Market doesn't have a record of apps after wipe - Nexus One General

For some reason the market doesn't have a record of applications I purchased when I do a factory reset. I've tried it on various ROMs from the newest CM6 RC1 to the stock 2.2 for the nexus one. It seems like an issue with the market itself, or with my account. Not with a particular ROM/OS.
I sign into my Google account (The one I use for Checkout and the Market), under the downloads tab the only one listed is Google Maps. If I search for an application I've purchased before (Like SetCPU) it wants me to buy it again. I tried and can confirm that it WILL actually charge me a second time.
I am looking at my google checkout account now and can see that it clearly let me purchase the same application twice...
Does anyone have any ideas? Odly enough if I do a nandroid restore all of my apps work fine. I can uninstall, and re-download without paying. But the problem is eventually I am going to have to do a wipe. The crappy thing is Google doesn't have any formal 'support' for the market. And I am certainly not going to repurchase hundreds of dollars of apps..

I've had no issues. I had a G1 since day 1 bought tons of apps. Stopped using Android, 10 months later got a Nexus One, signed in and they're all there (purchased apps).
Flashed various builds of froyo, used cyanogmen 5.08, now 6 RC1, still no issues with purchased app history.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see read properly, you were referring to paid apps... they should always show up!

After a wipe, when you've signed in, instead of going to the Market to check for your apps, set the phone down for 15 mins or so.
Apparently firing up the Market interrupts the process.

No luck with that. I've also just tried waiting about 24 hours or so and still nothing.

I have this same issue and had to purchase a couple of apps twice. One developer was kind enough to refund for the second purchase. The second developer has basically ignored my requests. It really pisses me off...
I have tried to contact the Google Checkout team, but you may as well be sending postcards to the moon...they are not helpful.

Seriously? I have 36 Paid application on my checkout. Thats sucks.

I know it is probably obvious question... but did you sign in to the same Google account from which you purchased them?

Yep, correct account and everything.

1. You should sign in with you account you bought the apps.
2. To check this you can sign in to google check out and check if apps exists.
3. Try to buy apps that you already paid, it should just download and doesn't take money from you.

Have you tried going to the application manager and clearing the Market Data and Cache?

Like I said, it doesn't just download the application. It acts as though it has no record. And yes it is the right Checkout account. It requires me to repurchase them.

Yep! I've also tried deleting my Billing Address and CC# out of checkout, and even changing my password hoping it will help "resync" things... Nothing Works.
I've just E-Mailed all developers. In under an hour I have had about 10 or so of them refund me, repurchased promptly after, even if the application was more than what I originally purchased it for, I want to support the developers. A few developers said that quite a few people have had this issue. I don't expect to get all refunded, but so far I am impressed with the support from them.
Google has to fix this issue, they should be required to have additional support other than a "Help Forum" that doesn't guarantee any response for the market. They get 30% of the income, they're taking in money from this, it is inexcusable that they will screw over their customers and their developers who are put in charge of making a call for Google's screw up.

I'll add my experience as well..
1. You should sign in with you account you bought the apps.
Check
2. To check this you can sign in to google check out and check if apps exists.
Check...and they are visible in the Checkout account
3. Try to buy apps that you already paid, it should just download and doesn't take money from you.
Negative. As I mentioned earlier...it only allows me to purchase...no downloads.
I had to factory reset my phone which is how I ended up in that sorry position. I fully expected to be able to download the apps again since the phone was tied into the same account.
One of the responses I received from Google Checkout was "You will not be charged for apps twice"...guess what? I was.

I am experiencing something similar on my account. After a wipe I do see the list of apps that I've purchased, but I no longer see a list of the apps I've previously downloaded and there is no automatic downloading of apps after first sign-in anymore either.

Heh, thats a step more than what I could get. Literally the market said I had Zero applications installed ever.
With the applications I did repurchase I tested it, Installed two or three, wiped, logged in again. And worked like it was supposed to after repurchasing them. Confirms it for me that something isn't right on Google's end.

do you skip first then sign in after words? I found that it only does automatic app restore if you set it up during setup...sadly for most Roms this means you must use carrier data, for Cyanogen roms I found a way to do this over Wifi...first install just the Cyanogen pack (no Gapps) turn on wifi, let it connect, then go into recovery flash the Gapps, then come back and do the setup...the apps should restore as if you signed up using carrier data.
But yea, you can't skip the setup process.

