HTC Aria vs HTC Wildfire - HTC Aria General

AT&T aside...
HTC Aria and HTC Wildfire are essentially the same?
Seems like HTC Aria is the Android version of HTC HD Mini, while HTC Wildfire is the mini version of HTC Desire.

They both have a mix of features though
The Wildfire has a 528mhz cpu while the Aria is 600mhz.
The Wildfire has flash for it's camera while the Aria does not.
The Wildfire has 100mah power in it's battery pack
The Wildfire is .5inch taller then the Aria
But this all kinda means jack when the wildfire seems to be an international phone for us Americans.

In my opinion the wildfire has its biggest downfall in the screen resolution. At the same size as the Aria's screen, it only offers QVGA resolution instead of HVGA.

It is not just 528 vs 600, or 72Mhz. It's a very different, and much slower CPU.

I really loved the wildfire design when it was announced, sorta like a mini Nexus One with an optical scroller. I am so happy with my Aria I can't look back, only think I miss is camera flash.

Wildfire is an odd duck. The Aria is more like the Desire than the Wildfire.

Desire HD vs Hd7 and G2

I love 4.3" screens like the desire hd has and my hd7. I love ther 4g capibilities my g2 has. In the US they don't sell desire hds. I found a guy on craigslist who's willing to trade me his desire hd plus 150 cash for my hd7 and g2? It wouldn't be that big off a deal but it'll run edge because it doesn't have US 3g. Is it worth it, or can I just get a hd2 and it'll be the same thing.

Why not just get the mytouch 4g instead? Apart from screen size and MT4 has FF Camera its exactly the same and at least you will get US 3g.
We all must agree the mt4g is the ugliest phone other then the htc magic

htc wildfire or htc legend?

hi my phone just got stolen and i have a option of geting a htc legend instead of my wildfire which one would be a better phone?
Legend. Its faster and runs games way better

I depends on how are you using your phone, and how much money would you like to spend for that
Technically Legend. I`ve read here, on xda, that some have problems with the menu and back buttons, and some times the power button becomes squishy.
If you have the choice, I would go for the legend
It's got a faster processor and higher res screen and specs wise its generally better than the wildfire in most areas
One more vote for Legend. Although, over here, Legend is nearly EOL and the cost of it and the Desire is pretty much the same.
Aluminium Unibody <3
none of them.. Desire.. it have the same price as legend i think..
okay then i think ill opt for the legend thanks guys
I dont think it runs angry birds as well as the desire (my fiend has a x10 mini pro with the same cpu and says that it doesnt run that well)

CPU of wildfire is really poor, and it also have a bad screen.
Legend is faster and as a better screen resolution for games.

I say Legend too

Desire HD vs. Inspire

I made a trip up to Canada and went in to a cell store to see what kind of phones they have in Canada compared to in the US and I have the Inspire right now and I saw a desired HD and picked it up and could not tell a difference between the two besides the back where the HTC logo is compared to the ATT logo. Is there a difference between the phones or is it one is "4g" and the other is not.
Thanks
No there isnt, not at all.jsut the carrier and the name of course.
But I wanted the htc logo too instead of the at&t one...
Yes there are differences:
Inspire has a S-LCD screen - Desire HD has normal LCD!
4 GB storage - Desire has 1 GB storage
Inspire has a secondary mic for noise canceling - Desire has not!
Desire HD has also super-lcd.

Unless htc changed it the desire hd only has LCD.
Desire HD also has s-lcd. And the Desire HD has 1.5GB of internal memory. The inspire has 4GB. Other than the logo everythiong else is exactly the same. And my Telus DHD also has the secondary mic. I believe the newer DHD models do now. The Telus DHD and Inspire have same the North American 3G bands unlike the European version.
The Inspire does not have 4g internal memory, thats what At&t says but it only has 1 gb.

Only 1gb is user accessable, the rest is reserverd for the os. Taking a look at the ruu its almost its 1.7gb uncompressed. So it would have to have more than 1gb for all that bloat
Sent from my TARDIS using XDA App
^ then shouldnt the desire hd have the same?? If it only has 1gb of internal storage then shouldnt there be like -2gb for personal use?lol
So basically its the same ~_~
Im not sure about the mic and stuff though,
Personally I think they do the same amount but its just a marketing by att to make it sound even better. "4gb internal plus 8gb external" to give it the fake wow factor same as their "4g". Just marketing and small little fine print.
I think the only actual difference is the extra Mike. Frequency bands not with standing. I have read of few people say their desire HD have the slcd and I believe the telus version does have the Mike. So I don't know what HTC is doing

You mean Mic?lol
and yeah I agree...
Lol yeah. Got to love the auto correct.

Even with having a single mic, my DHD seems to do a better job at noise reductions than most other phones do. Voice actions records my voice and shows the wave perfectly, and executes perfectly even if I'm in a noise street. My friend's Desire S (3 mics I think) doesn't do nearly that, and gives huge "block" as the wave after a voice command.

Then I am quite glad I purchased the Telus DHD instead of the inspire. I am on a full feature phone unlimited data plan ($10/month). And ATT doesn't seem to be able to detect this phone.
without hesitation I prefer the DHD

Comparable phone to legend?

Lost my htc legend. Anyone know what htc have replaced this with and/or what people would consider to be a comparative phone (for insurance replacement purposes)

If it was my case I wouldn't be able to receive replacement. It really depends in what provider you got your phone from. Usually they will give you a phone that has the exact same contract fees as the one before (only for contract, not sure about prepaid).
However if you are planning in getting a phone similar to the HTC legend in terms of speed, I would choose HTC Wildfire S.

HTC Desire S or Wildfire S.

Buy Desire S - almost the same size as Legend but more screen, CPU and memory. Or wait for news from CES this week

Why not be the best, rather than HTC Legend? How about HTC Incredible S? For him, there are many custom firmware, including - wonderful MIUI and CyanogenMod7. Or wait for something new, but it will have a high cost for a year (at least).

Yeah, i agree, the HTC desire S is good, Desire Z is my recommendation too.
Maybe HTC Desire S, yeah. But now I think thant Samsung Galaxy S Plus is above it

Desire S screen so much nicer than my Z

I recently got a Desire S for my wife.
On paper, the Desire S touch screen should be identical to the touch screen on my Desire Z. However, when showing the same image on the same brightness level, the Desire S screen always looks much brighter and more vibrant and colorful than my Desire Z screen.
Is there any hardware differences between the screens of the 2 devices?
Me Mrs has the s and it looks identical to me. Both gave HTC screen protectors.

I can't find any difference between those two, if there is any difference with the hardware, i would say on Cpu
Might have a different batch of screen mfg. I saw this in the Incredible S forums. They are basically a younger brother to the DesireZ/S

yeah, but it's still a long way from being a Desire-Z
as a matter of fact, I can't think of a phone in all of the world I would swap for my G2/Desire Z - and as it's almost 1.5 years old, that is pretty amazing!
