Which Radio version for Dutch T-mobile - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi Guys,
My HD2 has a radio version of 2.07.51.22_2.
I read everywhere that I need a 2.08xxx version to get Android working.
Are there any Dutch users who have upgraded their radio???
As I understand with the wrong radio you can have bad signal, gps etc.
So....
If your dutch, what radio are you on
And with which operator (I have T-Mobile)
Tnx for helping me out

radio 2.12.50.02_2
Hi Bazzz,
I'm also on T-mobile, I'm running:
2.12.50.02_2 radio (576 MB ram).
ChuckyROM WWE Maxmanilla.
Experiencing no issues during WM usage (except for better battery life compared to stock rom & radio)
As fas as my Android experience:
I've tried dan1j3l-LeoFroyo-Sense-PR1 build with approriate(?) rooted rootfs and Cotulla NOSPEEDY zImage.
Everything works fine (wifi, 3G, market, camera) except during calls the recipient experiences a lot of background noise and I can hear just a slight echo.
Oh...and battery gives me half a day of usage without tuning (sync, 3g CPU speed)
I was running one of dutty's ROMs last week with the same radio, but this gave me the "robot voice" during calls while using Android.
Good luck.

Hop101,
Tnx for your feedback, I have upgraded my radio to the same as yours.
I will no go and test a android build..
Bazzz

Bump, Im still having problems with echo, anyone a good radio version with a stock ROM t-mobile WWE for holland?

You also need a 'android compatible rom' like chucky's,energy,or miri v17

I' running T-mobile (the Netherlands):
Duttys_Leo_Sense_2.5_5.24623.5.3.7_2.13_Creme_de_la_Creme__V4__NLD
Radio_2_12_50_02_2
Android
[BUILD][07.08.2010][FroyoStone Series - V1][Kernel: manusfreedom 2.6.32.9 #74]
After some problems i managed to get it working by:
- backup sd-card
- format the SD-card
- install radio
- install Dutty
- install Android
- restore backup of sd-card

2.12.50.02_2 radio
with
Energy ROM (winmo)
and I have the shubCraft v1.0 by shu8i (android)
no problems for more then 24 hours now

Hi there , im on kpn and i have the 2.12.50.02_2 radio with miri n dinik v17.6 wwe rom..
On android i have this build - mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense 1.5 ..
And it works fine , no sod just battery runs out quickly..
Try to flash a windows rom that is 2.13 based.. That helps the best when runing android...

2.12.50.02_2 radio on Telfort.
Not using one of the recommended, using the VBNrom GTX 2.5. Workes without a glitch.

T-Mobile NL too, here.
Radio: 2.11.50.26
ROM: ChuckyDroidROM
Android Build: mattc Leo + FroYo w/ Sense 1.5
Kernel: manusfreedom #74
Running flawlessly for more than 24 hours now. (Used to have Dutty's Nu Era v2, gave me several issues though (robot voice in calls, messed up music playback, etc.), as it used the 2.14 base ROM)

Tmobile Data when using Android

Im only getting data over wifi but not over Tmobile cell network.
Any clue on how to get around this? I would like to use both WM and Android data.

which android version are you running i had the same problem with the first one i tried n switched to froyo sense v.1 n its fine now
when posting questions like these you need to post what build ,
what winmo rom your running , and what radio rom your using
Here are my settings:
Device: Tmobile HTC HD2
ROM: 21.08.2010 ChuckyDroidROM 23132 ~ 2.10.1

There is a second version of mattc 1.6b. You need to download that. It has a different rootfs file that you will drop into the original Android folder you are currently running. Head back over to his thread and grab it. I had the same problem and it works like a champ.
You just swap in the new rootfs file and that's all.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Ok so I changed my ROM to Energy and updated my Radio to 2.12.50.02 (I couldnt find the different version of mattc Leo 1.6b referenced above).
Now my data as far as internet browsing works but..... it seems that none of the apps are working with data. Is it because they are android based apps trying to access the Tmobile network? I can access everything on Wifi but only the internet on Tmobile's cell network (no apps, email, etc...).
Thanks!

Its not a different version but a different rootfs file that you replace original one with.
Read carefully on mattc thread:
1.6b Download link: Fastest (scroll down for download link):http://www.androidmayhem.com/showthread.php?p=48#post48
Mirror: http://www.multiupload.com/UIC6WCQLYM
Download for RMNET (only use if you are having internet or hard freeze problems): http://www.multiupload.com/MOZ9UZKFJF

you have to download the RMNET zip file, extract the rootfs and replace the original one.
back in the day before the builds were better tmo users used to have to change their apn to wap.voicestream.com. Dunno, try that.
Yeah, I think the reason 1.6b works better is because it detects and sets up the APNs correctly automatically.
Manually inputting the correct APN settings would've worked too.
Thanks all, everything is working great now. I have been running for about 8h so far on android and all data and freezing issues seem to be solved.
I did 3 things but I'm pretty sure it was the last one that helped.
1. Changed my ROM from Chucky to Energy (Probably didnt make a difference)
2. Updated my Radio to 2.12.50.02_02 (May have helped)
3. Did as suggested above: "Download for RMNET (only use if you are having internet or hard freeze problems)" (I think this one did it for me)

I don't own HD2 myself, but I have put Android (different builds, always the same issue) on few of my mates phones (mostly T-mobile uk), and I have had the same issue as described - setting up the settings manually wouldn't help either. But every single time, after going online using wi-fi solved the problem - no applying any fixes or replacing files needed (its seems like it got all the necessary files/settings/fixes? through wifi). Unfortunately I can't do any more tests, because (as mentioned before) I don't own HD2 myself.
You guys should try it and let us know if it works for you.

