Android questions, can anyone clear a few things up for me? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

First off, I want to give a huge thanks to everyone working on the Android builds. They have done such a great job, in such a short time. Thanks everyone whos working on it.
Im new to the whole android on wmphones thing...
So, of course I have a few questions
I know we are a long way away from it but once a fully working and stable build is made, will we still have to boot through harret? Or will it be a case of turning the phone on, and presto we have Android.
Secondly, will features that can be had on android phones open up to use on our leo's? for example 720p video recording ect?
Thanks guys, sorry if they seem like retarded questions.

You don't have to start Android through Harret! There will be a NAND build which boots without a support from windows mobile! But don't know when it will be out.
I don't really knw the specification of Leo camera. But if the hardware supports it then yea it will be possible some day

For now there's dual boot, where on start you can choose whether you want to book WM or A. Not sure if it's optimized for HD2 yet, but it's being used for other devices. And yes, it still does require HaRET installed, to the best of my knowledge, but it handles all the fiddly bits for you.

Ok cool. thanks for the information.

hi all..
does anyone know tentatively when we'll can expect an android NAND build.. thanks... also, once its out, would it be possible to switch back and forth between android and win mo or would it be a one time switch?

I think its a while off yet as the devs haven't decided yet on the proper build to go for, in regards of a dual boot or dual running i think you would have to use 1 or the other as it would use up too much memory but I'm sure you could just flash back & forth

Hey friends,
probably this has been asked before, but still a major consideration of which phone to buy.
anyone knows for certain if this will be available \ can be done?
thanks a lot,
P.S you guys seem most skillful dev team, keep up guys.
it is possible but no one can assure you that this will happen. look at the orginal HD port as an example

you will never find the right answer, and we all already can see it is pretty tough to put an non android phone with a fully working android? So far, it is pretty impossible. Why would you putting high hope with a wm phone to be ported with android? this will not be a good factor at all for choosing a phone? my 2 cents.
If I read the signs right, there will bei a Android Version of the Leo in early 2010.
Maybe there is a change to flash between the two OS.
On the other Hand this would mean HTC didnt give an capactive Display to the Leo for being ready for Windows Mobile 7 but for being able to sell it as Android Device aswell.

If you want to google for this version you should use the magic words "HTC Dragon"
Cool .. I'm reading this forum for two weeks to get reason NOT to buy Leo. Still haven't found one. But this might be it ..

where to get android 2.2?

im not able to find any link on any of the forum..where to download android???? pleasseee help me out???
You have to download a ROM that has android 2.2 with it. You dont simply "install android 2.2" You have to install a ROM that USES android 2.2
Click the sticky link in my sig. Follow the noobs guide. Read CAREFULLY, and THOROUGHLY BEFORE asking questions.

[Q] Android on my HTC Trophy 7

Dear Amazing developers,
I am sure you have encountered this question several times but I just need to understand if I can install Android system on my HTC Trophy 7, I am hating how microsoft is hounding their users in such stupid way. Please advise.
Thank you so much
Not possible....yet. But, team from XDA.CN are working on Android ROM currently for HTC HD7. I think that if they make it for HD7, it could be done for all wp7s out there...
Here's the video about their progress.
Bye!

thank you so much, do u know an estimate or a time range?
Unfortunately noone does... I can guess that it might me avalible in let's say 1 month or more... If you ask me, I would love it to be avalible tomorrow, but i highly
doubt it happening.
We can only say thumbs up for this project and keep our fingers crossed that they
don't encounter heavy problems during the realisation of this project!
looooooool... Yep thats exactly what am doing RIGHT NOW
I can wait , just cant get into WP7 Ive tried and tried to like it but its still a 50/50 thing.
i think if the HD7 has nand Android i think its not so hard to port then Android
to Trophy and Mozart because they has the same CPU.

Why don't you just sell you WP7 phone and get yourself a new Android device ? The market price on a Trophy is as high as it's going to be, so you'll get the most for it now.
Also you don't not have to worry about Hacking Android to get it on the phone, that sometimes might not offer the best performace or hardware not working correctly.
Just wondering...
Is there anything new about putting Android on HTC Trophy, since last reply and asking about this was about the end of April..?
Thanks, and thumbs up for developers...
Nope, nothing new.
Please get yourself and stock android phone, i perfer WP7 over ANDROID everyday.
because they all have android least the trophy? Someday there will be someone dared you succeed? (before you break into pedas) jajaja
Some info to all the xda.cn video is just a fake confirmed by cotulla
anyone knows if somebody is doing it..? I mean, dooes it 'fits' on HTC Trophy..?
thanks
Why would anyone want to do this? And even more important why would anyone want to build a ROM? Screw Android. I'd rather someone make a Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM for the Trophy instead of this crap.
I do not agree with you... I believe it would be better if android fits on HTC Trophy... That possibility would be great!

[Q] WinMo or Android?

hi guys
just wanted to check:
when our awsome devs finish thier great job with the android, whos gonna change to andoid and whos gonna stick to winmo?
i dont know if this question should be here but i will answer and im sticking to both.....
Android 4 ever!!!
I also choose Android. I can't wait for next relase
I buy Mini less then a year ago, becourse of WinMo (it was more soft for it). But now the situation has changed... So android is more nice for me.
Only, one thing is not good, as for me, in android - there is no such application as RescoPhotoManager in it.

*Waving hand*

Some of you might know me already (if not, time to google Evolution for Opal , just wanted to say "Hi" to the not-so cruel people here at the XDA forums, especially here at Touch Viva section
So, how is everyone's Touch Viva doing? I wanted to do some more ROM works and share with ya'll but you know, WM went dead long ago, so couldn't really do anything creative with a new ROM. I thought that i would head over to Android or get a Windows Phone and continue my 'Chefing'. But unfortunately am still stuck with this Opal.
So, to put in one simple line this whole thread's aim - What's up everyone?

Hi Pajerm
I have this habit of starting everything from scratch when i want to make a new ROM. So, i have cleared out the kitchen of my Evolution series ROMs. And as MS officially made WM dead, i didn't try to make a new ROM since, it's been more than a year now i think.
Hello!
Hi guys! For those who know me as the forum moderator over here, I am the former "SHR" who released those WM6.1 lite versions! How's all? I just wished there was a good rom with the start button still on top! Good to see Jagan back although he left when we actually needed a back bone for our device! And then pajerm! All the nice guys are here! I still use the Opal. On the stock WM 6.1 for now. Haven't really tried any rom for now!
Hope everyone is fine!
