Skype performance.

Hi everyone, I am currently trying to decide between an HTC Wizard or Hermes. One of the major things that needs to work is Skype. I know the new beta of Skype I know it runs much better on the Wizard compared to the older skype, will I have any troubles at all going with the Wizard? Are there people that routinely use Skype on their Wizard? I am quite comfortable with tweaking and overclocking, but would prefer that it works well without having to overclock.
Thanks!
I use it on mine and without tweaks (the tweaks I mentioned before should work but is no longer needed). I don't overclock but I do make sure the wifi link is decent first though.
Having said that I never had the option of hermes...I think I might actually prefer it...CPU and camera...did I mention 3G and also a win key and ok key on the front?
Thanks for the info. I would love to get the Hermes too, but it is a matter of money and my lack of it.
My advice: save up your money till the new HTC Kaiser (aka HTC P4550) comes out...if you buy the Hermes now, you will be willing the Kaiser in a couple of months...

I'm using the HTC Wizard. with the new Faria Crossbow WM6 it works very well, Skype works fine too.
I don't like the design of the Hermes...but the Kaiser looks very good!
HI
I am using Skype on Wizad100 for last 2 months..
it works cool ...
thanks to skype..

Competition for the Kaiser?

OK, it's not strictly Hermes related and so shouldn't necessarily be in this forum, but was the closest I could think of
Like many here I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Kaiser to replace my aging but trusty Hermes. It seems to fit the bill perfectly but that could be because it's the only device that has everything I want. Or is it? Are there other devices on the way that I don't know about with the following?
GPS
3G
Wifi
qwerty keyboard
wm6
Lee.
Scratch WM6 from the list then Nokia's E90 has the rest and some more!

Yes, but the HTC Haiser (HTC P4550) don't have infra-red connection. It is its only "defect".

Its about time they kill the IR... it doesnt have much use these days anyway, especially since HTC havent made them very powerful lately... but thats my opinion
google for the Imate ultimate 7150. No GPS, but the 3.5" VGA screen & 18mm thickness might make up for that.
I looked at the Ultimate 7150 but decided that it's too wide for me - I wanted something smaller than my old Motorola A925 in every dimension!
A colleague at work is deciding between the Ultimate 8150 and Kaiser - The Kaiser won out today and now he's just waiting for it to become available.
It was the keyboard that swayed him in the end.
Cheers, Oggy.

Can someone do it

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi to all here you have done a wonderfull job so far. What i was wondering is it possible i saw it gsmarena site that the new htc hero is much like iphone the photos or galery and the internet browser are made multitouch. Is it possible somehow to get the drivers of the screen from hero and to make the hd as well multitouch like hero. I know that it is a very hard work and i know how the multitouch works i mean i understand very good i just am not that good a programer to make it my self. But since hd and others like daimond 2 and touch pro 2 and the hero are alike in almost everything hardware wise i was just wondering if it possible. I know that hero useses android linux and the broweser should be chromo and suports multitouch maybe some programer can make it work in Windows mobile as well.
I havent tested this but here is something that works in multitouch
Morphgear 2.4.0.9 WVGA gamepad with Multi-Touch support

[Q] Exchange/ActiveSync (EAS) Support in 2.2?

Hi Everyone,
I'm litterally thinking about getting a Streak in the next day or so off eBay, but I've been holding off until Froyo was available. Now that Froyo is officially here (for some) can someone confirm how well the native Exchange/ActiveSync service is running, I have Desire ATM, which works just fine so I'm hoping it will be a nice and easy transition (yeah right! Lol) if I were to get the 5" beauty.
TIA

HTC Super tool

Pretty cool.

Very interesting.
Any better than our current methods?
works great
The HTC Supertool works fantastic, just used on my daughters EVO and it worked great and was very simple. I used the (un revoked) method on my EVO several months ago but the Supertool is much easier and faster
