Slot Cycle - Droid X General

How do I change the slot cycle index on this phone? The ##778 doesn't work and I cant find the option in ##program.

Anyone please?

use QPST. it will get the job done

The phone needs to be rooted to be able to change the slot cycle. Once root access is obtained, edit the ring delay parameter in the system\build.prop. there are others properties in there that might be fun to mess around with.

the ring delay parameter in build.prop makes the phone ring faster when you dial out (make a call)

Oh. can you link me then to how do to this on my X? And do you have the link for the drivers for the X or 2(was told they should work) for windows 7(32bit) plz.

here's the drivers http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Support/Experiences/Global_Drivers/USB_Drivers_bit_4.7.1.zip

which ever one is suppose to allow you to answer calls earlier.

if you're refering to slot cycle index, follow steps here http://thewindows7site.com/forum/threads/19170-Diagnostic-Mode-for-Droid-X
then you'll be able to use QPST to change the slot cycle index.
Be careful using QPST. It accesses the NVRAM settings of your phone so if you change the wrong thing, you can mess your phone up

Changing Icon & Font Size

So I followed the steps here and my icons look so big and beautiful only problem is whenever I use anything but the default 240 size the dialer crashes and cannot be used whatsoever, anyone know how to fix this????
"use root explorer and edit /system/build.prop
find:
Quote:
ro.sf.lcd_density=240
Change the 240 to 260 (or something else), save the file, and reboot the phone
A Higher # will make everything BIGGER, including icons, fonts, etc
A lower # will make everything smaller"
Please somebody. Has anybody done this edit before??? Thanks
there must be another setting to change to get the Dialer to work. i tried 248 and 275 (listed in the build.prop file) and it didn't work for me either. on my other android devices, i would simply find a font file and rename to DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf and then copy to /system/fonts/. i tried this on my first Atrix and it went into a continuous boot loop. i had to exchange for another device. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!

The Atrix checks and rechecks all files on every boot so this will brick your phone if the files dont match

yep! i can testify to that, lol! makes me appreciate the ease of root and customization for my Nexus One (will never give it up!) and my wife's Inspire4G. i'd also like to punt this MotoBlah crap! i'm using Enhanced Email and the Blah contacts app is disabling my ability to select accounts i want to use to add new contacts...
not holding my breath on this, but i hope Moto makes good to unlock the bootloader and allow us to customize our devices.

Well the only thing i can see so far that has been negatively affected is the dialer. Everything else works fine.
With the higher resolution the icons have shrunk and to me look a little disproportionate on the ATRIX. This makes it look really nice and well spaced.

[Q] G Sensor Calibration in 2.3

So, I'm running MDJ's CM7 2.6. I've fixed almost any issue I've had. But there's something really annoying me, my g sensor has a small offset. And as far as I know there is no built in calibration tool. I've tried some I found in the market, but those didn't work, still an offset. I was reading a lot and found AngelDeath's thread about a possible fix. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902129
But this is only for Froyo. So I was asking myself if there is any possible solution for Gingerbread?
And if possible, would you mind to add your AK8973Prms.txt? It can be found under /data/misc. Maybe this is a possible solution..
Edit: Please only if you have 2.3
Thx anyway
Cheers
The g-sensor from what I know has been fixed since I posted about the fix, the first question I have for you is what kernel are you using? I know that MDJ had removed the calibration setting from most of his roms, I dont know if this rom he did also, but when you say there is a offset, can you explain what type of offset and also if you compensated for the slight angle that the phone has due to the camera?
Frm what I read in another thread, the ak8973prms.txt values can be altered, and saved. also you can delete this file and upon reboot I believe it gets recreated..Also did you happen to backup your bma150_usr file and try adding mine in place? Or is that whats giving you the small offset?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803242
This thread has info about the offset. It's a little old but offset adjustment still works. (freeze was fixed in kernel)

Thanks for your reply
I'm using the stock MDJ 10.4. And he did, I'm pretty sure.
Well when I am playing for example doodle jump I have to tilt my phone to the right, right side to the floor (not very easy to explain, hope you know what I mean ) otherwise, if I hold my phone normal this doodle thing always jump to the left. It's not very much, but it is annoying..
Yes, that was already told somewhere, but in fact i dunno what values should be in there. It gets recreated, but if I am not wrong it will be wrong again.
Haha, I've read your thread, my problem is that such a file doesn't even exist, so I was not sure if I it is a good idea to just copy it in there.

Thanks anyway
Obviously you would know this but if your phone isnt rooted I dont think you will see it, its located in data/misc
Here is the contents of my file, unzip it and use a root explorer and go to data/misc and drop this in, let me know if it works, if not I have another idea for you Guaranteed to work

Download GPS Status from Market (Its free), hit the home key then tools then pick calibrate pitch and roll. See what that does for you.

