Trying to enter bootloader, goes to reset instead

I'm trying to get my hd2 to stay on the tri-colored bootloader screen but it quickly goes to a white screen that says "this operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel".
Pressing volup and other keys does nothing. I assume this is because I have CWM installed and im using an android rom.
To clarify: I can boot CWM and my android from nand, but I am trying to run task 29 because my rom is messed up and I can't get the bootloader screen to stay. It thinks I'm trying to reset the data but I'm not.... Any help?

Vol down and power button
Thats what I'm doing and it results in what i described in the first part of my post.
ive tried all sorts of button combinations and none work
Throwin this out there but could ur vol+ button be sticking???when u do vol +/- ull get that screen
i did a button test and all the buttons work like they should, except when i press vol up nothing happens but when i press menu it registers both menu and volup
but yeah volup by itself does nothing...
In order to get to the reset screen you must be pushing the Vol Up + Vol Down + Power on. To get to bootloader it is only Vol Down + Power on. Make sure that you press at the bottom end of the Vol button.
Ok so that means my volup is stuck or malfunctioning. Any ideas on how to remedy this?
Apart from getting a service, No. Sorry.

[Q] SOLVED stock on bootloop

Tried WugsFresh method now my n10 is stock on bootloop... I tried going into recovery but only thing I see it's an android on it's back and no options to select... Should I wrap this up and return it for warranty?? what can I do?? Please help I'm already freaking out... well not really but what can I do please!! all I did was to unlock the bootloader... I didn't even root yet....
okay if you are new at unlocking and rooting the n10 as I am.... u might find yourself in a bootloop after unlocking your bootloader, If u unlocked your bootloader and u are stuck on the "X" bootanimation for more than 5 min this is what I did to get back up running and ready to root.
1.- Turn off your device by holding the power button
2.- as soon as the screen goes black hold down VOL DOWN+VOL UP + POWER you are going to end up in the BOOTLOADER SCREEN
2a. With the volume buttons push up or down til u see the RECOVERY option and select it with the POWER BUTTON
3.- once there if all you see it's the android laying on it's back with no options to choose just PRESS VOL UP+VOL DOWN+ POWER and when I mean press I don't mean press and hold I mean just press and release til you see the options pop up on the screen.
4 with the Vol button select wipe factory reset once it finishes reboot to system and boom U should be back on the set-up screen.
just to be safe and I don't get people screaming at me if u unlocking your bootloader I think is pretty clear your that u know that ur wiping all of ur data... so make a back before u do anything. READ BEFORE U DO... YOU (WE) ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR OWN DEVICES.... IF U AINT SURE DONT DO IT OR JUST ASK BEFORE

Droid X not able to Factory Flash

Hey guys.
I am trying to factory reset a Droid X for a someone. Their son owned it beforehand and doesn't know his Google info. He wants to sell it either way, and doesn't feel like doing the recovery process (Plus it's hard to get a hold of him sometimes).
Steps taken:
Attempted to get into the recovery console:
- Remove battery from phone
- Press volume down
- Nothing happens, loads normally
- Remove Battery
- Press and hold home key
- Attempt to power on, still boots normally.
I *CAN* get into the boot loader by pressing Vol +/- Then powering on, but that's not what I'm wanting. I just want to do a basic factory reset.
Any ideas on this?

you can factory reset in android then it will reboot and do it.
it should be in settings then back up and reset
I guess I wasn't clear enough. They don't know the log in information to the phone.
