Launcher Pro Beta shows contact icon as not installed application? - Vibrant General

I just put launcher pro beta on my Vibrant and really liked it except the icon for the contacts (the little guy head) shows application not installed. Any way to fix this?
Thanks

Hold down the contact icon, this brings up the shortcut menu.
Select Applications > Contacts.
Next time you press it you will be given the icon option, select LauncherPro > Contacts.

thank yall
1. Open your Applications launcher
2. Tap the Menu button and select View Type->Customizable Grid
3. Tap the Menu button again and select Edit
4. Drag the ChompSMS icon over the Messaging icon. You should see a "swapping" animation as the icons rearrange themselves.
I am trying to get this to be a sticky, for this very reason. Good question, but its been answered a lot:

Yes, you can get to the app by holding the Home softkey, but the widget your talking about is part of TouchWiz and can not be used within other launchers. Unless one of the Dev's can figure out a way to mod it.
to get as a widget long press empty space and select shortcut, then select activities, then task manager and select the first one. you can also get it as a short cut in the doc tray at bottom (the 4 icons next to the app drawer button) by long pressing and selecting change shortcut, select activities, scroll down to and select task manager, and select the first one. icon isn't the same but takes you to the same place ur trying to get to. this is the only way i have figured out so far.

Create GPSSetup2 Shortcut on Homescreen (Needs Launcher Pro)

Guide to create GPSSetup2 shortcut on the homescreen. First you'll have to download and install the homescreen and launcher replacement LauncherPro (Attached, link at the bottom). Then, follow these steps.
1. Press the center key on the phone. You'll get two options on the screen: 'LauncherPro' and 'TwLauncher'. Select LauncherPro. Let LauncherPro load.
2. Now again press the center key and this time select TwLauncher.
3. After it loads, press and hold your finger on an empty spot on the screen.
4. In the list that pops out, select Shortcuts.
5. Then select Activities.
6. After a few seconds you'll get a long list of Applications. Scroll down to GPSSetup2. Touch GPSSetup2, it'll expand to show more options. From this expanded list, select the first option i.e GPSSetup2 (com.sec.android.app.GPSSetup2.GpsSetup).
7. That's it. You'll now have a shortcut to GpsSetup2 on the homescreen.
8. After this is done, simply go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications and uninstall Launcher Pro if you don't want to use it.
9. If you do want to use it, press the center key, tick 'Use by default for this action', then press 'LauncherPro' (Much better than the Samsung Launcher and homescreen, except for the less colorful icons).
That's it. No need to enter that long code anymore to enter GPSSetup2 everytime..
Alternate Method: (By stubborn_d0nkey)
1. Download and install any cut (only 31 kb) from the market
2. Long press on a home screenc
3. Choose shortcuts->any cut->activity
4. scroll down to gpssetup2 and click on it
5. Click ok (change the name if you want to)
6. there ya go
if you wish you can uninstall (settings->applications->manage applications-> any cut and press unistall) and the shortcut will stay.
but it is only 31kb and it might be useful sometime in the future

I'm using activities in LaunchPro - that's very usefull also for switching APNs (exchange/google) but I haven't found any manual for gpsSetup2 (what each option is good for)
Alternate:
1. Download and install any cut (only 31 kb) from the market
2. Long press on a home screenc
3. Choose shortcuts->any cut->activity
4. scroll down to gpssetup2 and click on it

GPSSetup as (favorite) contact
Why not just set the USSN Code of GPSSetup as phone contact?
Type the numbers, save them once and "call" them any time you need GPS. So theres no need to install additional apps

Yeah, you are right, but there are more steps involved in selecting the saved contact and then calling to run it, unless you have a widget to store a direct link to call the contact on the homescreen. Creating the shortcut, although more complicated at first, is a much faster way later to access it.

Quick Short cut menu for 3g/WiFi/Airplane mode without widget

Hi Guys,
I am not sure if you are already aware of this, but I found one quick way to access the activity for quickly enabling/disabling 3G/WiFi/Bluetooth/Airplane mode on Dell Streak using ADW Launcher icon. Here are the steps
1. On ADW Launcher desktop, long tap to add shortcut
2. Select Custom Shortcut.
3. On the next popup, tap on Pick your activity
4. On next screen, select Activites
5. On the next screen, scroll down to Settings(lot of scrolling)
6. Expand Settings
7.Select 'Wireless & networks(.StatusSettings)'
8. Change name to something you want and tap OK on the Custom Shortcut popup
9.You are done. Now whenever you tap on the icon, you will see old Dell Streak 1.6 kind of popup to quickly change various settings.
I am using Dell Streak with official 318 froyo.
Cheers,
Sandesh
Also works with LauncherPro
Thanks Sandesh,
I can confirm that it also works with LauncherPro perfectly!
I really miss the quick tap to turn on these functions before 2.2 - now we can have the best of both worlds
Thanks again for the tip!
Nice find. There are a lot of interesting things in the activities list.
Launcher Pro can also create shortcuts to activities. It's under the shortcuts menu when you long press on a screen.

You can delete apps by:
Long Press On App

The contcet problem is in every rom...Me too cant go back frm the contact by pressing back button...
