Tips for fingerprints? - HTC Aria General

I'm loving my new Aria, but the fingerprint smudges are getting on my nerves. Any good tips to keep the screen clear?

Best buy has invisiscreen screen protectors now. They are like the body guardz. Tell them their listed for the "intruder" phone. No full body coverage but just screen. They are the best you can get for scratch protection.

Buy a microfiber cloth. They remove all fingerprint oil in a single swipe. Other than that, just wash your hands after you touch food or other nasties. It's possible that some screen protectors might show oil less, but I prefer a nude screen.

Thanks guys. I'll try out the screen protector and try to keep my hands clean too and see how it goes

G2 "vision" scratch resistant?

Just wondeering if the Tmobile G2 "Vision" is scratch resistant.
A couple people have tried with keys and said it was fine.
HA!
Scratch resistant my rear! SCREEN PROTECTORS! Common sense should tell ya, you need them... My .02
My Vibrant is supposed to have Gorilla Glass which is probably the most scratch-resistant glass you can get on a device. But you know what? I still use a screen protector. If you get a good one and apply it properly, you won't even be able to notice it's there. And they're cheap so why not?
I already have screen protectors and a case sitting at my house so I'm ready for when my G2 comes in the mail.
I'm getting one cause I hate the glass feels and the way it smears. I'll be getting a zagg invishield

i'll try to scratch one of the store demos and see if it is scratch resistance...

So you prefer the feel of a rubbery orange peel to smooth glass? Those Zagg screen protectors are awful IMHO. I'm sure they do a great job of protecting the screen, however.

I love the feel of zagg shields and they reduce the smear affect. To me it feels grippy and protected I really really dislike wiping my screen off multi times a day. And yes they do a wonderful job of protecting the screen.

Not scratch resistant by any means. I have my phone in my pocket w/o keys or change and the screen has lots of scratches.

I have been getting more no's than yes'es lol. I need more opinions bfr I conclude.

Is any phone really scratch resistant? Its usually a coating that goes away in a matter of a week depending on how much you use it. I would at least get a cheap screen guard to be safe.

You will definitely eventually get scratches if you don't use a screen protector.
Ive taken Keys and Razor Blades to mine and nothing. So id say yes but if u arent carful im sure u can scratch the crap out of it hehe
Are Zagg screen protectors anti-glare?
lets just say its not made of sapphire crystal or diamond.
I'm getting the zagg max coverage. I choose to err on the side of caution when it comes to the screen and I really like the brushed metal accents and want to protect them from scratches as well. I'm pretty sure keys etc will leave a lasting impression. I personally don't like the added bulk of snap-on cases.

I grabbed the over priced anti smear t-mobile ones.. ($14.99) for 2.
They seem to be protecting fine, hiding finger prints great, and not coming off... but it hasn't been that long.
Just in case
If you decide to buy a screen protector from ZAGG, use the promo code 50sport to get 50% off.

The T-Mobile screen protectors seem to use the same material and adhesive as the off-brand ones I used on my G1. Those held up really well for me. I only replaced the protector once in about 1.5 years and the second one was still going strong when my G1 got relegated to yet-another-backup-phone in the junk drawer.
Its true eventually scratches will magically appear "they really do" So i decided to get a protector and since i never had protectors for my phone i would like one or two advices of which ones would be the best option.

Is screen protector needed?

Does. The tab really need an screen protector?
Or is the gorilla glass tuff enuff? Did anyone get scratches to your GT screen? Without dropping it onto gravel or anything else extreme....

Have you need seen videos of gorilla glass?
I dont have a protector. I dont think it needs one with that glass. There was a video of someone shooting a BB gun at the screen and it didnt make a scratch.
Leave it off!
I did see the video, but im still conserned about getting scratches (on the GT ;-) from girfriends finger nails or something else really stupid....

No you dont need it... Try with some metal, nails whatever... Glass is harder than steal so it canot be scratched... (with some normal use afcourse).
Have only had it for about a week, but haven't had a screen protector on it. It's been in and out of my purse and work bag ... not a single scratch.

Played with a Tab at BB yesterday and it had a big scratch near the front camera. So it can definitely scratch.
Better safe than sorry!
A small particle of sand will leave a decent scratch. I always protect the screen, if not a scratch is bound to show up some day.
I like to touch directly to the glass.
So I leave the screen protector..
I use a screen protector, not to protect the screen but to eliminate the fingerprints problem

my first tab before it broke had a scratch on the screen within a week (god knows how)
so the new one had a screen protector put on it straight away, they are scratch resistant not proof, same as the galaxy S and my S also has scratches on it.
its better than normal plastic/glass but they do scratch fairly easy!
no need for one. If you drop it on the floor it might crack, but it will do that if you have a screen protector too.
i dont have screen protector on mine, no scratch..yet.
Sounds like its an draw....

I use the zagg invisible shield. it looks good and is pretty tough. application is retarded tho
I got a screen protector from ebay, extreme screen or something, exacatly the same feel of the zagg, but a lot cheaper, is nice an clear works great.
I have a screen protector on mine just in case lol. But from what I've been told we shouldn't need one... I'm half tempted to remove it. Screen looks so much nicer without it, unless that's just my screen protector that makes it look kinda dull and darker.

lol yeah zagg cost me like 45 bucks

Best screen protector

I'm going back into consruction so I need a new screen protector. What's the best one that doesn't hamper touch sensitivity and screen brilliance?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
The gorrilla glass it came with. I used to do the screen + body skins but as long as you keep one pocket just for the phone, it'd be pretty hard to scratch it. Been discussed multiple times...