I did try it both at setup and after the fact. Neither worked.
I haven't tried flashing the rom, starting up, then flashing the Gapps. Depending on the response I get about the refunds I may or may not try that. Can you explain to me what exactly carrier data is?

that's a very weird problem and sadly sounds personal-ish to me...I've flashed roms like it was my job since the G1 days and never ever had this issue..and I've had 3 phones, 2 carriers, had a random weird thing happen with my phone and this one game that recognizes who u are to keep ur accounts, etc...and all paid apps always showed up (and auto app restore as well, well since N1)...
I really hope you fix this issue

There are many apps out there that will back up your apps. ASTRO file manager (free and excellent) can back up apps. It creates a folder on your sdcard titled backups/apps and puts an apk there for each app you backup. If I were you, I'd do a nandroid, backup all of my apps, do your factory reset or flash your rom, install astro, then navigate to backups/apps and reinstall your apps manually. And for that one you already purchased twice and the developer wouldn't refund the 2nd purchase, might as well email that apk to a friend to get some use out of the second seat you purchased.
My Backup Pro is another app that makes app backup easy, but it's a paid app. When you run it and select backup apps, it'll ask for each app whether you want to backup or not, and it'll create a folder on your sd card with a zip file containing all of the apks of apps you chose for it to back up. When you restore, it'll go through the list of apps in that zip file asking for each one whether you want to restore, and restore them.

Yep, I have also probably done a full reset a dozen times. I'm not sure, heck for all I know google flagged me as suspicious or something. Who knows. I'm happy because I've gotten most of the major apps refunded (The ones that are $3-$10), so if I do have to buy any more again they'll mostly be the cheaper ones.

[RESOLVED] Market problems anyone?

********************************************************************************
I guess this is a problem on googles side not our phones side. this seems to happen if you try a 2.0 ROM and use your normal market sign in on a 2.0 build.
I started messing around and came up with a solution and it WORKS
Download the AOSP 1.6 build HERE put that onto your sd card in the root directory
Boot into recovery and NANDROID backup
Now Wipe Device
Now install the zip from the sdcard and once finished reboot
Download Googlebit HERE
unarchive google bits to c:\android-sdk-windows\tools
open a command prompt
cd c:\android-sdk-windows\tools
adb remount
adb push system/framework /system/framework
adb push system/etc/permissions /system/etc/permissions
adb push system/app /system/app
adb reboot
Setup Market with your not working account (the one that we need to work on 1.5)
Download and install a copy protected app (like Twidroid Free)
Boot back into Recovery
Wipe Device
Now restore your nandroid backup of 1.5 Cupcake
Reboot phone and goto market let twidroid re-install if it tries to and do not interupt
Manually Reboot phone
Now the copy protected apps should be showing again.
Your previous downloaded apps might not show in downloads anymore but wait a while and they will all come back
Mine is now working perfect.
I have the same problem, as have several others after flashing 2.1 then reverting back.
The theory is what you stated, that it will fix itself over time, but I have yet to see that happen.
I also can access my purchased apps, but a lot of others are missing.
It would appear it is up the Google to fix this problem. Flipz mentions this on his site:
http://geekfor.me/known-issues/known-issues-open/market-items-not-showing-after-using-2-1/
http://geekfor.me/known-issues/known-issues-open/market-items-not-showing-after-using-2-1/
It's on Google's end.
Edit: crunchy beat me to it.
Haha, only by mere seconds.
Well I doubt Google is working on a fix since this is not an official release. We may just be screwed on this one.
You think we could contact them about the issue? Problem is we are not even supposed to have the 2.1 yet.
I do not want to use a different account since my purchased apps are on the account I am using and this is my main account with all my contacts and Google voice and what not.
Any idea out there
Well, it has been a week now for me as well, and I still have no changes on the copy protected apps situation. So I don't know what to do.
I find it hard to believe that we are just "screwed" on this one. Or at least I hope... I have no plans to change my gmail account anytime soon.
Flip, are you even having this issue? Or any of the other "important" people responsible for making the 2.1 rom? And anyone else out there who have not spoken up? I am just trying to get an idea of who else is dealing with this.

