Phone keeps restarting - XPERIA X10 General

I dunno what went wrong, my phone was running empty so i connected it to my pc and it was charging, when i woke up it was empty and not charging anymore.
I finely got it back to charge and now every 10 minutes the phone boots, u see the boot screen with 2% battery warning and then it goes right to ' shutting down ' and turns of again and that's all it does now, i can't charge it past 2% because then it boots and shuts down right away.
Anyone encountered anything like this and has a solution?

your phone is on which firmware version?

It's out of the box, in the netherlands, donno what firmware that is and i can't check it because realy all it does is shutting down....
Got the phone like 1 or 2 weeks ago and didnt update it or rooted it to avoid stuff like this xD

Have you tried charging from the plug rather than from the computers usb?

yeah i did but for the past 2 days it didnt charge at all only when i charge it it keeps restarting, when i don't charge it it just blinks 3 times red and does nothing.
While it's recharching the on/off button doenst respond either, it does it all by itselff

These are the times I am glad I own an external battery charger and 2 spare batteries.
I think you should invest in a set OP.

I have a spare charget and i HAD a spare battery if i only knew where it was...
Today i'm going to the vodafone shop and demand a new one because this is costing me money because no one can reach me ffs

[Q] Mytouch 4g died in sleep?

So, this phone was working without any problems but then my wife turned it off and left it in the drawer for about 3 weeks when she went overseas. When she got back and tried to turn it on it wont turn on. We figured it might have drained the battery so we plugged it in but now its not charging either! When I unplugged and plugged in, the LED blinked orange once but now it wont even do that either, no power, no LED, not charging either. I have tired everything, left it disconnected, battery out for an hour, then put it together and tried to charge, still nothing.
Any ideas? It is already out of warranty so talking to T-Mobile is out of question.
Nothing has been done to it, it is physically fine, it was just off for a long period and not it just wont respond.
Edit: Fixed it! I don't know what, I was almost giving up, but I took the battery out and blew hard on the battery contacts in the phone and in the charging port then plugged everything in and put it back on charger, orange light started to blink and then went solid and now its charging. I just turned it on. This phone is dodgy, no other phone hard bricks like this if you leave it off.
Some phones don't function with completely discharged battery. Actually, most of newer phones. You need to leave the battery inside and the phone connected to charger for some time, till the charging light shows up. MT4G is very far from being "dodgy", doesn't differ from many other phones that behave the same, and you were nowhere near "hard brick".
Good luck in powering up Motorola Defy with completely discharged battery.
Recoverable problem

Had a similar problem. Phone died while using it then wouldn't light up when plugged in. Left it plugged in for half an hour wouldn't seem to charge via wall or car charger. Tried doing a hard reset with/without the battery & plugged in/not plugged in in various combinations. Got nuthin. Drove around for hours looking for a replacement or open T-Mobile place, until it got too late and I went home. Live chat with T-mobile rep was a waste of time. Plugged it in the wall and left it, as this once brought back a G2 battery that I thought was cold dead. Five hours later it was lit up and charging, showing 40% charge on the battery indicator app once I turned it back on. "HTC Sense" crashed immediately on boot then recovered. Seems to be fine so far.
- Suggestion; plug it in and leave it overnight if it seems cold dead and doesn't appear to be charging. It seems to need to hit some critical threshold before it will work again (as indicated by previous poster). Also pick up a couple spares off amazon or newegg if you don't have a second phone available.

[Q] Nexus 4 won't charge at all. Bricked?

Hi guys,
I got a serious problem. I imported a Nexus 4 from France to Belgium because it isn't availible in my country, I have it for three weeks now and I was very satisfied.
My friend received a S3 for Christmas so I decided to install Antutu; to compare the two phones.
Anyway, the Nexus just randomly crashed. It wouldn't turn on.
I tried to hard reset it, it didn't work.
I plugged it in to charge, for about an hour; it was blinking red, but still nothing.
Then I connected it in on my PC, the battery icon apperead, I clicked the powr button the Google logo appared again but it turned off.
Now it isn't recognized at all, there is no red blinking led and not recognized on PC..
Any help or I have to find a way to RMA it?
thanks a lot