Hey guys. Reviving this thread. Back in an old shubcraft build i was getting 2.7 mbps according to fcc test although it didnt feel like it. Now im getting 1.7 max. Do you guys know how to improve the speed?
I'm using a Miri rom optimized for Android, can't remember which one along with Shubcraft 1.5 ppp. Any ways to optimize the speed? Is there a best radio for tmo users?

[Q] Android on stock HTC ROM?

Hey,
Just wondering if anyones tried running Android on a stock HTC ROM?
I'm thinking of re-flashing the original Windows Mobile ROM and seeing if it will be able to launch Android from SD Card?
I've heard someone say it has been known to work?

I will be tonight when I finish work
Thought i'd ask ahead just in case anything I need to know. I want to have the stock ROM just because everything works on it and battery life is pretty good, but then can have Android to play around on
I am just using Android on my Stock Rom for the last 20 days.
Its working fine but the problem is instability in the Working of Android.
I have tried all the versions with different Radio versions.
Among them the best suit is Shubcraft1.4d the latest one and Radio version 2.11.50.20
I've been running Android on my "original" stock TMOUS ROM for about 3 full weeks now. At first, I ran Android with the stock 2.08 radio for about 4 days. For some reason, I rebooted my device and I was never able to get Android to run successfully again. I kept getting WSOD during boot-up and BSOD when trying to wake from sleep.
Finally, I flashed my radio to 2.12, and I've had absolutely no problems. I've seen many complaining that the stock TMOUS ROM causes problems, but I think it has more to do with radio, zImage, and build combinations than WinMo ROMs.
Good luck
just loaded android on stock 1.48.707.2 rom but with updated radio 2.12 version seemed to work o.k but froze a bit here and there seemed useable apart from the crashes

hmm, think tonight i will reflash to stock rom from HTC and then try radio 2.10 as per person further up, try it with various builds then maybe try radio 2.12... i will post my results within the next several hours
I think there are also differences between TMOUS and our European ROMS. Especially because of the Radios. I thought about Flashing back to complete Stock ROM SPL, etc. That way I could never get any problems with the warranty etc. I will try it when I find time.
I tried on the stock ROM and sadly everytime Android would go through the initial boot it would just display some text in the top left, then stop, then the text would slowly "fade" from bottom right to top left and the backlight of the screen remains lit but the phone hangs with nothing displayed
I've now put on the phone:
Windows Mobile ROM: Elegancia E-CHT ROM
Android Version: Mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense
Radio: 2.11.50.20
I've put a shortcut to CLRAD.exe and HaRAT.exe on my home screen on WinMo. Now I can use Windows Mobile for stability and battery life and working Wi-Fi Tethering etc, but can boot into android for games, apps, smooth interface and most of all, bragging rights(can now ram it into my friends with iPhones faces)
While i'm here now i've changed my set up completely, i'll explain what its like
With this set up, i've found the phone is some wait smoother, the screen still freezes but not for as long as before.
I've found sometimes the interface can sometimes be slightly sluggish but not enough to be a problem
I've called speaking clock and the voice was very clear
Overall very happy and now have the best of Android and the best of Windows Mobile
On my normal WinMo Rom I've used for quite some time now (some weeks before trying the first Android build) everything runs without freezes etc. So far 1 SOD and 2 freezes without a visible reason. And I'm running mainly Android for 5 weeks now. So it seems I was quite lucky to have an Android compatible ROM without having to flash some stripped down ROM. The only thing I'm missing in my ROM are fast boot times but those can be improved by disabling Sense.
I use stock ROM 1.66 ELL but Radio changed to 2.12 (with stock radio didn't work)
I have tried several Android builds and all works as supposed to work.
I have been testing all the Android versions using stock 1.66 WWE (just updated radio) with no problems at all. I have never used a custom WM ROM on my HD2, and have found Android to be on a par with what others have reported. Now running Mattc + Froyo w/Sense 1.6b with no problems so far.
I use stock ROM SVE 1.66 but radio changed to 2.10. I have been testing several builds and they all have worked ok.
The best build for me has been: darkstone HD2Froyo V2.1.
well, i have 1.48 wwe stock rom, never had any issues with any of the android builds...only changed my radio to 2.08.50..
i suggest darkstone's builds..either the hd2froyo or the froyostone series......no issues whatsoever
Yeah maybe it was my combination of radio/build. I'm now using the Mattc Leo Froyo build and the Elegencia ROM and isn't too different from the stock ROM and has most of the apps still installed
No problems running on stock tmoble 1.72 rom just had to update radio to one ending in 50
I’m a newbie at this so apologies if I confuse rather than help.
I bought my HD2 off eBay so don’t know if it’s been flashed or not. I didn’t attempt to flash or change the radio version myself just in case I brick it!! I scared like that
I am currently using ShubCRAFT 1.4d_1GB (hard reset and switched Sense off in WM for quicker boot) and it works perfectly, good battery life and fast .
WM Software details:
OS version: 5.2.2189
Manila version: 2.5.20113626.0
ROM version: Miri HD2 ROM – V4.0 WWE
Radio version: 2.07.50.27_2
To answer your question, and given the above are the standard versions, yes you can run android on ur standard HTC HD2 thanks to the awesome developers.
I am using a windows mobile stock ROM (1.66.405.2) with radio version 2.12.50.02 and mattc leo + froyo w/sense 1.6b Kernel: michyprima 2.6.32.9 #70. I have had no problems with wifi, 3g, sound, or calls. Everything works fine and pretty good battery life and quite stable.