I wouldn't consider myself an "important" person. I have never actually put my google account info into any of the other roms (even before we knew this was an issue) so no, I'm not experiencing it. But that was just pure luck.
But honestly we saw this same thing when the Sprint 1.56 MR came out. Even after Google fixed the issue where our fingerprints weren't considered a "released" phone, it took some people's phones days to start showing the apps.
which paid/protected apps are you guys not seeing? Are you sure they are 1.5 compatible. I ran the 2.1 rom for a couple days when it first came out but I never noticed any problems with the market as a result. In either case this is certainly a known problem related to google.
I have not looked to see all the apps missing but any of the known barcode scanners are missing along with an eBay app I use and probably others. I cannot get twidroid, locale or any other protected apps.
Kinda sucks cuz when I go searching for an app I don't know how many are missing and if there may be a better choice but it will not display on the market
I am tempted to contact Google somehow and see if they can help us but like I said this is our fault we are not even supposed to have eclair yet.
Most of my purchased apps show just not the protected apps
I had the issue where market did not allow me to download plus i could not see protected apps. I went to settings/applications/manage application and cleared data for google apps, after that it had me sign in and everything showed up and it let me download again.

I went through the same process and no luck.. it did have me sign back in, but still missing all protected apps.
Yeah, I am missing the same things. Twidroid, Evernote, the Barcode Scanners (although ShopSavvy can be found on their website, they provide it), and the other usual suspects.
I haven't tried the whole wiping google apps thing yet because last time I did that it refused to let me sign back in, and I really don't want to be in that situation at the moment. I'll try it later.
Do we have anyone that had this issue and recovered from it?
And if there are others still dealing with this, come forward!
I am having this issue, randomly, on stock HTC Hero with Sprint MR. So ****ing annoying.
Just realized that this IS probably because of going to 2.1 then back to 1.5.. which I did.
Can't see Yelp, Twidroid ... ****, anything.
well i had this problem, so i ran the RUU to revert to stock and its still there, so i can confirm its on googles end cause my phone was completely wiped, i made a new name for the time being and all the apps show up with this, i just rooted and loaded a new rom so luckily i have my paid apps on my sd card and can use them but if i delete them im f'ed until a fix comes out
Well still no fix for me it has been well over a week and almost two weeks now and I still have no protected apps showing I do not think that this will fix itself with time.
I wonder who we could talk to at Google to see if they could help us
I have the same bug after trying 2.1. I havent seen those apps like twidroid, etc in nearly 3 weeks. I don't believe this is an issue that will resolve itself. I guess I'll just wait for a new update, or whatever.

New Android Market Website

So it's finally out. What do you guys think? Is this the end of Appbrain? I loved appbrain cause I can browse the apps on the website and then just click install from there and it will automatically install on the phone. Now this can do it too!
The biggest upside to this? You can install (after you pay) "in-app" purchase app from the website. e.g. you can install the NBA League Pass from the website directly. Any other features I missed?
This is from Google themselves, not me.
https://market.android.com/
Cool. I like it.
I never really got into appbrain, because it still involved that extra step of opening the application itself.. and blah.. I think, I can't even remember. It just seemed tedious at the time to go onto the computer when it was quicker on my phone.
Then when Google does it, I'm all over it. I have been installing random applications just to install them. Why is this so awesome?!
I played with it for a while now and everything seems to be working well. I guess I can save some space by uninstalling appbrain and use this instead.
sweet jesus!
I'm like'n it...good stuff!
The automatic OTA install is working to my N1 and my Galaxy Tab now, it wasn't earlier this morning.
Works well!
With this new website comes another big change that will happen in the 3rd quarter of this year: NO MORE "LITE" version apps.

