Test/engineering mode? - HTC Aria General

Has anyone found an engineering or test mode for this phone? I'd like to be able to view signal info for fun.

You can go to settings > about phone > network to see a few things.

Try this from phone screen:
Code:
*#*#4636#*#*
I am interested if you find any others.

Today - Main view

Hello,
When i boot up the device, i get the 'today' stuf, and then all links on the left hand side(messages, calls, o2, etc.)
How can i remove all this from main view, and use it like my laptop, just have the start menu and a wallpaper.
I can easily access the things i have on the front via the start menu anyway. Also, when i first got it this morning it asked me to put it into a specific profile, i had no idea what they were but i slelected personal (AFAIR)
Thanks
The only way I was able to do it (not being a genius) was to put the phone in corporate mode. Since I got it back from 'repair' (humph!) I can't even do that.
How do i do that?
Also, whats is the difference between modes, any idea?
Thanks mate
Click on Start menu then program and then choose install type.
I would suggest you go for basic mode if you are on O2 as a network.
The difference between Basic Mode and Corporate mode is that in Basic mode all the settings you need to use O2 are there for you where as in Corporate mode you get absolutely non of the settings or O2 applications.
Hello,
I changed to basic mode but all the 'today' stuff is still there, apart from the 'menu'
How can i just show the 'wallpaper'
Thanks for your reply, appreciated
thanks!
Do you mean the Tasks, Messages, Appointments, Owners Name, etc. ?
If yes, then you need to go into Start | Settings | Personal tab and click the Today icon. Next activate the Items tab. You'll find tick boxes for all the standard items there, as well as for any other applications that install Today plug-ins. Some plug-ins have options, so highlight each one and click the Options button if it's enabled.
HTH.

Weak wifi reception ?

Hello.
To overcome this situation, activate in Start -> Settings -> (7) -> (1) -> (7) -> (2) -> (5) -> Energy Saving, change it to Better Performance..
It boosted my wlan reception and now can connect always at first try.. didn't noticed additional battery drain tho...
Regards, Ricardo.
Hello,
I'm having this same problem but I have the Verizon version (ozone). My menus are different than yours and I wind up in the USB tethering settings when I follow your instructions.
If it's not too much trouble, can you write out the menu names to get to the wifi settings? I've looked in my menus and can't find them anywhere.
Thanks.

Cannot access settings menu. Cannot turn on sense.

First off, i have spent several hours looking through this forum and cannot find an answer.
I turned off sense yesterday through the home/today settings in the settings menu so i could just see what the base os looked like and now i cannot access the settings menu, or turn sense back on. Also there is no link in my start menu for settings. Not in the tools, or app folder.
Please forgive me if this is a wasteful post i didnt know where else to ask.
Thanks
Enable it through BSB Tweaks.
start button > settings > home > check sense
He said he couldn't access the settings menu in the start menu because it would redirect to the sense one which was disabled. . .BSB Tweaks can enable the regular settings menu so he can enable sense again.
hklm/security/shell/start info
change hidesettings to 0 and it will show in start menu.
Thanks all.
Thank you. I am so used to android. The reg tibp and the bsb tip both work, but i actually made a script to pull the settings program wrom the windows dir onto the menu as a short cut.
Im glad there are people on here willing t help!

Fascinate Diag Mode

Hi does anyone here know how to get into diagnostics mode with the Fascinate?
I've tried searching everywhere and using the codes for the Epic and other Galaxy S phones but it doesn't work.
If anyone out here knows it, let me know thanks!

I know this is accessible by way of creating shortcuts directly to the various actions but I thought I would share this for anyone interested.
To access the hidden menus from the dialer:
• Open the dialer and enter *#83786633 then press the Home key
• Open the dialer again (clear previously entry if it is still present) enter *#22745927
• Enter the SPC 000000 then enable Hidden Menu
Now you can enter Service Mode by entering **772

That is the manual programming screen for the phone.
It's used for programming the handset in the event that OTA programming is not available.
The usual diagnostic mode dialing code on Androids is *#*#4636#*#*.
That dialing pattern works on my Droid 1 and HTC Incredible.
This changed with the Fascinate (maybe Samsungs in general- I haven't checked).
Someone needs to find the dialing form (eg *#*#<code>#*#*) that the secret codes are in.
I'm sure it's somewhere in the phone. I just don't know where to look.
I have a separate thread created asking for help find it.
The thread is called ' Sidetone - Need android_secret_code to access menu'
The diag. code for the Fascinate is *#0*#
you can check **33284
i usually use **USBUI (**87284) and it works i nut phone in modem then qpst find the phone and i do what i need to off that screen !
Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks
Enable Dial up Networking (Note: Be sure to disable this after flash has been performed)
Next..
Menu > Settings > Applications > Development
Enable USB Debugging
-------------------------------------------
If Dial-up Networking is not showing perform the following. Dial **33284 followed by SPC (000000 or 468346 ) then scroll to Port Map and select HFK,DIAG. Once this is complete, you should now have Dial-up Networking showing up under Wireless and Network.
Bypass Activation:
Press "Emergency Call"
Dial *#83786633 then press send
After you press "send" press the "home" key and you should now be passed activation
-------------------------------------------
Or (**87284)
Open dialer and enter ##8778# and... voila!!!
Tested in my samsung epic

+1, I was going to say this as well. Did some googling the other day and found this. Change USB from pda to modem.
I did this and was able to access phone in QPST to fix.

[Q] - How do I create a homescreen shortcut to a Settings submenu?

I need a homescreen shortcut to the Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Network Mode menu on my Droid 2 Global. It isn't listed in the Activities menu as far as I can tell, so I'm assuming I'll have to program it manually, but I don't have the first clue how.
I use LauncherPro which I know allows custom shortcuts, but if anyone has any ideas how to do this I would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks
