You can use oskitchen but you need to import a wm6 ROM converted to NB and also need to launch the tool to convert NB to NBF like for other kitchens.

I tried oskitchen but I have problem. When I import ROM - file OS.nb extracted from ROM (Stock WM 5 or cooked WM 6.1) for HTC Tornado, I get this error:

}

Can you please link me the NBF files that you converted and the passwords to unpack them so I can try? If it says imgfs cannot be reconstructed on a stock ROM it means you probably didn't unpack it correctly (on cooked ROMs it can be normal if the DSM files have been removed to prevent rebuilding the ROM).

So here is link. Two ROMs - nbf which I converted + tool to convert nbf to nb and nb to imgfs and dump ROM.

The official one is WM5 based and cannot be imported since WM5 lacks the package names, the other has the packages messed up. I downloaded several other ROMs from the tornado forum page but I haven't been able to find one that didn't have some issues like files being left out or packages in wrong places so I have no idea of what ROM you could start working with.

you can also make ext packages from cab......by package builder provided by krazy......i will upload ext packages whenever i got time as i have started my internship.......

First ROM cooked and flashed, now how do I update it to wm 6.5?

Hi,
I have successfully cooked the official wm6 ROM for my phone (xda zinc). I would now like to update it to WM 6.5.
I used oskitchen zero.
Please Help,
zincoid
Hi,
UPDATE:
I have downloaded the latest SYS and XIP dump of WM6.5 23569 and gointo OS Kitchen, opened up my ROM and selected Import > Import new windows mobile build, I then went to the folder and then selected the Visual Kitchen package layout. I then went to the main tab and changed the version drop down to 23569 from wm6 build 1xxxx.
I then cooked the rom which gave me the os.nb file.
Is this the right way to do it?
Nope, gets stuck on the boot screen. Any ideas?

Have you replaced the native kernel (nk.exe) for your device that is aware of new memory WM6.5 structure? get it from daG's post. Read the diff between 6.1 and 6.5 first!
Where do i get the nk.exe? I have looked on the thread however it is not there?

You don't need to change nk.exe.
You must recmod some modules to files for WM6.5. Maybe oskitchen does this automatically, but I don't know.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
When I launched osKitchen it asked me if i wanted to use module to file? I selected yes.
It uses platformrebuilder which i heard is supposed to recmod for you.
What about XIP? Do i need to customize that?

XIP consists from two main parts:
MSXIPKernel - Microsoft Native Kernel Components - You change this folder with every new SYS build. If SYS is 23569 - MSXIPKernel must be 23569 .
OEMXIPKernel - OEM Native Kernel Components - No need to change anything.
there also can be:
MSXIPKernelLTK
WinCENLS_WWE - change wince.nls with one from WM6.5
LangDB
*UPDATE*
Hi,
I have downloaded the Zinc kitchen by crumzz and extracted the wm6 offical rom to it.
It cooks succesfully and works. The kitchen layout is below:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now how would i update it to wm6.5.5 Build 23569? I have the 23569 Common MSXIPKERNEL 0409 LangDB and MSXIPKernelLTK from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=650783.
Do i need the XIP? IS that universal for all devices?
Has anyone got a tutorial on how to do it or a guide?
Please reply,
zincoid
*UPDATE*
Hi,
I found a new kitchen for the zinc which uses PkgToolsBuildOs, XIPKitchen.etc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466887
Anyone got any ideas for either?
I think i may need to get a xip.bin from that thread open up XIPKitchen and import my xip then the new xip and merge them?
Device XIP = My XIP?
Donor XIP = The XIP from the wm6.5 thread?
then make new xip?
Should that give me the nk.exe and other stuff that may make it boot.
Then how do i update the SYS?

