Vibrant wifi problems - Vibrant General

Hey guys, newbie user and android owner.
I picked up the vibrant the other day. So far its rooted, android-wifi-tether, and i performed the gps fix on it.
I really like the phone, but whenever I connect to my wifi router, it stops all data (android market, web browser, etc) It says connected and doesn't show any signs of problems. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for any help you can throw my way.

Hmm. Mine has problems with "No Connection" when it's connected to my wireless at home, but I just figured it was my router's fault since my computer gives me the "unable to load web page" thing all the time too. My router sucks, though. Maybe your does too?

Yeah, mine does it sometimes too. I just turn on airplane mode, and turn it back off...works fine after that. Its a hit or miss issue.

Mine works fine running off if my router. Btw, do you actually have the wi-fi tether working? Because I thought we needed a working kernal for that to work.
Feeling Vibrant on xda-app

Yup that did it for me. All I had to do was turn on airplane mode and then turn it back off. Wifi working for me now. Thanks.

Please tell us how you got wifi tethering to work without a custom kernel.

[Q] Wifi stops working

Anyone else experiencing this? I go between wifi for work and home, and wifi stops working when I do. When I go to the wifi settings, it shows Wifi as "scanning" and shows remember wifi networks, but no actual live networks. It pretty much happens every time I go between work and home and a soft reset or manually cycling wifi off and then on fixes it.
I get the same issue when connecting to 5G N network... it tries to connect the disconnects... I usually restart and it works fine...

This sometimes happens on my mt3g. Maybe a froyo issue and not a phone issue.

Wow, I think you may have hit the nail on the head. At home, I am 5ghz N only, and at work, I connect to 5ghz N half the time, and 2.4ghz N the other half.
Where would I submit the bug for this? HTC? I can gather up enough technical data for a good ticket.

Selective Wi-fi

Hello everyone,
I checked the forums and I haven't seen anything like this, but I'm hope my situation isn't unique.
So I got the Nexus 4 and I love it. I have it linked to my wi-fi at home and the campus wi-fi. Every time I got to the college campus it links just fine. However, when I get to the home wi-fi, it sometimes takes a while for the phone to connect to the wi-fi, or say that the wi-fi is out of range.... even when standing next to the router.
I've tried rebooting the router, rebooting the phone. When it connects it's awesome. Sometimes I have to turn off the wi-fi on the N4 then back on again for it to connect.
Does anyone know what this may be? Anything would be great help.
P.S. - everything else works on my wi-fi just fine. A couple Rokus, a notebook, and etc.
Thank you

Nexus 4 has several flaky wifi issues. When I first got mine I could not get it to connect to my home router at all. Then it just started and has been working fine ever since. You may try changing your frequency settings on the router or using a different security protocol. In my case it seems once it got connected the situation was resolved. Good luck!

I tried changing the frequency, seeing that my neighbor was on the band as me. I'm not sure if that did the trick, but now my N4 seems to be picking up the signal a little more quickly.
Thank you for your suggestion.

Same issue here. Sometimes I'm connected to campus wifi, I drive all the way home and look at my phone, it's still trying to connect to campus wifi. I have to turn wifi off then back on for it to disconnect and auto connect to my home wifi.

Wifi problems, yet another one...

Here's my problem, and I've seen many problems with wifi here and on other forums but nothing exactly like this.
When I'm at work, my phone connects to the network over there without any problem but, every time I come home, it simply shows my network as "Not in range", even at 2 feet away from the router (WPA PSK security). I've tried turning wifi off and on, resetting my router, "forgetting" my network on the phone. Nothing does the trick unless, I restart my phone and then it connects automatically and stays connected until I leave.
Something strange I noticed tonight; I went to my son's hockey game and, at the arena, I noticed it still showed as connected to my home network!?!?!!?
I started noticing this issue a few days ago, after flashing the 4.2.2 image from Google. My phone is rooted and is running the latest clockworkmod recovery but otherwise, still stock.
Something else I just noticed; my Nexus 7 doesn't have the same issue...
Anybody else having the same issue? Any hints on what's going on?
I also have this issue. But I had the problem before 4.2.2

Got to work this morning... wouldn't connect to the network here because... It was still connected at home, 40km away. That's a powerful router!
Any clues as to what might be the cause?
What brand/type of wireless router are you using? What type of security?
We gotta be more than 2 with this problem... I've seen so many issues with wifi with this phone on other threads... Weird
Last night I went to my parents and again, my phone wouldn't connect to their home network so, its definitely not my router. So I made a backup of all my apps and returned to 4.2.1 and voila, wifi problems are fixed, for now...

Wifi Issue

So I got the Nexus 7 today from Amazon, did the setup, connected to wifi and had no issues. Very soon after, the Wifi showed it was still connected, but I couldn't update apps, go on the browser, get emails, etc. It looks like the Wifi is connected, but nothing that requires a connection is working. I tried factory resetting, but nothing helped. Has anyone else come across this issue? And ideas on what might be the problem?
Had that same issue. Rebooting my router fixed it for me.
Are you using 5ghz? 2.4?
I've been traveling all week and had no problems with my home 2.4/5ghz Linksys router nor any hotel access points I've used. Seems to work great. So you can't get online at all? No browser, no email, no apps, no play store, etc?
Perhaps you typed your password in wrong. What about router security?
Mine was doing some crazy stuff like that as well.
I rebooted the device and haven't seen that since.

I finally got it to work. All it took was me disconnecting from the Wifi and reconnecting again. Seemed like a weird little glitch, but all is good now. Thanks guys.
even turning on/off wifi multiple times i still get OP error, whos blue wifi icon connetion but i can't do anything online!!! i'll try to reboot nex7
Hello,