Realook, available on Amazon. Takes scratches like a champ, is invisible, easy to clean and allows all touches to be equally sensitive as before install.
www.stealthguards.com/
I ordered 2.. They are free with you just paying shipping and rival Zagg, and I think they are better. Try it out. You cannot lose with 2 for $5\
EDIT: Plus they are full body protectors.
have had the Zagg InvisibleShield from day one...
no warped colors and still keeps the same brightness as without....
+1 on the realook.
Its hard plastic not soft like the Zagg and most other screen protectors.

There's actually a thread about this already in the Accessories sub-forum.
But anyway, Ghost Armor is what I use, and compared to the Invisible Shield that's on my brother's Epic, mine is more slick (less plastic-like and less gooey) and overall a great looking screen protector. Plus the fingerprints are way easy to wipe off, which is what annoyed me with the plain Gorilla Glass, which by itself is already very scratch-resistant but prone to fingerprints.
i know theres already a thread... but
I like the realook 11 bucks for 2 of them... run a hot shower in bathroon, then go in there and clean screen then apply. Bearlt know its there and has a natural feel/look , ive had the same one on for over 6 months now and its still hanging in there.... getting a bit scratched now but not bad enough for me to pull it. I tried a zagg one and hated it. Gorilla glass does hold up great but sand will still scratch it... i have a micro scratch from a grain of sand that was in my pocket from river fishing in the summer...... that was my turning point to go and get a protector.
just my 2cents

Another one for realook...i usually hatescreen protectors but this one passes for me and doesn't detract from the feel if the screen much.

[Q] OMG FINGERPRINTS!!!!1111one

So I have been pretty much just living with the fingerprints on my Hero since there was no other method of input on it but now that I have the Shift, the fingerprints on the touchscreen are driving me crazy. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good screen protector that doesn't show prints?
I'm worried that my constant wiping of the screen will prematurely scratch it.
I use a zagg protector, its not bad. You will get fingerprints but I don't think they're that noticeable. Of course eating chips and touching the phone is probably always going to leave a fingerprint but otherwise I recommend zagg
Sent from your Mom's Jitterbug
I haven't tried it but I saw someone say they apply Rain-X to the screen periodically and makes wiping the prints off easy.
^ Shift Faced
I use lens cleaning wipe on my anti glare screen protector periodically. Can't really see fingerprints. But the pores do happen to absorb oil..
Evo SHIFT
i hate fingerprints too, i use the anti glare screen protector that comes in the 3 pack from sprint, 2 regular and 1 no glare and i love the no glare one, although it kinda washes out the screen its very worth the no fingerprints
I like the screen protector I got from Zagg. Little hard to get used to at first, cause it's kind of feels funny. But it seems to keep glare down, and definately no fingerprints.
If you do get the Zagg I wouldnt plan on having a case. Over time the case will lift up the corners of the shield and it will start peeling off.

Fwiw ive used mine since January with no protection and no scratches on the screen. If it gets smudges I just wipe it on my shirt.

Or pants, or jacket, or gloves.... (speaking of gloves, with winter on the way, any decent touchscreen gloves out there?)

I've used a Skinomi(skinomi.com) protector on both of my Shifts, and rarely notice fingerprints (it does smudge, but not badly). It does have a mild "orange peel" effect if you look at it from the side with the screen off, but it does not affect the direct viewing angle, and there is little discernible texture.
The nice thing is that they are guaranteed not to scratch, so I don't have to futz with it.

Yeah I also notice the no glare protector kinda dulls the screen. I took it off and it looked more vibrant. I ended up switching to a regular screen protector.
Has anyone tried the mirror one? Is it worth it?
Evo SHIFT
I use a silicon based liquid wax that has NO ABRASIVES . Apply it once a month, fingerprints wipe off easily and your finger slides across the screen easy.

Don't spend money on touchscreen gloves, just take your favorite pair of gloves and sew a couple loops of conductive thread (available in many places online) into the fingertips.

[Q] Nexus 4 screen protectors

Hi every1,
I purchased my Google Nexus 4 one month back and it came with the lg screen guard or whatever you say it. Now I want to use a screen protector which is not glossy, maybe a matte finish and the most important thing is that it should be fingerprint resistant. Kindly suggest me the best screen protector in this category..
I always use Skinomi which is a thick and healing type of screen protector. It does pick up skin oil if you're oily, but you won't be able to see finger prints. I do like how it's nonreflective properties. Only down side is it's wet applied so you need to be careful to not give the phone water damage when installing it. I use this brand since they bundle 3M adhesive skin for the device as well.
Or you can go with tempered glass which put another layer of glass over the screen. XGear and iloome are two brands that does this.
I also heard good things about Spigan which is a dry applied kind.

Thanks buddy..
Wats your take on dry protectors. Is there something good in the market??
I just edited my post and give you a few more brands, check them out.
Erica Griffin on YouTube put up a few videos reviewing screen protectors that you can check out.
Also check out the accessories section, there are a ton of threads on this topic there.