That's actually a good thing. You download the "free" application, and then if you decide to unlock it you buy the key from within the app rather than a separate unlocker application, or having the market cluttered with 2 separate versions.
Sounds like a plan!
The in-app purchasing as a general concept I'm not a massive fan off as it has the potential to lead to nickle & diming, primarily for games, but if used responsibly it should be good.
Wow, about time. Glad to see it's finally here.
now all they need to do is let you backup your app data. I dont want to lose my angry birds scores everytime i switch roms and forget to back it up with titamium backup
Well, I don't suppose there's a way for Market Enabler to work on the website?
It lists paid apps from all over the world, but it knows your phone's carrier and will prevent installs if your country does not support it..
I guess it's back to Market Enabler on the phone.
Anyone else having trouble actually buying apps from the website? Installing free apps works like a charm, but trying to purchase and install paid apps doesn't work. I press continue and _nothing_ happens.
running CM7 nightlies and the OTA installs are not working...
According to the website, you need to be logged into GTalk, only my GTalk won't log in. GTalk also appears to be missing from the market, so the problem may be on their end...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Doesn't work for me, it's been years and Android Market still doesn't support Google Apps accounts for Checkout. Although I can login, no devices are listed under "my devices" on market.android.com
I'm running CM7 Nightlies as well, I'm a few behind though, and I'm always logged into GTalk and the OTA's are not working for me either.
It's not working here on MM v.20. I've tried installing several apps but nothing happens on the phone end, the GTalk solution they give also doesn't help. Weird thing is they all show up on my app list as completed when none of them have actually installed.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running CM6.1 kangorama's version and the install says it has worked on the website, but nothing changes on the phone itself.
I'm wondering if it has to do with it being a rooted device without a stock rom?

I'm betting that someone is going to have to create a Web App Store Enabler or something along those lines for this to work on rooted phones or phones without stock ROM's.

Google Locked Me Out of the Market!

Today, around 5:00pm CST, I found that I could no longer update or find many of my installed apps. This has happened several times in the past, usually after installing a new custom ROM. I am currently on Simple Streak 1.2 with PerfUpdate.
I tried all of the "tricks" I know to get it to work. Cleared the cache and data in the Market app. I use v2.3.6 of the Market, so I installed the latest v3.4.4. All installed apps showed up but nearly all of the PAID apps said "not compatible". I also changed the fingerprint in build.prop. NOTHING WORKED!
I called Google Market Help tonight and after 20 minutes of clearing data and cache in Market app, Un-mounting and re-mounting sd card, and explaining to the tech that I have never been able to send apps from the Market to my Streak when logged into the Market on my PC, the tech put me on hold for 2-3 minutes. When he returned, he asked if my device was rooted and if it had a non-stock ROM. I answered yes to both. He then told me that Google has locked me out of my PAID apps because I have violated the Market policy by rooting and modifying the ROM in my device. He went on to say that "ROM developers put malicious code in their ROMs" and for that reason I was locked out of my PAID apps. He told me that I would be able to access my paid apps if I re-install the stock ROM and do not re-root the device.
I pointed out that there are numerous apps sold in the Market that are specifically for rooted devices or for rooting devices. He said this is true as Google does not limit the content of the apps. Only the access to the Market following purchase of those apps. I told him if I wanted a locked down device that I would have purchased an iPhone.
I have not changed my ROM since the day Simple Streak v1.2 was released. He said they finally caught up with me today. I guess I am a Rooted Android Criminal!!!
Since speaking with him, I have discovered many of my purchased apps are "no longer compatible or not found" as are a few of the free apps, primarily any free app dealing with rooting the device such as Root Explorer, Lookout Security, and Handcent SMS. Paid apps include Kaiten Mail, 3g Watchdog Pro, Visual Voicemail Plus.
I tried restoring a Nandroid backup from yesterday before the problem started but it didn't help.
I'm wondering if I just install the DSC Gingerbread Rom instead of the "Original Stock ROM", would the Market work? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I also asked if installing apps from Amazon would cause this problem. He said "it shouldn't." He didn't say "NO." Could this be Google tightening up things to increase Market sales and shut out Amazon? Just speculating.
I am also curious if anyone else is having this difficulty. Either with a Streak 5 or any other Android device. Seems Big Bother is Watching!!!

