Problem: Changing type of EzInput. - Windows Mobile

Hi!
I'm cooking a HD2 (LEO) ROM with ROM base 3.14 and SYS 28234.
How can I change the type of keyboard input? --> qwerty, phonepad, etc..
I can only swap from Touch Input and Swype.
Can you tell me how I can fix this in my kitchen?
THANKS THANKS THANKS THANKS A LOT!
Best Regards!

Any help?
Cheers!

Assuming you have included the EZ Input package AND the EZ Input engine, since that's what's needed to make the keyboard work in the first place, when you tap the icon at the bottom in the middle of the softkeys, an arrow shows up. Tapping that arrow brings up the EZ Input menu to select the different keyboards. You aren't seeing the Compact QWERTY and Phone Pad there?

Packages:
IME Engine Western v2.1.20164031.00
IME Ez Input Western v2.1.20162721.00
IME Swype v3.19.20.20.6343.0
IME Tutorial v1.0.19221430.00
When I tap the icon at the bottom in the middle of the softkeys I can only switch between Touch Input and Swype. I don't see the Compact QWERTY and Phone Pad.
How can I solve this problem?
Cheers!

Did you have a look in 3.14 initflashfiles.dat for the IME entries and created a app.dat for the packages?

I need the SIP Menu displays "Keyboard", "Full QWERTY", "Compact Keyboard", and "Phone Keypad".
Actually, with the packages that I work, I don't have the sip menu, I have only a menu to switch between Touch Input and Swype.
Can you tell me what should I do?
-What I need to modify in the initflashfiles.dat?
Now i have:
;***IME_ENGINE_WESTERN***
;==========================================================================
; MASD customization settings
;==========================================================================
Directory("\Windows"):-Directory("ET9IMEDB")
Directory("\Windows\ET9IMEDB"):-File("eT9AsDb.Adb","\Windows\eT9AsDb.Adb")
Directory("\Windows\ET9IMEDB"):-File("eT9Rudb.Rdb","\Windows\eT9Rudb.Rdb")
-And, what do you mean: "created a app.dat for the packages?"
Many thanks!!!

Ah, i just realized that you're using a 6.5.x build. The issue is there (sorta). Let me guess, when your menu pops up, it doesn't pop-up from the bottom, but from the center? I had this same issue. Sometimes I'd get the EZ Input menu, other times i'd get the MS menu. If this is the case, then try getting the latest menu enhancement package from the leaks. To tell you the truth, I don't know how the issue went away for me, but I'm not on that build. I also don't have a capacitive screen, haha...

Transcriber alternative for leo roms

Since transcriber is not included in leo roms, I am not able to use KUMA chinese handwriting recognition input. Are there any alternatives to use chinese handwriting input with a touch HD using a leo rom?
Thanks!!
EDIT/UPDATE:
I was able to use use sipchange to bring up the kuma chinese handwriting recognition block. But it is kinda annoying to use sipchange every time when I switch between normal US keyboard and chinese input. It would be ideal to have that transcriber option on the menu so that I can change between on the fly.
Hope this helps others on the same boat. Any way to integrate it into the keyboard option menu is greatly appreciated.
EDIT/UPDATE 2:
I installed the enabletranscriberwwe.cab and was able to use transcriber and block recognizer in the leo rom. But same problem exists that I can choose them in the SIP menu. I have to use sipchange to choose. Again, anyone knows how to integrate these into the keyboard menu (the little keyboard icon at the bottom when you type)? I tried to search but couldnt find anything related. But if there is a double post please let me know and point me to the right direction. Thanks!
Aright guys, I just found a better way to include the chinese handwriting option in the SIP without installing anything. This simply disable the Ezinput 2.1 display. Just install your chinese handwriting cab (KUMA in my case) and do the following. Hope this helps. Enjoy~!
Registry change:
HKLM>Software>HTC>ezsip>"EnableSipMenu change to "0"
Softreset
EDIT:
Btw, you get the block recognizer and letter recognizer back in the SIP option.
install finger keyboard , then you will have chinese and english keyborad
It is not about the chinese or english keyboard, it is the letter recognizer meaning to say that you write chinese or english using the stylus.

windows mobile 6.5.3 input selector arrow missing (keyboard right side)

I am trying a couple of ROMs based on windows mobile 6.5.3 and 6.5.5
I noticed that the input selector arrow is missing (keyboard > right side).
So how to make the selection between different input methods? I can't find any manuals online.
Sometimes the options which were available in earlier version (Text Input Settigns, Phone Keypad, Compact Qwerty, About) do appear if I tap twice (quick tapping) sometimes they do not...I am puzzled.
Please can someone point me to the right usage of the new keyboard icon (bottom centre)?
Thanks
Saulo
I noticed that If I tap and hold then a new window appear : "Touch Input"... but this does not solve my puzzle: how to make the keyboard appears and then disappears? (just clisk for 1/3 of seconds) How to make the option appear? it seems too random...
I found my solution: the latest Xanny ROM!
Yes this ROM does provide a new WM 6.5.3 optimized keyboard icon: if I press for less than 1/3 of sec the keyboard layout is toggled (on and off). It is fine.
If I press for 1/2 sec, then the menu of options appear. Xanny improvements is here: there is a button on the bottom line (CLOSE) which is NOT present in all other wm6.5.3 ROMs that I have tested...This CLOSE Button does effectively provide a way to revert to the Keyboard layout.
Anyway, any other feedbacks?
Thanks
Saulo
no guys, it is like with wm6.5 but the arrow to choose keyboard is not visible.
What i want to say is that if you click lower right part of the icon it will show the keyboard selector and the rest of it will hide/show keyb.
regards
The input selector arrow is not a part of 6.5.x UI, it has never been. It was replaced by longpress on SIP button. Of course when longpress is already used (by Sense), this is an issue... But it is not a bug of 6.5.x
Thanks Tryde.
Is there a way to completely disable SENSE, so we can avoid conflicts on the icon selector?
Another questions (a bit off topic): if not possible to disable SENSE, at least can we disable HTC Messaging? I wish to use the keyboard with old fashion Microsoft TXT and SMS messaging.
thanks
Saulo