I gave up, even your second idea didn't work. I think I have to live with this annoying offset. I could try to change the kernel, but afaik that's no good idea, because everytime it was working like it should I changed something and boom, eveything was f***ed up again
But thanks for your help mate
Hi,
Have you found a solution to this, or am I too late? I seem to be having the same problem on an otherwise fast and stable build. I'm using TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 v3.7.0
For the info, the parameters and some values in the said file are completely different, so I don't know if I should replace them.
Thanks,
jk

Possible easy way to unthrottle data, but need help

When I was attempting to enable sideloading with root explorer and sqlight I noticed something in the data/data/android.providers.settings(or something like that)/dbsettings.db( copy and paste this to sd card, then open with sqlight). Then after opened tap on secure. Then I noticed here there is about 3 throttle settings 1 was throttle threshold and then 2 more something like throttle minimal or throttle maximum. My question is can we change these values to if not disable throttling just make it not a concern( like raise threshold to where it wont be crossed,if that's how it works)? And also how to get it to stick without sending your phone into a boot loop? That's what happened to mine when I tried to enable sideloading but I know it can be done because I've seen tutorials and people who have done it as well as many other things on phone w/ root explorer.
P.S. Not a noon but by no means a pro so go easy on me if this is beyond dumb question.

Sorry bro but on the mobile app this is a big paragraph. Hard to read.
Can you summarize what you're saying?
what carrier do you have that throttles?

The unfortunate T-mobile/Throttle mobile.
Throttle is performed on carrier side. You should check this link, I know it's a different device, but it should explain the point quite nicely.

[Q] How to remove the CELL STANDBY without using ADB???

Is it possible? Can it be done without having to learn how to install and use ADB? And is it true that it lengthens battery life for the nook??? Thanks in advance!

Uninstall with titanium telephony.apk and phone.apk, in that order. You will get FC and just reboot then and you will be okay. Does it save battery life? That is up to speculation and probably not. Root explored can be used also to do it. Just delete these two files.

This is the correct answer.
I can't believe no one is being the voice of reason here.
Don't bother! It doesn't do anything for you.

It makes no difference, placebo at most.

Many times in life there is more than one correct answer. This is one of those times. Please keep that in mind the next time you choose to provide input.
it does not do anything but to free up some internal memory and give you more to run other apps..removing non needed crap that runs does do something....Drm apk..cmstats...setup...and many more items that are loaded that are not needed gives a healthy dose of memory back and general CPU efficiency

The correct answer for one person may not be correct for another...you were rather harsh on him...let me get this straight...I gotta turn on airplane mode every time I start my nook and turn it off versus just turning it on and playing with it? Does not seem very practical now....imh..but then I dont disagree with the idea...I mean why load a program when you don't really need it?

The app I posted it is something that can be turned on once and will set airplane mode for cell while allowing wifi and bluetooth to function as normal however you want them set, even on a reboot.
It has been proven that many times removing cell (or other main) features can affect the ability to use other applications. My solution was clean, simple, and would affect nothing negatively. BTW, I was using it to avoid the wifi dropping issues that some have seen periodically since CM was first put on the NC. So in my case, it has been providing more than one useful capability.
I feel that people should open up their mind and follow up on other ideas before narrowing their and others minds to only one solution....

The correct answer would be to learn ADB, install the drives and do it manually.

I'd just like to ask folks not to remove CMStats. Its obviously your prerogative but it helps CM developers track usage. This isn't just for bragging rights. These numbers help us in talks with OEMs to quantify the importance of things like open bootloaders and such. We are starting to see OEMs cooperate with CM and I think tracking usage has helped.
CMStats is not invasive and doesn't hog memory or CPU cycles. It is open source so you can feel free to verify my claims.

Limit the battery voltage on Galaxy S8

I am searching about how to limit the battery voltage to increase the timelife of battery, someone know here what file controls it on Galaxy S8 and a method to make it work just on boot time?

either use a weaker charging block not the fast charger or find the option in battery settings to shut off fast charge
But you know about the file that control it? Some smartphones use /sys/class/power_supply/battery/voltage_max.

You can use a Magisk module for that. What it actually does is to change "charging_enabled" (or similar) to 0 when it reaches the desired load percentage (aka certain voltage)
It is called Magic Charging Switch (mcs), though it may be not compatible with your device. Give it a try

Dont think so, depends on the device. In my case, I tried to do the same with a Nexus 7 2013, but was impossible...
Try looking for any of the files in /sys/class/power_supply
