Market vs. Verizon Market - Droid X General

How do I get the regular Android Market on this phone?
The market it comes with has a 'Verizon' tab instead of a 'Downloads' tab.
The 'Downloads' tab is very useful to keep track of updates to installed software.
Found the tab, have to hit menu.

Hit the menu button. Then select the Downloads option.

[Q] I have a market with one app........

I only have one app in my market, it is download-able but none the less its the only thing there. any idears?
Any ideas folks?
So you started doing the Manualnooter 4.5.2 for 1.2
Just continue one with the rest of the steps. Reading further down on the Step-by-step guide you get these instructions.
Market has limited visibility - This is a known tablet issue, not just a NOOKcolor one.

STEPS:
1) Already have your Google Account entered into the table & synced.
Settings=> Accounts & sync => Add your account/Sync your account
2) Run Android Market first by using your desktop icon or the applet grid panel choosing the Market app. When run it should produce a Market with missing apps when you search as is usual.
3) Leave the Android Market program running & tap the Home button to go to the desktop.
Replaces 4-6 = Nook Color Tools => All Settings => Manage Applications
4) Tap the Menu button, then select the Settings option in the bottom bar that pops up.
5) Select the Applications option
6) Select the Manage applications option
7) Select the Running TAB to show all running applications.
8) Scroll down the list until you see Market, then select it.
9) Tap on the Clear cache option button
10) Tap on the Force stop option button. DO NOT tap on the Clear data button here under Market, it will break the process I believe!
11) Tap on the Back button to go back to the entire list of running apps.
12) Scroll the app list up until you see the Google Services Framework app & select it.
13) Tap on the Clear data button here first, then tap on the OK button to confirm the action.
13) Tap on the Force close button now.
14) Now tap on the Back button or use the Home button to go back to the main desktop screen.
15) If you have the Market app on your desktop, then tap on it to run it, or open the dockbar applet panel & run Market from there again.
16) You should get an error box that has "Attention", then states that "An error has occurred. Please try again later."
This is good & what seems should happen if all is going well.
17) Now just hold down the On\Off button & then use the shut down menus to shut down the device normally.
18) Now just turn the device back On normally, let it boot to the desktop ... when you get a working Wifi connection, try Market again ... hopefully if all went as it did for me many times, Market should work fully now & show apps that used to be missing!
Thanks, your awesome!

Change Build.prop to access market?

Hi, on a rooted Xoom I can change the build.prop file so I can acccess the USA market. In that case I would use a verizon 3G Xoom.
Can the same be done with the Tab?
Go to the market and install "market enabler" Just set it up to change your SIM id to that of a carrier in the US... I am from Australia, and this was the only way i could download Pandora.
First step is that you may need to have root for this. For you, no problem, for others reading this... just letting them know
The trick is... you need to download "marketenabler" from Android Market. Before you run it, you need to be connected to wifi. Put the tab into Airplane Mode "ON" (ie: no connections) and then start market enabler. take note of the current gsm.SIM.operatic.numeric id code. (50503 or something like that for who ever is your carrier in case you need to reset it later.) Be sure to press the "Save Current Settings" button for later...
Go to settings list and select T-Mobile or Verizon and hold your finger on the one you want to select. A popup notification will come up asking you to "fake this provider now" or on reboot. Select the NOW option. It will do a few things and when it is finished, you can go back to the "Actual" tab and see the gsm.sim ID has now changed for example to 310260 using T-Mobile settings.
Go back and turn your Wifi on and open Market again... all the goodies you cant have from the US are now available. You may have to sign back into you Google account.
When you are finished, you can either just restart the tab or do everything in reverse order. Turn Airplane Mode ON. open Market enabler, On the "Actual" tab, click on "restore settings". Go back and turn Airplance Mode off again
Done.

[Q] App side load deployment

I'm working on a side project to come up with a proposal for a better way of deploying apps. In a perfect world, a customer would come the a download portal webpage. It would have some text and then provide a "Download" button, which would animate as some form of progress indicator while the apk is downloading. Once done, the button would change to an "Install" button if the "allow non market apps" option is checked. Otherwise we would have a button to "change settings" which would launch the phone/tablet settings page where they could check "allow non market apps". My question is, is any of this possible? Is this possible via javascript? Android activex equivalent? etc?

[Q] Android Market not showing all apps

yesterday i rooted my kindle and installed the android market. however there are some apps that are not shown, for example, angry birds ( the angry birds seasons does show, but the other two doesn't )
i live overseas but use MarketEnabler (the same configuration i have in my nook which currently show all apps)
ï ensured that the lcd density is 160, and also tried the market fix that applied to the nook color (and other tablets):
Choose "Manage Applications" from the list.
Select the "All" tab.
Scroll down to "Market" and select it.
Tap "Force stop".
Tap "Clear cache".
Tap the Back button if you have SoftKeys running, else swipe right to left on the status bar at the bottom of the screen (from the clock to the book icon).
Scroll up to "Google Services Framework" and select it.
Tap "Clear data".
Tap "OK".
Tap "Force stop".
Press the n button to return to your launcher.
Start Market.
At the "An error has occurred" message, tap "OK".
Hold your power button to turn off your NOOK Color from the menu.
Turn your NOOK Color back on and give it a moment to find your WiFi connection.
Start Market again, and the problem is resolved.
but it didnt help
i'm on stock 6.2.1, has anyone had (and solved) this problem
I've noticed random apps missing from the market as well and I am in the US. One example is Google Maps

Not if they are not using CM7, from the OP of that link you provided:
YOU MUST BE RUNNING CM7!
YOU MUST HAVE ROOT!
I WILL NOT SUPPORT STOCK!

Google maps does not show up because the KF does not have the hardware to support its functions.
That doesn't mean you can't side load it, you can, and parts of it will work, but the market only shows you things that you device is listed as capable of.

my internet settings for aren't displayed + no play store my apps tab

Hi everyone I just got the galaxy s4 since my razr hd broke. In chrome i can't access the settings tab to switch to desktop mode or any other options. In the play store i can't see the "my apps" tab. I have to manually update each app by going to the play store on my computer or searching for the app in the play store on my phone. Also i can't uninstall apps from the phone by dragging and dropping into the remove area. I have to either go into the settings or search for it in play store and uninstall it through there.
Just from what I am reading it seems like you used an older version of chrome and play store.
You should have to press the menu key to get to my apps in the play store.
In the newer version of chrome the tabs are up top and the menu is accessed by the menu key. Press the tab number on the right side to access the tabs. To access a desktop view press the menu button and select "Request desktop view” in the menu.
As for removing apps. That was something I had to get used to too.

Ok thank you so much. I didn't know the menu button accesses things like that. On my razr in chrome i had the settings menu beside the tabs and in the app store i could just slide to the right and it would be a "my apps tab". That sucks for removing apps though.