I bucked up the courage to install a new radio after I submitted my post, and in the process realised that it had HardSPL on it already! which one of you sold me your 'touched' HD2!?
So I updated my radio version to 2.12.50.02_2 - yes I'm proud

[Q] From which Winmo rom you running Android build?

Just like to know what is the most popular Winmo rom in the HD2 android fans.
i'm running from Artemis 29.1 WWE with 2.11 radio
Miri's
Miri's v20 no HTC messaging, radio 2.11. this config gets along very good with android.
energy rom, with 2.12 radio version
edit: hyperdroid android version
Thread moved to General
Miri V2 also. I just installed the rom and 2.2 last nit, everything is working fine calls,wifi,3g and appstore. Gps doesn't seem to be working right now, actually keeps saying im in Seattle Washington for some reason but Im not so concerned, not sure if its a ROM issue either way.
Energy's regular rom works well with android for me.

I had an issue where my [brut] google maps was saying I was in the wrong area. There was a setting in the debug area that said "I am in the USA" that was most likely some sort of testing feature. It would spoof your location for testing purposes if a clear view of the sky wasn't available.

[Q] Robot Voice after HSPL, Room Cookie Energy and Radio 2.12

Hello Everyone,
I do not have any experience with HTC HD2 or android, but decided to try, so excuse me for lame questions.
My device is US T-mobile 1024 Flash
I installed HSPL (2.08) for US T-mobile 1024 Flash, Cookie Energy Rom and updated Radio to 2.12 and still have robot voice.
Previously, I had radio 2.10 with robot voice, so that is why I moved to 2.12 version.
I also have dual-boot installed and to make sure that everything goes fine I started windows and then manually executed:CLRCAD.exe and Hareit.exe.
Still robot voice.
Just note, I know that CLRCAD.exe does not do anything visible, but it is not even clear if it was execute.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
I tried searching the forum, but search function is currently down.

what android rom are you running? what kernal are you using.Id say more than not the robotic voice thing is more dependant on the radio and the kernal more so than the rom.
I use energry rom's and I've never had robotic voice. I am also currently using radio 2.14 with shubcraft 1.5 ppp.
I am using the Tmobile 578mb version of theHD2 and after I had went through about three roms I found one that worked for me.
I am using the mattc leo froyo 1.8 and it is working perfectly. (wifi/phone/et all).
hope that helps.

Right now I have
WM Rom Energy Cookie 21916
Radio 2.12.50.02.2
Android: darkstone HD2Froyo V2.1 - Release Date: 17.Aug.2010 - darkstone 2.6.32.9 #36 Kernel:
Before I had different android: mccm v1.5 customize build
Still robot voice.
If you deceide to replay, please state what device you have. My is US T-mobile 1024Flash
Regards,

Tmous with ChuckyDroid & 2.12 radio & no longer get robot voice in any android builds I've tried since (mainly using Bangster's).

It is a very minimal WinMo rom though.
Thank you!
ChuckyDroid and radio 2.12 worked perfectly. No robot voice anymore.
Another problem, GPS does not work. Have to search forum!
Thanks again!

i have tried this radio 2.15.50.14 freeze my hd2 and the first call after reboot cause robotic voice!! Is a problem of EU??
I had major stability issues with every 2.2 Sense based nand rom I tried. Then I installed tytuns gingerbread 2.3 based on the nexus one and have never looked back (current version is 2.5)
You wouldn't know this wasn't an Android phone to be honest. almost everything is prefect, except for laggy HQ video recording that's now been fixed in the new version. Im so content with v2.3 though I won't be upgrading til something major happens!

Are you using a NAND Android ROM or a SD card build? The reason I ask is most NAND Android ROMs work good with the 2.15.50.14 radio, and I have only read reports of the robot voice issue in threads for SD builds. Also if you are using a SD card build and you are still runningvWindows Mobile, ifthe Win Mo ROM is not a 3.14 or a 3.14 based ROM the radio will cause some issues with your HD2 such as frezes and such.
Edit: I looked back at your first post and I think you are running a NAND Android ROM so just disregard some of what I said. But I do recommended changing your ROM I use Hyperdriod check my sig for a link to it.