I have tried it but it isn't charging, I'll wait for an hour again.
I did lot of searching..
I had a similar problem while running Antutu yesterday
My phone was charged up to about 98% .. At this time I decided to run the benchmark when my phone suddenly turned off 1/2 way through..
I then decided to hold the power button for 10 secs to no avail..
I connected the charger to see if the screen would light up and lo and behold the phone started charging but I discovered my battery had drained to 0% all the way from 98%..
I wasnt sure what caused this so i let it charge for 2 mins then i turned on the phone....It was still at 3%....i left the phone connected to the charger for 15 mins but it never chrged past 3% so i disconnected the charger and restarted the phone..
By the time the phone was booted up, the battery was back to its original 98% and i havent experienced the problem since then even though i have run the antutu benchmark multiple times after the restart...
I find it odd though that we both experienced the problem while running antutu....my best guess is that there is a particular test that interferes with our phones power management
RMA was my only solution...
thanks anyway

[Q] When turning off, a fully charged battery has 0%

Finally receieved my Nexus 4 after almost 2 months waiting, but not really enjoying it right now.
Received it yesterday, unpacked it and I couldn't turn on the phone. So I've connected the cable into the charger and a light showed up.. After 30 min I saw a battery icon and after 1 hour I could turn up the phone.
When turned on, it showed 3% battery, so I let it charge for about 5 hours. While charging I've noticed something strange.. it was charging very slow. After 4h of charging it was showing just 16% battery and 1h later it was suddenly at 70%. After it got till 99% I unplugged the charger and tried to use the phone.
Everything worked till I wanted to restart it. The phone doesn't want to start up! Pressing the powerbutton for 20-30 seconds.. nothing happens. Tried the volume button combination.. nothing. Plugged it into my PC and after 10 min the battery icon showed up?! The battery was at 0%! The battery went from 99% to 0% just by turning it off!
I've let the phone charge again, this time the whole night (7 hours).. It was fully charged at 100%. I disconnected the charger and turned off the phone.. and again: a black screen.
I've Googled and searched everywhere but couldn't find 1 thing.. what could be the problem of this? How can my phone go from 100% to 0% by turning it off?
I have no idea what is going on but you need to contact google asap, they'll send a replacement and hopefully the new one isn't a dud.
If you want to try playing with it, plug the phone into a different charger with a different cable, let it charge overnight/12hrs and give it another shot it could be a bad cable/charger (to be honest I think this is a long shot.)
Really sounds like a hardware problem.
Your only option is RMA.

SM-G900F problem!

Hello
I have bought s5 1 month ago and all was fine untill last week. I started to notice that battery started to charge very fast and didnt hold this "juice" for long (max 40 min from 90% to 15% lol). But thats not the worst thing that happened. Yesterady it simply started to reboot randomly!!! One time it says that battery lvl is at 60% and after reebot it wont turn on. When i plug in charger it says 0%!!! When i want to turn in the device is catches some kind of boot loop. Rarely it will turn on properly. When i finally can turn it on it must be pluged in to charging. Charger plug out = reebot. Most of times now it reboots when the battery picture pops up when turned off!!!! It wont turn on even if i manage to charge it to 100% when turned off. Its a new phone and im starting to think that i have made a mistake buying it. I didnt do any software modifications and android was updated before all this has happened. I hope u guys will have any ideas whats going on. Im going to give it on warranty and im curious what they say and hope they wont tell its my fault lol

Probably a defective battery i guess or some other power related component. Best is to have it repaired as it seems to be hardware problem.

[Q] Is my phone dead?

I recently was on my phone texting and I set it down for about 2 hours and came back to it and it was off. So I thought, well thats strange and so I tried to turn it back on and nothing happened. So I took battery out and put it back in and it came on for 1 second then off, every time i took battery out and repeated. So I held power down for about a min w out battery, nothing...tried recovery, still turned off. Tried different battery, nothing. So Im sorta confused idk what is causing this...is it like dead? Can I fix it?
Interested to hear of anyone else has had this problem. 4 batteries and all showing over 90% in CWM, which does stay up when I bring it up. Have you got into your recovery and does it start on okay for that @Rocklee99

I cant get into recovery or download mode, itll shut down before it reaches their screens
I ended up getting rid of my China batteries. The external charger (purchased off of eBay with 3 batteries) would show the battery fully charged, even in reality, I'm guessing it was only partially charged. After so many times of "partially" charging and then discharging in the phone, I'm betting that the battery was more like 20% but showing fully charged. Confusing but these batteries do have a memory and if the wall charger is only charging to 20% capacity and shutting down the charge circuit, thinking is at 100%, after a few times of that, that's all these batteries will charge up to. Bad batteries, because new batteries were just fine with a new wall charger.