I may be wrong (not using 6.5.x at the moment), but if you use a third party keyboard (finger keyboard for example), it should disable this popup. Have you tried ?
Possible solution
I have found another possible solution. If you disable the change of SIP, the menu will not appear and there is no troubles with hiding the keyboard.
I disabled SIP menu in registry by changing HKLM\Software\HTC\ezsip\EnableSipMenu to 0.
Little disadvantage is that now you can't change your keyboard. (But if you are using still the one like me, there is no problem.)
Let me now, if it helps you.

Help with text input settings

I just got Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 windows mobile 6.5. The only options it gives me for text input are full qwerty, compact qwerty and phone keypad. I found transcriber in the windows directory & am able to use it. However, there used to be something called "keyboard" which I really liked and I can't find it anywhere. Can anyone help me. Thanks for your help.
Hey,
When you are in your text field at the bottom of the screen you should see a keyboard icon. I know on 6.1 it is between your two reply and menu I believe in 6.5 it so n the side.
When you click it, it opens your keyboard then there should be a little arrow beside that icon click on the arrow.
This should give you the options of phone keypad, Full QWERTY and keyboard. under those will be other input methods which have transcriber keyboard, letter recognizer and block recognizer.
If some things arnt there then sprint may of had them removed and you might want to look on the forms to find a CAB for a new keyboard.
thanks for the help. i guess sprint did remove them, because they just aren't there. does anyone know of a cab file that would restore them?

[Q] Changing Text input methods menu

My device specifications
ROM: 1.56.405.1 (43972) WWE
ROM DATE: 03/06/09
RADIO: 1.13.25.24
PROTOCOL: 52.62.25.34U
My problem
As you can see above I have an English ROM. I want to be able to type GREEK as well so I tried several programs and finally I decided that RESCO Keyboard PRO suites my needs. I have selected Resco Keyboard (GR) to be my default Keyboard and from the Resco option menu I have chosen the English to be my secondary language. But...
Usually when I edit a text I use both Greek / English language symbols. That is why I want an easy and fast way to change from one layout to the other. When I press the "Input selector arrow" next to the "Input Panel Icon" I get a list of the following options:
Touch Input setting
English
Phone Keypad
Compact QWERTY
Full QWERTY
Resco Keyboard (GR)
Other Input Methods
It is really annoying, to tap on the "Other Input Methods" and then from the new list, select the Resco Keyboard (EN). Too many taps.
So (finally ) my question
Is there any way I can edit / change the list above and add the Resco Keyboard (EN) and / or remove the "Phone Keypad", "Compact QWERTY" options I never use?
Thanks you in advance

How to config keyboard on TP2 to work with portuguese

Hi,
I'd like to get my TP2 T-mobile to work with portuguese (ç, ´, `, etc).
Thanks for the help
Install these two registry keys and then you've got xt9 portuguese fully functioning.
I'd like to know how to install the .reg, because it says that it has no "application associated".
Thanks
You can import them using a registry explorer like SK Tools or Mem Maid or any other...
Thanks for the help.
I use Total Commander, but I haven't figured out to work.
I copyed to clipboard and past in the plugin/registry directory, but it didn't work
Total Commander doesn't support importing registry files.
You can use SK Tools here:
http://www.s-k-tools.com/index.html?m_downloads.html#tools
In the registry explorer select "Import" then select the files you want!
I did what you said but it didn't work.
How can I type ç, á, é, à, í, ó ?
I had a sony X1 and it was nice to type but the TP2 it's hard.
I was thinking, the TX9 is the digital keyboard? Because it already had those characters, I want the slide keaboard to work with those characters.
Thanks a lot for the patience.

Problem solved!
I didn't activate the XT9, now it's working beautifully
Thanks to HRQ.SLV !!
If you want to use accented characters with the "FN" key in the hardware keyboard, you'll need to copy the attached file (eT9.Rhodium.ptp.kmap.txt) to the windows folder and apply the attached reg key. If you want to create you own keyboard layout check here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Rhodium/ChangingKeyboardLayout).
If you cannot select the portuguese language in the XT9 (hidden in foreighn devices by default) you can use the cab file "input lang diamond2 kb.cab" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3456978)
If you want to assign the <TAB> character to an hardware key (I've assigned it to the "mail" key) you can use the Rhodium Keyboard Controller ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554240). I use the <TAB> key when SSH to linux boxes to autocomplete in the command line.
I also use the Rhodium Keyboard Controller to toggle wifi on/off using a long press in the VolUp key.