Looks like new piracy wave is coming soon with such policy changes.
Time to reread Market agreement.

I don't dispute that. The problem seems to be that they ARE doing that. I wonder what % of Android devices are rooted and what % have a custom ROM?
If I can't use the Market, I will have to get the updates and new apps somewhere else. The developers are the ones that will take the financial hit for this policy. That's too bad. The weird part is that I am locked out of my PAID apps, not very many of the free ones. That doesn't make any sense. I'm being punished for supporting the developers?!!!
kraz
If I remember correctly LA for devs states that Google can freely remove/limit access for published apps.
--
Have you only one Android device to check whether device or full account is locked?
--
Anyway, i'd feel absolutely clean using pirated, but previously paid for apps.
But just to get more paranoid - more and more people use Google services. For business too. Time to rethink "let's move it to cloud" strategy and move data you really need access everytime and everywhere to own file/mail solutions?
According to the tech, my device is locked out until I re-install the "Original Stock ROM from the Manufacturer". He said I would then get full access again and I will be able to update the ROM to "any newer Stock ROMs released by the original manufacturer."
Personally, I'm not convinced it isn't because of the few Amazon apps I have installed.

@_n0p_
Would changing the fingerprint in build prop to something new, open the Market? If so, would you PM me the fingerprint line from the DSC ROM? Thank you!
kraz
It would be a major pain, but you could make a nandroid backup of your current setup, then install a stock rom (preferably 407, since you wouldn't need to change baseband), set it up minimally (basically just go through the initial setup with your google account), and make a nandroid of it. Verify that market works in the stock rom, then switch via nandroid restore. My guess would be that Google is only randomly spot checking and you could go possibly months before being "kicked" again. When that happens, make another nandroid backup (to be current), then restore the stock nandroid backup, check the market, and restore back. The downside is about 20 minutes of your time each time you get kicked. I searched the internet for similar cases to yours and thankfully couldn't find much. Almost all results were related to renting movies and had nothing to do with apps.
I'm running DSC and here is the fingerprint:
ro.build.fingerprint=google/sojua/crespo:2.3.6/GRK39C/178324:user/release-keys
I was trying to figure out why would google care what rom we have installed, rooted or not. I guess they don't like that we can remove advertising on the free software. diane
Thanks to _n0p_ and lordmorphous for the DSC fingerprint.
Unfortunately, it didn't work. However, more of my paid apps are accessible today. I have no idea why that would change. The remaining apps that I have already paid for will have to get updated through a black market site. I have already paid for them so I don't feel guilty about updating that way. Also, I have contacted several of the devs and they are willing to send me the updates directly as I have helped them beta test in the past.
Thanks to all for your suggestions and help!

There's the Korean Olleh 2.3:

On topic, what Google are doing is shocking. I have not rooted since adb does all I want to do, but I think that locking people out of their paid apps is a horrible move.
Are you running any custom DPI? I am guessing that may more to do with this.

Yes, for the past 14 months! But that has nothing to do with this problem. As I said in my OP, Google Market Help tech said in a phone conversation that I have been locked out of my paid apps because my device is rooted and has a custom ROM. The Market worked perfectly until 5pm yesterday. Nothing on my device changed to create this problem. The tech said Google wants to tighten things up as they are convinced that rooted and custom ROM'd devices are the source of the viruses in the Market. He said, "Developers of custom ROMs intentionally put malicious code in their ROMs."
This problem isn't the same problem we had when we were first using DJ Steve's ROMs in 2010. That was due to fingerprint and screen density issues.

I found a fix!!!
This app LCD Density Modder Pro (must be the PRO version) $2.99 in The Market fixed my problem, and that of every poster so far in that thread found here:

Well worth the money!!! TAKE THAT GOOGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ran into the "app not compatible" issue after playing around with build.prop and some wifi settings. I did some searching and it appears all you usually need to do is clear the data and cache of "Google Services Framework".
Go to settings)applications)manage applications)all)google services framework,
clear both,
go back to market and give it a few seconds to a minute to populate your apps and try to update.