[Q] ROM Cooking For HP iPAQ Hx2

Hello,
I have an HP iPAQ Hx2 using the v2 of the Spiaatie WM6.5 ROM, but now I want to start cooking some ROMs to understand better about the Windows Mobile kernel, because at the time I just know it's API very well(as a developer). Then I want to know two things:
Where I can get the best kitchen to cook ROMs for it?
Where I can get the WM6.5 ROM file to customize?
Best Regards,
Nathan Paulino Campos
You can use kitchen from [here]
Thanks very much! Keep up he great work with your ROM!
Also, now I have some questions
How could I add more programs to the ROM(I have their CABs)?
How can I change the boot screen?
What I need to change the background?
What is the kitchen that you use Spiaatie? Can you share it?
Hello,
I'm trying to flash my own ROM to my HP iPAQ, using the tools that came with my kitchen, but when it starts to flash, I got this error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And at the EBoot screen, instead of the label US on the bottom right corner, it says: DIGITAL SIGN MISMATCH
What I should do?
Best Regards,
Nathan Paulino Campos
I guess you need a CustomRuu.exe not the original,at least we do this way for HTC.
But there is any custom RUU for iPAQs?
I really have no clue in how it work Ipaq anyway i Googled it and i found this thread, give it a look http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326214&page=2

1. To convert cab's to packages you can use this app [here]
2. You will need to add hTC Animation to kitchen.
3. Change classicblue_stwater_240_320.jpg, classicblue_stwater_320_240.jpg and images in Classic Blue.tsk (theme) file for example.
4. I use the same old style kitchen, as the new one does not work with iPAQ. I will not share my kitchen as I have spent many hours tuning it up and figuring things out. If you want to cook your own ROM - you will need to learn and use search a lot, same as I did years ago. And don't post unnecessary threads, if you have a question about ROM cooking for hx2000 series - post them all here.
5. You can't flash iPAQ from EBOOT mode - use PRE-BL mode and if it still does not work use RUU from my lastest ROMs.

[PROBLEM] Don't know what's wrong.

Hi all,
I have an HTC Hermes (Tytn) and I've installed a cooked Wm 6.5 italian ROM.
I have a problem: all the info under "Hardware Information" and "Call Duration" are messed as shown in photo.
What's wrong with the ROM?
I'm able to add or remove files from it, but I don't know what file or DLL or registry key causes the problem.
Hope I've posted in the right section and in the right way too...
Tranks in advance!

My guess is a bad .mui, try to search for a "DeviceInfo" italian cab, QVGA offcourse......but i suggest you to post in the Rom author thread.
This is not the right section, ChefCentral is made for Cooking problems this is a General Tytn problem.
I move it in there.
Thanks for the reply and sorry for the mistalke

yes i think so... it must be a mui... in your OEM drivers or OEMapps where did you get that muis? from 6.0 ITA stock rom?
try this......
use a WWE ROM, dump the OEM and grab all the muis (make a backup of your originial ITA muis)
and rename all the mui files (not modules) from 0401 to your lang code for ITALIAN and if the text is still in squares your trouble is inside the CPL's or the size of the words in regs, if the text is shown in english... so your muis are wrong
then the cooking job starts, you need to find wich mui is corrupted
hope it works for you
Thank You, give it a try!
Another question
Can You tell me in what files are saved all the ROM informations?
Thankyou

Tried to use another mui but this didn't solve the problem.
Any other thing to try?
What are the regs to control, and how can I verify the CPL?
Thanks !

[SOLVED]Bluetooth in Dutch ROM

HI there everybody,
I have a small issue with my ROM when cooking a Dutch ROM. I have a working HD2 WWE ROM and using OSkitchen to make the ROM multilanguage, the ROM is a 3.14 base. When I cook the ROM in Dutch I have a few issues (see screenshots)

}
All the bluetooth texts are in { } codes, I know that has something to do with the language, but where do I find these files?
I used the OEM packages for BT from the 1.66 dutch ROM, without luck.
I hope you guys can give me an answer.
[SOLUTION] while dumping the dutch ROM, oSkitchen made 0409 versions of thebluetoothwelcome0xxx.wmcl" and Btrez.dll0xxx.mui resulting in the above pictures.
Hi mate
change "bluetoothwelcome0xxx.wmcl" and Btrez.dll0xxx.mui into Oemdriver folder
with file for your languages
but if you use Oemdriver from rom tmouse,you must traslate this file in your languages
because old file presents in your old stock rom leo NL certainly are not compatible
you are in luck my friend i am busy with a hd2 rom to in dutch
i attached the files in 0413 and they need to be in oemdrivers
hope they help you out but i think they will as i dont have those signs
