htc-hero-sprint/23885-your-call-volume-too-loud.html
I really hope we can get some of the ROM devs to look at this, because the phone is virtually unusable for me with this present problem.
Thanks!

It seems that our troubles can be solved by finding and editing startup.txt, but I'll be buggered if I can find where the heck it is.

Startup.txt is in the Android folder, for SD builds only. I've had a look in build.prop (the first place that comes to mind for this kind of thing) but it's not in there either.

Thinking that the reference in that post was for WM, I edited my post to remove it. But nevertheless, the problem remains, and it's really troubling. The phone is barely usable in this condition. Makes me want to <gasp!> go back to WM until it's sorted out.
Got the same problem, with any android build, to me it's a major issue, that makes me switch back to winmo, actually there's a kind of "workarround", even if you have your volume @ min, try getting it one step higher, it will actually become less loud; dunno mebbe it has been mentioned, anyways, it seems not too many ppl actually care about this...
this is the only build that have this problem fix

I don't know if this is any sort of a clue to devs who might be looking on here, but it seems that the problem is the OS is changing volume levels triggered by some event, probably an incoming call.
I've come by this observation after installing a volume widget where I observed the volume setting changing to go higher. Perhaps there's a bug where the OS is not differentiating between the speaker and the earpiece.
Hope that's a clue for you tech guys out there to look at what might be going on "under the hood". This is a really annoying problem and nearly makes the system unusable, and it's a shame.

[Solution] Robot voice issues - NAND Builds

I believe I have found a fix for robot voice issues. I was playing arround with several builds and could not get it fixed. It did not seem to matter what type of build, sense / non sense / kernel was used, but randomly I would get robot voice.
I know this has happened to a lot of people but I think I have found the root cause and a temporary fix.
The problem seems to be stemming from the dial pad sounds. I noticed that before I heard the tone from the keypad there would be a weird click sound. Then the robot voice would appear. If you then tried to dial again it seemd to crash the phone.
To fix the issue simply go into Settings -> Sound and disable Audible touch tones. I disabled Haptic feedback as well but do not think this has anything to do with the sound. (May differ slightly on how to disable on certain builds)
After I have done this I have done multiple reboots and have not had any futher issues with sound.
Sorry if this has been posted before but I just wanted to let you guys know what I have found out
Cool!

T-Mobile USA
I upgraded my radio on my T-Mobile HD2 USA with with ver. 2.15.20.14 and it solved my robot voice problem. See if that works for others.
Upgrade just the radio, and nothing else, did the trick for me.
Saved the day!

[Q] [March 6] (Q) NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.3 intermitent Speaker

Hello all. I just downloaded NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.3 and ran it on my HTC HD2 and love the way it runs and looks. I previously had a Desire SD dual boot, which I HATED, but I wanted to try NAND. I REALLY love this, but when I make phone calls, I lose speaker sound and no call volume. If the screen flickers, it does this as well. I installed 2.08 HSPL, and everything seemed to run smoothly, but my only issue thus far and hopefully this is it is the sound issue. Robot voice at times. No ringer, no volume on received or dialed calls, alarms, etc.
Any suggestions on how to correct?
Again, I LOVE this, but this is the only issue I am currently experiencing.

Why do you start a new thread and didn't post your problem in the ROM thread ?
Hint: read first post in the NexusHD2 thread...text below known issues might help

[Q] Very poor call/voice quality

Hi all!
First of all i'm sorry for my english!
I think that a lot of people will agree with me that HD2 (with android) have many sound issues.
I may be patient with most sound problems, but not with microphone issue couse no one can understand me when talking with me.
My friends told me that they don't hear me clear, but i wasn't paying attention till i gave my phone to my friend for a week. When i called him i understood what are they talking about.
I heard him like FM radio with poor receptivity.
It feels like microphone is boosted to 100% and most of words aren't plain.
I tried to search the web and xda forum and didn't find any solution.
Someone in forum found issue with audio libraries in /system/lib (libaudio.so ; libcutils.so ....).
I tried to replace them with his files, but my rom was stuck on boot.
Does someone have similar issues? Knows how to repair? Something?
Unfortunately I have experienced robot voice both on Pongster's CM7 v1.0 & GBX v8.0 roms.
So, I tried gpc hd2 gb v2.0e rom which was released on March 9, 2011.
Absolutely NO robot voice & high mic gain from the 1st boot on two hd2s(tmous Leo 1024, Radio 2.15.50.14) in my home.
I didn't neet to turn off audible touch tones in sound settings.
Hopefully it will work for you too, mate!

[Q] Android calling problems

hey,
maybe anyone can help me, since i installed android. Its been a long time btw but i got some problems when i get calls or want to call someone. Sometimes everything works quite well. But sometimes, when i pick up or the other persons picks ups, after a few seconds the call interrupts with wired sounds.
I dont know why, got somebody else similiar problems? or does anybody know a solution to fix this issue?

The radio is the latest version. Flash it.
And disable dial tones of your rom. they should be in settings somewhere

Yeah i updated it yesterday. I'll see wether the problem is still remaining. Dial tones are off. This is the first thing i did. Hate those sounds
But my question is, did somebody else got those problems? I searched forum and found only one thread, but there was also no solution for it.
#edit
Okay, i googled "robot voice" didnt know that this problem was called like that. Like i wrote ill wait wether the problem with the new radio rom is still remaining. I have to wait a few days and chech it.
thanks for all your help