If that worked, do you have a non-standard dpi?
If you did then it's (likely) simply a combination of:
1) Service rep spouting FUD
2) The way the market works now
The pro version (seems) to only include a link to a modified version of the market with dpi checking dummied out.
My preferred dpi is 200. HOWEVER, I changed my dpi with Blade Buddy to standard 160 and it still didn't work. Using LCD Density Modder with 160 made ALL my installed apps visible AND, more importantly, compatible to upgrade to my Streak. My Streak remains at 200dpi when I leave the Market and return to Home Screen and other apps.
Trust me, this is no placebo! It really works. Some of my apps have been unable to upgrade to the next release since I first used DJ Steves StreakDroid 1.46 custom Froyo 12/2010!!!
As for service rep spouting FUD....I prefer to call it spouting BS!

Saw that and did that. All it did was make EVERY one of my free apps disappear from the My Apps Market list. And the paid apps ALL became incompatible. I was better off before I tried this technique.
LCD Density Modder Pro fixed it perfectly in less than 5 minutes from the time I tapped "BUY".

Switching DPIs doesnt make it instantly detected by the market app, if you just do nothing and wait it can take days to be detected.
Clearing the market cache makes it faster, but even that isnt always instant.

Nexus 4 - You don't have any devices - Google Play website

Anyone help with this annoying problem I'm recently experiencing?
I've never had this problem before, but for no reason (i've not installed any apps recently or changed ROM) I am unable to install apps to my phone via my PC google play browser.
All I get is 'You don't have any devices' - and when I try install an app it says 'You haven't accessed the Google Play Store app (the white shopping bag icon) on your device with this email account.
Clearly I have because I just installed a free game from my phone and I can the see the game installed from the PC play store browser in my apps list.
I have tried forcing the Google Play app to stop and clearing data, logging out of my PC browser and trying again but no luck, I have reinstalled GAPPS and my ROM with a cache/davlic wipe but same results.
All I can think of is because my original email was c......... @googlemail.com and one day it asked me if I wanted c........ @gmail.com and to merge the two accounts together, which I clicked yes to. So when setting my phone up for the first time I use c........ @googlemail.com but then it shows up as c......... @gmail.com when I look at my account settings....
Really annoying problem!!
same issue with Galaxy Note II
No, it's not because of changing email addresses. It has to do with changing ROM.
I changed my ROM from samsung note II, to CM10, and this problem started occurring. I'm also thinking it has something to do with titanium backup breaking market links

I don't know if it's the ROM. I've tried many ROMs on my Nexus 7, Nexus 4, and Galaxy Ace, sometimes even switching everyday of the week and I've never one had this issue.
I'd talk to Google support if I were you. The only thing I have issues with is my device list. It shows two Nexus 7s because my first one died after 7 days and I had to exchange it for a new one, which also activated... and you can't remove devices from your account.
Titanium Backup "market doctor"
Could it be Titanium Backup's market doctor? Perhaps this problem started when I linked all system and user apps to the market.
It also shows a really old nexus 7 that I've sold long ago. Notwithstanding, I can still use Google play on my device without any issue.

I've never used TB market doctor because all of my backups linked properly to the market when I restored them. I would guess that isn't the issue though, because all it does is repair link to the market so apps show up as downloaded and can be updated.
It sounds like it could be an account issue with the email/merging thing you did.
spoke to google
I spoke to google for a long while: while I was not able to to see my phone listed under "my devices" they were able to see it on their end. All I could see was 4 devices that I have long ago stopped using.
They speculate that it could be an error with a recent update to the Play.google.com site....
here is what they recommend:
Uninstall updates to
GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES
GOOGLE SERVICES FRAMEWORK
GOOGLE PLAY STORE
They also asked me to wipe data.
They asked me to reboot - and - now I'm still waiting for the auto play-store update. Currently does not seem to have solved the problem.
Anyone else having these issues?
<<hangouts will require the updated play-store in order to work>>

System dump?

