Touchwiz - Changing Messaging Shortcut at the bottom - Vibrant General

Hey guys, I'm trying to give Touchwiz a chance before I inevitably switch to Launcher Pro or ADW. I'm using Handcent for SMS and wanted to know if anyone's found a way to change the Messaging shortcut at the bottom that's built into Touchwiz. I'd just like to get it to point to Handcent instead of the default messaging app.

menu > edit > customization.
open app drawer... long press handcent... move to bottom drawer and replace messanger.
you can then swith back to whatever view you prefer.

Ahhh i see..you have to have Customizable Grid selected as the View Type in order to do what u said. I was on the default Alphabetical grid.
Thanks!

Way to make launcher shortcut in launcher?

I'm using SlideScreen and I love it. The only problem I have is getting back to the original home screen to access my power widget. I have to either
a) change the wifi/bluetooth/GPS settings manually or
b) goto app settings -> manage apps -> slidescreen -> clear defaults
Anycut failed to make a shortcut to "launcher" in the launcher. It only makes it a shortcut on the homescreen. Is there a way to make an icon for launcher/home in the actual launcher??? Or is there an app that is like the power widget that I can install?
Thanks in advance

Modifying Default App Shortcuts in launcher

I'm really curious to know how I can change the default 4 app shortcuts in the launcher.
The ones I'm talking about is the Phone, Messaging, Contacts, etc
I have my phone rooted, the works.
For the life of me I've played with the phone all weekend and looked online and can't seem to find a damn thing.
Thanks for any help you good folks can provide, and I look forward to some fantastic ROMS from the community!
Push applications button > menu > select customizable grid
Push menu > edit
You can drag icons from the app drawer to the bottom, but you can only change 2 of the 4.
best way IMO is to use a different launcher
launcher pro and ADWL Launcher are both excellent and worth a try.

[Q] launcherpro messege button default

I can't change the launcherpro message button default. I want to use handcent sms but I don't know how to set it up. I have check the default messaging app and the clear default button is greyed out as well as the hendcent. help me.
First off, you want to hold the message icon on your screen for a few seconds, a prompt should pop up asking what you want to do. Tap change shortcut, then applications and scroll down to the messaging app you want to use and select it. It should then ask you what icon you want to use, default, Launcher Pro icon or custom. Depending on what you want you can change it. Tada, you're done.
On a side note, if you want more launcher pro icons, download launcher pri icons format the market or google launcher pro custom icons.

App menu changes?

Is there a way to put the apps in individual folders INSIDE of the app menu? Can I change the way it scrolls? I've seen some galaxy s phones scroll top to bottom, not on individual pages. Within touchwiz too. Just trying to see whats out there.
GO Launcher has folders in the app menu.
Rockin' DJ05, Minimal Icognito, Clocked at 1.3Ghz
to the question about changing the way the app drawer scrolls... yes you can , just open up the app drawer and press the menu button. there you should see two options edit and list view ,just clock list view and itll change your items listed vertically scrolling up and down as opposed to the left and right horizontally defaulted to...if you wanna go back just do same thing but instead of list view itll say grid view just click that and youre golden. hope that helps
I don't think TouchWiz' List View is what you actually want. To get stock Android-style app drawer scrolling, you need to download another launcher entirely. ADW Launcher and LauncherPro are by far the best ones available.
With ADW you can choose between the TouchWiz/iPhone-style scrolling and Android-style; LauncherPro only does Android-style. Other than that they each are fantastic in their own right, with tons of customization options. And if you choose to pay for a premium version of either one, LauncherPro gives you some awesome widgets while ADW EX gives some awesome new 3D homescreen scrolling and customization options.

[Q] Sense 3 Dock in Launcher Pro

I really like the Sense 3 dock but hate the non smooth scrolling of the app drawer. As an alternative I want to use this .png file as the image for my dock using Launcher Pro but haven't got a clue to apply it to the launcher.
Anyone know how, please?
On Launcher Pro:
1) set the dock background to the pic:
Menu Button > preferences > appearance settings > dock background
then you have to set each shortcut on the dock (there are 5 shortcuts, so set the 2nd and 4th to "none" to avoid accidental presses on them). The other three you have to get a blank png and set that as the pic for each, and set the shortcut accordingly (e.g app drawer on the 1st, phone in 3rd)