Hi so been on 7.0 for at least a month and just last two days phone was being really buggy so I turned the phone off and back on phone didn't prompt for password to boot.
Is there a way I can save the whole phone on to drive to send to someone to take a closer look to see what virus is on here Im guessing it's a rootkit some how also what way would you run packet capture to see things that way?

a virus would be software related...if you did a full wipe and installed fresh software and it continues it might be an app you keep installing...do you get your apps from the playstore or side load as well

playstore only before my phone was locked boot loader and encrypted to have to use pin to boot device.
AS SOON as i get the buggy phone and reboot when it boots up it no longer request pin to boot. on stock rom i was rebooting phone every week to see how long it would take and usually nothing odd until phone got buggy for reason of the reboot.
the buggy issue is shortly opening an app the app will freeze so i hit home nothing happends try to turn the screen off nothing happends until a minute later sometimes phone will reboot its self or i hold power to make it reboot but both take about same amount of time when phone goes into full freeze.
so it being a playstore app and the virus not getting detected google needs to look into how they can patch this...
so im putting this out there so this person or group doesnt forever have a backdoor into peoples phones.
this issue i have had since november last year but havent been so aware about the issue till august. since august ive been dealing with know some how they are getting in and must be an app but i got rid of all games and weird apps that are not nessisary
abs workout, esfile explorer, google+,mint personal finance, tapatalk, accuweather, alaskausafcu, amazon kindle, android auto, android device manager, android pay, calculator, chrome browser, chrome remote desktop, clock, cloud print, contacts, es task manager, facebook, family locator, favorite frequencies, fing, garmin connect, gci my usage, gmail, google, google calendar, google camera, google docs, google drive, google goggles, google keep, google keyboard, google news, google now launcher, google opinion, google photos, google play games, google play music, google txt to speech, hulu, keeper, look out, malwarebytes, maps, messenger, eset mobile security, pandora, playstation phone, phone, shazam, sixaxis controller, skype, speed test, usaa mobile, vlc for android, wifi analyzer, xbox, youtube, zombies run
these are all the apps ive had since ive had this issue.
i was hopping that esfiles exploreres new feature of being notified of new files would help solve this but some folders it doesnt detect like youtube or google music even though in es files explorer i unlocked ability to view the .nomedia
Drop ES File Explorer, to start. Read this article, or do some googling about it on your own;
https://www.androidpit.com/this-is-why-you-should-not-use-es-file-explorer
I have to agree with the article when it says Solid Explorer is a great replacement. I've used it for years now and it's never let me down.
The fact of the matter is, if you manually wiped all of your phone and formatted your internal storage, nothing remains from pre-wipe. If your issue is coming back it can only be a hardware issue (if applicable) or some app you are using, as previously mentioned.
Furthermore, after googling your exact issue I came to find that certain apps that require 'Accessibility Services' can and will disable your pin/password/pattern on boot. Check if any of your apps fit the bill in 'Settings > Accessibility > Services'
Disable any apps which are enabled and reboot. You may have to set up pin, etc., again, but leave the services disabled and see if the issue returns. Let us know!
Edit: Upon more googling, I've found reports of people who had the issue return after disabling & uninstalling the apps in question as well. You may need to flash stock images again and do not install any apps that require accessibility services, or don't grant any of them permission even once.
Edit2: Just another link to check out;
https://blog.g3rt.nl/android-lollipop-encryption-user-interface-flaw.html
Edit3: Issue tracker link; https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=219498
Edit4: If you logged into your bank app and factory reset or flashed factory images, logging in again after the wipe/flash will show as a new device. Same goes for having login alerts set for Google / Facebook, etc. Your same phone shows as a new device after the flash or wipe. Guaranteed not a virus.

I turned off keeper nothing.
I un installed it nothing.
I dont know how to re enable boot encryption pin.
the phone says it is so I'll try clean install again and just not allow keeper anymore I think the issue has come up just after turning keeper on to allow the accessibility features.
Thank you I will keep you informed give it till February if nothing odd happened.
